I highly recommend the super ambassador tour. It is well worth the extra money and you get a wonderful experience. The entire area is wonderful as you move through the different islands and learn about each individual culture. The dinner is amazing with wonderful food and a great treat drink. After dinner you get an absolutely fantastic show. I don't want to go into too much detail as to not spoil anything. I just want to say again the whole experience is fantastic and I will be back. One piece of advice, it is doable in a single day but you get multiple days with your ticket. I would recommend at least 2 if not 3 days too be able to see everything this amazing place has to offer.
I had an amazing experience at the Polynesian Cultural Center! I visited all six islands, and joined in most the of activities from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. — it was such a full and unforgettable day. The energy and warmth from everyone were incredible, especially during the welcoming dances. I even got to join in and dance with them — so much fun! A special thank-you to my private tour guide, Jasmine (from Philippines), who was absolutely wonderful — knowledgeable, friendly, and perfectly organized. She made sure we stayed on schedule and didn’t miss a thing. Each island had its own unique charm, and I loved learning about the traditions, music, and culture of each one. The buffet dinner was delicious with plenty of great options, and the live music and dance performances during dinner made it even more special. The “Ha: Breath of Life” evening show was absolutely amazing — a breathtaking performance that shared Polynesian history and island culture through music, dance, and storytelling. I highly recommend booking the Super Ambassador Package — it’s super worth it! You get a private guide, priority seating, and a much more personal experience. This was truly one of the best things I did in Oahu.
Amazing experience for our family. We loved experiencing each village/island and learning more about each culture. I wish we had more time. I recommend getting there early to ensure you can check everything out. We got the package with the gateway buffet. The buffet food wasn't amazing. Next time we come, we'll do the luau and get a tour guide. We found ourselves figuring out where to go next which made it hard catch all of the shows. The breath of life show is amazing and an excellent way to end the night. Very impressed with the quality of the show and the story told. We'll definitely come back next time we go to Oahu.
We had such an amazing time at the Polynesian Cultural Centre. At first, we debated on which package to purchase but ended up with the Super Ambassador Package, and it was such a great choice! It started off with a tour of the Polynesian islands, and Roslyn, our guide, was fantastic! So informative and allowing us to experience each of the sites that were key for us. Getting to learn about the history of each island was really insightful! It was really sad to leave Roslyn, but thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and being with us during the time! We then went to watch the Aliʻi Lūʻau buffet and learned the story of the Queen. James, our server, was so polite and kind with us! Thank you for making us feel welcome! The food was amazing, and seeing the imu was such an experience! The Lūʻau performance as well was just wonderful to watch. We ended the night with the HĀ: Breath of Life show, and I can see why photos and videos aren’t allowed during the show. The story and entire show were simply breathtaking to see. Everyone apart of the show did an amazing job! Overall, this was a wonderful way to learn about Polynesia and get to know the history and culture of each island. Having a private guide and reserved seating really does make a difference, and it was a wonderful way to enjoy the cultural centre. Thank you so much to everyone there!
Amazing experience! We got the Alii Luau package and had no regrets. We were worried it was going to feel like a school field trip but we had a blast. Whole day was great. Had a group tour with “Te” who was fantastic, planning our afternoon. All the shows were great, funny and the food at the Luau was incredible.
One of the best “tourist” experiences I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The performers are so beautiful it made me cry. Everything is so organized, clean, well kept, gorgeous and full of joy and life. Our tour guide, Mia, was excellent. She was so friendly and knowledgeable about everything. The dinner was absolutely spectacular!!! A buffet where everything is high quality and delicious. I came with no expectations and didn’t really know what was here. And I was so blown away. Highly recommend!!
Spending the day at the PCC was a dream come true. We have been wanting to visit here for many years. It was such a great day. We took the guided tour with Joseph from the Philippines and he was great. The shows were amazing and the activities were fun. We really loved the Luau buffet, although the food was not great, we overlooked it for the Luau. We absolutely loved the HA breath of life show- the dancers, choreography and story were delightful. I love how you get 3 days on one ticket. We missed 2 of the demonstrations on the first day, so went back the next day to catch the 2 we missed. We really enjoyed making the weaves fish and the canoe ride. Tonga out on a great show and the Tahitian dancers are incredible. A great way to spend the day, all of the workers were so friendly. It’s a beautiful place.
This is an outstanding place to spend a long day. If you are staying in Waikiki be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time online at the official Polynesian Cultural Center website and get the round-trip bus tickets. The main theater is in a half-circle and the seats, except at the far edges are all good. The buffet was excellent with many, many choices including vegetarian. All the island areas represented have informative short shows and talking to the stedent employees is a great side benefit. The place never seemed crowded although there were many people of all ages in attendance.

We had SUCH a great time on our trail ride at Gunstock Ranch. My husband and I did the sunset ride which was perfect! Amazing views and cooling breeze. I rode Scooby and my husband rode Daisy, the sweetest horses. They were so well trained that they basically required no handling on our part. So this would be great for anyone who has never ridden, or barely ridden horses before. All of our guides were super friendly and patient. Amanda was super knowledgeable about the ranch and the horses as well. I would totally recommend this to anyone!!
Family and I came to do a horse ride. The views are spectacular and it was a good time to spend on this side of the island. We all had a great time and look forward to coming back. The petting zoo was a bonus with the surprise of the tortoise. We learned a lot about the ranch with the guides ability to answer our questions.
I had a private advanced ride at Gunstock Ranch and it was absolutely amazing! My guide Lon put so much effort into making the tour unforgettable. We galloped through the forest and enjoyed a stunning view of the ocean. I rode Bud, a very well-cared-for and reliable horse. You can immediately tell how well the horses are treated here. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a true horseback riding adventure in Hawaii!
My husband and I had a blast doing the advanced ride with Devin as our guide. Very knowledgeable and fun, she is very passionate about being a wrangler and it shows. I wasn't sure how "advanced" one needed to be to do one of these rides (I have extensive experience, but my husband, not so much). But my husband did great and was able to trot and canter throughout the ride and Devin was great at checking in and making sure we were having a good time. For reference my husband has riden several times before and has trotted and centered prior to this, but it had been a few years.
Took my wife here on our anniversary and it was nice. They packed a small but good lunch for us and we got to eat at a really scenic stop. The hourses are well tempered, and the guide (Caden) was super nice and knowledgeable of the ranch. It would be very nice to go back and I would highly recommend it!
Took the hour scenic ride with one of my best friends for a spontaneous girls trip two weeks ago and had the best time as first time riders! My horse, Denali was gentle and painted like Maximus from Tangled so that was cool. Hunter is a great guide and made this hourlong trip interesting with the history of the ranch. Would definitely recommend!
This was the best thing I did in Hawaii for our honeymoon! We did the private sweet heart horseback ride. The tour guides were amazing and nice. It was my first time riding and I got to ride Mowgli and my husband rode Omaha. We had a cute little lunch date at the top of the mountain. It literally felt like a fun romantic date from those dating shows. They also had cute cows and bunnies.
Our family of five had an absolutely wonderful time on the 1.5 - hour horseback ride at Gunstock Ranch! From start to finish, the experience was smooth, safe, and incredibly fun. The views along the trail were lush greenery, gentle breezes, and the peaceful sound of nature all around. A special thank you to Amanda and Hunter, our amazing guides. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel completely comfortable. Their patience, encouragement, and sense of humor made the ride even more memorable. We all left with big smiles and lots of great memories. If you’re visiting Oahu and want a unique, family-friendly adventure, I highly recommend booking the horseback ride at Gunstock Ranch and if you’re lucky, you’ll get Amanda and Hunter as your guides!

Gorgeous look out, parking was was tricky with only about 10 spaces that were super tight. Mostly for people to come and go within 10 mins. Keep in mind to be respectful to the residents as the space is right at their entrances.
The location offers stunning views that are absolutely worth seeing, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Parking is very limited, so plan accordingly. The grounds are quite bumpy, so wearing sturdy walking shoes or paying close attention to where you're stepping is a must. Despite these minor inconveniences, it’s a lovely spot for a quick visit to soak in the gorgeous scenery.
One of my favorite stops while driving around the island. Stunning views and no crowds when I was there.
Great stop when driving thru Laie. Parking is hard to come by, and the rocks can be dangerous. Always big surf out there, and sometimes there are shore fishermen here. The hole from the tsunami is impressive! This is one of my "must stops" on our Oahu visits. Make the trip out to the point if you find yourself in Laie.
The view is absolutely worth the drive. Beautiful place to take pictures.
Absolutely stunning view of the rock and the ocean! It’s a quick stop to have a scenic experience of a lifetime… Also saw quite a few individuals with big fishing rods and a local was telling us they sometimes catch as big as 50 lbs fish! It was a great unexpected pleasant experience in our Oahu trip :)
Lived here 4 years and went 5 years after I left, for the very 1st time. Could've sat here for hours trying to meditate 🧘‍♂️ Views did not disappoint
Absolutely beautiful hidden gem. This is at the end of a residual street, so be respectful of their street. There is no real parking to speak of, but phenomenal spot to grab some pictures and reflect on your island visit.

OUTSTANDING! The performers all seemed to love what they were doing and brought great energy to the show. The choreography was terrific! Beautiful set and wonderful production values! It was simply one of the best live shows we’ve ever seen— we even preferred it to Cirque du Soleil and a lot of Broadway shows. Well worth the price of admission.
I was really looking forward to the show, and I think it would have been great if we’d had seats in the middle of the audience. The dancing was fantastic, but from my seat it felt a bit like watching from backstage — the audience wraps around the stage, and the performers faced forward almost the entire time, so we mostly saw their sides or backs. It didn’t really feel like they were performing for us. Across my family, opinions of the show improved steadily the more central the seat. The further to the sides you were, the less engaging it felt. I also noticed that people seated even further to the side weren’t clapping much, which says a lot. The main fire performance at the end looked like it could’ve been amazing, but from our angle we only saw fire lines — not the dramatic fire rings — since the performer faced the centre the entire time. The daytime shows around the park are fantastic and feel much more inclusive. If you can only get side seats for the main show, honestly, those park performances might be a better option.
Hā Breath of Life is without a doubt the best show I've ever seen in my life and I can say that I've seen many but none like this. I enjoyed it too much from start to finish. What delicacy in telling each story, how wonderful how they explain each culture in the most beautiful way possible and what great actors all who participate in this show. Visually, I don't think there's a more beautiful show than this in the world. You can tell that they do it with a lot of love and passion and it makes totally the difference. I hope I can see it again because it really took me a few days to assimilate what I had seen. What a real WONDER in every way!! Everyone should see it because it can't leave anyone indifferent
Holy guacamole. This show was actually extremely amazing. I went in expecting to see a movie on a screen but it was so much more than that. It taught me so much about Polynesian culture while simultaneously keeping little old me entertained. After the show, the cast was the nicest of the nice and I got to meet some actors and the lead, and my friends got to learn some dance moves from one of the characters. 10/10
This was absolutely amazing! The set design is intricate and so beautiful. I wonder how long it took to build! I loved learning about the different Polynesian cultures while being immersed in such rich storytelling. The entire show is worth it, but those last thirty minutes are stunning. Even if you aren't usually interested in these types of experiences, go see this!
The Ha Breath of Life snow was amazing! We sat front row for my son who can’t see very well let me tell you... I’m sooo glad that we did. Best seats in the house! Before the show they have ate attendants that bring around sherbet rice cream with fruit for $5. Some might say it’s a total tourist trap, but it actually made for a really good pre-show cool down. The stage roof is the sky while the stadium is covered so you can still feel the warmth from inside. The storyline & performances were very well represented & danced. I’m from Polynesia and they represented my culture very well in my opinion. After the show they allow you come on stage to greet & take photos with the dancers! We thought it was pretty neat. Thank you for a great show PCC! We enjoyed it and would love to see the show again when we return! Aloha! 🌺
Everything was perfect. I have worked on stage shows for years and I’ve never seen the show done this well and with such vitality and speed. Don’t know how to describe it, but I will tell everybody about it!
The show was wonderful. Everything so detailed. The costumes are amazing. Songs music and voices- perfect. The show nice prepared at all. Headily recommending.

Beautiful building, immaculate grounds! The care and attention put into this place are evident. It brings a feeling of peace and calm. Visit the visitors center if you are in the area.
Visiting the Laie Hawaii Temple is a profoundly serene and spiritually uplifting experience that combines breathtaking beauty, rich history, and a deep sense of reverence. Nestled on Oahu’s North Shore, this sacred site of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often called the “Taj Mahal of the Pacific,” offers a peaceful retreat that inspires reflection and gratitude. The temple’s historical significance and stunning architecture make it a must-visit landmark for anyone exploring Laie, whether seeking spiritual connection or cultural appreciation. The Laie Hawaii Temple, dedicated on November 27, 1919, by President Heber J. Grant, holds the distinction of being the first temple built by the Church outside the continental United States and the fifth operating temple worldwide. Its construction began in 1916, following a site dedication by President Joseph F. Smith in 1915, who envisioned a temple resembling Solomon’s Temple from biblical accounts. The temple was constructed on a former sugarcane plantation, using native crushed lava rock and coral mixed with reinforced concrete, creating its iconic gleaming white exterior. Designed by architects Hyrum Pope and Harold W. Burton, the temple reflects Prairie-style architecture with Mesoamerican influences, shaped like a Grecian cross and adorned with friezes by sculptor Avard Fairbanks depicting four dispensations of time. A remarkable story from its construction highlights the faith of the local Saints. When lumber shortages halted progress during World War I, a ship carrying lumber ran aground on a nearby reef. The captain offered the cargo to the community in exchange for help unloading, providing just enough wood to complete the temple—a moment many consider a miracle. Originally 10,500 square feet, the temple has expanded to over 47,000 square feet through renovations, including significant upgrades in 1976–1978 and 2008–2010, the latter restoring original features like hand-painted murals by LeConte Stewart. The temple grounds are a masterpiece of tropical landscaping, featuring cascading pools, royal palms, and the Maternity Fountain, symbolizing life and family. The adjacent Visitors’ Center is a highlight, open to all and offering interactive displays, a cut-away model of the temple’s interior, and a 10-foot marble replica of Thorvaldsen’s Christus statue. Friendly missionaries provide informative tours, sharing the temple’s history and the Church’s role in Laie, including its ties to Brigham Young University–Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center. The serene atmosphere, with benches for reflection and panoramic ocean views from the hilltop, creates a sacred ambiance that resonates with visitors of all backgrounds. While only Church members with a recommend can enter the temple, the grounds and Visitors’ Center welcome everyone, making it an inclusive destination. The free tram from the Polynesian Cultural Center makes access easy, and the Family History Center offers a chance to explore genealogy. Reviews on Tripadvisor praise the “peaceful and lovely” grounds and the “friendly, no-pressure” tours, with many noting the spiritual and aesthetic beauty. Visiting the Laie Hawaii Temple is a journey into history, faith, and natural splendor. It stands as a testament to the sacrifice and devotion of early Hawaiian Saints and continues to inspire over 100,000 visitors annually. Whether you’re drawn to its architectural elegance, its miraculous history, or its tranquil setting, this temple is a beacon of peace and a proud symbol of spiritual heritage on Oahu’s North Shore. Highly recommended for a reflective and enriching experience.
Every temple is beautiful, but the incredibly beautiful island landscaping and quiet north shore location is magical. Loved hearing about the history of the early members who worked to build chapels and push for this temple on the island.
If you don’t know what this building means then I would invite you to take a tour, led by wonderful volunteer missionaries, and learn about why it is so important. If you are already a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints then you know why is is so important and scerene and revitalizing.
Beautiful Temple! I am so glad we were able to experience it as a family while on the Island.
You don't have to be a member of their Church to go to their visitor center out in front of the temple. I sat watched several videos they have available. And I especially loved the video of the history of Laie and the Hukilao
It’s a wonderful place to explore Mormonism! Sister Paji and Sister Cahoon spent much time with me explaining Mormonism to me and answering my questions. The view is splendid! Temple on the top is the house of God for saints to worship God; Chapel on the right is a meetinghouse for services which are open to the public. The clear greenish water originating from the mother in the picture before the temple who pours her water of love onto her children flows down the pools, suggestively down the road, crossing the street to the temple’s garden and then into the open ocean, spreading it out on earth. What an awesome metaphor of philanthropist!
Love love loved our experience here. The history and beauty of the temple was awesome to learn and see. The sister missionaries were friendly and helpful. We watched some beautiful presentations of our Savior and got to see a unique replica of the inside of the temple. Loved the presentations, what a beautiful and spiritual place to visit!

We rented kayaks and e-bikes from Active Oahu Tours and really enjoyed our adventure kayaking from beautiful Lanikai Beach to Mokulua Island. My son enjoyed taking a dip in the Queen’s bath. Michael the owner was super nice! He personally guided us on the e-bikes towing the kayaks through the neighborhood to the beach. We were impressed with his customer service. Michael and his staff are so friendly and helpful. We found that Active Oahu Tours had the best pricing. We would definitely support his business again!
This place is such a good vibe. The guys working were so nice and helpful. They gave us these apple bananas to try. They were so chill and made this a great place to get kayaks from. We got two doubles and somehow loaded them onto our tiny car. It worked since they showed us how to do everything. We went out to moku island or something and it was pretty far but manageable. We walked to this tide pool which was super cool. Active Oahu is a great place to rent kayaks and paddle boards from. One of the more affordable options we found as well!
We went to mokoli’l with 3 tandem kayaks that easily fit on the van. The view was amazing. Bring appropriate footwear if you want to climb to the top. Ethan was super helpful!
Overall, I would recommend to experience it yourself. The path to the mangrove trees was beautiful and serene. There is a point where the trees are overgrown and we had to pull ourselves through the branches. The path to the Bay was passing behind peoples property. Once we got to the opening of the Bay it was a breath taking view. Negative Star was due to the drive time, 50 min one way, 4 hour rental time might be rushing it a bit.
Loved our guide ! We did kayaking to Mokes island, hung out and had a meal, did snorkeling and it was so much fun! Ethan, our guide was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic experience! Ethan (maybe Eden? Sorry I didn’t hear it clearly) was really friendly and helpful! We rented a small Kia Soul and thought it was impossible to carry a kayak, but Ethan helped us attach the kayak to the roof quite firmly. He also introduced us to the parking spots and gave us a shell that he found on beach as gift!
We had an absolutely gorgeous early morning kayaking trip out to the Mokulua Islands with Active O’ahu! The kayaks and all the equipment were in great condition—clearly well maintained and easy to use. Before the trip, Michael was incredibly communicative and quick to respond to all our questions. He tailored the experience to what we wanted. During the trip, he took amazing photos and even captured drone footage of us, which made for some unforgettable memories. After the paddle, we enjoyed a delicious poke bowl lunch that was the perfect way to end the day. Awesome experience from start to finish. Mahalo, Active O’ahu for our adventure! Highly recommend!!
What an amazing trip! We hooked up the kayak trailers to our e-bikes and rode down to the beach. Our guide stopped at the canal to make sure we could get a look at some local birds and learn about the history and formation of the islands. He was fantastic getting all the boats out on the water and making sure everyone was prepared and informed. While out on the water he taught us about the names of the islands and tides in Hawaiian and told us more places we should go check out. We had a great time on Moku Nui and even took a dip on the queens bath. The weather was perfect and Rob offered to take us out to surf some of the waves on our kayaks—so much fun! Overall our guide was super friendly and informative, riding the kayaks to the beach felt like an immersive Hawaiian experience and learning about the conservation efforts and island history was the cherry on top. 20/10 would definitely do it again!

We had a phenomenal time! We went as a group of 7 mostly inexperienced first-timers. The guides made us feel at ease quickly. The ambiance and storytelling was beyond memorable. Well worth the drive and cost for an experience we won’t forget!
If you’re looking for a truly unique and enchanting experience Lunar Legends is an absolute must do. Paddling through the serene waters of the Polynesian Culture Center at night, illuminated by glowing LED lights, felt like stepping into another world. The atmosphere was mesmerizing and the storytelling added a deep cultural richness to the experience. The guides were knowledgeable and engaging, sharing ancient Polynesian legends that made the journey even more immersive. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced paddle boarder, the tour is easy to navigate and incredibly peaceful. This is the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. I highly suggest it to anyone visiting Oahu-you won’t regret it.
This was a highlight of our trip to Oahu! Our guide Cousin Fatu was incredible! Knowledgeable, clever, and entertaining! His helper Sam was great as well! Do not miss this opportunity !
Fatsu, AKA Cousin was great. Excellent tour guide, story teller and fire knife dancer! He was great!! The only reason for 4 stars is the equipment. It was all getting run down and needed attention. Paddle boards needed new pads and some fiberglass was itchy, meaning it needed attention. The kayak paddle our friend had was missing the ring that keeps water from running down the paddle and getting you wet. She got all wet. The equipment also seemed like it needed to be cleaned. I wish I could give five stars just for the great job Fatsu did but the equipment was too big of a distraction to ignore.
This was the most fantastic experience, our guide was super friendly and hilarious when taking us around. He shared some wonderful legends of Maui, forever grateful to have been able to hear them from him. Definitely recommend to everyone, first time paddle-boarding and it was easy!
Fun night and okay for kids. It's a little scary for little ones but my son loved every minute! Paddleboarding definitely takes some experience but kayaking is relaxing. Great stories and Futo and Aliana were amazing. He made the whole experience! Would go back again!
My wife and I loved this. It was our favorite activity in Hawaii. The tour guide was very kind and friendly. There is some fun trivia and the LEDs under the boat are cool. It’s very beautiful and worth the experience
My husband and I booked this on a whim & we’re so glad we did! We had Pascal (I think that’s how you spell it) as our guide and he was wonderful. He made all of us feel like one big Ohana & even led us in a guided meditation where we laid on our boards and looked up at the night sky. The woven grass & flower crowns at the end were a bonus! Make sure you do bring a change of clothes & a towel because there are some waterfalls to go under & if you mess up you’re getting soaked!

A large open market with plenty of shops in Ohau. The shops range from clothes to necklaces, to arts, theater, desserts, bb-q , shoes etc. It’s typically touristic market so you should expect prices to be a little higher than usual. We loved the Hawaiian real fruit ice cream . We chose mango with coconut ice cream and it was the BEST ice cream we ever had! Coffee was freshly brewed and crepes were made to order.
We visited to get a feel for the local shopping scene, and it was a fun little outing. There were a few pop-up stalls and local eateries, which added some charm to the area. One of the highlights was when my kid opened a live oyster and found a pearl—he really enjoyed the experience, and it made the visit more memorable. It’s a nice spot to spend a bit of time browsing, but there were only a couple of shops open, so don’t expect a full marketplace.
We went here 5 times on our last trip. Kept on coming back for the Dole Whip and Soda shop. So many things to try and we loved how safe and clean it felt. Some places were very expensive like the crepes. $50 for 3 crepes! Everything else was well worth it! Be sure to get a cookie from Pounders so amazing! And go to the night show from PCC
Great place to walk around, shop for island souvenirs and get something good to eat. We had the privilege to bring our boys from Christian Brothers Academy of Albany New York to perform. It was amazing, all the boys enjoyed the shops, tattos, tours and shows
A large outdoor area filled with plenty of shops, stalls and various food trucks. There are so many different souvenirs available it's hard to take them all in. When it's busy it's difficult to find individual seating to eat your meal, we end up sharing our table with others as there was nothing else available for them. So keep that in mind if you go during peak times. The food options are fantastic and everything we had was so fresh!
Fun marketplace to visit in Ohau. We decided to check out this place and so glad we did! Our two grown kids enjoyed the market so much. We did not buy the tickets for Polynesian experience, but there are plenty of things to do there. Lots of shops, food trucks, and upscale ice cream and desserts. We loved the Hawaiian real fruit ice cream . We chose mango with coconut ice cream and it was the BEST ice cream we ever had! Coffee was freshly brewed and crepes were made to order. We had so much fun at the ukulele shop and the football hall of fame. Buffet was grand and had so much variety of food. Live Hawaiian music was so magical. We will never forget the moment that we spent time with our family at Hukilau Marketplace!
During our travels around the island we came across this marketplace. Well, this is no marketplace but a pavilion with shops, food and history or the island. This place is huge. When thinking of a marketplace we were thinking a little market with a gift shop. This place was much more than that. If you’re touring the island, this would be a fun stop that’s not to far from North Shore
We stopped here on our self directed island driving tour. I would have loved to have spent more time exploring the shops and the grounds. As it was, we got lunch and dessert at a couple of the many food trucks available.

Amazing place for family and friends. If you are looking for perfectly place to relax and enjoy your family and friends. This place can be very good for you and friends. Clean is important for me. And this place is very clean. This was the fishing place a long time ago. My first time on this place , no restrooms. There’s is a parking spots . No a lot shade.
Put it this way, my boy wanted to come back. Sunset here was beautiful. Keep in mind you don't actually see the sun set on this side of the island but thre cloud colors were magical.
Why so many snakes and sharp glass all over the beach? And umm poison ivy and the water is Ice cold always smells like uhhh rotten meat. 200% humidity and 120°f. Terrible place. Avoid. Why all the screaming!?!? Where is it coming from?
This is the beach where the famous Hukelua Hawaiian dance came from. Huke-pull and lau-net. It was a big fishing event that envolved the locals of Laie, whole families would participate decades ago. The waves here can be high during high tide, during low tide great for the toddlers. Extremely small waves
Another beauty on the northeastern side of Oahu. Easy to find along Kamehameha Hwy in the town of La’ie. No amenities just a beautiful, serene unspoiled beach. It was a windy day when we visited so the waves were high.
Beautiful white sandy beach ⛱️
Beautiful beach waves. Great parking right by beach...beautiful low key spot. Close to nearby shopping center for quick bites or gas.
One of the best beaches on the north shore. Lots of sand for over a mile long walk

Trail is in great shape. It was dry and easy to navigate. It has dirt-bike traffic for most of the way so, be aware you might come across one as we did. This trail has a gradual incline most of the way and is mostly shaded. No bugs and the water at the falls is nice and cool for a swim. We saw some sort of crawdad/crayfish in the pool. The falls are more of a trickle right now. The first mile is on a road that crosses private property. You must obtain a permit to access this trail. You can do so easily online and there is a link provided on the AllTrails description. The road has several signs that will point you in the correct direction to find the trailhead. The all trails route is accurate as well and starts you at the Laie Park parking area. This is the recommended parking area to access this trail. Trail has minimal foot traffic. There is one section that was washed out by a landslide and has a rope to help you cross. Recommend wearing shoes that have good tread. Overall: 5/5! Add this to your north shore hiking list. You could easily trail run this for the first 3/4 and then hike the last part. Lots of roots to navigate.
So we hiked about a mile of this trail and learned a ton so I wanted to share what we learned, with the caveat that we did not make it to the end of the trail. First, you need to fill out an online permit. Second, the trail is definitely longer than a mile, its in good condition but you definitely raise in elevation and with the humidity and heat it can be difficult. The signage was pretty good and we never felt lost. Overall a very nice trail but definitely more difficult than we were expecting. Still a pleasant experience though.
Tucked away on Oʻahu’s lush North Shore, the Lā‘ie Falls Trail is one of those rare gems that delivers a true Hawaiian hiking experience — where the journey and destination are equally rewarding. From the moment you step onto the path, you're embraced by a world that feels untouched, alive, and profoundly peaceful. The trail begins with a gentle ascent through private land, opening quickly into expansive ridgeline views. On a clear day, the Pacific Ocean shimmers in the distance, stretching endlessly beyond the town of Lā‘ie. As you gain elevation, the air becomes cooler, and the sounds of the world below fade into birdsong and the rustling of leaves. What makes this hike truly captivating is the diversity of scenery. One moment, you're weaving through ironwood forests that whisper with every breeze; the next, you're surrounded by towering ferns, ginger, and wild guava trees that perfume the trail with a sweet, earthy fragrance. The foliage is thick and lush — a living cathedral of green. The crown jewel of the hike, Lā‘ie Falls itself, is a modest yet elegant cascade tucked into a serene jungle alcove. It’s not grand in height, but it feels sacred, as though you've stumbled upon a secret oasis. The pool at its base is inviting — cool, refreshing, and perfect for rinsing off the effort of the climb. This is not a trail for those seeking an easy stroll — the 7-mile round trip can be muddy, root-ridden, and steep in places, especially after rain. But for those willing to embrace the challenge, it rewards with an experience that is meditative, scenic, and deeply immersive. Pro Tips: Bring water, sturdy shoes, and expect to get muddy. Start early to avoid afternoon heat and maximize the tranquility. Final Verdict: Lā‘ie Falls Trail is a stunning blend of tropical wilderness and soulful seclusion. It’s the kind of hike that leaves you breathless not just from the effort, but from the beauty — a place where the spirit of Hawai‘i is felt in every step.
The best Hike I have had in Hawaii 100% recommend Its a long Hike I started at 10:50 am and was in my car by 2:15 pm. The path is clear and well maintained. There is one intersection that you will meet early on in your hike, for the waterfall you should go right. I went on October, the waterfall was amazing and water level was deep. Amazing experience Also this trail is not walked by many, so you will most likely have the opportunity to enjoy the waterfall all by yourself or with your friends.
My favorite hike in our time on Oahu. It was marked and fairly easy until the very end where you have to climb down into the waterfall area with the aid of ropes.
Some easy sections, but most moderate and technical single track. The final 5-10 minutes into the falls is very technical downhill, wet, and slippery. Water was chilli in late Oct '24, but refreshing. The best part of this trail is there is plenty shade and a couple openings to soak in an amazing view of the valley and ocean
Hike is 6+ miles round trip. Took us about 4 hrs, were fairly fit people. Fun swimming and climbing at the falls. Bring good hiking shoes or sandals for muddy trails. You can get the permit online for free easily. There are no dangerous dogs anymore so don’t worry about that.🐶
I really loved this hike. The trail takes you through diverse land environments, which keeps things entertaining over the ~5.5-km distance (one-way). Of course, the star of the show is the falls at the end - several areas to swim. The water was a bit cold (December), but it was super refreshing after the trail. You need a permit for this hike, and it is recommended that you park at the park just before the entrance to the trail. Highly recommend!

Can I give Shane and Adventure Tours 10 stars?! Talk about tailor-made pace and sights, impromptu surprises, and even a stop to get some Indian snacks to cater to individual cuisine preferences. I saw the great reviews and booked accordingly, but I could NOT have predicted just how happy and heartwarming this trip would be. Shane felt like part of the family and really treated us all with such care and managed to pack in SO much - from waterfalls to snorkeling to blowholes to hiking, not to mention ALL of the amazing facts about history and native Hawaiian cultural practices. I can keep going, but I just you so much for a really beautiful and inspiring memory that brought our family even closer and kept us laughing and smiling all day :)
The North Shore Eco Tour was a great experience to include in our vacation. It was a great way to explore the interior of the island and learn more about its native flora and fauna. Plus the fun of driving the ATV! Highly recommend for anyone wanting a fun off-beach experience, just don't wear a white t-shirt!
We rented four double kayaks for our tour of the bay. The crew was great. They were right where they said they would be, they had everything we needed (THANK YOU for the loan of the snorkel bags!!) and their directions on navigating our way back were super helpful. We would DEFINATELY rent from them again!! Gear was top notch and we had a great day!!
My Adventure Tours Hawaii trip was an unforgettable experience that exceeded my expectations as I got to see the true Oahu on a recent vacation with my girlfriend. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about both the areas on Oahu that we were visiting and general Hawaiian history. On our adventure, we took a SUP tour in the jungle, found a secluded beach, and visited the legendary Pali pass lookout - all with our guide, Shane. If you're looking for a fun, safe and unique tour of Oahu, then look no further. Something that really impressed me was that Shane setup the administration of our custom trip well before I left the mainland - taking care of many of the details and billing beforehand so I was able to visit the island worry-free about the upcoming tour. The experience was exactly what I was looking for. Professional. Unforgettable. True Oahu.
My husband and I brought our 4 teenage grandchildren and had a wonderful time. It was my husband’s 78th birthday, he thoroughly enjoyed it, especially with the kids. Fun for all. There were activities the kids participated in. Drinks and food was delicious. The entertainment exciting, humorous at times, beautiful. The interaction with the people was cool.
My family and I had the absolute best time with Adventure Tours Hawaii. Our guide knew all of the secret spots to take us to including a hidden waterfall surrounded by the lushest landscape that truly looked like something out of Jurassic Park where we could cliff jump. They provided lunch (which was superb). They planned the perfect amount of activities for us which we never would have done if not for them! Whether you're looking for a calming, scenic, enjoyable tour/ experience or just an adventure, scenic packed one, definitely book with Adventure Tours Hawaii! Seriously... You won't regret it :)
Absolutely amazing tour on the Ko Olina Glass Bottom boat - we got into a huge pod of Nai'a (spinner dolphins) - along with seeing one of the rare local īlio holo i ka uaua (monk seal). Tristan and the captain were outstanding - what an incredible adventure with people that actually are just awesome! A Hui Hou! Erik and our Ohana
A fascinating and informative tour. Excellent tour guide. Easy to set up and easy to drive to. Highly recommend. And we got 2 pineapples to bring home with us.

This has to be my favorite theater anywhere. Definitely has the best popcorn you will EVER have and the bright and happy well decorated lobby immediately greets you with a good time. The audience reactions are part of the reason I enjoy going to the theater and here I’ve not been disappointed. I love this small town setup and have so many wonderful memories watching movies here.
Sure, it's small. But it's a local theater, that's close by and student friendly. The tickets are cheap and the theater is nice, not old or ratty at all. You can get your snacks and your popcorn, so all is good. The staff are super nice as well. My family really enjoy going to this theater.
I love the simple old town feel of the theater! I had previously left a review about the butterless popcorn but wanted to update it as I realize that they offer real butter as opposed to butter flavor. If you add salt and layer the butter it's even better than the big chain offerings. Just wanted to correct the error from my previous review.
I enjoy taking my kids to Laie Palms Cinemas. It has a small town, relaxed feeling to it. I think the smaller screens and theaters are refreshing. The new owners have done a great job getting the screens and audio updated. Driving from town with my kids on the to watch a movie and eat a burger at 7 Brothers would be a perfect family Saturday getaway.
Movies are current and never R rated. Popcorn is good. And the price is the cheapest anywhere. Great place and great owners, who have done a good job remodeling it. They let me propose to my wife there with a fake movie trailer. Laie Palms is awesome.
Another reviewer says bad things about this place. That person hates sunshine, puppies and everything good. Laie Cinemas is what going to the movies was like before megagoogleplexes: a couple little screens in a little neighborhood shopping center. The theatres are long and narrow, and the screens higher up the wall. Sound and image quality are excellent. Popcorn was great. If you're on the North Shore and want to see a movie, this is the place to go.
This theater is small, but fun. I go with friends to the movies all the time! I love that they discount for students. Really a great theater and have never had any problems... Until yesterday. I went to pick up pre-sale tickets to the Star Wars movie. The cashier was about to sell me 2 tickets at the student discount when a man (college aged) walked over and promptly told the cashier "We don't discount pre-sale tickets." She had already taken my money, but it was fine. I would pay the difference. Jokingly I said, "Aw man, you just ruined my night" to which the man replied, "Well if $4 ruins your night, maybe you shouldn't be coming to the movies." Man. Terrible customer service. I don't fault the company at all, but this kid needs an attitude change. That's not how you get people to return to your theater. Yes, I am a broke college student and sometimes a few dollars does makes a difference, so don't call me out on that because you don't know my financial situation. Funny thing was, I was buying tickets for my roommate, it wasn't even my money. Really do love this theater and haven't had a bad experience until now. The cashier was really kind and I could tell she felt totally uncomfortable by his comment made. Sorry I had to give anything other than a 5 star review. Thanks Laie Palms Cinemas!
BEST POPCORN ON THE ISLAND #NufSaid The family who runs it also have wonderful people skills and are so friendly. The movie selection is good (not always perfect, but no theater is) and the location is great. I consider it to be a sin if you come to Oahu and don't watch a movie here... even if it is just to try the popcorn!

About 1000 feet of elevation incline making it a pretty tough first half of hiking. The loop takes about 2 hours for about 3.5 miles. Great hike with a nice jungle feel.
Moderate hiking trail for ~5.5km. Scenic at one point and forest-y for pretty much rest of it so don’t expect too many views. Nice shake out for a post flight!
Beautiful chill hike with nice ocean view . Moderately challenging with a good amount of incline but not too strenuous.
Short fairly easy trail, but having its difficult spots. Nice view of the cove.
Just making a note here as of May 3 2025. This trail is closed due to a Fire Ant Infestation. No access to the trail.
Nice up and down hike with some cool ridges allowing lovely views. Mostly in the forested shade so great on a sunny day. Will get muddy with rain. Small river crossing at the start (dry December 2017).
Definitely not a novice experience! Plan to do some hiking through Hau’ula Homesteads just to get to the trail head - and once you’ve found the trail, anticipate narrow paths, boulder problems, ambiguous trail directions, overgrowth, mosquitoes, and a metric heckload of super steep switchbacks! The view at the top of the front ridge is worth it. Just make sure you’ve got the stamina and water to make it through the remaining 2/3 of the trail, or you’ll end up backtracking, like I did my first time through. FYI, you will NOT have cell reception when you’re on the trail, so make sure of your directions before you head out. And as some others have mentioned, if it’s been very rainy, watch your footing - the first bit of uphill trail can be super slippey. I definitely wiped out on the way back down!
Not for beginners! Yes we did not see a soul, and yes you experience a tremendous amount of Hawaiian flora and fauna, and yes the overlook of the town and the ocean is beautiful. But wow I feel a little mislead by all the reviews. My girlfriend and I both found this very challenging, and downright scary in a lot of parts. It seems like the entire trail is off camber. A ton of it is about a foot wide with a huge drop beside it. We encountered one spot where a huge mudslide had basically washed out the trail on an extremely vertical side of the mountain. You're hanging on for dear life to roots and anything you can find, praying the mud doesn't give way! We love to hike, but we would never do this trail again. If you have any fear of heights and you're not a seasoned hiker I'd steer clear of this beast.

This is a great place to shop, good customer service and affordable prices.
they had such a beautiful selection of floral things and lots of little trinkets
Aloha everyone! I just discovered a wonderful place called “Tahitian Treasures” that sells beautiful original Hawaiian accessories. I highly recommend checking it out! The customer service is very friendly and really made my day. Best wishes to you all at Tahitian Treasures—you guys rock! 😁
Beautiful bracelets!! The people were so welcoming and friendly. I bought three of the stone bracelets and they gave me a discount. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Mahalo!!
Naki and Lan were very nice and patient while my 10 year old, picky daughter tried to find the perfect sarong and buckle. Lan even showed her rhe different ways to tie it. They have beautiful pieces.
We love it here! They have a lot of options and choices and they are all very nice. Service was amazing, would definitely come back!
It was a great experience shopping here. Very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend coming here.

This was an awesome tour. Humuhumu, our driver/guide was the best. Lots of information, funny, and just a kind person. He showed us a lot of what Oahu has to offer. He taught us a lot about the history of the native Hawaiians, and the history of the islands themselves. Every stop was enjoyable. Would recommend this tour to anyone that is looking for an all encompassing trip of the island.
We took a day trip from Oahu to Maui for Road to Hana tour. A long day but worth every minute. Our tour guide was josh, a local, very knowledgeable guide with a good sense of humour. Josh brought us to all the hot spots. A very enjoyable with breath taking scenery. Thank you Josh for making the trip so informative & enjoyable
Best Of Oahu Circle Island Tour was a fantastic experience, made unforgettable by the outstanding service provided by our driver. Their expertise, friendliness, and commitment to guest satisfaction transformed a simple outing into a truly memorable adventure. I would not hesitate to book with this company again, and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a top-notch tour experience.
The mountain tubing ride was fantastic!! Very organized, excellent information provided on history of the sugar cane industry on the island by our tour guide Cody. He was also hilarious on the way back and made it such a fun time. Provided lunch was delicious. Go for it!!
Tim the tour man was our guide for the circle the island tour. He was witty, friendly, and knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to have him for our Pearl harbor tour as well. He made us feel like family.
We went out for the day with Host Vetti to tour Pearl Harbor, a quick city tour of o'ahu and the surrounding areas then ended with the battleship Missouri. We were well taken care of, on time and we'll informed everywhere we went! Highly recommend these guys! Ask for Vetti, he's awesome!
Kalei was an amazing guide! Tom and I had an outstanding time. He kept the conversation flowing and his insight and knowledge of the island was amazing. His daughter Kai was an adorable sidekick who taught us about the flowers on the island. I am so glad that I booked the tour with Hawaii tours.
We had a great time on the halfway to Hana tour. Ziplining was great and our guide Doug was so nice and knowledgeable. We hit all the highlights and avoided all of the tourist traps. We loved the stop at Jaws for breakfast, Aunt Sandy’s for banana bread, and Paia for Poke and Shave ice. My kids loved the waterfall jump too. Highly recommend this tour for its great mix of education, food and fun!
