I loved this spot! Yes it is very unshaded in the first part, bring a sun umbrella. The space is going to fill in beautifully over the next years but it is already gorgeous. I really enjoyed my time there. Bring binoculars to view the birds! Great birding spot.
Great short hike. Has a biking trail that connects from Captain Clark Park. I really like how the gravel trails are elevated and you get a view into the wetlands. This is a great place if you are a bird watcher, I saw a lot of people with cameras and binoculars. Being next to the river makes it beautiful on sunny days. Has good bathroom access and signage. Would do it again for short getaways during the week or weekends.
Definitely is a nice nature area to check out! With it being so close to the highway you don't really lose all the highway noise until you're quite a ways onto the trail, but then you find yourself with no noise but birds and running water from the river. It also has some nice, albeit somewhat obstructed, views of Mt. Hood on a clear day, but nothing to write home about. Overall opinion: I'm glad that I checked it out and it's worth checking out yourself, but it won't be a place that I repeatedly visit in the future.
This is a beautiful and serene area to walk a nice, gravel trail. You can see and hear a bunch of different birds. We saw a bald eagle perched high up in a tree along the river. Great place for a morning walk or weekend hike! There are a few bicyclists and an occasional horse rider also.
Beautiful space for anyone who wants to appreciate nature and support protecting our natural spaces. However, I plead with anyone coming here to respect rules set in place to protect the wildlife. Dogs are not allowed here! (With the exception of service animals) I see so many ignoring this. Everyone that comes to these places has a shared responsibility for their stewardship.
Parking here is free and right off Hwy 14, so it's easy to find but the parking lot entrance can sneak up on you. I have visited here a handful of times over the past decade. This last time, they have moved some earth and changed the topography to try to help along the wildlife habitat and diversity. I hope it looks more like the beautiful green oasis it once was in a few years. Right now it's a lot of brown, bordered by large businesses. They were once easy to ignore, as the path from the parking lot heading in, was down on the side of the the ridge you now walk across the top of. So the mound of dirt blocked out Washougal city and you could try and pretend you were nowhere near civilization. Part of the park is unavailable for half the year so as to not disturb the nesting birds. I heartily support that. I hope the changes are for the better.
Perfect Trail for all ages along the Colombia river. Easy walking. We walked the entire length all the way to the east end which is roughly 4 miles each way. Very little elevation change. Great place for bird watching. And of course Mount Hood in all its glory.
Easy trail. I came from steam boat at the beginning of the levy and did the loop in the refuge back to the levy. Saw a deer, a rabbit, an osprey, a bittern, yellow bellied little birds and plenty of other birds. This is a must trek. I will visit this place again after 6am of course. The refuge doesn't open till 6am and close at 830pm. There are gates at the entrance so you cannot drive your car in till they open. Plenty of benches to have a sit on and a little bit of shade here and there. Mostly in the sun though. Only gnats and they weren't too bad at the refuge. It is gravel on the walkways. Very peaceful and beautiful place.

wow, easy to access right off Route 14 about 30 min drive from DT Vancouver. Easy parking in the pull out, quick walk on the southside of 14 down to the falls overlook with breathtaking views of the Columbia Gorge looking east - it was misty and slightly rainy when were were there so on a clear day, WOW those views are going to knock your hiking socks off! Part of the trail is closed now (mid Feb) for Falcon nesting <3. Follow along the stream to the tunnel and hike the north side of 14 to several overlooks. Can hike up to 5.5 or so miles total if you want to up and back to the upper parking spot.
This is a small stone viewing platform off the Cape Horn Trail which provides easy viewing of the falls. There is no direct access to the falls themselves. The overlooks is a short walk (5 mins or so) from Highway 14.
Great hiking area with views of the Columbia River. Not a hike for off leash dogs or children who follow directions sporadically as there are lots of dropoffs.
A must visit! Great view on a clear day!
Great lesser known small hike, perfect for senior photos and just enjoying the beauty of the gorge
Amazing views, with some of the freshest water in the world. PS a good spot for Gus to nap...
Love this hike. The waterfall is beautiful

Nice and sandy. The water is warm. The views are amazing. It gets really crowded on the weekends. But had a wonderful time with the my family and friends. Will go again!!!
This is a great place to bring kiddos, there is no shortage of beach. The depth is shallow for toddlers to walk in splash and there are also areas for deeper swimming, but those usually have people on jet skis. Very fun, very accessible. Parking is tough due to how many people go here. Still worth it.
Great morning walk! Flat, dirt trail with a little gravel. Not busy mid-week. Beautiful views of the river and some wildlife. You can start at Steamboat Landing and walk here and beyond. You can also walk to the nature preserve. Beautiful park on the river and a great walk!
I have driven by here for work a few years ago. Never realized how neat of a little park it is. This tucked away park is a Gem for fishing and there is a Lil flower gold in the black sand bands. We will be back!
Went here today on 6/26/18 and hike down to the refuge from the steamboat parking area. It was a little after 5:30am when I got there. The parking area for steamboat is gravel, there are more nice parking areas in industrial vancouver. The bathrooms don't open till after 6am at steamboat and cottonwood parking areas, so that was not good. The east Dike trail is mostly all gravel and I got a huge blister on my heel from walking to the refuge and back on it, not going to do that again and there are tons of bugs and even mosquitoes so bring your bug spray and put it on. The trail is mostly in the sun in the summer and the signs on e wa st Dike trail can be a little confusing.
This was a beautiful Park, and we had an amazing time here. Very well maintained. It has everything you need for family fun. The beaches were Sandy and beautiful. We would definitely come back to
We had fun, but wow, be ready for mosquitos. This is your typical big river beach. Lots of good sand for playing and lounging, the water isn't terribly cold, but it is murky, so watch those kiddos.
I love bringing my dog to play with other dogs in the morning before families come to enjoy the beach together. My only complaint is that they need to create a fenced off dog area.

I stopped in to ask if they could help identify an old elementary school that my great grandmother went to in 1929. I had a picture of her on the front staircase. Wouldn't you know it, they had a picture of the school hanging on the wall! The staff was wonderfully helpful and I was able to locate the school and stand on that very staircase. I feel bad that I didn't have time to walk through the museum, but I will definitely return!
Stopped by with the family today. Kids had a great time and we learned a few new things about our little home town that we never knew. Julianne was an awesome tour guide. Already been telling people they should go check it out.
A good little museum. We we're not able to enjoy the museum at our own pace. Unfortunately only guided tours are allowed, which rushed us past lots of small displays. There is much to read, but no time allowed to just observe and read.
Wonderful museum with many antiques/artifacts displayed nicely. Unfortunately the volunteer gentleman followed us around for our entire visit there. While he was pleasant to talk with, I felt rushed and a bit under constant scrutiny. It definitely put a damper on my experience.
Great collection of local history. Now charging a mandatory "donation" of $40/hr and required babysitting appointment to use the library resources. They feel that they have collected and maintained the resource and if people use it to write books, articles or anything besides personal, local family history, they might be missing out on money and recognition. Charging $5.00 per b/w photocopy. Wonderful resource that's basically unusable.
Great little museum from people who really care about the community.
Tried visiting per listed hours on a Saturday in January and got to the door and the sign said closed for winter - opening March 5. Would really have been nice if this information could be listed online. Particularly is this is a yearly occurrence...
Very interesting. So great to have so many items from the local history. Thanks to the students who made the model of the Gorge!

I’ve been 4 times since the start of summer. The food has always been tasty. I’ve had pizzas, burgers, the Reuben, nachos, etc… My kids like the Mac n cheese, mini corn dogs, burger, and chicken nachos. They keep a good been menu on tap. Chill vibe and low key atmosphere.
I order Reuben and it is really impressive. I think it tastes better than brisket wrap. We sat at patio so it's noisy hearing the train run by every 20 mins
What's not to love. Beer, beer, and more beer. If you can't find something to like here, you probably have an issue. The selection of beers was stunning. Quite a number of porters and stouts. The bar tender was outstanding. She answered any questions I had. The beer menu was amazingly organized. I also had some lunch and their barbecue brisket wrap was outstanding. Went with the salad instead of fries. It was a nice small side salad- perfect. If you're in Camas and are in need of a place to stop for a beer, you have to stop at A Beer at a Time. Highly recommended.
Was at A Beer at a Time on Halloween. Pretty fun place to be, though they were crazy busy. Standing in line for 12 minutes each time you want a beer kinda sucks. Pizza was great, staff were all very friendly and they had a great Foo Fighters / Nirvana cover band! Definitely recommend, just wish they did table service.
I went here on Halloween night when there was a sizeable crowed, the staff was decked out in costumes and still managed to turn out food and drinks at an even pace while keeping the quality top notch. I had the chicken pot pie and it was surprisingly flavorful, the crust made me suspect that it was homemade which is very admirable. Also I tend to abstain from alcohol so the mocktails and other booze-free drinks available was a welcome surprise!
Update: Since our initial experience, we didn’t go to A beer at a time for 6 months. Til one day, we stepped in to see if it had changed. Fortunately we haven’t seen that particular bartender since, everything changed into a good vibe. We have become regular customers for enjoyable drinking, eating and dancing at A beer at a time. Original review: A beer at a time has a great selection of beers and good food. We would love to give 5 stars if the bartender who served us twice in a row that could be friendly, welcoming and patient with new customers. The Pandemic has been difficult to the restaurants/ pubs industry in the past two years, and we are more appreciative of their hard work and try to support the local business to stay open. Generally speaking, the restaurants/ bars we visit, people are friendly and helpful. We would go back again, like I said they do have excellent beers, so can’t help ourselves. Just Wondering which day is his day off ? 😉
We were looking to bag a dive bar after dinner. We had another destination in mind and saw this place on the way. Not sure I would call it a dive bar after going in. Jess was our bartender - we loved her! It was hard to choose a beer from the 51 tap handles. The tap list behind the bar was unique - and needs a library ladder to make changes. When I ordered was asked if I wanted a pint or a mug. Turns out a 20oz mug is $7 50 - a fifty cent increase over the pint cost. Loved the beers we had. The margaritas were tasty as well. Didn't have any food this time - but we'll be bsck. Oh - the bathroom was spotless.
Actually, the service is nearly always wonderful. But I go to the Bar always, and order very expensive drinks, and this one Bartender just HATES me. I have NO idea what I've done...I always tip 25-30%, but she won't even look at me, she hates my very existence. She knows who I am and who is writing this. I think management need to step in and see what her issue is and see if we can overcome this. I like it here...but if she HATES ME, I have other options that love my $100+ tabs. Wonder if the Owners care if they lose my business???

So happy to find this gem in my neighborhood! The owner, coaches and everybody are so welcoming and friendly.. CrossFit is new to me especially the weight lighting, so I was intimidated and had hesitation out of fear of injury. But coaches are understanding and never pushed me, instead they coached me one on one with encouragements each time. This gym also hosts events, for example 10k for runners in the summer. If you want to build strength and stamina while having fun and the support from others, join us!
Super friendly athletes and great coaching! Andy was awesome . Visiting from NY but felt like I wanted to stay. The gym was one of the many pluses the area had to offer. Would definitely make it a point to come back and workout with the Washugal River crew.
Best coaches and athletes around! If you're new to CrossFit, do not be intimidated. The coaches are very good at scaling workouts (movements and weights) to something that is at your present skill level, yet pushes you enough to get better. They are also great at making extra challenging when you want it, and always fun. I've been a member of this CrossFit community for almost three years and have enjoyed everything about it: from the 6am workouts, to the Saturday partner WODs, to the community involvement, and constant improvement. What Polly and Dave have created here is nothing short of amazing. Keep up the good work.
The owner Polly, is such an excellent trainer, and so nice! Her family is so welcoming, and encouraging towards those around them. This is by far one of the best crossfit gyms I have been to. I remember at one point i was so sore from the day before, that i could not do a pull-up! But the instructor at the time, reassured me on how good i was doing, & to keep going! I promise you, you will leave with a huge smile after you work out. HIGHLY recommend this place!!
Crossfit North Pacific has been a great gym for my wife and me. Each week I learn something new from the coaches who are very knowledgeable. I love that they challenge the members in the workout, but not beyond the point of being safe. My wife has been pregnant almost her entire time at the gym and Polly and Dave are always considerate of her individual needs in the workouts.
Before going to Crossfit North Pacific I was pretty sure I would like it because I enjoy working out but I have been surprised by how much I LOVE it!!! The gym is clean, bright and very well equipped. The work outs are fantastic with great variety and everything is explained well and taught with precision. They make sure we are doing it right so we don't get hurt and can maximize our effort. The best part, however, is the people!! Polly, Dave and the other instructors are amazing. They have the perfect mix of praise and pressure, encouraging you to do your very best and to give it your all every time. The other athletes are fantastic, I love being a part of a group where everyone is so kind and supportive. It's great to have friends when you're working heart out, we encourage each other and no one looks at you funny when you grunt or groan! Showing up at Crossfit North Pacific is the best way to start my day. I love it! I signed up planning to just do a few months to get through the off season but I'm so addicted now that there is no way I could quit now. I would miss my new friends and miss out on the fun we have every day with the work out of the day. I can't wait to see what we do tomorrow!
I had been thinking of starting CrossFit for a while but never got up the courage to go in. I'm not in the best shape and always felt unwelcome or intimidated at other gyms. After my first class here I was kicking myself for not just going for it earlier! I was happily welcomed the moment I stepped through the door. The coaches are all great and take the time to make sure you learn the movements correctly and encourage you to do your best. And it’s not just the coaches, everyone I’ve met here has been so nice and everyone helps keep each other motivated! This place was exactly what I needed to get me in shape and the amazing people here keep me coming back.
So I started getting into CrossFit about four years ago, but it was slow going in my own house with limited space and no external motivation. I finally joined a box this year, and it was the best thing I could have done. The coaches here at CFNP are amazing; they are coaches, not "personal trainers" and if you know what the difference is, you will know why it really matters. Since June of 2012, my endurance, speed, coordination, strength, attitude and life have improved. I will never look back or look for another place to train as long as I live in Clark County. Best Box in town!

Love the hominess where everybody can just jump right into any conversation. ☆The staff is amazing!☆ It's tight but that makes it feel more friendly. Karaoke nights are the best! So fun! I've enjoyed visiting with well-behaved fur babies. All that and a mix of yummy greasy diner favorites and an exemplary variety of classy burgers. And let's not forget the drinks! Make sure you have a designated driver!
We split the broasted chicken meal. The chicken was good and crispy, it could have used a little more flavor. The Jojo's were obviously cooked with the chicken because they were overcooked and fell apart. Service was good and prices were outstanding.
I have been wanting to check this place out for months now. I’ve heard such great things about the burgers and fish and chip Fridays! Finally made it in this last Friday and was surprised at how busy it was. The bar is pretty small, but they had pool tables and they also started setting up for karaoke by the time we were leaving. Staff was friendly, 3 different workers checked on us throughout our meal. We had burger and tots, large jojos and the fish and chips. Everything was good. The burger came with a really small amount of tots compared to other places. The fish and chips were good, pretty meaty. Will definitely come back again to try other things. Saw they had gizzards on the menu and I definitely wanna try that and the fried chicken next time!
I met a friend here for breakfast a few times and every time, the breakfast was hearty and delicious. The coffee was pretty good and the ambiance wasn't too bad for what was pretty clearly a simple tavern that served breakfast. It wasn't fancy, but neither were we, so it was a great way to start the day. I would not hesitate to go back there again.
It's a local bar located next to the post office. The food is always good and wonderfully priced. I've never had bad service. I'm always greeted with a smile. You gotta go in for one of their daily food specials. Sunday is two for one $3.75 tacos I think!
Came here after getting a tattoo consultation down the street. You can never go wrong with bar food. The breakfast was affordable, quick and delicious. I was impressed at how much filled me up. Great atmosphere too
Locals like this place, pool tables. Pleasent staff. Food is good. Nothing to fancy here but the atmosphere is great. Communal seating easy to meet new people.
Great local down home bar with daily happy hour food specials from 4-6. Great service and good food and beverages at a reasonable price.

Enjoyed a great weekend with the Classic 7 Series. Keep up the great work!
Nice spot, great track, plenty of vendors on race day. Only gripe was the utter chaos & being unable to tell where was safe to park a normal average-size vehicle. I went to meet up with someone from out of state & drove around 3 times before just pulling off to the side somewhere.
This place is awesome. I've been coming up here for over 20 years. Super fun atmosphere for MX races. Great track, and there are other non dirt bike events held here too. Mud Runs, Spartan race has been here and mountain biking events. Beautiful drive up washougal river rd to get to the track.
!!Review based on motocross event!! Minus the getting into the track, the venue was a blast. Round 8 pro moto. The peeps running ama moto are horrible but the track was fantastic. First, it took an hour to get in because they could only allow cash peeps through. Code readers are down, no backup generator, or extension cord. 1 staff, then about 8 came to watch people wait in line. With 1 person trying to get things working. Now the good. Pack full of peeps, riders were great, the views were awesome, and will go every year. If you are bad with hills, there are good spots on the bottom areas. But if not, there are so many places to go and watch. Worth the time. If you want good seats, get there early. Like 6 or 7am early. Just remember, this is moto, so keep an eye out. No matter what they do for safety, a bike can come out of nowhere. But do not let that stop you. If you like moto, than this is a must go.
Such a fun track. Been here several times for mx races and have always enjoyed the experience. Crazy dusty but well maintained. If you need to use the porta-potty, try to go early 😅
This place is why I love motocross. Beautiful track and surroundings, amazing staff, and truly a one of a kind experience. Have been to the nationals the past 3 years and will be back every year till I'm dead. WASHOUGAL MX PARK 🔥🔥🔥

Best fish and chips in town. Best tartar sauce I've ever tried. Great other menu items. Fantastic specials. The new chef has really turned this into a great place to eat. Lots of beer on tap. I can't wait to try breakfast on the weekend.
I came in to run karaoke and got some amazingly good food and had a great time with the staff and the patrons!
This place was like an oasis!! The bar tinder was adorable, and very kind. The atmosphere was super cool. They made the best out off what they had. OH!!! The outside area was All The Way Official!!! I really liked it.. had a little fountain out there.. But.. After I ordered my burger, it took a while, about 15 minutes. There was no explanation, and (don't get me wrong she was great!!) But I felt that the server could have offered me my tots first.. or Something. Still.. it's a good place. Maybe a little too down home for me.
Best for Alcohol but meals is okay. One server for ten active tables. Coffee doesn't taste like coffee so I recommend something else. Silverware forgotten at all tables and obvious things overlooked by very busy server. Heard good things but it was just okay and not planning on another try.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable, great food, reasonably priced and it seemed to be a popular spot. The bartender greeted others by name so it felt cozy because she knew her customers and everyone was different ages and groups. Highly recommend 👌 cute please we saw on Google passing thru Washington
My hub and I love your Taco Tuesdays! Delicious food for a great price. They offer gluten free substitutions for the tacos as well. A couple of weeks ago, they remade my tacos happily after I accidentally forgot to specifically request corn tortillas. The chief and waiter really went out of their way to make sure we were happy! Thank you for the great service! Keep up the amazing work!
Might as well order a kids meal with the size of the meals. Someone at the table ordered a kids meal and it was literally bigger than mine. If you ask for basic stuff they get annoyed. Just super underwhelming.
Their fries are to die for. Great, friendly service. Relaxing place. Definitely will be coming more often
