I had an amazing time at Krause Springs. This place is truly a hidden gem just outside of Austin. The natural spring-fed pools are crystal clear and super refreshing, and the whole property feels like a little oasis with huge cypress trees and a beautiful waterfall. I especially loved the rope swing and the little caves near the lower pool. It is such a fun spot to explore. Entry was only $10 per person for the day, which feels like a steal for how beautiful and well-kept the area is. If you want to camp or stay after 8 pm, it is $15, which is worth it because the place gets even more peaceful once the day visitors leave. I recommend coming early on weekends because it can get busy, but the line moves pretty quickly. Bring water shoes for the rocks and a float if you just want to relax in the water. Between the cool water, the gorgeous scenery, and the relaxing vibe, Krause Springs is now one of my favorite spots near Austin. I cannot wait to come back and maybe even camp overnight next time.
This is an amazing place and only $10.00 an adult! It is open 11 hours from 9-8. There is a gorgeously detailed garden area that we spent 2 1/2 hours in! It is a spectacular garden with beautiful fountains, hammocks, wind chimes of ALL sizes, thousands of butterflies & bees & an infinite amount of plant & flower species! Just amazing! Then you go into the springs and the natural fresh water pool is huge, cool & inviting! It goes from 3-8 feet deep and everyone using it seemed to really be enjoying it! The pool empties into a made natural waterway that drops about 100’ into the river below forming a natural waterfall that was so nice to go under! The river bottom is stone and flat in some places and edgy in others! I HIGHLY recommend water shoes for in here! When done in the river, just go to the edges and dry off on the rocks in the sun! We then went back to the car and got our lunch! After lunch we got to talking to a senior member of the staff and he told us of a spot in the lower end of the park for fishing and e went there for a few hours! All in all we were there till 4:45 pm and we got there at 9:15am! 7 1/2 beautiful hours for a mere $20 bucks! This place is a gem and we will be back!!
Was a 4-5 hour drive for my family to get here from the Dallas area, but it was absolutely worth it! We had an amazing end of summer day trip. The water was refreshing, the rope swing was thrilling, and all in all this location was stunning, between the waterfall, to the picnic areas and the butterfly garden. I've never seen so many beautiful butterflies.
Visited Krause Springs today, and it was such a refreshing and peaceful experience. The drive to the location was scenic and relaxing, setting the tone for a perfect day outdoors. The entry fee was $10 for adults, which is totally worth it considering how much there is to explore. I spent time walking through the beautiful garden area, checked out the man-made pool, and climbed over the slippery rocks near the springs — everything was absolutely stunning. The place feels natural, soothing, and scenic, making it a great escape from the city. I noticed quite a few people camping as well since there’s a dedicated camping ground, which looked like an amazing option for anyone planning an overnight stay. The overall vibe of the place was calm and positive — perfect for solo trips, family outings, or group adventures. If you’re looking for a beautiful natural spot to unwind, swim, or just connect with nature, Krause Springs is definitely worth visiting. Perfect for: Day trips, scenic drives, and camping getaways 🌿💦
Krause Springs is one of my all-time favorite locations to photograph in the Austin area! I’ve been taking photos here for years. From brand and lifestyle shoots to creative portraits and fine art nature photography and it never fails to inspire me. The light, the water, and the natural textures of the Hill Country make it such a beautiful and versatile location. Whether you’re looking for something earthy, adventurous, or peaceful, Krause Springs offers the perfect mix of magic and authenticity. If you’ve been wanting photos that feel natural, grounded, and full of life, this is one of my go-to spots for client sessions! - Camille Adriane Photography
Came across this place while searching for a pool when staying in Marble Falls. Location was pretty easy to find, a nice little drive thru hill country. There were plenty of parking so you don’t have to worry about that. The place itself is amazing, the little garden is a nice getaway to explore. The upper pool area was cleaned and well maintained, it was cold ( what you expect, it’s spring water ) but once you’re in it you’ll be fine. After the upper pool area there’s another pool at the bottom level which was really nice to check out and lounge, also around the area are some hidden water falls that’s a cool hike away. Overall I enjoyed it and so did my wife and son. Would definitely recommend it
Highly recommend a visit to Krause Springs if you ever want to take a dip! It’s best to go earlier in the day to enjoy the clearer water. We went afternoon on a weekend and it was packed with the water a muddy brown. Nonetheless it was a great time!! There’s restrooms and plenty of space to set up your group. There’s also a rope swing!
Krause Springs is simply a hidden gem! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene beauty of the surroundings. The lush greenery, along with the tranquil atmosphere, makes it an ideal getaway. The centerpiece, a stunning waterfall, is a must-see. Its cascading waters create a soothing sound that adds to the peaceful ambiance. Swimming in the cool waters beneath the falls was the highlight of my visit! Overall, Krause Springs offers a little piece of paradise for nature lovers and anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend!

We visited this vineyard for a friend’s bachelorette party, and we were thrilled to have found it! The service was exceptional—Cameron was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about the wines. The overall atmosphere is so peaceful, and there’s plenty of outdoor seating available. I can’t wait to come back and enjoy more time at this lovely vineyard!
Update 11-17-2024 Stopped by Spicewood for a “member’s wine pick-up” this week… good time! We arrived a bit late, so the cheese/fruit/nuts/crackers trays were a bit picked over, but it’s free food… LOL It was good. People had started to leave, so we were able to land primo seats on a patio. The staff are always friendly and nice! The wines are good, some of the estate vines are coming into their own. A fun and festive place, recommend stopping by… you’ll be a member before you know it! Feb 2024 Spicewood Vineyards is a very good TX winery, located in Spicewood, TX, a stone's throw from Dripping Springs, TX. We went on a Sunday, our first event at the winery, the 16th annual chili cookoff, and boy what fun it was. The winery location is beautiful, "out in the country" with beautiful views and a creek that runs right through the property. The wines are good, slight edge to the reds over the whites. The tempranillo is very good, as well as the Bordeaux-style red blend. On the white side, viognier was the star. Very friendly staff, even though the place was a zoo! Kids and pets welcome here! We liked it enough to join the wine club! The only suggestion for events of this type, have serving lines for members, that would be an extra little perk for those who have chosen to join the club! Recommend Spicewood Vineyards!
Beautiful property in the Texas hill country. Not too far from Austin and certainly worth the drive if you’re in town visiting. We stopped by mid day on Friday and it was t crowded at all. The staff is super knowledgeable, food is amazing, and the wine is of course superb!
Made an unplanned stop here on the way back to Austin from Marble Falls and SO GLAD we did! Beautiful vineyard and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and excellent wine selection. The red Zinfandel was very good. We will definitely be back to try the tasting. There is building separate from the tasting room that can be rented for weddings and events.
Beautiful winery tucked away in the hill country. Great place to have a wedding. Taste room host was very pleasant and welcoming. Plenty of parking around the winery. Short drive from Marble Falls
A lot of fun. Wonderful atmosphere -- very chill with rustic glamor. Chris was amazing! Her cheese suggestions completely elevated the tasting experience. Chris was knowledgeable and friendly. Totally customized the experience for us because we shared the estate tasting and customized the regular sampling. I learned in not into rose or pat mat haha. But we loved the Tandem, good guy(s), and muscat blanc. Also super friendly dogs made it feel more like home.
I got married here on 10/22/17. It was an absolutely gorgeous venue that worked perfectly with how I envisioned our wedding. Lauren, the events manager, helped out so much with making sure I did not forget anything during the planning stages and handled day-of coordination, which eased a lot of my stress. We also served their wine and it was just as good as the few times I'd had it before (visiting the venue and meeting with Lauren). I couldn't have imagined our wedding going any better, and Spicewood Vineyards was the perfect venue to hold it at.
Shout out to Cameron for taking such good care of us! Wish we could have stayed longer. Such a beautiful property! We look forward to coming back and enjoying your award winning wine. 🍷

I stayed at Juniper with my wife. The setting was scenic and a nice relaxing escape from the city. We slept really well. The room was cool and very well maintained. The location was perfect, as we were able to go hiking nearby in Inks Lake, and visit Austin. My only complaint was the short walk to the bathroom, which could probably be remedied by choosing a different treehouse.
Amazing stay. Traveled from Boston just after coming across this place on a quick Google search, and didn't disappoint. Great couples retreat. Quiet place away from city noise. The nest is probably not the place for kids or older adults given the bridges and stairs. Air conditioners was definitely a plus... stores are a bit far so be sure to buy snacks and drinks on your way there....and enjoy nature.
The Yoki tree house was absolutely amazing and exceeded our expectations! The Yoki is the farthest away from the main entrance and is very private and secluded. While we didn’t see a single person during our two night stay, staff were only a call/text away and were very friendly and responsive to any questions. The bath house for the Yoki is beautiful and was incredible to sit in the tub and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. The property provided robes and luxurious towels. The bedding was very comfortable with top quality linens and we slept well. It was so peaceful in the morning on the deck with a cup of coffee and watching/listening to the birds. While we didn’t use the pool, we walked around it and it was very clean/clear. Also loved the fact there were no televisions! Perfect retreat for a couple to reconnect with nature and with each other!!
We had a wonderful time in the trees! It was contactless check in/ out. No real onsite store Coffee /tea provided but that is all. Pool is more of a wading pool and could use some uplighting as we arrived after dark and could not find it. We got to feed the resident buffalo with one of the staff. But the tree house was fantastic. We were in the Nest!
We went here for our 7 year anniversary! We stayed at the Yoki and it was so relaxing and beautiful! We loved exploring the treehouse and seeing the Bison on the way in. The hot tub was lovely and we were surprised by how nice the bathhouse was! We found a couple ants in the kitchen but other than that it was a perfect getaway and we loved our experience!
This was a great experience. I enjoyed it, it was a unique and fun experience way to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The surrounding area has plenty to do for a weekend trip, and the view cannot be beat. We stayed in the Willow treehouse, and it was beautiful to walk across the suspension bridge and at the end of the night going into our little treehouse to get rest. The mornings were magical as birds are awakening and singing. The only thing I wish could have been different, I wish we had a bathroom attached to our room, but it was a luxury worth giving up to be able to experience the treehouse life for a weekend. You do hear cars pass by on the nearby road, but that didn’t bother us, we found it a little soothing.
I absolutely loved the atmosphere and friendly service at Cypress Valley! We were actually there during the catastrophic flooding of July 4th weekend. The dam overflowed and the main exit and entrance road was completely blocked by strong currents and water that was continuing to rise. We were asked to evacuate and assisted by Beau the property manager in doing so which I’m grateful for. I told staff I was worried about the costs because our trip was being cut short and they assured me it would be taken care of and the portion of our stay we weren’t able to attend would be refunded. This really helped me breathe a sigh of relief because it would have been a financial hardship in addition to a scary experience! It was a really impactful time and I am glad the staff was responsive and competent in handling the situation! I can’t wait to go back for future trips to enjoy the trees and nature!
Very fun experience. I do wish I knew the bathroom wasn’t easily accessible, and it was hot, and full of bugs. Kitchen and bedrooms were great. Cold AC in rooms. Clean. Easy drive from Austin.

I am obsessed with this winery. We had the most excellent service, and the wine was absolutely delicious. I love the story of how the wine owner is tied to all the different wines, and the Cuvees Cuddles is beyond! We will definitely be back due to the service and area!
So we came on Easter weekend to try out the vineyards in the area and this one was a definite miss. The good side is that the location is beautiful and the patio is comfortable. The bad was the general service and the wine. Peggy was so unorganized and couldn't figure out how to let us split a bill and was insistent on "I have other customers to service, so I have to run." She also gave one tasting note for one of the 4 wines we tried. Which we couldn't finish the wine tasting we paid for because the wines tasted so cheap and simple to the point that our party couldn't take it anymore. In addition, we got more staff complaints about being short staffed and "I can't figure out how to pay this" as opposed to "here's the tasting notes for X wine." Not to mention when we tried to order the Bordeaux Wine Taster, I was told "No, we can't let you do that because we're too short staffed and it's too intensive." It's cheese and wine... Save your money and go elsewhere. Pretentious people, cheap wine, and subpar service. Would NOT come back.
Went on April 25th while traveling to Spicewood for the weekend and had an absolutely extraordinary experience. I was treating my friend for her birthday weekend! The wine tasting was so fun! Our host Carolyn was on the spot always helping us out and making recommendations. I love the fact she took the time to tell us the background of Stonehouse Vineyards. It’s nice to learn what inspires others and getting them to their goals on their journey. I loved hearing about how people will volunteer to help with the harvest at the Vineyard. I hope to one day be able to do that. Everyone was so friendly , while also very attentive. I definitely plan to visit again soon.
Our visit to Stone House Vineyard was pure perfection from start to finish! The chef’s wine and food pairing was a masterclass in flavor — each course thoughtfully crafted and beautifully balanced with the wines. Truly a bang for your buck considering the quality and experience! A special shoutout to Angelica, our wine connoisseur, who was beyond wonderful. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and never once rushed us, allowing us to savor every sip and bite at our own pace. Her passion for the wines made the experience even more special. Stone House Vineyard is the perfect wine spot — breathtaking views, warm hospitality, and an unforgettable tasting that leaves you planning your next visit before you’ve even left. Highly, highly recommend! 🍷✨
What a cool place! Great wine and beautiful views. Wine bottles are very reasonable plus they have an awesome dog that kept us company ❤️
Absolutely five stars! Stone House Vineyard is a true gem, and our experience there was made all the more memorable thanks to Peggy. She was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and attentive from the moment we arrived. Peggy went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed, answered all of our questions with genuine enthusiasm, and made fantastic wine recommendations that we absolutely loved. One of the highlights was when she—completely unprompted—stood on a chair to get the perfect angle for our group photo. It was such a thoughtful and fun gesture that perfectly captured her dedication to making sure we had a great time. Her passion for the vineyard and commitment to excellent service truly stood out. We’ll definitely be back—thanks to Peggy and the beautiful atmosphere at Stone House Vineyard!
Last week our son got married at Stone House Vineyard and it was magical. They were married in front of an old oak tree with lake Travis in the background. Family and friends were amazed at how beautiful the scenery was, and local guests commented that Stone House Vineyard was a hidden gem and that they never knew it was there. As we turned to walk up the patio for dinner, the sun was just beginning to set casting a glow on the green vines. The tables were set with beautiful flowers and candles. This wedding would not have gone off as easily as it did if it had not been for Susan and her wonderful staff. Her timing was impeccable, and she made it her mission to see that every part of the wedding went off like clockwork. Kristine, an amazing and talented chef, served appetizers that were not only delicious but unique. Then came the dinner and the Wagyu beef tenderloin was out of this world. I heard one guest comment that it was the best meal he had in 47 years. Best of all, the wine was superb. We chose 3 wines from their collection; the Enargelia, a Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Grenache Blanc and all were incredible. My thanks go out to Stone House Vineyard for helping make this wedding a memory we will cherish forever.
Our visit to Stone House Vineyard was a true highlight of our anniversary vacation & and a delightful way to cap off our trip. The property is absolutely gorgeous - I mean you can truly just sit and relax for hours while you take in the stunning view. I had made reservations but we arrived a tad bit early and Liz was happy to accommodate us sooner. I’d like to take a moment to offer my sincerest appreciation for Liz as she made this experience so memorable for us. It was our first proper wine tasting and she truly took the time to explain every single wine to us - notes/scents to look for, best food pairings, explaining the difference in textures, where the grapes are from - I mean the whole nine yards. She even showed us the safer, beginner way to swirl the wine to really delight your senses before tasting. I had added a cheese board to our reservation which we thoroughly enjoyed! Liz was patient with all of our questions on the wine (and cheese), had a wonderful sense of humor, and just a lovely personality to deliver a phenomenal package of customer service. Every single wine we tried was delicious! We took home a bottle of Claros but we seriously wanted to take home one of each. If we weren’t relocating soon, we would 100% have signed up for their membership. If we get to visit the area again, we will definitely stop in. I highly recommend visiting!

Pretty much the coolest bar in Texas. Strike that, America. The owner is the literal Man. Fantastic stop over on the way to Austin. Wish I could give this place 6 Stars. The moonshine flight is a mandatory buy. Love it, Oh and the Booze is also delicious! Stop by and be happy.
A special place! Laid back and with out compromise . I would say a jewel about to be discovered in the Texas hill country. No food no Beer just good ol Home made Moonshine, distilled and bottled on site. They offer mixed drinks with their unique moonshine spirit flavors.
Had a great time at Crystal Creek! Came out with a group for a bachelor party. Fun environment, bumper pool, patio, and live music. The Orange Creamsicle was incredible, but can't go wrong with any drink on the menu.
What an awesome place! I've been here twice and the second time my dog joined me for the tour and tasting. This friendly hole in the wall moonshine distillery is located out in the Texas hill country. The owners are young and have an entertaining story to tell that varies slightly every time they tell it (enough to not get bored hearing it again). The inside is full of custom built character and the outside is bigger than any party you could pack into a dozen vehicles or a large party bus. If you want to enjoy some one of a kind moonshine-infused cocktails and see moonshining up close and personal without the explosions and blinding side-effects, add Crystal Creek to your tour of the hill country.
Visited this place for my husband's 30th birthday. Sam was having an issue with reservations and had no idea we there for a tour but that did not stop him from giving us a detailed tour and making us delicious cocktails!! We had so much fun hanging out in such a laid back environment! The drive there from Cedar Park was absolutely gorgeous too! We definitely found a fun distillery to visit!!
We came yesterday after having found out about it from a LivingSocial deal. To be honest, the deal wasn't a big discount, but Crystal Creek Moonshine is definitely worth a visit, or even a fun afternoon with a ton of friends. They have a cool indoor "bar" adjacent to where they distill, as well as a chill outdoor area with tables and chairs. The ambiance aside, we had a tour ran by Shane, who also gave us small communion cup samples of the different varieties of infused moonshine to try! He was a very personable and cool guy who made this less of a tour and more of a conversation about his experience in the business and the process and history of moonshine. And the moonshine itself is awesome as well! It's got a very clean, smooth feel to it, and it's priced very well given the fact that it's as smooth as far more expensive brand-name whiskey/vodka/gin. It's definitely a bit of out of the way, but worth a visit.
This place is like a second home to me. What a chill cool atmosphere. Rustic, relaxed in the hill country. Tons of games like pool, corn hole, ping pong, large connect four, chess, arcade games, and more. The drinks are delicious. And best yet, the owner's dog is amazing (the owner is not bad either 😉) and my dog loves playing with him. Great live music on Friday and Saturday! GO.. TODAY!!!
My friends and I had a great time at Crystal Creek a few weeks ago! Great drinks. Live Music. Free Pool. Giant Jenga. Corn hole. It’s like an adult playground! We will definitely be back!

A unique fun retreat from Austin! We enjoyed our two flights of whites and reds. The favorites were the White SB, Red CS. The red CS paired perfectly with my steak. The chicken with potatoes was our favorite dish! The marinade, paired with the chimichurri was delicious. The steak was also very tasty with the red wines. Cooked exactly as requested. Beautiful view, and feels a bit like we're returning Argentina for a winery visit.
I've lived in Spicewood for over 17 years and have driven pass El Gaucho numerous times saying one day I should check this place out. 3 minutes from my house. Well, today was that day. I made reservations for 4pm hoping not a lot of people would be there. Overcast, football games on. Score in my favor. I got there and was greeted by Bennett I believe is the owner, and Rodrigo who would be our server. My wife and I elected to dine inside. So happy there were no running around children which parents are ignoring because they're drinking with friends.🙏To our benefit we were the only patrons there. We grabbed a seat by the window and began our journey of a wonderful time. Rodrigo was very attentive and a pleasure to talk with since we were the only ones there. The inside was very cozy and the music was soothing. When we got there rock music was playing and I liked that a lot. I'm a metal drummer. Good choice Rodrigo. When the food began to arrive it's presentation was beautiful. We started with the ceviche which was very smooth and delectable. Also, 2 empanadas. So good we ordered 2 more. I ordered a glass of red wine which was amazing. My wife wanted a salad for the main course, Rodrigo accommodation to a little bigger than normal salad. I ordered the NY Strip steak and a side of mash potatoes. I can't really describe into words the taste. It was beyond awesome. The grilled steak flavor and hardly any salt in the mash potatoes the way I like it. Spot on. Went so good with my glass of red wine. Damn, what a magical time it was. I think next time we'll come on a Saturday evening to experience that and maybe the flank steak will be available. I highly recommend El Gaucho 👌 I think it is going to be our new go to staple place. A hidden gem. Like Spicewood was 15 years ago. Now...🤔.El Gaucho, Rodrigo we'll see y'all very soon. Thanks for a great time. We enjoyed ourselves. Something different.
We had such an amazing experience at El Gaucho! The view was amazing! We felt like we were in Italy. The food was great! The steak and empanadas were so delicious and clean! To top things off, the customer service was a 10/10! We highly recommend this spot!
This place is fantastic. Food was excellent and the setting is incredible. Services and staff also wonderful. Highly worth a trip out there.
We visited El Gaucho Winery for dinner and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the quality of the wines. The bife de lomo I was served was very tasty, although I had originally ordered bife de chorizo. That said, there were a few details that could be improved to make the experience much better. Our appetizer plates weren’t cleared before dinner arrived, which left the table crowded. The server kindly mentioned offering us an extra wine tasting, but in the end it didn’t happen. The side dishes also came out reversed between my wife and me, and while it was acknowledged, nothing was done to correct it. Toward the end, no dessert options were offered, and the restrooms could benefit from more frequent cleaning. Overall, the wines and food have great potential, and with a bit more attention to service and details, this place could easily become a top dining experience.
Loved the winery! It's such a cool place. All the wine from the tasting was delicious. Mark was kind and helpful with walking us through the menu. We also tried the ribeye and it was top tier. I will be back.
The restaurant takes reservations until 9 pm but they actually stop serving whenever the chefs decide to leave. We showed up last night at 8 pm, an hour before they closed, and they turned us away. We called tonight at 7 pm to make sure we could eat if we arrived at 7:20 pm, and the guy said that the cooks already left and they stoped serving food. The owner was trying to be nice last night and told us to come back! We tried… Also the assistant who we spoke with last night and on the phone was pretty dismissive and unapologetic. Not the best impression of a good restaurant. It’s a beautiful setting and the grill smells great. I hope they figure out the staffing issues.
The steak here was very delicious. Cooked to perfection and had a delicious taste. The wine was exceptional as well. Not only that, it was a very fair price. I would definitely come again, great date spot that doesn’t break the bank! The owners were also there and super kind and welcoming. Came with a group of friends and we all enjoyed and had a good time. The food does take a little while to cook to be prepared to wait but it’s well worth it.

I was fortunate to visit my sister in Austin in April 2024 during the peak season of the Bluebonnet, Texas's state flower. In one of those serendipitous coincidences, the park we had planned on visiting was closed, so we decided to visit Muleshoe instead, only to discover it is one of the best locations for Bluebonnet viewing in the Austin area. Located on Lake Travis, MBRA offers camping, picnicking, mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding, so I am sure it would be a fun visit other times of year, but felt truly magical during my visit.
It’s a beautiful area next to the lake Travis and there are fields of wildflowers till where the eyes can reach. There are nice spots to go and sit with friends, have picnic and just relax and watch the beautiful lake and the sun going down. Everything is beautiful and green and magical.
Great 3-day getaway for our family!! The site was clean and easy to navigate The river is easy to drive to from any of the sites and the staff were happy to help with questions! Mobile pay was out when we arrived, so we just booked a campsite If you are coming for a day trip, just bring cash ($5 per adult, kids 12 and under are free 👌)
Came here camping for my birthday and for BLUEM, loved the ATV tours that was fun! Bathrooms are always clean and tidy, it’s always nice coming out here and seeing the bluebonnet fields when they bloom. Will include pictures that we took from last year in March of the bluebonnet fields.
An hour driving is worth! This view is simply stunning and breathtaking scenery! Thanksgiving that I'm a Texan! So pretty flowers! *Friendly reminder: Please do not step into the flowers field. There are many spots that can take very nice pictures. Just patient and wait. Enjoy the scenery when waiting. Let later coming people can enjoy it too😉
One of the best places to see a full field of spring flowers blooming and never overcrowded. It has many great trails to explore and easy river access.
We visited for BLUEM 2024 to view all the bluebonnets and enjoy the many other activities they had. Activities likes UT rides, axe throwing, archery, slides, face painting, a petting zoo and more. It was a great time, and the children enjoyed all the activities. The trails went all along the many fields of bluebonnets, allowing for great photo opportunities, but also lots of great places to hike and experience a nice outdoor experience. It was a lot of fun and we'll be back again.
I wanna start by saying the trails out here are great. Definitely worth the trip for a hike or MTB ride. I also wanna say that the facilities are totally adequate. Clean bathrooms and such. But man, camping out here was a wild experience. It started by arriving to someone having helped himself to our reserved site (we talked to him in the morning, he knew it wasn't his but he thought it was fine to take it because no one was there when he arrived). It continued until after midnight with some neighbors who thought setting off fireworks during a extreme drought was a good idea (good thing they knew how to use the fire extinguisher they bought). And then I was awoken in the middle of the night by some ligit machine gun fire in the distance. All that might appeal to some, but I'll stick to day trips in the future.

Second time visiting Iron Wolf - and as before, it’s been the ideal Texas hill country experience. Great staff, excellent service and outstanding spirits. Do stop by and try Cindy’s specialties: sausage on a bun or tacos. Thanks for a wonderful time Iron Wolf!!
Great place. We had an amazing time here on New Year’s Day. Drinks were very good. The live music was top notch. The owner was amazing. The 2 lady bartenders were amazing. The owner was hustling everywhere cleaning and making sure everything was perfect. As a business owner I love to see the pride he has for the place. However there was one guy behind the bar that was very unfriendly. Not sure what his issues were but very much not a people person at all. He was rude when placing orders and one word answers to our party that was going to buy merch. We were going to buy quite a few items but decided not to just off his bad attitude. Scolded my brother in law by just saying no, no, no for looking in an opened case of whiskey by where we were checking out. However we would return and It is a very awesome place to hang out and employees come and go.
Can’t say enough good things about Iron Wolf! From the staff to the customers we felt very welcome! We brought our dog with us and he was just as accepted as anyone who came through the door! Of, and the spirits? They were amazing! You’ll love their bourbon and some of their surprise infused mixes! Good bye bourbon trail and hello Iron Wolf!!
Beautiful venue with an impressive big sky view. Nice folks own the place and have created a nice social atmosphere. I got the pulled pork street tacos from the food truck and they were flavorful, colorful and nourishing to my belly! Big thanks to team!
Our group of eight had a wonderful experience at iron Wolf distillery recently. We popped in on a Sunday afternoon for a tasting and live music and ended up staying for two craft cocktails and lingering on the porch. The vibe is very fun. They have a lot of different spirits to choose from, a few that surprised me! Seriously, try them all, even if you don’t think you care for gin or bourbon. The staff was very welcoming, and there was ample parking and a lot of seating and games outside as well. We will definitely be going back!
Great venue and great owners. It is a must visit when down in the hill country of Texas. Ohhhhhhhh and the bourbon is fantastic.
Excellent setup, terrific guided tasting option, amazing staff and ownership, veteran and dog friendly plus very well done amplification for soundstage. Oh, and outstanding distilled options - I'll particularly happy to recommend their Hot Scotch.
Came out to this awesome place for my friends Bachelorette party and we are so glad we did. We had such a great time looking around and getting to try the spirits. The weather was great, the music, drinks and the pizza!!! The owner or manager was super sweet and welcoming. Overall it was great, they have a beautiful deck, games for children and plenty of seating. I definitely want to come back!

If you are an experienced rider and do not have horses of your own and want to go somewhere that has horses that will actually listen and perform beyond the typical nose-to-tail, and you want a little more freedom in your ride, then this is the place for you! You will NOT find another stable in 300 miles that will give you the freedom and responsibility that Silver's Trails will. However, if you are completely inexperienced, then you are in the best of hands, both horses and owners. But this is not your typical trail-ride. The horses will walk leisurely nose-to-tail if desired, but they will also do pretty much whatever you ask them without any arguing. Most trail horses have been dumbed down and trained to stay on the trail at a walk no matter what, for the safety of young ones. Understandable. With the liability comes limitations. Silver's Trails has eliminated that liability by not allowing riders under 17 on the trails. If you are expecting large pristine barns, go elsewhere, this is a small operation that is meant to cater to a special crowd, and the price is beyond fair. You would pay more than double elsewhere for such a privately-catered ride. ENJOY!

Update as of Mar 2023 Day use -$5 to be posted at the entrance. Has a beautiful view of Colorado river and is good for a walk. Located in interior part of spicewood. Good place for fishing or for a walk.
It was relaxing and peaceful chilled while the kids went in the water with the dogs and then sat on the tailgate eating chili what a beautiful view bathroom was full of birds nest but other than that a nice little soot
First, they closed access to Max Starcke Dam, a longtime favorite fishing spot, and now the Narrows—another popular spot for kayaking in high water and wading in low water. Is the LCRA system profit-driven, or just anti-fishing? We love both places, please open them to allow for public access!
Narrows Recreation Area is one of my top choices for Paddling access for Paddle-Trips/Trails - Kayak, Canoe, Paddleboard. on Lake Travis, Texas. Texas Paddling-Trip/Trail - NARROWS TO UPPER SHAFFER BEND VISUALLY EXPERIENCE from the PADDLERS' POV 1 Paddle-Day - approx 3.5 Paddle-Hours (actual Trip-Miles will vary) along approx 9 River-Lake-Miles on upper Lake Travis/Lower Colorado River, Texas Including - (most relevant) Cliffs/Bluffs - Caves - Sometimes Islands/Sandbars - large Rocks/Boulders - Wildlife. Lake/River-Mile 58.5 Looping back to Narrows Recreation Area LCRA
Nice park for a walk along the Colorado River, Offers boating, fishing & picnicking.
This is a boat ramp parking lot, but it is not very busy and you can easily get to the water. If your looking for a quiet area on the lake, this is pretty nice.
It is so ridiculous that it took them more than a year to evaluate the access. We People should get together and ask them to reopen it!! PUBLIC TAXES SHOULD NOT GO TO PRIVATE BUSINESSES FOR PARKS>
Very nice little park. Bathroom door does need to be fixed as you can not latch it, but hey it's a launch point and there are picnic tables.

Absolutely gorgeous, incredibly well kept camp ground. We met the Host, Ms. Kramer and knew within 30 seconds that this woman was incredibly passionate about her work. It shows in the remarkable attention to detail, and cleanliness of the campsite. She was quick to offer us a map of the hiking trails, as well as up to date advice on what to expect. The water has been gone for a couple of seasons, and your GPS map is likely to be inaccurate as to where the river is.
Grelle Recreation Area is an absolute must! The campsites are immaculate - well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully spaced for a comfortable stay. The pricing is very fair, especially considering the quality of the amenities. There’s so much outdoor fun to enjoy, from scenic hiking trails to relaxing by the campfire. The BBQ grills are a great touch, making it easy to cook up a meal while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Fishing opportunities are plentiful, adding to the peaceful and fun atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for adventure or just a quiet escape in nature, this place has it all. Highly recommend!
This park is an amazing hiking destination. We went on a Saturday morning and pretty much had the place to ourselves. The trails were great! I'd like to come back some time when there is water in the lake.
My husband and I took a spontaneous camping trip. We intended to go to Pace Bend Park but they were fully booked for primitive camping. We took a short stop on the side of the road to figure out our next step. Looking up places around us, we found Grelle Rec. Park. Called to check if they had any availability and a sweet Lady named Linda said “come on down, I got you guys”! She and her sweet dog met us at the entrance. We followed her down to one of the overflow sites where we ended up pitching our tent. A view with hills, water and Blue bonnets everywhere. Linda saved our weekend and this sweet lady didn’t just take the time out of her day to meet and talk with us, she keeps the whole place clean. Dogs are supposed to be on a leash but we went down to the beach and let the dogs go crazy, like many other campers did. Everyone was friendly and cautious of other people around. Thank you, Linda. We very much enjoyed our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Grelle! Linda and Cricket are the best. We've never felt more welcomed at a park before. We camped in a tent with 2 adults, 2 teens, and our dog. Grelle has a lot of shaded hiking and many offshoots to explore. I don't think there has been water at Grelle for a long time so we definitely were surprised by that but it didn't take away from our experience as it was a bit chilly anyway. There is 1 portopotty as well as the restroom(which we didn't end up using because it was much farther). Take wood with you or Linda has some she can sell you, cash is easiest it seemed. We stayed at campsite #4 and it was a great spot near the portopotty (not too close) and it was a large campsite with a tall fire ring drum that made making a fire in the windy conditions both easier and safer. We hope to return soon!
We enjoyed the first annual (or more) Heart of Texas Fly-In at the Grelle Rec area. The large dry lake there provided an excellent Landing Zone for our paramotors. People came to ohhh and ahhh at us flying around. All had a blast. Many thanks to our host and Lone Star Paramotor.
The host was so sweet and polite! Sadly the drought in texas is very bad. Good thing the hike was very nice over to the lake. Love how clean the restroom was and loved how she made the toilet paper cute! 10/10 definitely gonna have to come back sometime soon!
Grelle Recreation Area 12/09/2019 is a excellent launching point (except during very low lake water levels) for the Paddle Trip - Grelle, Turkey Bend, Muleshoe Loop. approx. 3.5 Paddle-Hours along approx. 7 Lake-Miles on upper Lake Travis, Texas including Grelle - Turkey Bend - Muleshoe Recreation Areas A Paddle-Trip Loop from Grelle Recreation Area - (upper Lake Travis - south shoreline) to Turkey Bend Recreation Area (upper Lake Travis - north shoreline - Muleshoe Recreation Area (upper Lake Travis - South Shoreline) - Looping back Grelle Recreation Area. May thru early June are good months for this trip because of the Bluebonnets that are abound then, excellent Bluebonnet paddle trip.

I have been to several events for Poodie's Anual Party and NORML and everyone has the Best Time!
I didn't play it, but wanted to see what the whole Willie Nelson thing was all about. By the looks of hole one and putting green, it's needs some love. I would have liked to see the layout as I read the course has character and a good layout. Maybe in the near future, but not this time.
Pedernales is a great little 9-hole course that's perfect for a quick round. The layout is fun and relaxed, and it's never too crowded. The fairways can be a bit rocky in spots, but it's nothing that takes away from the overall experience. If you're looking for a casual, low-key game in a scenic setting, this place is a solid choice.
0 stars was not available course fairways are dirt. Prices are high for the course. Kinda shit service. Basically expect the worse and be glad you found your ball. Real golfers avoid this place not worth it.
It’s an impressively bad course with very friendly staff :) So if you are looking for grass you need to hit from the tee box to the green because you will be hard pressed to find any on the fairways. If you are looking for a bachelor party to get drunk (BYOB) and hit a few balls… this fits the bill. If you want to actually play a good round I would look elsewhere.
Thank you Nelson family for having Us
I get it. This is a novelty course. But it surprises me that Willie would allow his name to be used on a course that is in such unplayable shape. The layout and design of the nine-hole course is impressive. Great elevated tee boxes and greens. But the fairways are not hard as rocks - they are rocks! A perfect drive down the middle of the fairway can result in a ball that ricochets off rocks into the dense brush out of bounds and lost forever. The charm of the place lasts about two holes before you realize the risk of breaking an expensive iron and losing about 20 balls is not worth it. The sad thing is this course has tremendous potential. It could easily be among the top nine-hole courses in the state. Instead, by the fourth hole, you are thinking the ninth hole can’t come soon enough.
This is the epidomy of cool in the hill country golf world. Fran at the clubhouse will take excellent care of you and you never know you might see out there.. Willie also generously loans the property for benefits and events that his heart is close to. You will love this place!

We had Heather out for two mobile massages in Marble Falls to kick-start our girls weekend and she is AMAZING! She gave us individualized massages that reached some deep knots, and was quick to adjust pressures or placements whenever we needed. She was pleasant, professional and friendly to boot. I am truly impressed by her skills, and would highly recommend her to anyone.
Kim is one of the most kindest individuals I have ever met. She really takes the time to listen to you and your needs/wants. I have been seeing Kim for over a year and keep coming back for more. I have used her sugaring, massage, and facial services and love every single one of them. She has even came to my home and gave my kids facials. She takes her time to help us make sure we all have our correct facial regimen to make sure our skin stays as healthy as possible. I highly recommend her to everyone. She won't disappoint.
Kimberly did an amazing job!! She was super friendly and easy to get along with. Definitely not an awkward experience having her do my Brazilian. I felt extremely comfortable!! When it comes to waxing, definitely choose sugar hair removal. Some of the benefits: With sugaring, your hair may grow back softer and thinner than before, especially the more you do it. It may also cause less irritation than waxing. I will recommend her to my friends and will definitely be following up with her from here on out. Highly, HIGHLY recommend
Highly recommend. Kimberly is very good at what she does and provides a very zen atmosphere for facials. Great experience, she is my go-to from now on. She also provides other services such as sugar waxing and massage. Book now, you will be happy you did!
Cannot recommend Kimberly enough! She did the oxygen facial, a 60 minute massage and waxing on me today and I feel like a whole new woman. She explains and educates without overwhelming and knows her craft. My skin already feels amazing. I can’t wait for my next treatment!
I cannot recommend Heather enough for a massage! She is truly exceptional in her skills. I've been seeing her for over a year now and she has made such a difference in my muscle recovery and overall well-being. 10/10!!
My friend and I traveled to Spicewood for a weekend getaway. We booked 90 minute massages and facials. Firstly, this was the best massage ever. Kim is truly amazing. Secondly, the facials were equally relaxing! It was my first facial and she made me feel totally comfortable as she performed the extractions and everything. I started to fall asleep at the end of the facial because it was so relaxing and helped melt everything away. She also has a welcoming and positive vibe. Thank you for a wonderful experience, Kim!
Heather gave me one of the best massages. I went in extremely sore and in a good amount of pain from sleeping on my shoulder poorly. When she was finished, I was able to move pain-free and 100% relaxed.
