We came to Hot Springs Resort and Spa for a bachelorette party, and it was the perfect choice! The atmosphere was both fun and relaxing—exactly what we were looking for. The hot springs were amazing, and we loved being able to unwind together while still celebrating. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and everything felt well taken care of. It was such a unique and memorable experience, and we all left feeling refreshed and happy. Highly recommend for group getaways, girls’ trips, or anyone who just needs a little time to relax and recharge!
I went there a couple years ago to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing time! I booked the natural hot spring for 90 minutes. It wasn't a terribly hot day. So, make sure when you go, it's not very hot if you're spending that length of time. Cost is not extremely expensive. It does depend if you are staying somewhere nearby. It's a small town and I feel the greatest attraction would be the springs. I love it though! The food nearby is awesome! The salad I ordered has a salad dressing that hasn't been recreated around TN. The music nearby was wonderful as well as the small shops.
We stayed at the Hot Springs Resort Campground and for $60 a night you can get a tent site with water and power. The water spigot doesn't have a regulator so it shoots out 4 feet so be ready. The riverfront view is beautiful and the river itself is really lovely. We have been going to this campground since before Hurricane Helene and it's clear the owners just don't care about the campground then or now. The bathrooms have always been rough and disgusting and this year they put pot a potties around which maybe kindof helps... If you pay $45 for the tent site without power and water there is no public spigot for you to refill containers at. The whole place is just rough, it's a real shame since the river is beautiful and I wish they would just invest some time and money on good bathrooms and cleaning the place up and paving the gravel road. The cabins our friends have stayed in are really nice and have linens now. Note: the river tent site pictured is D7
My wife and I visited Hot Springs Resort and Spa and rented a tub for an hour to soak in the hot springs mineral water. The cabanas were private with an amazing view of the Spring Creek. When I say we are completely refreshed and renewed by our session at the Spa, it is definitely worth a visit. Highly, highly recommend to visit. The pictures and video are from our soaking tub. This was the view that we got to experience during our time. Peaceful and serenity is how I would describe the wonderful time spent there was.
Utilized the mineral baths only not the resort. We relaxed in the Cascade mineral bath cabana and it was an amazing experience. Very rejuvenating and calming. You can hear the river from the cabana and have complete privacy. We soothed our sore muscles after a long day of hiking…the perfect way to end the day. The fire pit and heaters kept us warm after our mineral bath time ended which made for an easy transition back into our street clothes. The staff was helpful with our reservation and proper accommodations. I would recommend this to anyone traveling through!
My husband and I completely fell in love with Hot Springs Resort & Spa during our stay at Deluxe Cabin #10! Nothing beats having a private mineral bath at your disposal day and night, and it is absolutely heavenly to soak in the tub after a hike. The cabin itself was serenely located beside the river; the interior was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything you might need for your stay. Hot Springs Resort’s staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in and out was a seamless process, and we had absolutely no issues with any part of our stay. If you are looking for a completely peaceful and relaxing romantic get-away, look no further than Deluxe Cabin #10 - you will not regret it! We are already looking forward to booking again. Thank you for everything! NOTE: This place is POPULAR. We recommend booking 6 months - 1 year in advance of your trip. It books up quickly.
It was my first visit today back to Hot Springs from Asheville following Hurricane Helene. A 5 star experience as usual! When I made the booking over the phone, the agent who helped me encouraged me to get there early due to ongoing construction work on the bridge into town, so I arrived about 20 minutes early for my scheduled soak. My tub/cabana area was already available, and so they let me get an early start and an extra 15-20 minutes of soaking time! Thanks, Hot Springs!! Can't wait for my next visit back.
I'll start by saying this was my first time visiting the city of Hot Springs. Friends that visit frequently told me about it being on the Appalachian Trail and how it was devastated by the flooding from Helene. Hot Springs Resort and Spa is a very nice and spacious facility that, like the rest of the town, still has a few repairs going on. The staff was very friendly and we didn't have any issues at all. I loved this campground and the setups and access along the water. We booked a full hookup campsite at this place with our friends for a weekend. This will be a great summer spot to come back to. It does need gravel put back on the roads throughout the campground as it got pretty muddy after a big storm. Everything was functional, but everywhere you look is evidence a flood came though and changed what it used to be. I tried to reserve a soak in the hot tub when I arrived, but there wasn't any available times all weekend. I would recommend reserving this before you visit. I was sad not to experience it, but that's another reason for me to come back. In walking distance, there are many food options and some local bars. The city sidewalk is literally part of the AT. We walked down it and back into the mountains for a nice hike to some scenic overlooks. Keep up the great progress and and I look forward to returning.

Landmark bald mountain offering hiking paths, a section of the Appalachian Trail & panoramic views.

Amazing views of western NC and eastern TN. We timed it out wrong so we missed the sunset, but it was still an amazing view. I recommend bringing chairs to sit at the top of waiting for the sunset or sunrise. It was very windy during our trip, and I suspect that is normal for the face of the bald, so secure your hats and sunglasses! Overall, a pretty easy hike for prime views.
Such a beautiful place, especially during wildflowers bloom! The smell 😍 Although there is no restroom! And easy to keep off the trail, also better to wear long pants and cover your legs
Max Patch is absolutely breathtaking with rolling grassy balds and 360° mountain views that feel like you are standing on top of the world. But getting there is an adventure in itself! The last several miles of the drive are up a narrow, winding gravel road with blind curves and steep drop offs. My little sedan made it fine but I was gripping the wheel the whole time and it was definitely a white knuckle scary drive in spots. Take it slow and watch for oncoming cars. Once you reach the trailhead the hike is short and moderate and the payoff is instant with panoramic Blue Ridge views perfect for a picnic or just cloud watching. Tips: • Plan to leave before sunset unless you have a high clearance vehicle and nerves of steel. The road is even trickier in the dark. • Bring layers because the wind at the top can be surprisingly strong. • Pack out all trash since this fragile bald needs care. Even with the hair raising drive I would do it again in a heartbeat. The sunset from the summit is unforgettable so make sure you are already headed down the mountain when it starts!
Heavenly place. Easy hike, nothing steep. Toddlers friendly. No restrooms miles away from this place.
Loved this hike. So beautiful. Get there early minimal parking..
This mountain has a really beautiful view, and a lot of adventures to explore! Tbh, this is a great mountain 🏔️! But it's complicated to get to the mountain. Overall, I love this mountain! 11/10!!!
Definitely the best place to see sunset around Smoky. And easy to get to the summit, you can drive the most way. If you like to go cross-country, you can try the other trail, instead of the main wide road. I used my Civic and made to the top. It is fun. It is a part of Appalachian trail, very cool place.
So pretty so worth it the walk is not far at all and it’s really easy from where you park. The roads are kind of tricky though to get there so just be careful!!

Rodney (owner) is a pleasure. His shop has everything you need to make your float (water shoes, phone protection, etc) amazing. These little personal rafts were great too…very stable! Rodney was at the pick up spot before we arrived making things really easy. We highly recommend the trip and the price was right!
We had a fantastic day on the river with Chad. He was very experienced, ensuring we truly had the best time on the river. We tried new routes and had some fun bumps! The owners were really nice and made sure our girls had splash jackets because it was a little cool outside. Overall, it was a very friendly and fun experience!
We had an amazing time with this adventure group. We would highly recommend them for your next rafting adventure. The guides were great and very knowledgeable of the river and surrounding areas.
4 x 70 year olds, slightly apprehensive. This was the best, 2 top blokes, sunny day, warm water, thank you both so much. Highly recommended. Businesses here need tourists, the Hurricane devastated the area, but it's up and running, just needs YOU....
Family had a fantastic time. Floated in Mini Cat rafts from Hot springs to private take out. Very friendly and professional employees and a great gift shop.
We went down the French Broad on funyaks a year ago, and I can't wait to go back. Prices are reasonable, and the owner is a laid-back, friendly animal lover. I can't recommend this highly enough.
Love these guys! They know the river so well and have the best staff. Highly recommend their tours.
We had an amazing time on our rafting trip! Rocky was our guide and he made sure we did everything right and knew what to do in case of emergency or falling out. We will definitely be back!

Cute little coffee shop. There shop was destroyed in Helene so they are in this temporary space. Friendly staff. Clean restroom. We had a drip & a chi tea latte. Cute gifts too. Stop by and support them.
Very friendly staff. Great tea /coffee and plenty of neat gifts ! I think this may be at a temp location due to the hurricane. They were even giving out dry socks to through hikers in need! The rescued plants were really neat to see.
Appalachian hospitality at it's finest. Beautiful little small town coffee shop rebuilding in their community, just moments away from Hot Spring Spa. My zero sugar green protein smoothie was delicious! But we were there for Pasha's gem collection and shop in the back. While we snagged several gifts upfront, the gems salvaged from flood waters were the true treasure for us at this shop. I found a larger piece I've been searching quite a while for. Her assistant and the young man running the coffee shop were excellent hosts. We can't wait for a return visit, I only wish I'd gotten the sweet young people running the shop names, for next time!
Great coffee and amazing artwork all over ... I understand they moved and I'm not quite sure to where, so I'll have to go back to Hot springs and find out and update this post further
Headed south from Lexington and on a detour from I40 this great shop popped up and was just what we needed. Coffee, ice cream, nice folks, inviting, clean, and friendly are just a few words that seem perfect this lil store. Might make the detour the way I pass through the area from now on.
Fantastic place! Great service by the two different baristas who made great drinks. Young man’s music playlist was enjoyable. Made three visits while in the area.
Stayed in hot springs for the weekend and went every day to this shop! Staff was always friendly and coffee was absolutely delicious. Their chai latte was also very delicious! The space has comfortable seating options and quite the amount of crafts, jewelry, plants etc to wander around and look at! Also if you're an avid sticker collector of woodsy animal stickers, they've got quite the selection! This shop is all around cozy, quirky and full of fun artsy vibes! Absolute gem of a place!
Always a fun and different experience with every visit. As a gallery for local artists, the art can be consistent or vastly different, but always full of interesting things to see, and I love purchasing the art to support artists. From soap to watercolors to painted skulls to stickers, there is a little bit of everything. Also on site, the is a great coffee and ice cream shop. An affrogatto is the perfect mix of both.

Beautiful trail overlooking the French broad river in hot springs. Pretty steep incline but it is definitely worth it with very rewarding views. The pups loved it. About a 2.2 mile loop trail. Two different parking lots. Plenty of pulloff spots to check out the river and have a snack. No bathrooms
A Beautiful hike. The trail is well marked with additional trail options to the loop larger. Amazing views and just minutes from Hot Springs, NC
This was a great trail with a steep incline and amazing views of downtown Hot Springs. It’s a 1.6 mile loop but the first half is straight uphill. We managed just fine hiking with a family with 3 kids on a warm day but be prepared for a steep trail. Beautiful views with good restaurant options in town, now open after Helene.
This would make my favorite type of day hike: short, steep, a little challenging and super scenic. Plus there are loads of gorgeous wild camping spots near the river. If you're thru-hiking it makes a good spot to set up camp near town(about a mile away from the grocery store) without actually paying for lodging.
The town of hot springs is a nice place to visit. But the hurricane Helen from last year took alot of suffering out so they are in the process of rebuilding alot of the stuff they had. They had small cabins you could rent. You could stay at the resort that also have private hot tubs that the natural springs filled up ab so relaxing. They are working on rebuilding them . Nice store that cooks food an has groceries an all kinds of neat stuff there was a few restaurants there but I think they are rebuilding then aswell . They have hiking trails. I think they have a rafting company too. But hopefully they will get everything rebuilt. My photo is where we was doing some work there
Trekking poles recommended. This climb can be steep. We, there were four of us , hiked the loop counter clockwise. Judging by the slope going down it was easier climbing the way we went. The trail starts along the river and you get the sound of water over the shoals before numerous switchbacks take you up fairly steep inclines to the top. There are a few nice lookouts to view the scenery before making your way back down . The descent seemed very steep. I had to make sure my foot was well planted before taking a step. I began with a heel to toe stride but the steepness of the slope had my heel slip a few times. Thanks to the clouds breaking up we had a nice view from the outlooks. We enjoyed our hike very much. The trail did not seem muddy at all even though there was some rain in the area in the morning.
A very fun and rewarding hike. It’s a steep trail but not too difficult. The views are beautiful and the outdoor air feels great. It’s a little tricky to get to the parking because the bridge is currently under construction. You have to actually go on a road that goes under the bridge. It looks like an active construction area but the road is still open.
Pretty easy hike. There's a little bit of an elevation gain. We had an issue with parking and signage. We use AllTrails app and it took us to park where there's a put in point for the river and it was packed. Didn't get a spot there and realized later there was a sign that indicated there was additional parking up the road, however, the sign was down. We took the loop clockwise from the "upper" parking area for lack of better clarification. In my opinion, it seemed to be easier than the counterclockwise option. There was a pretty good incline but it wasn't incredibly rocky and it was shaded for the most part. If you chose the counterclockwise option, there were more rocks/steps and switchbacks and the tree cover wasn't as great. The view from Lover's Leap was pretty and it's a nice spot to enjoy a snack and drink to recharge. The hike down is super easy. My advice, get there early if you're planning to travel on a busy weekend.

Great service with a lot of great art work. From jewelry to pottery. The one thing you will notice is that the locals who come in will give you great suggestions on where to go and what art you should purchase. You may find yourself inside talking with various people for hours. It was fun.
Super neat store and coffee shop! I love all the detail within the store and local artistry available! It’s a gem!
I always stop here when visiting Hot Springs because the shop is the cutest little coffee shop with local art and trinkets. A variety of of coffees, smoothies and homemade snacks. Atmosphere outside the shop is a great entrance to hot springs. Check this place out!
This is a wonderful, eclectic spot! They seem to specialize in quality, local food, drinks, and handmade goods. The coffee is locally roasted and the pastries + baked goods seem homemade as well. There's a nice mix of quality treasures & convenience items.. even some paddling gear & essential accessories in the corner. (see hours in pictures)
Coffee was great! Stopped here as we were passing through from an overnight on the Appalachian Balds. Coffee was properly made and hit the spot! It was exactly what I needed to push me through the drive. Cool little trinkets and some supplies in the store as well.
This is a charming little store nestled next to a river on the way from Asheville to Hot Springs. They have food, tea, coffee, and all kinds of various local crafts and a few bits of tourist merchandise, like tshirts. The store also offers some services for hikers.
Really cute shop. Nice selection of coffee and teas. As well as edibles. Lots of interesting knick knacks to look at & buy. Right near the trailhead. Picnic tables outside. Porto John too. Beware of snakes hanging around the water!
This place is so cute! It has a lot of goods for sale. I got a cortado & it was perfect! The barista was so nice. I didn’t have a mask with me walking in but she was happy to give me one

Went up and shot a round of 50 while in the area for a Men’s retreat at The Cove. Had a great time. The course was challenging and presented the clays in a variety of ways. Will definitely be going back. Property was nice and neat, walked the course, and the owners are super nice and welcoming. Go shoot and enjoy!
One in a million spot! Love coming here as often as I can. Awesome course with a wide variety of presentations. Everyone is always welcoming and happy to help as evidenced by the photos!
Gorgeous property and a variety of shots at the different stations. I had a lot of fun here. Some of the stands and gun racks are old and it’s easy to tell; some could use an update. Overall, a fun spot I recommend!
Went here for both my bachelors weekend as well as a friends. It was a great time on both occasions. Well designed course with every type of approach you could think of. I can’t wait to think of an excuse to head back that direction for a day of shooting clays with my buddies.
My friends and I had such an awesome experience here. Jon was an A++ instructor and guide. My girlfriend had never fired a gun before and he helped her not only feel comfortable but also get halfway decent by the end of the day. Amazingly beautiful landscape, and great variety in the clays as well.
Fantastic spot for some fun recreation. A group of old friends went for a few hours and just had a blast - all pun intended. Very friendly and helpful folks. The area is beautiful but a wee bit hard to get to. Once you arrive, it's a great place and a lot of fun!!
We always enjoy our time at Fowler Farms sporting clays! Have been frequenting over the past 15+ years. The Fowlers are very nice folks and make you feel at home.
A beautiful winding drive through Marion County ends you up at Fowler Farms. The family that runs this course clearly takes pride in their work. They are extremely friendly, willing to explain and help with anything you need from borrowing eye protection to renting a gun to shoot the course. They even have cart rentals if you want to skip walking the course it have physical limitations. I haven’t shot clays in over a decade so I tagged along with some friends on a laid back Saturday. The course itself is very well marked and maintained, winding along a canopied old logging trail. I would bet that even when they are busier than they were that day, the spacing and pacing of the course works great with a higher volume of shooters. It was a lot of fun to watch my friends do the course (they shot 50 clays each though there is the option to do 100 and even pay $0.50 per clay over those limits if you want to) and while I don’t have a ton to compare it to, the cost was very reasonable. We will definitely be back again soon!

Came section hiking through Hot Springs, NC a few weeks back and stopped into this true backpackers/river adventures/cartgraphers/ souvenirs gem! It literally has something for everyone who is an outdoor enthusiast. The owner, Wayne, is delightful to chat with, and his team is friendly and knowledgeable about all your outdoor needs. This small business has been around for 26 years, and for good reason! Don't even think about it. If you're in or near Hot Springs, you should stop and shop. Happy Trails or Rapids people!
The store has relocated to 88 Bridge St. :) Next door to the Welcome Center is the Bluff Mountain Outfitters ! The store supplies a little bit of everything Hiking, Camping, and AT :) a must stop while hiking the AT and stopping in Hot Springs !
Went in here to pick some supplies for running the trail. I was pleasantly surprised with the plethora of items that is necessary for hiking the AT. The staff was very knowledgeable about the area and the supplies. I was able to find very specific pieces I was looking for that is going to make the rest of my trip easier. I highly recommend paying a visit to the good people of bluff mountain outfitters!!
Still here post Helene hurricane/flood, just in a new location up the street. Well-equipped, thoughtful, outdoor gear store. Great for Appalachian trail hikers to pick up necessities or for visitors passing through to pick up fun t-shirts and stickers. The owner is very knowledgeable and was helpful as I was deciding between Altra or astral shoes. Highly recommend to stop!
This store has an awesome selection hiking supplies. They also have lots of clever hot springs souvenir shirts. Super friendly and always well stocked. Prices seem to be fair as well. A hiking supply store literally on at AT. How cool.
Nice staff. Great selection of supplies and gifts.
All the outdoor essentials & a helpful staff.. a great stop when passing thru... fresh produce & grocery items, gear & apparel. Fresh, local coffee, books & local guides... highly recommend taking a minute to walk around and be curious. Definitely go upstairs for sales and discounts... never know what you might find!
Great shop for any supplies needed! Very nice Appalachian trail and Hot Springs souvenirs!
