Silver Falls is a delightful day trip from Salem, Lebanon, and Portland. There are multiple falls to see. There are hiking trails around the canyon and more to the east allowing access to horses and mountain bikes. The park is large enough that is does not seem crowded. The park is gorgeous and being able to walk behind falls is magnificent. We saw dozens of crawdads in the stream by the Upper North Falls. Several areas are steep, but the experience is worth it.
Beautiful place! I like the hiking trails and lodge and nature gift shop. There’s a lot of waterfalls to see and lots miles of hiking available. Beautiful year-round. I like the winter best for the ice blast look from the waterfalls. Fall is wonderful as well.
This is a magnificent state park. With a variety of trails and plenty to see, this is a destination for the entire family. Whether it’s rainy or sunny the trails are perfect for an outing of any length. They are bathrooms in the park is clean and well-maintained. Parking can be a little tough so be patient.
beautiful and not a super rigerous trail, although it does go on for quite a while. So many trails to go down and a very cute cafe at the start was nice. Definitely plan to come again with some friends!
First time at the Silver Falls State Park and I'm definitely going back. This park is huge and filled with waterfalls. And the hiking paths are well defined and well maintained. You do pay for parking but once you start your hike you will understand why. Bring a water bottle I originally was going to hike 2 miles I ended up doing 6 miles. Totally worth it.
Silver Falls State Park is an absolute treasure for anyone who loves the outdoors. 🌲✨ The hiking trails are beautifully maintained and filled with jaw-dropping scenery at every turn. The famous Trail of Ten Falls lives up to its name — each waterfall is uniquely stunning, from the thundering South Falls to the peaceful smaller cascades tucked deep in the forest. What makes it extra special is that you can actually walk behind several of the waterfalls, which gives the whole hike a magical, immersive feel. The mist, the lush green moss, and the sound of rushing water make it feel like you’ve stepped into another world. Whether you’re an avid hiker or just looking for a peaceful nature escape, Silver Falls is unforgettable. Bring a camera, good shoes, bear spray and plenty of time — you’ll want to soak in every moment.
An absolute gem that needs to be reserved until the end of time. We went in late October to see the colors and it was amazing. Wind storm was coming in and they were promptly working to clear the roads. The rain and wind gave us the chance to have south falls to ourselves and we captured some amazing images. Truly breathtaking scenery. Only my second visit and there is never enough time. South falls is definitely the prime waterfall experience any traveler could be seeking.
Need to level up your intake of fresh, clean O2? Take a hike along 7+ miles of Silver Creek trails while traversing heavily timbered and fern-lined canyons along 10 different waterfalls, four of which you can walk behind. Return and enjoy the Cafe at South Falls Lodge and the Nature Gift Store. $10 day park fee, camping, cabin resort with restaurant (w/beer/wine). Enjoy

Lived in Oregon for 10 years and never been. It was really great. However, one of the main water areas were closed on Memorial Day weekend. There was beautiful art in the garden to buy at this time as well--pieces large and small. Oh, and people brought their dogs and they encourage picnics! Great prices on plants at the nursery. Got a cute mid-size fern for $9! Many were even less $$$. If I lived closer, I might even get a season pass.
I bought the tram ticket upon entry, not realizing I would walk everywhere first. I had the ticket and figured might as well. The gentleman driving -I believe Doug, was enthusiastic and did provide additional information. The grounds are beautiful, plenty of photo ops, they have gorgeous event spaces! Silverton is a super cute town, and a great place to explore after visiting.
It was the perfect weather today to visit the Oregon Garden. Lived here for 5 years and this is the first time I’ve been here. Took the tram around the garden which was actually kind of nice. It’s about 20-25 minute tour. The lady that gave us the tour gave us a lot of history and information about the garden. I assume that coming here in spring will be nicer and more vibrant and fresh than coming in the summer months. There is a lot of parking space and we didn’t have to buy tickets in advance.
On behalf of Kvetka Flower, I want to say a huge thank you to Oregon Garden for the amazing experience! We worked here as florists for a wedding, creating that iconic airy arrangement on the gazebo and decorating the entire venue. The location itself is magical, but what truly impressed us was the team. All the staff were not just professional, but incredibly kind, responsive, and ready to help. It made our work an absolute pleasure. We highly recommend Oregon Garden to both brides and our fellow vendors! We sincerely look forward to new projects with you.
Have lived in Oregon for many years and never been! It was well worth the visit, and a great couple's or family outing. Staff were very friendly. Shout out to Doug O, and the relaxing tram ride. Would definitely consider a membership to enjoy more of the seasons.
Gorgeous! Went for fun, forgot there was a Frank Lloyd Wright house right there! Such a fun day. Great walking area. Lots of benches, lots of shade, minimal inclines. Looks like a great venue, the grounds are so nice!
First time visit. Was better than we expected. Very well laid out, so was ready to walk the whole garden. Tons of great things to see. Very relaxing. Definitely will return.
beautiful views and various gardens. takes a few hours to walk the loops. there is also a tram that runs every 30 minutes that will touch the major sections of the park.

Judy was our guide and led a very nice tour. I enjoyed the mix of FLW facts and Gordon family history.
I Love everything about Frank Lloyd Wright. And I fell in love with this home as soon as I saw it. This is the only FLW homes where you actually get to sit on the furniture. And some lucky folks can even sleep there 🙂
So cool to see Oregon’s only FLW. Well educated docents were fab, lovely to get to see everything! Beautiful usonion style home. Big tickets ahead of time.
It's great architecture with your leaders knowing all about the history. Definitely worth a visit.
If you are a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright this tour is wonderful. The Gordon House is restored well, and you get a full tour and history of the home. It had to be moved 20 miles to it's current location to avoid demolition, and it is so good to see it survive. The tour must be booked in advance, so plan ahead. But it's only $20, so worth the cost.
If you are interested in architecture, history, or both this would be a fun stop for you. Personally, I discovered this unique gem when taking photo's for a wedding. It is an intimate house, full of light, and fascinating design. There is a path to walk around the house should you wish to view it from all angles and very friendly staff will give you a tour (at least that's what I encountered). As a venue I would explain this is for smaller groups and spring/summer events. If you were to book it for the winter your group would have to be quite intimate because it's cold to open all the doors.
I did not get to take the tour. The house looks amazing from the outside. Peeking into the windows, the house looks amazing inside. It's amazing to think that these house designs we're considered economical. Today they seem so forward & modern.
been to several FLW buildings and i’d have to say this was one of my favorite tours. the word that kept coming to mind for me was “intentional” and i know FLW was a control freak, unconventional, and in a lot of ways impractical, but this house felt practical, beautiful, and more than anything - intentional. the tour guide was knowledgeable and the space itself was really beautiful. i wish there was a little more care given to the grounds and signage throughout, but would highly recommend regardless. worth the drive from portland!! so see it.

My friends and I love the history of Covered bridges and this one didn't disappoint; the Gallon House Covered Bridge was built in 1916 and has been repaired many times, just driving through it makes you feel you went through a time in history. There is a small lot that we parked in to walk the bridge and check out its historical marker.
Really cool spot and something we’ve wanted to see for years. A covered bridge. Great restoration and beautiful.
Definitely worth a stop if you’re near by. Very small bridge and kinda in a weird spot with very very limited parking. But like I said if you’re in the area it’s something cool to see but if it was a big drive idk if it would be worth it to a lot of people.
Fun little excursion to see while in Silverton. Built in 1919. There is a new structural support under the bridge. The wood framing is beautiful. There is dirt parking on one side of the bridge for 3 or 4 cars so you can walk around. This is a one car at a time bridge.
Beautifully preserved bridge. My girlfriend loved it. Not too many are still around, so to see one brings out the kid in me.
Beautiful bridge and farm country. Very nice drive detour to do on the way home from hiking at Silver Falls State Park. Lots of acorn woodpeckers and scrub jays on the road too!!
Unique bridge. Limited parking to hop out and walk along the bridge.
Cool little bridge. Great History and in such great shape too.

Great selection of very special chocolates with knowledgeable proprietress. We were able to pick and choose from many chocolatiers and everything we tried was a treat for the palate. (Personal favorite was dark chocolate with jalapeno).
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!! Great selection of chocolates and many other fine food items. A must if you are visiting Silverton, and don't leave the store without the Lady Bug Hawaiian Salted Caramels. Have a taste and feel your eyes roll back into your head as you go……ooooohhhh!! Be sure to stop by that cute gallery right next door too :-)).
The chocolate was amazing but I wish they had more of a selection. Didn't really amaze me but 4 stars because the candy was good!
From the pictures I was expecting a specialty chocolate shop, it was a nick nack shop with one case of chocolate, and a very small selection, the chocolates didn't have prices by them and I was unimpressed by chocolate dipped marshmellows and pretzels, I drove a while to get there looking for something better than what I can make at home.
This is a nice little chocolate shop. It leans a little more toward the novelty candies, but there are still some nice chocolates to be had there.
If you are in Silverton, make a point to stop here. You will not regret it. Fantastic chocolate and outstanding service.
Fun place with all kinds of wonderful things!

These guys are absolutely amazing that work here! They are running doing 2 people jobs and still have a smile on their face! I wish I would have grabbed all names but Dalton was the one we catcher and from start to finish of our game he was amazing along with all the lovely ladies there helping us! 🥰 this was our first time and we will definitely be back! Thank you for a great Saturday night!
The employees were so welcoming and helpful. They were down a few lanes though and things seemed a little out of order after the holidays. The restaurant was out of several items and the portions were kinda sad. Love all the bowling game options, the arcade and the patio.
We had the pleasure of holding our class reunion at Silver Creek Lanes in August. They have wonderful comfortable indoor seating and ample outdoor covered seating all along Silver Creek, which made mixing and mingling easier. Their menu is great - with lots of variety. They have something for everyone. Their pizza is some of the best I've ever tasted - and that's saying a LOT. The staff made us feel welcome and provided excellent customer service. We were well taken care of and had a wonderful time! Many thanks to the team at Silver Creek Lanes for being so gracious and accommodating!
Great place. We had a class reunion here and they were very accommodating. Beautiful setting with the deck right over the creek. Food was tasty too. Definitely worth visiting again
Pretty cool for being a small little place. Nice feel and vibe. Nice people.
Just had our 45th class reunion at SCL and it was so much fun. They were great hosts, went above and beyond and really helped make our event something special. Normally, folks don't think of a bowling center as a place for this type of thing, but with all the room and the great patio ... it really hit the spot. Thanks to all of you for making our night special.
Had a great time with a large group. We had 6 lanes reserved for an hour. The service for food and drink was quick and the staff was friendly.
Tawnya, Ryan, Veronica, and the entire Silver Creek Lanes Staff, I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for making my grandson's birthday party such a wonderful success. Life has been incredibly hectic with graduation and his birthday falling so close together, and I was in a real bind with last-minute planning. Silver Creek Lanes truly came through for us! It's clear that Tawnya and Ryan take immense pride in their establishment, and it absolutely shines through in every detail. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing with such a wide variety to please everyone. I especially loved the mac n cheese bites and the flatbread chicken artichoke pizza - they were so delicious! The deck outside provided a lovely and relaxing view of the river, and seeing the deer grazing peacefully was a bonus. This was my second visit, and I finally decided to try bowling. I was not disappointed at all! My grandson and his friends had an absolute blast playing the arcade games and bowling. The best part for me was the extensive food options; it completely took the stress out of the event, knowing there was something for everyone, from kids to adults. Veronica and the other gentleman working the counters were fun and energetic, which added to the positive atmosphere. I believe I've found our new go-to spot! Thank you so much, Silver Creek Lanes and your incredible staff, for everything you do Sincerely. The Zamudio Family

Apples to Oranges continues to impress me with their variety of quality craft items, from premium yarn, to felting and embroidery kits, Melissa & Doug kids toys and books, and drawing supplies, this shop has what you are looking for. Plus, a free daily tea is served and you can try out one of their dozens of premium loose tea blends. And it you’re very lucky, the resident cat will come greet you!
I attempted to call on behalf of my partners fiber arts business. I attempted to identify myself accordingly but was immediately hung up on after being told "not interested." So identifying yourself is sufficient cause to lose out on a potential customer. I called back and was told, "We don't want to talk to you." My GF has been looking for specific yarn complete a project but we will never know if Apples to Oranges has what she needs. After our attempt at phone communication was rudely dismissed, we will no longer attempt to reach out or conduct any future business with them.
I really love this store. Excellent yarn variety. Great place to find a gift. The owner is an expert and very helpful. Her cats are a fun addition to any shopping adventure.
Apples to Oranges is one of my favorite places to be! The shop is filled with quality products: yarn, tea, puzzles, books, stationary, project kits, and so much more. I also appreciate the help I get from friendly staff, and especially the kind and personable owner. Lauri has an amazing shop, and I always look forward to dropping in.
Very smooth transaction, purchased some tea that I've been looking for in the area and hadn't had much luck, a Cream Earl Grey. They patiently waited for me as I forgot my wallet. The store is fun to be in with lots of colors, that's worth the stop but if you have any knitting need I'm sure they can be of help.
I appreciate this store. This shop has a variety of items for sale. I’ve bought several puzzles and yarn. Crochet hooks and knitting needles. It’s a joy to visit and always greeted with friendly faces.
They have a beautiful selection of yarn, roving, needles, hooks, books and other accessories. They also have gift items and tea and truffles!! They were the only ones carrying the needles I needed for a project I'm working on. They were a little longer than I wanted, but still work beautiful.
My family and I stopped in on a personal yarn crawl for my birthday today. We’d visited several shops over the last few days prior but this one.... was a little bit magical. We were warmly greeted my the keeper and all offered freshly brewed iced tea. She offered her help if we needed it but happily left us to our browsing. I felt like I had stepped into Olivanders from Harry Potter with it’s dark wood shelves full of enticing collections- just with yarn, not wands! We were on a very specific mission to color match for my projects and having visited several shops stretching from Vancouver down to Silverton- Apples to Oranges had by far the absolute BEST selection and just an overall good ambiance. Plus when I showed the shopkeeper my projects she was really warm and enthusiastic. (I’d shown other shop owners at different shops but because I’m a crocheter, not a knitter, I was treated rudely but here at Apples they were very sweet.) I will totally be back with my bestie for a day trip very soon!

We found this delightful store on 24 December 2024. The owners were welcoming and knowledgeable. We have the most amazing time looking at their incredible fossils. What a find this store is!! We have a grandson who is fascinated by fossils and we are learning.
They have a big Selection of rings with very fine gemstones in them. They have sterling silver rings that are affordable and beautiful! If you ever want to go to find a perfect gemstone ring this is the place. Very friendly helpful staff. First time going and this won’t be the last.
Super nice folks! I had dropped my wallet on the sidewalk nearby, and some Good Sams took it to this shop. Lacking an obvious way to track me down, they went to some trouble to get in touch with me, and now I have my wallet back! I am super appreciative of them, and their efforts. Really fantastic. Amazing, actually. ❤️👏🙂
An absolutely amazing fossil/gemstone shop. My partner and I got lucky to talk to Morgan who helped us out by packing this giant stingray fossil for a 12 hour drive back home. She has some great knowledge (make sure to ask about the space rocks) and is so helpful and sweet. There's some beautiful specimens - so many that we kept picking up more and more every minute we were in the store. We started off with 2 fossils and ended up leaving with 3 more rocks and a necklace. We really appreciate the time she took to show us her additional fossils and rocks she had stored away. I can't wait to one day do this drive back and visit again! Thank you!
Wonderful and quirky shop. A ton of super fun stuff but I’m leaving this review specifically for their fine jewelry. This beautiful ring was designed and cast with help of the owner and she spent a lot of time finding the perfect stone. I couldn’t be happier! And I love supporting local businesses!
We took our grandsons, ages seven and four. Morgan was extremely helpful AND knowledgeable! We all had fun, and came home with some new additions to our collections!
This shop is fabulous. I found rocks I’ve never seen before and beautiful specimens of some of my favorites. There’s a choice selection and the owner was friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend whether your a serious collector or just like browsing pretty rocks. I chose four pieces and will definitely return for more.
Amazing store, great prices and selection, and incredibly kind workers and owners. 100% recommend anyone to check this store out!
