The Social Drinkery is an amazing place in downtown Downey. Grab a drink, a steak and some brussel sprouts. I can't say enough.
Good quality food and cocktails although somewhat overpriced. We had 1 entrée (a burger) and 3 apps (gravy fries, wings, and greens) along with 6 drinks between 2 people. Total bill at the end, after tip was $340. Walking away after the bill, I just cant say I feel good about the value. The drinks were OK, nothing amazing. One of them was served in a bargain bin tiki glass like they use at Islands burgers or other fast casual restaurants. For $18-20 a cocktail, I just expected a little better. Maybe they have amazing steaks that make a visit worth it. Maybe next time I will try that but this time I was underwhelmed. The vibe is not nice steakhouse though, it is more like dark bar/mid-tier gastropub which also throws me off value wise.
This place has ridiculously good steaks. That's what everyone comes for, and they are cooked perfectly. However, their seafood is really good. The burgers are top knotch and the drinks exquisite. The giant tomahawk is something two people share and is around $160 bucks. This place is a must try for sure if you're willing to put down some money.
So I live in the area and I’ve passed here several times and decided to stop in. I was pleasantly surprised the food was amazing I had a burger that the waiter came and put on fire with some black sauce and it was the best taste burger I ever had in my life. My sister had a tomahawk steak and she said that it was cooked perfectly. She thoroughly enjoyed it the only downside I can say is for the food and the money that you spend it’s uncomfortable. I understand that it’s not a large place, but they have steel barstools for you to sit on and it was the most uncomfortable thing ever and I’m assuming they use those because maybe it creates more space but I definitely don’t wanna pay the price point to eat a steak on a barstool other than that the food was absolutely amazing. The drinks were good and the service was absolutely amazing
Probably the best service I have had, hands-down. Made me feel important, which I love. Elle was the nicest and coolest - everyone went out of their way for me to tell me where the restroom is before I went etc. Above and beyond. Great music, atmosphere, ambience, all of it. Beautiful cocktails and the food was great. Had the salmon and Wygu rolls. 10 stars! Thanks:)
This restaurant and bar is a gem! The burgers are absolutely delicious, and the drinks are top-notch. It's no surprise that it's always bustling, so be sure to make a reservation in advance. While it can get a bit loud due to the lively atmosphere, it only adds to the experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the cleanliness of the place didn't go unnoticed. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to go back!
AVOID. For real, just avoid it. Came in for a birthday tonight 3/7/25 so the man of honor could get the tomahawk steak. They shoved all six of us into a booth meant for five max, and dark enough to necessitate a small lamp on the table to even read the menu. I got the fillet, and everyone else in our party got burgers or sandwiches. The steaks were good, everyone else said the burgers were fine but overpriced. That's the vibe here btw--good enough food, expensive gimmicky drinks, but overall extremely overpriced for the product. Our bill was over $500 for this meal. The table was too tiny for the number of plates coming out, so we had to get creative to make room--especially for the steaks, as they came out on hot cast iron skillets. The skillets had handles, but unlike literally every other restaurant I've been to that does this, the handles were not covered by anything. It was just a hot protruding piece of metal. The table was very tiny for the amount of plates on it, so I put the skillet down in what I thought would be the least damaging way possible. As I shifted to grab something, my bare arm made brief contact with the skillet handle, but that was enough for it to cause a mild but painful burn. First of all, I was not offered a way to treat the burn. And I'm talking a wet paper towel to treat it would have been enough for me, but I was offered nothing even though one of their employees witnessed it happening. I pressed the cold glass from my drink to it, which is very much not how anyone should handle a burn but I was given no options. When I addressed the issue with our server, I was chastised ("we WARNED YOU it was a hot plate") and I was not given a sufficient answer as to why the handles on their skillets did not have covers. "This has never happened before," he said as explanation, as if that explains why a bar thought hot uncovered cast iron handles was a safe idea. I told him to his face that I doubted I'm the first person this has ever happened to because the tables are too small for the number of plates being put on them. He didn't really address it further, just kind of dismissing it more and trying to downplay my stinging arm. The server basically disappeared after that, except to bring us all ~complementary bottled waters~ and to bring me another cocktail on the house. At no point was I approached by a manager to address what happened. If they came by the table, they did not identify themselves. A responsible facility is going to make a note of anyone being injured for records, but I guess they can claim that I'm lying if I went after them for their negligence. Other than a free $18 cocktail and what were likely $8 bottled waters, they did not acknowledge that I had been injured. What I wanted more than anything was an apology, but instead I was blamed and plied with more liquor (and let's be real: if it WAS the customer's fault for the burn, why would they serve that person more alcohol?) The only reason I didn't push it was because it was my partner's birthday and I didn't want to bring the vibe down for my friends. The TLDR of it all is that they overcrowd tiny, dark tables and then put hot cast iron on it without covers, but it's YOUR fault if you get burned trying to navigate that. If you're in the Downey area and you want a tomahawk, go to 19Seventy in Whittier. It's a better dining experience, better quality food, a better health score, all for a similar price point and the servers won't blame you to your face for getting injured. For management since I doubt your servers understand how to handle this kind of liability: Photo attached to this review taken at 11:15PM on 3/7/25, of the lower part of my forearm, near the outside of my elbow joint. Burn occurred around 8:30-8:45PM same day. Untreated prior to photo. Review also posted verbatim on Yelp.
Came here to celebrate a high school graduation and the steak was absolutely made to perfection! It is sizzling and hot when served and the quality of the filet mignon and the NY steak was a 10. The calamari appetizer is also. Great choice along with the Mac and cheese. Didn’t try the cocktails, this time around but I have in the past and they are made delicious. Highly recommend for a first date, celebration or a night out.

Found another local gem. Would have loved this even more as a kid but still so enjoyable as an adult and a great tribute to the Columbia. Lots of information and more in the works. Come support them and pay a visit, they also have some programs available for kiddos ❤ 👨‍🚀🛰🚀
Here is my experience with this tiny but great interactive museum. Call ahead to make sure there isn't an event that you will not be able to access the museum. It is really for kids. The staff were friendly and informative. The robotics lab was a great introduction to programming and robotics for younger kids (less than 10 or 11). Though this museum is small, it is a great way to spend a few hours. I recommend spending time with the exhibits and making sure your little ones learn something.
How did I not know about this place? Dedicated to the memory of the astronauts who perished when Space Shuttle Columbia broke up during re-entry. It is centered around science education, and hosts school visits from around the region. Not large, not glitzy, but with several really great hands-on exhibits. I could spend all day at the shuttle landing simulator, trying not to bury the spacecraft in Rodgers Dry Lake. Admission is only $5!
Its not big, but a lot of cool contents inside Def worth it if u bring a kid Even myself enjoy it And staff very friendly
Amazing place for curious kids to explore. The hands on activities and the robotics workshop for kids are awesome. Fantastic place to let kids discover.
Hello everyone. Welcome to the Columbia Memorial Space Center. This is a wonderful place for hand's on learning. Columbia Memorial Space Center offer's scienc technology and engineering. Getting to learn the earth and astronomy. There is a robotics lab where you can learn about programming. Discover flight and aeronautics. Learn about NASA and commercial space programs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The admission fee is inexpensive and offers a discount to AAA, membership holders. This is a great environment for kids to learn and explore. There are many activities to keep you entertained. Thank you for reading my review. Please follow me on Google maps and check out the places I visit.
From January to December this place has lots going on for kids and teens. We met a wonderful robotics club from Long Beach here and we’ve spotted them at other events around town. Great place for kids to get envolved in stem projects and meet young adults who are succeeding in those fields.
Very fun place to learn about space. Also great opportunity for children to draw play in an area. Experiment. Use machines. And great photo ops.

I can't believe I haven't been here before now. I'll be back for some major films i want to watch towards the end of the year‼️ XD cinema.... was a great experience. I wont spoil it for you but if you really like a movie and want an experience pay the extra and see it in XD. #avatar #december192025 #excited #XD #waiting ⏳️
One of the cleanest and smoothest theater experiences I’ve had in a minute. From ticket check-in to the seats, everything was on point comfortable, quiet, and crisp visuals on that XD screen. Staff stayed professional, the vibe stayed peaceful, and the sound system hit like you were part of the movie. Perfect spot for family nights or solo resets. 🎬🔥 #LouieKsUp #RealReview #GoogleTourWeek #MovieNightDoneRight
We watched How to Train Your Dragon in XD with 3-D glasses in the D Box seats. It was absolutely Amazing! Highly recommended!
Great place to see movies, comfortable chairs even far so people won't be kicking when they're behind your seats :-D ,food ready, clean theater, parking, restaurants near by. Excellent 👌
Went to a First Access to watch Demon Slayer that started at 7:15pm (the closest one to me that was doing first access) I got there at seven thinking they were gonna start selling the cups and buckets at that time but they said they started selling them that morning and was sold out :) I thought they were gonna be like AMC who were gonna sell them to people who had tickets to the actual movie especially to the first access one. I didn’t even see people who had the cups or buckets in the room :) Welp, now I know when I get first access to go when they open to get things even though they premier at night :)
Movie night out with the older kids and we had a great time watching Five Nights at Freddy’s. Walked into this theatre and was immediately treated by the lady with the bar code scanner to take our tickets. Fear not for those of you not tech savy, there is a ticket booth directly to your right when you enter into the theatre. Directly in front of the entrance is a bar and also a Starbucks. In the bar there is only a few selections of canned beers, seltzer beers, wine and a couple of on tap beers. Behind the bar/coffee bar is a cafeteria styled concession stand with the normal accommodations. We did watch a movie in XD theatre and unfortunately we had seating in the second to front row, which kinda sucked. The luxurious seats they said they had wouldn’t recline enough to not hurt our neck, which I was kinda disappointed about considering we paid close to $18 a seat without food and beverages. Other than that it was fun, but I wouldn’t ever sit that close again since it gave me and my husband a really bad neck ache.
This is my neighborhood movie theater. Bathrooms can be consistently cleaner. Otherwise, staff is friendly, professional, and very helpful. This theater is my go to when wanting to go see a movie. Seats are spacious and they recline.
Went to see JURRASIC PARK today. Never had been here, very nice, clean, loved the reclining seats. I came across only one down fall, a rude employee at the snacks station that was charging. But over all I really like this theater! I can see myself coming back

Excellent resources and historical artifacts of Downey, CA. Tours of the history museum are very informative and interesting. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
As a board member I encourage everyone in the city of Downey to come down and explore the wonderful history that has been preserved.
Great place to visit. A large selection of Downey historic items to see.😀

My experience here was great. The owner was amazingly nice and helped me to find what i was loomi g for in my price range. There is a huge variety of candy but it is mot overwhelming...the set up did not make it so. All candy bags are priced visibly. The prices are good as well!
Great experiences here in the past. Stopped by today, October 7th, 2019. I saw a bunch of cars in the Candy Outlet spaces that looked like they were parked there for the collision center. Candy Outlet doors closed and locked. A couple of really nice young gents told me that Ken sold the business about a month ago. Too bad, another nice guy falls victim to the economy. CANDY OUTLET HAS CLOSED. Those gents I met are in the process of liquidating the current inventory. The outlet is no longer open to the public.
There is a big sign on a gated window. It says candy and has phone number. I called number...no answer. Very confusing as to where is the front door. I walked to business across the parking lot to ask is this place is really in business? They said that owner comes and goes. Read the hand written note on side door. It said: closed today Monday will be opened tomorrow Tues
This is more like a warehouse than a store where candy is sold in bulk. The prices are lower than anywhere else. I've bought various candies here. Good selection. Bags of assorted candies sold here.
They have the largest selection of candy that I have ever seen I have been shopping there for approximately seven years, the prices are wonderful they specialize in special occasions and holidays what you can get for $5 there would cost you approximately $20 somewhere else it is truly a place where you can overdose a sweet tooth
Great selection of candy and friendly service, but the retail items are overpriced. Perhaps there are better wholesale prices?
Great prices and great candy. Always go here for Halloween 🎃 and anytime we need bulk candy cheap.
Stopped by and they have a sign that said open ..couldn't figure out where the entrance was, as soon as we located the actual entrance and they had a tiny sign that was the same color as the door that read, store closed till Nov 9 for inventory..they could have posted it on their web page to let possible customers to know!!!

I really enjoyed my experience with Kendra. Our session wasn’t long due to my tardiness but she made sure I was well attended with such little time we had. She focused on the areas I felt I needed at the moment. She asked if I was doing well and helped me get through areas that needed consistent deep breathing.
Evelyn is amazing with facials. Her facial massages and techniques are 10/10. Anna is a master at massages, she doesn’t need the light on because her hands feel every knot or stressed muscle. Seriously recommend both of them!
I have been going to massage envy for over a year and I have always enjoy my massages and therapist as well. Since I been seeing Esme , I just want her to do my massages. She is great!! She listens to your concerns and works on your body as you requests. She is a 5 star!!
Kendra is by far the best massage therapist I have ever had. She listens to my light pressure preferences and executes it perfectly. She is professional and friendly while providing a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend her.
Sigmund was absolutely amazing. Cant wait to receive another massage from him again. Very professional and courteous. Also applied appropriate pressure and was exceptional with the rapid tension relief. Overall great asset to the Massage Envy team.
Massage was really good. I liked Kendra’s technique since I prefer a massage that doesn’t leave me hurting too bad the next day. I felt really relaxed and she did a whole body from head to toe. I highly recommend Kendra!
Rosa was the perfect masseuse for my first ever massage! She was gentle but still firm enough and made me feel so comfortable during the whole session. I highly recommend booking with Rosa!!
Such a beautiful & clean space. Esme was very polite & welcoming. I felt comfortable the entire time! Great professional experience & can't wait until next time.

Love this place. Happy hour on Tues wed is killer and Celine is the hottest kindest bartender ever. Thank you guys for always coming through. 🤘
Came to this bar on a Friday night. DJ played some good 80s songs. Can get a bit overcrowded, not too many places to sit. Also overheard someone they have cover charges now to get in and they didn’t before. Cash only but there is ATM inside.
The music was good, the vibe was great and the service was faster than you’d expect for how busy they were
This is a great bar. Come here cause Celine is a great bartender and she will give you great drinks
Great place for a drink any day of the week can be difficult to find parking at times
Been coming to anarchy for over 15 years. Always a great time and bartenders and staff are always amazing!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this fantastic establishment and I must say, they have the coldest beer in town! The service here is top-notch, with friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful experience. Not only that, but the drink prices are incredibly reasonable, making it even more enjoyable, "Try the Paloma". The atmosphere is clean and inviting, creating the perfect setting to sit back, relax, and enjoy your favorite beverage. There is plenty of parking available, making it hassle-free to visit. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in search of a refreshing, delightful time. Tell them Jammer sent you.
Cool spot, only opened Thursday, Friday, Saturday right now.. one pool table, good sound out of the jukebox.. overall nice hangout..
I went on a Friday at 8pm and there were 3 people inside. Then 2 left and it was me and an old man. I left too. Maybe people come in later?
Cool, quiet little dive bar. Has a pool table and an electronic dart board. Great jukebox. Easy to make friends with the regulars.
Great for a dive bar! Under new management, Damien seems to really know his stuff. Jukebox, TV's and a pool table... This place is moving up!
The owner was there on hands penny loafing..... on the pool table... u pay if u lose.. but he for him its free .. he's ballsy .. and disrespectful.... i will never go back again... i guess he's hurtin for customersq
Its Hot(temperature) !! AC dont really work is dark...manager dont seem engaged with customer...bartender is not attentive...felt I was bothering her by asking for drinks.

Honestly this spot is a hidden gem. Food is delicious and service was great. I'm not big on seafood but their ceviche is bomb. They make it with white onion which is the best. Phillysteak is fire and their breakfast has to be the best. Definitely a Downey must stop.
THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME HERE - ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE!!! The food was amazing (tacos, mole enchiladas, pancake [for kids])….yup, even the pancake was delicious! The drinks were really good w/refills. We LOVED the homemade tortilla chips and 2 salsas. The service was fantastic. Will definitely come again! TRY IT, you will love it!!
That is definitely a place I'll be adding to my list of local establishments even though I only have the Carne Asada nachos they were pretty good for such a simple dish
Came here with my family and close friend, server accommodated all of us plus a high chair. Bar area has TVs to watch football which is why we decided to try this place today as well as to grab a beer and feed the kids. We had something different tried everything from their micheladas to their wet burritos, fish tacos and their brunch... everything tasted good and had great service. We will be returning soon.
Discriminate against non-plastic civilian. Had the audacity to assume I was intoxicated just because I was friendly. All was said was "Helllo gentle" and immediately was label as intoxicated. How rude
I love this place, the Banda is popping, I am celebrating my birthday today here with my friends. June 14th come through, you won’t regret it. Cool chill spot, you want to have an amazing time come here I’m telling you.
Whole in the wall. Banda or norteno on Fridays and Saturdays. Never know which but always a good time. Space sucks but I get there early enough to have a good seat.
Great bottle service.. The place is small but lots of fun. I See new faces every time I go. Live Band plays awesome and always so energetic.. One of my favorite places to go on Sundays plus their wings are bomb..!
