The campground was clean and neat. Well maintained and you can tell they have put some money into it. They have plenty of trash cans for when you're walking your dog, so that's a great thing too. Downside is the road noise from 41 and the WiFi is terrible (not surprising). If you have work to do, make sure you remember to bring your own Internet. I was in site 16, it was a nice, large FHU back in site with a lot of empty land behind it.
Nice camping ground with one flaw. It's right next to a road that always has traffic on it. We stayed in the middle of the campground in a tent and we heard trucks going by all night. We also stayed a night in the back of the park and could hardly hear the traffic. The restrooms and showers were clean. Beautiful view of the Bay. If it wasn't so smoky from the wildfires the sunrise would have been awesome. Mostly shaded camp sites. Great location being an hour away from a lot of things to do in any direction.
It was okay Nice helpful staff Our spot was next to a cute playground Fairly good size site but they are all different Left two days ago Noisy road and mud puddles Small showers Saw one hiking trail, but no trail for bikes Some sites were on higher ground and maybe quieter We would go again … nice but not my favorite
Very nice campground loved it just very small things we didn’t like about it. 1. Our site was very close to the road so lots of road noise but nothing we can do. 2. It rained for about 2 days not the bad part. Bad part was the flooding throughout the campground. Luckily our site didn’t get it that bad. Other sites VERY BAD. Again can’t do anything about it just prepare for this if it happens. Bathroom/ shower house was nice had some ADULT guests act like kids and can’t just not be animals that’s not on the campground they did their job and had it all cleaned up. Very quiet place not close to anything but that’s not the problem. Can walk to the little diner at the end of the walking path. Would I recommend this place YES!!!! Absolutely!!!! Will we be back? Oh yeah I would go back.
We had a paved full hook up site which we greatly appreciated on the rainy days. There is road noise, but it becomes white noise and even lighter/less noticeable at night. Restrooms were well maintained and clean...best we've seen in many years!
This campground is a medium sized one compared to others we've been to, the staff was more than helpful and very friendly. Recommend viewing all the spots available when reserving as some tend to sit lower and drainage might be an issue. We'd definitely stay there again if we go back north.
Very nice State Park. I have it a 4 star and not a five only because of the road traffic. It did quiet down after 11p and didn't start up again until 7a. Although we were there during the week and not on the weekend. We were in a camper so it wasn't too loud but I would suggest if noise bothers you or you are in a tent I would get a site that back up into the woods. The staff checking us in was great and even said our site should not be too wet but if it is please go back and see them and they will get us a better site. The town of Baraga was super cute and ever business we went into the people were as sweet as could be. We went to Nite Owl Cafe food it was great food as well as the owner who personally waited on us was lovely. Close waterfalls in Baraga just ask the locals
Beautiful setting, clean grounds and facilities, friendly staff, convenient to restaurants ( within 2-4 miles) Is very close to a busy road, but after 1 night it did not bother us.

We came after the grill closed (closes at 9pm) and thankfully they were kind enough to still make us food, we’re still polite and quick. The menu is quite wide, and the prices here are great.
The service here at this quaint little bar was spectacular. We ordered a pizza for dinner and were pleasantly surprised how great it was.
Best damn wings ive had so far! Gonna pass by again in future. Lovely atmosphere!
Nice little place friendly atmosphere. We just had drinks hard iced tea is my fave
We stopped in for a bite to eat and ended up having a lot of fun! The food was great, and Lily was so funny! One of the other guests even had Lily ring the bell because he bought my husband and I a drink!! The food was great. I had a que master burger, and my husband had the chicken wrap special with homemade fries, which I helped him finish!! I'm so glad we stopped in!
Great local spot for cold beer, textbook bar food (the burgers are legit) and a classic atmosphere. Don't be surprised if a "quick stop" turns into a few hours. The ladies behind the bar are fast, friendly and attentive.
Visiting from California, driving through Baraga and had limited options on a weekday evening and decided to try. Sadly, bad choice. Some observations: 1. No food service after 9pm but the bar stays open until midnight? Lots of lost revenue with people turning away. The appetizers were just store bought products heated in a microwave and were terrible. Maybe consider a late night menu during summer or peak season. 2. Unattenive bartender. Bartender (will withhold name) working evening shift was interactive with friends and turning back to customers. It was unpleasant and unprofessional. She seemed annoyed when she had to actually work. Bartender or service professional development training would help. I believe I was greeted with an impatient "what do you want" it was kind of funny. To be fair maybe she was overwhelmed prior to my arrival and might have been exhausted. When I was there it was only 4 customers. 3. The cook was blaring loud R&B/rap music ... which I like. The problem was acoustically it sounded terrible in the main restaurant/bar combined with not being the most appropriate type of music to play in a restaurant/bar setting. Maybe limit volume to just kitchen. He also had orders to fulfill but kept complaining about random stuff to the bartender. 4. First impressions are important. The presentation of the food, lack of cleanliness and bartender's inattentive focus/giving the impression she wanted to be somewhere else would not cause anyone to come back here. This could be a great dive bar with proper employee training and expectations for professionalism. 5. Food was undercooked, I just nibbled as I knew the bartender was not trained to handle complaints and the "kitchen was closed" . Some good things: 1. Plenty of local customers ordering take out ... so something like pizza/burgers must be right. 2. Lots of drink choices. 3. Might be better in the afternoon when the "A team" is on shift? Maybe I had the C team working in the evening. Hopefully the experience will be better for future patrons as first impressions and hospitality are important for restaurant/bars to stay alive.
A decent atmosphere, first bartender was awesome!!! After 5pm when the replacements showed up the service took a nose dive!!! Very un attentive!!!!! Ordered a pizza that was burnt tasting. Would I go back? Yes, well before 5 though. And no food.

This place is a great little treasure hidden in the woods. It really shows the grit early settlers had in order to carve a life out of the wilderness.
Nobody was there, but we could peek through the windows of the buildings. Super neat stop and great if you want to have a little stroll (when it's warm...) Will visit again!
Google hours were incorrect. It was not open when we arrived. I imagine it's nice to see if you happen to be driving by but not worth going out of your way.
Going back in time in an extremely special place with passionate and knowledgeable volunteers!!! Thanks to Kathleen Ernst and the Hanka Homestead volunteers for a meaningful day!
The day we visited it wasn't open but you could still walk around and see everything that's there. It was pretty impressive but would like to go back when the people are there who demonstrate, educate and be able to go inside some of the other buildings that were closed.
We love this Homestead! It's just a wonderful place to demonstrate blacksmithing!
It was very cool. The lady that gave us the tour was just great and the place was great also. We are so glad that people took the time to save it it's a real part of history.
Authentic untouched Finnish farm near Baraga and Pelkie. Makes you realize how lucky we have it now .
