Great place for anyone interested in locamotives, scenic rides and a little history. Relaxing, great rides. Experienced two story pepper trees. Never knew that pepper trees got this tall. You can smell the pepper in the air. Highly recommended for all ages!
I think this could be a cool place. Due to Covid the hours and access are limited at this time. If you have kids or feel like a kid the train that served as the inspiration for the Polar Express is there. The actual train rides I believe are postponed for now. Enjoy!
We had a fantastic time on our train ride.. we did the 4th of july train ride and got to see the town of Fillmore and experience the town celebrating in style with live music and food and booths to shop at as well as antique shops off main street and a great car show that they put on. Just a wonderful experience and the atmosphere was ELECTRIC because of the whole build up towards our train ride. They fed us dinner and we had tri tip and chicken and potato salad and beans and garlic bread. All while traveling about 10mph during dinner. Great experience and the staff was amazing and fast and friendly. A 1 hour train ride ended with a awesome fireworks show at 9pm and we had a wonderful seat at the back of the train where all the passengers moved to in order to view the fireworks above us And get great photos. The atmosphere was amazing the whole time and i recommend anyone to put this on their bucket list because it sure was worth the money.. they put on a fantastic show and experience that i will never forget.
Our family made a short stop at the historic town center. It was such a beautiful experience like a going back in time type of situation. We made friends with a local family who advised us to come back specially during Christmas since the train and the Christmas decorations are the most popular during that season. We recommend you a trip to this city with the family, it is such an idilic town
Very great experience on the North Pole Express but they have to make it a better production and longer especially for the price. The decorations are awesome inside and outside. Please work on the train ride experience.
Thank you for keeping the magic of Christmas alive. I can’t say enough good things about our trip on the Polar Express. They were able to maintain all social distancing protocols with ease while we took an hour long journey to see Santa. My 3, 5, & 7 year old kids were delighted by Jingles, the lovely and ever so talented elf, who was taking orders for Santa while entertaining with stories, juggling, and a puppet. It was hilarious and wholesome and just what we needed. Can’t wait to come back to see the other adventures they offer.
The Polar Express train ride was amazing, the interactive experience was just like the movie. Everyone received a silver bell, the only thing that would of make it better would of been meeting the Author 🎅 I have read this story to over 800 children as an librarian and really felt it was authentic. Highly recommend this during Christmas, children and adults wore their PJ's, I have my Golden Ticket!
Awesome. If your going for pumping show up early so you can sit in the air conditioned dinning car nicest ride on the train

Extraordinary experience. I could actually see how the bees work to make honey and taste all kinds of honey they sell. I picked up some honey comb to have it with kaimak or ricotta cheese. Can't wait to taste it!
6/28/25- We stop at Bennett's Honey Farm every time we go to Ventura Beach, and we love it every time! Great choice of different honeys and honey flavors with a few additional souvenirs like bee wax candles, branded clothes, and candy. It has a clean bathroom and great staff. There's also picnic tables out front the main door under large shade trees to sit and eat at. If you're lucky, you may also be able to grab an orange or two from the large citrus trees near the picnic tables.
Loved the atmosphere! If satisfied with the products I bought this will become my to go place for getting the local honey. We use local wildflower honey since it helps with pollen allergies 🤧
Such great local honey, when I'm in the area I always stop here, I wish there was a tour of their honey mill. it's a small store and sometimes there are ants walking around the place, so I would be careful about that. Especially if your gonna be taste testing before you buy. The honey prices are ok not to bad, but some other items in there can be very expensive. I recommend this place, The honey is very good and I eat it as a meal with my fav breads and breakfast
We have been coming to Bennett’s for the past 20 years to purchase a minimum of 2 gallons. We have been very satisfied because the honey is natural and not watered down like you find at grocery stores. Last month we travelled the 134 miles to purchase another 2 gallons. When we returned home and used the honey, we were shocked to discover that Bennett’s has stooped to watering down their honey. Because of this, we regretfully will never buy honey from Bennett’s ever again.
Today we went on a road trip to Bennett's Honey Farm. I really enjoyed visiting this farm. It does make you feel like you're in the countryside. Many honey products for every one to sample before purchasing. The Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their local honey products. We will definitely return in the near future.
This is the best place to get honey from the local areas collected from The Vineyards and Fields with orange blossom style. It is also a place where you can buy honey at slightly better prices than the warehouse store. All of these things combine mean it's a worthy place to stop for free samples a clean bathroom and to show your kids that honey doesn't come from a factory.
Found this honey at Whole Foods Palm Desert CA. It's quite a challenge to find pure SoCal honey that is reasonably priced. Most of the honey sold in general is mixed with Brazilian and Canadian etc. if not straight up foreign! Read the label! I got the ORANGE honey right here from Ventura County and it tastes delicious. Thank you 💙🐝

I have been coming to this fish hatchery since I was a kid and it holds a special place in my heart. They allow all ages but leave your dog outside the hatchery area. They used to charge five cents for fish food, but now it is free to feed the fish the pellets provided. Bring gloves or a cup so as to not get your hands greasy with the pellets. Plenty of parking and the bathrooms are usually open...usually. It is a cool 20 minutes to spend on your way to Ventura or Los Angeles.
Been going here for over 30 years. Such a sweet, free outing that my kids have loved over and over again. Free entry and fish food. Free electric charging station. There's alot to see, like the giant fish vacuum, used to pull out the fish to stock lake. You'll see giant trout at the west end, not part of the hatchery, but gets populated when the hatchery is flooded. Spot cranes, ducks and wildlife. A fun Free stop off the 126 in Fillmore.
This is a great experience for kids. Open to the public, fish food is free. My grandsons, aged 6 and 4 1/2, loved it. A free and easy fun time for little kids. You can be in and out in 30 min. :)
It used to be a nice place to visit. Picnic area needed to be cleaned up and grass cut, so you can't enjoy the little area. Restrooms were filthy needed to be fixed, painted, and cleaned, women's was closed up. But the experience of looking and feeding the trout was nice to see.
Used to have a quarter machine a long time ago. Took my kids here today and there was a 5 gallon bucket of food to scoop and feed the fish. Free! It is a nice little detour on the way to the beach.
Not a lot of fish right now... But I gotta say the staff were super welcoming and so nice. My question is, on the side where there is like a little pond with ducks. It would be awesome to be able to explore that area. Do you guys ever allow anyone on that side? Thank you to the nice gentleman that allowed us to feed the fish! I know it's free but they were doing maintenance at the time we arrived and he was kind enough to let us feed them.
Awesome place to take kids and yourself to see trout in different sizes. And there's a few buckets of food that you can feed the fish..two handfuls per person.Kids love feeding the fish.
Great little place in which you can observe this process up close. There is free fish feed and you can watch group trout behavior. It's fun for a bit. There is no entrance fee!

It was a pleasure doing wine tasting with Dana and Rebecca - who was being onboarded for her first day. They were very outgoing, customer-centric, and helped tailor our wine tasting experience to each individual through expertise, recommendations, etc. We also met one of the local musicians who regularly plays at the establishment. Overall, everyone was very humble and welcoming into a unique tight-knit family environment. Return visits are certainly in the near future for us!
Shelby was so kind and hospitable. She welcomed us in and made us feel at home. The Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon were my favorites but everything was delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxing and quiet. Above all it was the service and the quality of the wine that made me sign up for the wine club. I’ll be back real soon. Thanks again Shelby :-))
Great overnight ... Great Petite Sirah! Harvest Host stop, very friendly, nice and quiet. Will go back for more wine very soon!!
Well done. Large parking lot for big rigs in downtown Fillmore next to City Hall. Thank you Dana for your friendly service and for a few minutes with the owners. Local business with clear pride in what they do. I left with the port and Cab Sauv. #harvesthosts
Went on a Saturday and did a tasting. Types of wine were pretty standard, not very original, and sadly out of multiple we wanted to taste. Liked the light snacks to pair with some of the wines. Not very busy. Local band of 3 playing songs mostly from the 70s.
We experienced this winery in downtown Fillmore as a Harvest Host. The wine is good with a lot of variety. The price per glass, bottle, and tasting is reasonable. There was two musicians playing and Dana, the bar tender, kept the wine flowing. Great conversations and a relaxing atmosphere made this a fun stop in California's citrus hub.
Thank you Shelby and Dana!! You helped make my Wedding Celebration Day very special.. You both gave exceptional service.. Everything you suggested I followed.. The sangria was a hit!!
What a wonderful tasting experience we had with Shelby! Up to 6 samples for $15. And the ambience, live music and pleasant conversation were priceless! Our favorite was the dessert wine, Forgiveness. I highly recommend you stop by. You never know when the whole place might break out in song ;)

What a fantastic museum. We spent the afternoon. There was much to see including rail cars. Very informative on all aspects of Fillmore and surrounding area through the years. The staff were very friendly and took the time to answer all of our questions. I would highly recommend stopping here
The docents are amazing, knowledgeable, and fun! My kids loved the experience. Definitely a neat little day trip. They aren't funded except by donations, so go give them some love!! :)
Being there and spending some time sitting outside magically takes you back to the times when those trains ran thru the city, with a small town feel and life wasn't so busy. It's very nostalgic.
This is a cute little museum. It has a lot of historical "artifacts" from the 1920s to the 1950s. There is a cool old music box, some old toys, and some WW1 and 2 artifacts. It is small and certainly not modern, but for $4 for adults and children six and under are free, I would say it's worth it. There is a railroad car that was the conductors office, and that was fun to walk through as well. Along the promenade there are several old trains to see and an old Post office. There are functioning railroad cars as well since the Filmore Railroad company still runs trains out of the depot here. There is a little antique store that is inside two old cars. All in all a good little 1-2 hour excursion for me and my four year old.
Enjoyed looking at the old pictures, since I grew in Fillmore. They have done a great job.
Fillmore is a great day trip from LA with the kids. You can visit Bennet's Honey Farm, The Fish Hatchery and the Fillmore Historical Museum! The Museum has tons of trains around and if you ask, they might even open the caboose to show your kids! The museum has some interesting things in it if you do the tour. The highlight is probably the huge music box that used to be in an old theater. But even the ground are cool. My son loves the gazebo. In addition there is the old dentist house (which we didn't do this time, but have done in the past) which is VERY cool! Ask to see that! There are other things to do in Fillmore too, like antique shops and even a winery in walking distance!
There a very nice steam train engine. buy tickets if you want to take a ride on train. The Steak selling here is really delicious. nothing to see much except for the steam train.
Wonderfully beautiful. Has unusual items on display. Some not seen in millenia. Well worth the time and effort.

Great clean park, dog bags provided close by, shade on a hot summer day, close to walking trails and access to grocery store a block away
Very nice park with 2 play areas. Beautiful mountain views.
Very good park for toddlers and big kids. Large green field and the mountain view is awesome.
The bike path behind the park provides a spectacular view of our mountains! ❤️‍🔥🌄👍 (Let's keep it litter free!)
Great open space!! My daughter loves the jungle gym, fun place to hangout with friends and family.
The park itself seems pretty well-maintained, baseball fields, a small playground, and lots of lawn. But I was there at 9 in the morning on a weekday and I saw two people sleeping on benches. It's not somewhere I feel safe bringing my son to play. Also pretty disappointing that there's no sand or swings
Clean, lots of shade along the edge of the baseball diamonds, and a few little picnic tables with BBQ grills. Has public restrooms and some playground equipment. Overall, it's a great park to spend an hour.
Absolutely a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. The grounds are lush and green. Just standing there looking at the surrounding mountains I feel fortunate to live down the street from Shell's park.

This is not your mothers antique store. They have creepy, crawly, scaly critters, albums, art, fabric, cameras, everything for the mad scientist is your life and more. Dont be afraid to ask and keep your eyes open for something to jump out at you.
Fantastic store! Much history and unusual fun vintage items! Shop owners are amazing! A must see!!! I would have spent more than I wanted with their items! Definitely a place to go! I will return soon.....😁
Amazing store amazing products creative and interesting in always if you're looking for something out of the ordinary that's got incredible style and a story this is definitely the place
Great antique store in Fillmore california. Lots of industrial items and some movie memorabilia along with a great medical room. A must visit when in the area.
A great eclectic mix, more a museum than a store. Cool that you can take this great stuff home.
Awesome curiosities and fun items throughout! A must see!
