Great beach that you can take a dog (on leash) water was clear and comfortable. Not many people when we visited. Smallest hike I recommend shorts and sandals. Good amount of stairs with sometimes deep sand. Highly recommend for a day trip, seems safe and comfortable for kids and pets.
Went and did the little trail to the beach for Mt baldy. Drove the roads next to the lake and saw the historical houses. Very cool little pit stop you shouldn't miss! Ended our journey with the Diana of the dunes trail loved learning about her and her history of the area. Looks like a great place to have a beach day in the summer.
This park is definitely different to a lot of the other national parks out there. If you're willing to explore, you can find some quiet, peaceful areas of the park. The beach can be accessed in a number of different spots and the lake was very calm during my visit.
This national (and state) park is one of the most unique, beautiful parks that’s centered along water. Me and my wife spent 4 days in Michigan city and this was the main attraction for the entire trip! there is so much you can do here, so many awesome views, trails, sunsets, dunes you can climb, and miles of shoreline to explore. The best part is (esp if you dont like the ocean and the crowds) this place brings the best of both worlds: Feels and looks JUST like the ocean (but cleaner and not humid) but don’t have to worry about sharks and all that stuff. We also did the 3 Dunes Challenge (if you don’t know, look it up ;) which was really cool and rewarding. We couldn’t explore every trail and area of the park since there was so much to see so definitely take a few days to go to everything.
Absolutely beautiful national park. Extremely helpful and kind rangers, they spent time helping us find which parts of the park we'd enjoy most as we didn't have a full day to spend. The park featured impeccably kept trails, boardwalks and other structures, gorgeous natural landscapes and interesting plant life. Throughout the park there were wonderful birding opportunities, and we did see other wildlife, like insects and snapping turtles. Would love to return and get to all the parts we were too pressed for time to see. Stop in at the visitors center, well worth it.
Beautiful beaches attract many visitors, and there are fantastic hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty. On nice days, arrive early to avoid a 45-minute or longer wait at the gate. Entry fees are $7 for residents and $12 for non-residents. There’s a charming cafe and a rooftop bar/restaurant. Most trails and beaches are dog-friendly, although the main swimming area doesn’t allow them. The washrooms and dressing areas have been newly remodeled and were clean during our visit.
We had an amazing experience at Indiana Dunes National Park! The park is incredibly beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a perfect mix of nature, activity, and relaxation. We explored all three trails — each one had its own charm, from peaceful forested paths to scenic dunes and lake views. The trails were well-marked and enjoyable to hike. Afterward, we spent time at the beach, which was clean, quiet, and absolutely stunning. One of the highlights was being able to see the Chicago skyline in the distance from the beach — it was a breathtaking sight with the city rising across Lake Michigan. The combination of natural beauty and that unexpected view made it feel really special. The whole park had a calm, welcoming vibe. It’s a great destination whether you’re hiking, picnicking, or just looking to relax by the water. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!
Pretty cute little national park. We came to Chicago for our anniversary and wanted to knock off another national park off the list. This was our first time swimming in a great lake. Pretty cool to experience. The beaches were really nice, water smelt a little bad and couldn't see through it half past your leg. The waves were realllyy strong they had warnings for rip tides and bacteria in water so we were cautious. We did 2 hikes near the beach. I only think there were 1, max 2 more trails you could walk from the parking lot. We wanted to go to the Indiana State park too but had to be back to Chicago for a boat tour. We spent 3 hours here. We brought our own food but the did have a place you could buy food and a shower and bathrooms right next to the beach. Overall a fun experience and happy to have it off our list.

I visited the Indiana Dunes today, it was really wonderful national park with nice beach and sand dunes. The rangers in the visitor center is really helpful and guide you to go to nice trekking and give you valuable information. Also don’t forget to take the parking pass to park inside the places of national park.
Beautiful visitor center with some benches and tables to sit and eat or drink surrounded by native plants. Knowledgeable staff and a cute little gift shop. The passport stamp is easily accessible. They have an EV charging station, but it appears to be very low wattage so charging would take a while. Pet area and waste bins. Water bottler filling station.
Nice, small visitor center with very helpful Park Ranger staff and a small gift shop to pick up souvenirs. Facilities are modern and well kept. If you decide to then visit the Indiana National Park West Beach, it's an 11.1 mile (19 minute) drive. See attached Google map.
Informative center for the Indiana Dunes State Park as well as the Indiana Dunes National Park. You can get your national park stamp here. Limited gift store, clean bathrooms, and plenty of maps to view. There is a learning area as well for all ages. I recommend stopping here if this is your first time to the area to get a good lay of the land and recommendations for beaches or trails tailored to your liking.
Nice National Park and visitor center. Friendly staff, plenty of maps and information. Clean restrooms. Nice gift shop. Native American interpretation trail on premises. Lots of wildflowers. Plenty of parking for cars and large vehicles and trailers (no overnight). Small picnic area.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Indiana Visitor Center at the Indiana State Dunes is fantastic! We stopped here in our motorhome and were pleasantly surprised that they allow overnight boondocking. It was not only very convenient but also felt safe and secure, which is a huge plus when you’re on the road. The facilities and grounds are spotless, and the atmosphere is peaceful. If you’re traveling through and need a clean, safe spot to rest your eyes for the night, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommend stopping here!
The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center is a great starting point for exploring the park. It offers friendly staff, informative exhibits, an orientation video, a gift shop, and helpful brochures. Amenities include restrooms, drinking fountains, and an EV charger, making it convenient for both first-time and returning visitors.
Friendly staff helped us find the perfect hikes for our ability/time, thanks so much! We really enjoyed our time at this park.

Beautiful trails near and farm and the Bailly Homestead! The trails go through the woods and are well-maintained and scenic. Beautiful area and well worth the visit!
Had a great time here-took a short dog friendly hike. Got to witness someone inside of the farm using fresh eggs from the henhouse, outback and hand rolling fresh noodles. Felt like a step back in time.
Indiana dunes is a great introduction dune. They do a great job of maintaining it. 10/10 fun on the beach. The volunteer staff were so helpful at the Bailly Homestead & Chellberg Farm. The park is split into many parts- dunes/ beach, farm area/grave yard, and visitor center. The areas are not walkable to each other- you have to go via car.
Chellberg Farm in Indiana Dunes National Park showcases 19th-century Swedish-American farm life, with a restored farmhouse, barn, and maple sugar camp. Accessible via a scenic trail, it offers peaceful hikes, ranger-led tours, and seasonal events like maple syrup demonstrations.
This trail was awesome, please make sure your dogs are on a leash as they (LEO or some one with enforcement powers) periodically would "remind" owners to have their pets leashed (I've seen this twice and a lot of people who normally walk there was surprised to see this being done so be careful). Also check yourself and and fur baby for ticks it doesn't matter what time of the year. This is a nice trail if you don't want to get sand in your sneakers or car, great place to walk the pups. Bring water and take a picture of the map before you start your journey. There is a place for kayaks but get with the main office for further info. Overall really happy with this area and will do it again. Definitely wear boots to protect your ankles and take your time as some spots seem uneven. This is a must especially for when I don't want sand in the vehicle. Don't take my word check it out on the weekend. The pics are some of the homes that where there from a very long time, anyway ENJOY
Lots of trails and beaches to explore. Junior ranger badges available. Very busy visitor center.
We love the walking paths and farm area here, there are restrooms and the trails are really well shaded. Many have stairs so you could push a stroller along the path from the parking lot to the historical house but not on the other trails
There was not much to see. There was a chicken coop with a rooster and some chickens. You couldn't go into the house. I'm not sure if that's because of all the federal funding cuts, but there was no one there. There was a big plaque describing the significance of the farm.

I am very satisfied with the park! I renewed my pass of all passes and had the parking included for an extra $10. $29.99 for the whole summer? I'll take it. You can't get that kind of a deal anywhere else! My kids love every single attraction there. I've taken my kids there at least 8 times this summer. I will definitely keep coming back. Great location - great prices - we are lucky to have it!
Pros: short lines, great for young kids, discount after 4p, friendly staff, red & blue slides were fun (even adults) Cons: only 2 adult slides were working (8ish were not in use!!), but we were NOT notified when we paid. Tubes cost a lot extra. Wave pool is very lame. Overall: not worth full price admission, but a good place for the family (go after 4p)
I went to this water park with my husband Ty last summer and had a great time! We think that some more slides would be a great addition!!!! Also having the date for the MAIN OPENING would be wonderful!!!!! As of now there is NO PLACE TO LOOK UP when 7 PEAKS WATER PARK will be OPEN.... I would like to see the bathrooms cleaned A LOT more than it was!! Nobody wants to go into a rest room that smells horrible! And the worse thing about it was there was an employee on his cellphone in the bathroom just holding the dirty, smelly mop while pushing it around!!!!!!!
The park is run down, the lazy river and two of the slides are down and don't sound like they will ever be repaired. They don't have any order at the concessions, you sit for 30 minutes waiting for hotdogs. You pay to park $5, you pay for entry $15, you pay to rent a tube (necessary for all but 1 of the slides) min $5. So you really pay 20/person to ride the slides. Was there on July 1st in which the only slides working needed tubes, and it wasn't till two hours into the park visit the other slides were operational. The last straw was when I went to discuss the fact that I never got my entire food order with the manager, they sent a park employee to tell me the manager didn't care, and that I can write whatever I want to. Stay away from this place, the original people were so nice and welcoming, new management is TERRIBLE.
I did have a lot of fun with my little brother for his birthday because he turned 16 and it was his golden birthday but when one of the people at the slides were being rude my little brother has severe autism so I have to go with him he knows how to swim I just have to go down with him because if I don't he won't get out of the pool at the end the guy told me one at a time so I told him my reason of having to go down with him he said that's fine but he needs a life jacket so I just said k and went anyway. He doesn't need one he's taller than me and he's non verbal and he knows how to pop out of water and hold his breath he's not stupid. The waters 3ft deep not ten. All the other people watching the slides understood and we're really nice about it even the life guards but this guy was just rude sorry I have to go with him so he gets out and in case he does get out he doesn't run off where I can't find him.
The waterpark really turned around this year. They have great landscaping, clean bathrooms and shaded pavillions, picnic tables with umbrellas. The park looks amazing and is great for the kids. The lifeguards are friendly and do their jobs very well. Definitely going back this week with my season pass!
What is going on at this waterpark!? Now the wave pool is NOT WORKING, there is goose poop everywhere , even in the pools! This is dangerous to small children and someone there should know this fact. The wooden stairs to the slides are covered with algae and dangerously slick. And the restrooms are filthy. If you are not going to take care of this place stop selling passes and close it before someone gets seriously hurt or sick.
I remember when it easy splash down dunes...they had a lazy river..now with this place they must of decided to not hav3 one...that's your $$$$ making right there and when I went last summer with a group we were a little disappointed that no lazy river was there and we only stayed for an hour, food was horrible, so we packed up and went to another water park instead. Please put a lazy river in that place I'm ..telling people will stay and get better cooks for the food.

YUM! 🤤 Fabulous Burger & fries! Hit the spot on the rainy election night. Our server was so attentive and friendly. Fun atmosphere with the classic twist. Would definitely recommend and return if passing through again.
Village Tavern is a typical bar and tavern experience. While the burger was decent, there wasn't much else to write home about during the meal. Unfortunately, my order was messed up (wrong fries and no bacon on the burger as requested), and the replacement fries arrived borderline burnt. Service was super spotty with drinks taking forever to arrive and minimal interaction with the waitress to even address the errors. The bar was also very smoky and dated, which made the atmosphere unpleasant. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, and I'll likely not return.
This is a local bar that I have frequented a handful of times. Aside from good drinks and friendly people, they also serve some really good food. They have a full menu with everything from typical bar food to ribs, soups, burgers, chicken, and different fish dinners on Fridays. If you're a chili lover, then you must try it here. Many people say it's a favorite. If you're only looking for a bar experience, you can get that here too. There is also outdoor seating for those warm summer nights.
Went here for lunch,I had a Turkey BLT and fries, everything was delicious and service was great.
Love it! Their salads are amazing (all their food is great but the salads are my fav) large portions fresh delicious at a fantastic price. The staff is attentive and knows what I want when I call. I highly recommend
Went for Memorial Day lunch bc it was one of the few places open. I got the fish basket (as I have in the past) and my husband got the patty melt sub onion rings. Unfortunately the food was meh. I've had their fish basket before with hand breaded fillets that you could tell were real bc their shapes were all different and the better was uneven. Instead I got 3 uniform triangle shaped pieces of freezer fish. Fries were good, coleslaw sucked- minced and soupy. But I was super disappointed about the fish. Husband's sandwich was meh. Burger patty thinned out and kinda rubbery. No crispy edges. And the sauce was not patty melt sauce. Don't know what it was tho. Also, to substitute a half order of onion rings instead of fries it was $5.50. Ridiculous. Service was awesome, everything was ordered correctly. Just wish lunch tasted better.
Came here to get dinner. Online, it shows the kitchen open till 12, we called about 3 minutes after 10, and was told that the kitchen has been closed since 10. You should not have hours listed online that do not match what you offer. I am very disappointed, and now we have to deal with a group of people that all made food choices from here to choose elsewhere. Lost a lot of business due to the wrong hours listed. In addition, the lady who answered the phone was quite rude and not apologetic at all for your incorrect listing that caused us this inconvenience.
Our server Stacey was fantastic! We’re not from the area and she gave us suggestions on what to see here. Very friendly and efficient! Food was very good!

Bellissima (Renee & Team) are hands down the best. I’ve been going to Renee 7+ years and she is gifted at what she does. I’ve never had anything done that wasn’t by Renee or her team. My husband also visited there to have some sun spots removed. He said he didn’t feel a thing and so far love the results! I also had 6 sessions of Emsculpt Neo and I’m blown away by the results. My before/after pics are below. Bellisima has a customer for life and I recommend them to all my friends/family!
Renee is a lovely lady with over 20+ years of nursing experience. All the girls she employs are wonderful and well trained. The prices are the best in the area and the vibes are always on point.
I had my first dermaplaning and brow lamination with Brittany. Everyone there was extremely friendly, the place is very clean and beautiful. Brittany took the time to explain the entire procedure and answer all my questions. I absolutely loved my results. My makeup looked so smooth after and she gave my sparse brows a little more shape. I am hooked! I will absolutely be back!!
Love this place. If you're looking for services to look and feel better this is the place to go. I've had procedures with Alex and Renee and a facial with Jamie. They are all caring and professional. The Jelly facial + massage with Jamie is a must. My skin is so soft and the neck/shoulder massage was amazing! It was the best facial I've ever had. Beats the spas in Chicago by far.
So far I’ve done a facial, derma-plane, and eye brow lamination with Jamie. She did a wonderful job with each. She is very knowledgeable in what she does and a very fun energy to be around and talk to when sitting through your appointment. She kept the environment very clean and relaxing. I highly recommend booking with Jamie :)
I've been multiple times to Bellisima for laser hair removal and lip fillers. I'm constantly getting compliments on my lips and genuinely enjoy the atmosphere of this boutique. Renee is always professional and never makes me feel nervous about receiving her services. 👍🏼👍🏼 Two thumbs up.
Jamie, thank you for a fabulous eyebrow tint. I'm glowing from ear to ear. I never, ever will take for granted that I am in the hands of greatness when I am at Bellissima Beauty Boutique. Your knowledge, application, and attention to detail to treat & beautify your clients can never be underestimated. You have a beautiful soul, and you make me feel comfortable in my own skin. I appreciate the time we get to spend together during our glam sessions. No doubt that I will be back soon. Thank you for everything.
I got a facial from Jamie and she was very knowledgeable about all the questions i had regarding my skin and walked me through what she was actually doing and how it would benefit me in the long run to be consistent. It was so relaxing and she was such a sweet heart. 100% would book again with her!
