Coppes Commons, a renovated factory in an Amish town, is now home to a diverse array of specialty shops offering locally-made and handcrafted items. Visitors can witness the creation of ice cream treats using liquid nitrogen, sample gourmet popcorn flavors, and savor hot pretzels made from a secret Amish recipe. Culinary Mill offers smoked cheddar and pulled pork while Rocket Science Ice Cream serves up creamy delights. Main Street Roasters provides freshly brewed coffee and pastries.
Coppes Commons is hands-down one of my favorite spots to visit! Although it’s a bit of a drive from Mishawaka, it’s always worth the trip. Each visit feels like discovering a hidden gem, and I find myself looking forward to exploring something new every time. One of the absolute highlights is the mini Amish grocery store – it has everything you can think of, and the prices are really reasonable, which makes it hard to resist picking up a few things (or a lot!). Another must-visit is the popcorn shop; their selection of flavors is incredible, and every batch tastes freshly made and delicious. While I’m always drawn to the aesthetic of the coffee shop, I’ll admit the coffee could use a bit more love in terms of taste. But that’s a small trade-off for the friendly atmosphere and beautiful decor – not to mention the breathtaking outdoor area, where you can relax and take in the gorgeous views. The entire space has such a warm and inviting vibe, and the people working there are always friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for a spot to hang out, shop small, and soak in some beauty, you have to check out Coppes Commons! Trust me, this place is a gem.

Very clean, large area for several families to enjoy coffee. There are some ithers, too, but my iced mocha was wonderful by itself!
Jay E — Google review
A very interesting place filled with an antique mall, restaurants, and sweets! There is a full market complete with local spices and ingredients, some freshly made grab-n-go sandwiches with a made-to-order deli counter. There are gift stores and a lot of empty space on the 2nd level. Restrooms are clean, modern, and handicapped accessible. The Coppes cabinet museum is upstairs. I found the employee group photos from the early 1900's especially interesting.
Jill F — Google review
Cool place cool shops but when we were shopping none of the stores said they were closing a lady from the coffee shop redhead was rude turn the lights off on that part of building trying to find a exit in pitch black an kicked us out we had to walk all away around the factory just to get to our vehicle. I would like to speak to her boss bout incident. Not getting YouTube review for that if u gonna be rude to your customers!

What a cute place. There's a bunch of little shops in this building including a popcorn place, taco restaurant, coffee shop, antique store, and more. There's a grocery store filled with jellies, hams, candy, and baked goods. They have the best pulled pork sandwiches I ever had ( a long with the creamy potatoes!). You have to stop here if you are in the neighborhood.
Danielle — Google review
WOW, very cool place!! Stopped in on a Friday afternoon browsed different shoppes, bought a few goodies from the Amish bakery, Strawberry Rhubarb jam and some popcorn. The place was interesting and fun to meander through,..great antiques to peruse!

We went antiquing and stopped here to look at the item's and I wasn't disappointed at all Way to Go
Turtledove R — Google review
Really awesome place. It has a wonderful bakery, that also serves food. An old time grocery that also serves food. Had a very good pulled pork sandwich and homemade macaroni salad, very tasty. There are many other shops, but unfortunately I didn't have time to experience the others. Awesome place.

Coffee shop
Main Street Roasters is a popular spot in town, offering a variety of freshly brewed coffee, delicious pastries, and sandwiches. The place has a pleasant atmosphere and is frequented by a mix of locals and visitors, including Amish and English communities, families, students, and couples. While it can get busy at times, the patient and friendly staff make the experience enjoyable. The cafe also boasts an excellent rewards program for regular customers.
Main Street is my favorite coffee shop to date whether it’s going with family, friends or alone. My coffee is always perfect and I’ve never been disappointed. The menu variety is incredible as well. The atmosphere is warm and inviting whether you’re working or with you family, there’s room for it all. I love the Alli Cat cafe for my little one. My only complaint/suggestion is that a changing table be added to the restroom! It would make the experience that much better!
Peyton M — Google review
So nice here and it’s clean and they know how to make the best blended drinks ! The only thing I would recommend is making an XL size! I get the chocolate covered marshmellows! So tasty and so good. Well worth $6.41 ( every cent is worth it )
Derek T — Google review
This is my favorite coffee shop! Great, friendly service, food is amazing. Thank you! Coffee choice and quality are absolutely perfect. Massive drink varieties. Merchamdise and gift shop inside, decor, and vibe is just one of a kind, extra seating and tables upstairs. I could go on and on about it.......
Rodnik H — Google review
It's a nice coffee shop with a great atmosphere, but I do wish they kept it cleaner. The tables are hardly ever wiped and there's often food on the floor around the tables. I wish it was cleaned regularly. Also, they have nice music playing but you can also hear separate music coming from the kitchen so if you are trying to work it's off-putting to hear 2 different songs.
Sarah — Google review
Main Street Roasters coffee is one of the best coffees I have ever drank. There Holiday blends are so good and not over bering with strong flavors of spices but just right blend to drink. The atmosphere at the shop is very relaxing and employees are always friendly. I encourage everyone to try them out and you will find yourselve going back to them over and over again.
Doug/Joanne M — Google review
I’ve been here several times over the years and I’ve always been impressed! They have very reasonable prices and great coffee. The food is good as well. Last time I was there I got a frittata, very delicious. There’s lots of room to sit, visit, or get work done.
Briana W — Google review
I ordered a coffee mug online for Boss’s Day. It was absolutely beautiful! It was wrapped very securely for shipping. Other places offered the mug as well, but Main Street Roasters was the only business that offered a fast shipping option. Thank you so much for that. It made my gift basket complete!
Danni U — Google review
I could not possibly start my day without Main Street Roasters. Not only is it the freshest, best tasting coffee, the aroma is intoxicating & makes my whole house smell amazing! I have not drank another coffee brand since I discovered them. Ultimate comfort for this life long customer!

Golf course
Golf driving range
McCormick Creek Golf Course is a well-maintained municipal par-72 course with varying tee distances suitable for different skill levels. The course features water hazards on nearly every hole and is surrounded by neighborhoods, bike paths, and a park. It's known for its inclusive atmosphere, welcoming both kids and seniors. The staff is accommodating and non-judgmental, making it an ideal place for golfers of all abilities.
I played here for a golf outing so I don't know the greens fee since it was included in the overall total for the outing. But with that being said i had a great time. The course was in great shape. The fairways are great as are the greens. The par 3's were real challenging, I think we only birdied one. Overall it's a real nice course. If I lived closer I'd totally play here often. (I live 2hrs from this course.)
Christopher ( — Google review
I was there for my first time last year and I'll be going back again in two days to play in a charity tournament. The course was challenging for me, especially being my first visit 😁. The greens were really fast and lots of undulations. Hopefully I can improve on my puttings this time around. Wonderful public golf course with a beautiful driving range as well. Cannot wait to go back and play ⛳ again!
Kham K — Google review
This is a beautiful course in a friendly small city. Very well cared for and accessible. McCormick Creek is an 18-hole, par-72 and features water hazards on nearly every hole and lots of trees. There are neighborhoods bike paths and park that border most of the course. A very inclusive course that you will find both kids and seniors on. The pro is top notch.
Rocki S — Google review
Very nice course, it's a open and fairly easy course, but a lot of fun. Has some water hazards and sand traps to make it just enough of a challenge.
Devin — Google review
Typical muni. Greens and fairways inconsistent. Very confusing layout. 1st time players easily lost. GPS for Garmin outdated. Decent if you are close bye. Not worth a drive
John F — Google review
Golfed here twice so far this year. Both time have been great. I bring along my nefew who is a little special needs and still learning to golf. The staff is always great. Never any judgement. Most of the players we have came across have been great always offering tips to him as we let them play through (because we are slow) prices are good course is great shape.
Jesse S — Google review
Really enjoyed my round at McCormick Golf Course. The course was in pretty good shape overall, greens were a little worn in spots, but they still rolled very nicely. The layout is fun, with a good mix of holes that keep things interesting without being overly tough. It’s the kind of course where you can relax and still feel like you’re getting a solid game in. Staff was friendly, and the pace of play was surprisingly smooth for a weekend. Not perfect, but definitely a course I’d come back to. It’s a solid spot for a laid-back round with great views.
Joe M — Google review
One of the best municipal golf courses I've ever played. Greens are nicely manicured and layout is easy to navigate. We just walked up and were able to play. No reserved tee time necessary. Definitely will be back!

General store
Neighbors Mercantile Co is a unique store that celebrates Midwest and small-town traditions, offering a wide range of products including outdoor gear, apparel, toys, home goods, snacks, and kitchenware. The two-story store provides an elevator for accessibility and shopping carts for convenience. Visitors can enjoy the neighborly vibes with friendly staff welcoming them at the door and offering complimentary coffee and bottled water.
Fun and beautiful store that is great for finding gifts. Also, many camping/outdoors items. They hosted a book launch and signing event for us and their friendly staff was incredibly accommodating.
David F — Google review
We love to come to Nappanee at least once a year, and today we discovered a new-to-us shop, Neighbors Mercantile. Isaiah welcomed us in and Heidi helped us with any questions we had about merchandise. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection and affordability of unique items. Definitely check it out if you're in town!
Katie W — Google review
Friendly and attentive staff along with unique items perfect for gifting! We received exceptional customer service from Isaiah. He was so kind to my young son and made him feel really cool and special when he asked to see his new monster truck. This is the kind of hometown charm that will continue to bring us back as repeat customers!

My favorite place in Nappanee to browse and find gifts, decor, and more! It’s always set up so beautifully. Very high quality items and friendly staff!

Restaurant
The Barns at Nappanee offers a rustic retreat with comfortable lodging and a range of amenities, including a theater, outdoor pool, and dining options. Visitors can enjoy various restaurants on the historic site, such as the Farm Table restaurant featuring the famous Threshers Dinner and The Barns Steakhouse offering locally-raised Wagyu and Angus Beef. Additionally, guests can indulge in sweet treats at the Sweet Cream Cabin.
Beautiful venue for a rustic wedding or party. The Amish Acres restaurant provides lighting throughout (string lights), and you only need additional table decor. Food was pretty good - it would be a matter of opinion, really. The bean soup not so great, the fried chicken, beef & mashed potatoes were good, but I don't remember there being a fresh salad. Their homemade bread and apple butter were very good, but the apple cider burns your throat (too many preservatives and doesn't taste natural). The service was wonderful and helpful.
Emma S — Google review
We are so happy we chose The Barns for our wedding venue! The food was AMAZING, the atmosphere incredible, and Stacey and her event team made magic! The whole process was seamless and Stacey was incredibly accommodating. Our day was a magical fairytale! The Barns has become such a special place for us. We can’t say thank you enough!
Julie T — Google review
Best buffet/family style restaurant in the area. Food and service was good. A beautiful country atmosphere makes for a pleasant dining experience. Deserts were the best around. A very large room, makes wait times shorter. Plenty of parking.
Vince S — Google review
Had a very nice guide who was very knowledgeable about the original family and the Amish ways. We got a wagon ride and stopped by the old school house. Our guide told us about the old school and the Amish school of today. Then we got a buggy ride, I really enjoyed it. After the tour we stopped into the general store and purchased a few items. The large round barn was amazing. Great place to visit.

This was our first stop in Nappanee on the Heritage Trail. While we didn't get to see all of the property (aside from the restaurant in another review, which is amazing), we got a good enough taste that will be back to get the full experience. The shops that dot the property are charming and welcoming. We just had to pop our heads into the round performance theater. There wasnt a show going on, but the gentleman on staff volunteered to turn the lights on and see the performance space. It was beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen a structure hand crafted so beautifully. Our next visit will probably be an overnight experience.

Barns hosted Elcofest '23...what an event! If the burgers they made are representative of their menu, I'm coming back for sure! Best grilled burger from under a tent I can remember ever having.
Paul H — Google review
My husband and I bought their overnight getaway package which was including hotel stay, dinner, theater, house and farm tour etc. The Farm Feast dinner was very good. They gave you lots of foods and we were so full and took our desserts to go. However, the hotel that they provided was located near the railroads. Trains passed by multiple times per night. For a city girl like me trying to sleep was tough. We enjoyed the show in the Round Barn. Very cozy! We went there from Friday to Sunday and thought we would visit many stores/places. However, most stores in the town of Nappanee closed early around 5pm and closed all day on Sunday. That was a big disappointment for us. If we decided to visit there again, we will go there very early.

Food was good and a reasonable price. The workers were real nice. Enjoyed the icecream on a hot day, and the Elco fest car show outside was great. Highly recommend.

Ice cream shop
Rocket Science Ice Cream in Nappanee is a delightful destination for ice cream lovers of all ages. Nestled within the charming Coppes Commons, this unique spot offers an exciting experience as visitors can watch their ice cream being made with liquid nitrogen right before their eyes. The creativity behind the flavors is truly impressive, allowing guests to either choose from popular combinations or invent their own. With generous portions that often overflow, it's no wonder that families and kids alike are drawn to this fun-filled treat stop.
Such a great place to enjoy! They even stayed open a bit past closing time as our show didn't get out soon enough for us to get over before 5pm. The workers were so sweet and kind and while our party was well aware we were being served past closing hours, we were never made to feel rushed or that business was a bother. Thank you Rocket Science Creamery for going above and beyond! I will be bringing my four boys and telling everyone about you.

Nestled in the heart of Nappanee, the Dutch Village Restaurant is a beloved spot for those seeking hearty comfort food at reasonable prices. Known for its inviting atmosphere and friendly service, this restaurant offers a delightful hot buffet every Saturday morning along with daily specials that keep locals coming back for more. Diners rave about generous portions and flavorful dishes, making it a must-visit destination.
We have been here twice, both times have been 5 stars. This round we had the Haystack & Western Omlet with side of Hashbrowns & bacon 🥓 😋 to go. The food is great each time with plenty in portions and flavor to water your taste buds. The only negative is I think their biscuits this round was dry, but the previous time they were spectacular in flavor and moist. The gentleman on the phone was helpful with the old menu that was online, posting pix of new menu with this rating. The waitress that checked me out was rushed from how packed and waiting line at the door, but gave me her full attention to make sure they had our order correct. This out of the way little breakfast lunch/dinner (open till 2pm) will make you at home, and you'll feel well fed with a friend when done. Our Youtube at #DTNLivingLife # DTNTransporter

Waitress was very nice. Place seems understaffed for the amount of ppl. Food was bland and the ribeye is not good at all for asking for it rare it came out like leather. Hash-browns were asked to be crispy and were soggy. Be prepared to wait. The only thing good is the homemade bread.

Play seem to be really busy, the food was pretty good. The coffee is absolutely fantastic. The only grumbles I have is, she told me she would bring me some peach jelly and she never did. And my coffee was only refilled once. I wish I would have got a picture of the food but I was so hungry.

Run dont walk to try out Dutch Village!! First time there this week and so good I had to go back a couple days later for round 2. Between both visits we ordered the Backroad Breakfast, has eggs, biscuits and gravy and potatoes. The gravy was amazing, perfect consistency, not runny, flavor was perfect led by nice size chunks of sausage. Great value fills you up for a great price. The pancakes are the size of your head, no lie. Perfectly cooked and delicious. The other star along with the gravy was the Frosted Cinamon French toast. Thing should be illegal, something that good has to be a crime!! The Frech Toast was perfect, the cinnamon was sooo good. Breakfast item? Dessert? Who cares, just get it as you will not be disappointed. 100% will go back everytime I'm in the Clymer area!!

Under new ownership, Perfect Twist Pretzels has seen a significant improvement in the quality and consistency of their pretzels. Their hours are also conveniently accommodating. Customers particularly enjoy their pigs in a blanket special and wish it was available year-round. The pretzels are baked fresh to order, including options like pizza pockets and pretzel bites that are highly praised for being delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant, making it a great place to stop by for a tasty pretzel experience.
SO GOOD. I got the pretzel combo with cheddar cheese. This is much better than any large chain pretzel places. It was about $7 and the pretzel was large, the drink was a good size and it included a small bag of chips.

Tried the pretzel pocket sandwich. I enjoyed the pizza pretzel pocket with pepperoni and mozzarella. Yum!!! They have regular pretzels with cheese and other creations. A must try and in a great location.

This place is in coppes commons on the side facing Market St. They have super yummy soft pretzels! I did the pizza pretzel and my son had just ham inside his. The staff was very friendly and named all the different filling options. There is also pop and slushies to drink. They are connected to the Dutch Kernel Gourmet Popcorn so you can have yummy popcorn afterward.

This cute little shop is conveniently located in Coppes Commons. The employees are all friendly and helpful. They have pretzels and pretzel pockets, so they can be good for a meal, a snack, or dessert. It has a cozy atmosphere with nice decor. Their prices are great too! It is overall a really nice place to eat!
