We went for the dinner night train ride and it was one of the best things we have ever done. All 6 of us thought the steaks, beans and coleslaw were very good and riding on a try steam train was relaxing and fun. Hearing the whistle while looking at the stars in the sky was a truly great experience. The singing around the campfire was fun for everyone from 6 years old to the 16year old. I would definitely go again if we are in the area and would suggest it to anyone.
Getaway to Yosemite for the first time. Wifey surprised the family with moonlight dinner ride. Apparently the last of the season! So much fun, food was good (better than expected, honestly), and the train ride and time at camp were fantastic. Definitely one of our best activities. Tip: bring a blanket
Our whole community went for a special Moonlight Dinner Ride booking and had such a wonderful time! Dinner was delicious — our steaks were cooked perfectly — while a live band played the entire evening, from dinner to the campfire stop in the forest. The scenic train ride included historical narration, and our host was knowledgeable and engaging. We also tried gold panning with our toddler, which he absolutely loved, and explored the charming museum on site. Everything was well organized, family-friendly, and full of character. It was such a memorable experience — we’re already planning to make this an annual family tradition. Highly recommend!
We took the 9:30am train ride yesterday and loved it. All the workers were nice. shout out to Sean the conductor and Randall at the gold mining. They made it fun and shared a lot of facts.
It’s a fantastic place for a family day out, you can bring your kids over there and they will enjoy the rail rides and history of California trains. They have a museum as well, everything is included one ticket. I do recommend to purchase tickets from online and you can do it just day before your trip. They have nice parking and it’s free and they have small cafe you can enjoy snacks and coffee, do not miss to visit the gift shop, they have lots of nice stuff for gifts. Important note: 1. It’s mountain so you need to full gas on your car. 2. It’s cold so bring your jacket with you specially for the kids. 3. Best times to visit October and November 4. Do not go raining time 5. Early sunny morning start time is best
If you haven't gone this is your sign to go! Staff was very friendly! Of course the highlight was the train ride! The ride is about 1 hour. After the ride though, they do have gift shops and a place where you can buy lunch. It was a great experience for the kids. A nice change of scenery.
Great experience in a wonderful environment. It can be a very nice day out, the price for a one hour ride should be a little lower in my opinion with minimum price for a one hour ride per person at $40 plus the cost to get there. The workers are great.
We found this fairly underwhelming for our very adventurous family. It was a nice and scenic ride through the trees with a brief stop near a small creek. If you have very small kids, this will be a hit - big train, great whistle, cute gift shop, and many table options for where to picnic. But for older kids... there just wasn't enough excitement for them. We chose to eat on the train during the ride and the provided (paid for when we got our tickets) lunch was actually very good and well worth the price! The sandwiches are pretty big; we only ordered 2 lunches which each came with a sandwich, chips, cookie, and bottle of water. We cut the sandwiches in half and it was plenty for the 4 of us to share. Overall, I would not select this for our active family again. However, with little kids or elderly family members that may need a little less dramatic entertainment... this would be a nice lunch and ride to include in your day.

I could not recommend this place enough!! If I could give them more than 5 stars then I would. It’s so obvious that the horses are very well cared for and are having a great time. We did the 2 hour trek, the staff get you suited and booted (you get to keep the bandana afterwards!) and then choose a horse for you. After you’ve had your horse, you all go to the arena for a little while to get used to your horse and learn how to steer etc.. I’ve ridden horses before and this was still helpful to have. The trek itself can be challenging in terms of terrain if you’re not used to it, so if you’re not used to riding or want something easier, maybe go for the 1 hour trek instead. The staff are very friendly and always have time for a chat/questions. Parking is available but could be a little limited if there’s a trek before you.
The 1 hour is a PERFECT ride for the completely inexperienced rider. This was my kids (ages 7 and 10) first time on horses and they both had a fantastic time! My husband and I have a bit more experience, and while we both enjoyed watching the kids have fun (and the scenery, of course), this was definitely sitting on a horse thats on autopilot. We would have enjoyed something more challenging and especially with a smaller group - though we were very lucky to be the first 4 in line behind our guide (who was wonderful). I would 100% recommend this to friends that have no riding experience or who want to introduce their kids on some very sweet and safe horses! If you have any riding experience at all, perhaps the longer rides offer a little more freedom than the 1 hour.
Highly recommend for a great ride through Sequoia trees, creeks, and beautiful landscape. I was unfortunately a little late (construction traffic I didn’t know was going on since I was a tourist) and called ahead to let them know. They were so accommodating and nice about it and didn’t make me feel like a burden. We were given bandanas since it was a bit dusty on the trail, which is very considerate. Our guides shared interesting facts and history of the trees and area. All the horses were well suited and sure footed. The staff had water bottles for us after the ride. Will definitely ride here again next time I visit!
Wow, this place, the people, and the horses are beyond amazing. My eight year old daughter had the most positive experience for her first two horse rides on the one hour and two hour. I’ve been back for more by myself as well. Every ride and every horse has been fun, safe, beautiful, and exciting all at once. I love crossing streams especially. Every person working there seems to have been selected for their high EQ lol. Melanie, Maya, Cami, Noah—I wish I could just list everyone. Definitely go without any reservation (well, yes make a reservation but you know what I mean). I hear the horses spend years walking the trails before a person even rides them and they basically take you through the trail on auto pilot. Just the same, in case something more is needed, the training in handling the horses at the beginning of each ride is excellent and very easy to pick up. This was a clear difference from other places I have ridden. They also set the stirrups well (unlike other places again). You can’t beat the Yosemite area either—most beautiful place on earth. Go today!
Everything was wonderful! The staff was very knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and great with kids. Appreciated the thorough instruction and practice before hitting the trail. Also appreciated that it was women ran! The trail was beautiful, you cross the creek twice which were my favorite parts. The horses were amazing and lovely. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
An unbelievable experience. We'd never been horseback riding before and we immediately felt comfortable on the horses. The staff are all extremely friendly and actively engaged in making sure both you and the horses are safe. If you're looking for a memorable experience do yourself a favor and go for a ride here. As someone that's never ridden before the one hour ride was absolutely perfect. I think the two hour ride would have been too much for me for my first time. If you've had riding experience the two or five hour rides are I'm sure even more stunning than the one hour ride.
I had such a wonderful time horseback riding in Yosemite today! The staff were friendly, helpful, and made sure we felt comfortable the whole way. The horses were well trained and gentle, which made the ride relaxing and enjoyable. The trail itself was absolutely stunning—riding through the beautiful scenery gave me a whole new perspective of Yosemite.
We did the 1 hour ride and it was a fun adventurous ride. Ups and downs and crossing through the streams was so fun. Horses were all very calm and knew the trail well. Great for new riders, and young riders.

Had such a nice experience today that had to add my 5 star review. Received a 90 minute massage with aromatherapy and was perfect! The right amount of strength, with care and spotless manners. It was so good I lost notion of time and place. The SPA is super clean and has everything you need to be relaxed and comfortable. Great job 👏🏻 you guys made my day. Thanks! 😊
It was the best full body massage i have ever had. Faculties are top-class. As for their masseuses , Blake is an excellent professional. Thank you so much for making my stay perfect 👌
Michelle did an exceptional aroma Swedish massage for 90 minutes here. Strong, thorough and added hot stone given her advice, which really took it up a notch after having driven 3,700 miles to Yosemite. We had lunch in the restaurant upstairs which was pleasant post-massage experience. Well done, Michelle!!
Pricey but expected. With tip my wife and I paid about $320 for an hour couple's deep tissue massage after a long day of hiking during our honeymoon. First real massage here in the US and it was great. Relaxing....i forgot where I was. And the amenities the spa had were great as well. Quite clean, quiet, and a perfect way to end a day!
Really luxurious and very clean spa. Dominique was so courteous in her communication, she helped us find appointments the same day. We really appreciate her thoughtfulness.
Fantastic facial from Regina. The best facial I've ever had. Highly recommend.
Amazing, couples friendly spa. Love the couple’s relaxation space, lots of treatment options, super luxurious!
Excellent. Serene. Ask for Steven. You won’t regret.

Nice easy 2 mile round trip hike from the Trail head to the first water fall. Next time I'll remember bug spray but other than that a few steep climbs but easy for a beginner.
The first bridge is made of logs, so it's not really a traditional bridge, but I took my nephews and nieces across it, and it's definitely passable. Overall it was a great hike with such beautiful views.
This trailhead is unmarked but worth finding! It is only a 15 to 20 minute hike to the Red Rock Falls, shorter than other trails I researched. Stop on Road 630 when you see the sign that says “Sugar Pine Community:Private Road No Parking Beyond this Point”. There are 7-8 spots for cars on the side of the road there. To the right of that sign is a driveway, and the dirt trail curves to the right of that. If you cross a small foot bridge immediately you are on the correct path. The hike is beautiful and the falls are a lot of fun to explore.
I have been coming here for 24 years, the trash up there now is beyond disgusting, filled up whole backpack with trash. Our car was attempted to be broken into as well. They have added porta potties and trash cans to help alleviate the waste, not sure its helping though. The water felt great on a hot day, waterfall is always awesome, not too much water right now but still nice little get away from the heat
Forgot the name of the waterfall but very beautiful . I have gone a couple of times now and the water is ice cold
Nice place to take a walk and see the water run. Doesnt really have a scenery so to speak of like other trails.
Real nice area for exercising (hiking) water is freezing but feels good in the summer, bring a picnic
It's a very beautiful wonderful Trail I highly recommend it for families you can spend a great day there and just enjoy yourselves beautiful quiet peaceful plenty to see plenty to do.
