It's nice place to stay. 30 minutes drive from Six Glags Great America. Sunrise from the lake was an awesome view. Washroom facilities are fairly clean. Campground is inviting.
For city folks who miss the ocean, this beach delivers. Sand was soft and pebbles were smooth near the shore. Free admission, bathrooms available. No showers or running water. Bring your own water or a bag to fill and wash feet at car. Camp/Beach store is only open Thursday - Sunday.
A Pleasant, Spotless Day by the Lake Michigan Shore I recently spent a wonderful afternoon at Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park and was genuinely impressed. The environment felt incredibly peaceful and well cared for—everything was clean from the beach to the surrounding trails. What stood out most was how pleasant the experience was. The shoreline was inviting and perfect for unwinding, while the well-maintained amenities added to the enjoyment. Whether you’re camping, strolling along the dunes, or simply relaxing with a scenic view, this park delivers without fuss. Great for a solo escape or a quiet outing with loved ones—definitely worth a visit if you’re near Zion.
I booked a campsite online in Illinois website for the 4th of July. It wasn't too pricey, like a hundred bucks for three days. The site was near the bathrooms and showers, plus it had a fire pit, a bench, and electricity. The showers and bathrooms were really clean and nice. There was a supermarket, but they ran out of water and ice cream on that time. The beach was super close, and it was half sand, half stones. The only downside was the campsites were packed together, so it didn't feel very peaceful, more like a big party.
Favorite beach out of all of the other ones. It's completely free and well kept / clean, but there's no life guards. The beach is very sandy and has a lot of space where you can walk or swim. There are some seagulls, so be careful around your food. There's not a lot of them though and they're easily avoidable by moving a few feet
Such a beautiful beach. Reminds me of my time in Florida spent along the rock jetties. My young daughter loves to play with the rocks and sand. On a hot summer day the cold water feels so refreshing.
Loved the atmosphere and the beautiful sandy beach is big enough that it never felt too crowded. Free parking and entry. Only downside was that I wasn't aware of all the rocks in the water. I would bring water shoes next time as it was quite painful on the feet. 🙃 Other than that it's an excellent area. If I lived nearby I would visit often.
The particular day I went (late Sept) was sumy because I was in the area for something else. There was almost no one on the beach. It was a beautiful day, so I paced the shore for a bit before laying out a blanket to read and listen to the waves rolling in. I couldn't stay long but it looked like a beautiful park and would definitely go back 😊

Edge of Escape has one of the most detailed and immersive escape rooms we’ve ever experienced! The quality and craftsmanship of the rooms are second to none. We tackled House of Specter — an extremely challenging and brilliantly designed experience. The puzzles were incredibly unique and had our brains working at full capacity from start to finish! The dim lighting added an extra layer of difficulty, forcing us to think creatively and work even harder as a team. I’d definitely recommend this room for experienced escape room enthusiasts, though anyone looking for a fun and engaging challenge will have a great time. Huge thanks to Dave, our Game Master, for being so accommodating and adding some humor to the experience — and a big shoutout to Johnathan and Tony for always being so welcoming! We can’t wait to return and take on the next room! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended!
We recently hosted our corporate event at the escape room and haunted house for the second consecutive year, and it was an absolute blast! The experience was exciting, thrilling, and delightfully scary, providing a perfect blend of fun and adventure. Our team, including senior leaders, directors, and stakeholders, made wonderful memories together. This event has become the talk of the office, and it's clear why—it’s an excellent team-building activity that brings everyone closer together. Highly recommend for any group looking to boost morale and foster connections. We'll definitely consider coming back next year!
This place was awesome. Really really well done. We did the Time Machine experience. We had a larger group with a bunch of kiddos. 4 adults and 5 kids, ages 12-5. It was a bit chaotic and we definitely needed the game hosts help lol but we got through it in time. The scenes and all the elements were beautifully done. I think next time we will do it with a smaller group but we will definitely be back.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We visited **Edge of Escape Room** today and had such an amazing experience! I went with my son and his friend, both 11 years old, and we did the **Tunnel escape room**. It was a lot of fun – definitely pretty challenging, but the Puzzle Master was absolutely amazing. He guided us when we ran into difficulty and made sure we still felt like we were solving things ourselves. The room itself was **incredibly detailed and really well set up**. After we finished, he even showed us a sample of another room, which looked so cool – we can’t wait to come back and try it. Overall, this was probably the **best escape room we’ve ever been to**. We had such a great time and will definitely be back soon!
5 friends and I booked two lanes for axe throwing and had an amazing time. Our Axe Master, Dave, was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. The room was immaculate with fun decor to go along with the Dungeon Of Doom, which is in the same building. There are multiple games to choose from and although a couple of us were beginners, we caught on fairly quickly. I would highly recommend this as a fun outing to anyone. We will definitely be back!
Amazing experience from start to finish! Rooms are decorated extremely well and you felt very realistic. Dave was the best game master. He really made the whole experience amazing. Highly recommend this place! One of the best escape rooms I’ve ever been to.
It was my first time doing an escape room and I'm so glad I was able to have my experience here! A friend and I did the House of Specter, which we were advised was the most challenging. I was afraid we weren't going to beat it, but with the help of our gm Dave we did and it was so fun! Crazy effort and detail put into the setup of everything, and the puzzles themselves were very interesting and unique. Our gm Dave was super nice and welcoming which added to this 10/10 experience, he even gave us a sneak peak of the haunted house🤭 which from what i saw was also crazy detailed. Nothing like i've seen from other haunted houses. Needless to say I'm excited to come back once they're officially open! Shoutout to Tony who checked in on us after the escape room. You guys are doing an amazing job and I'll see you again!
'Edge of Escape’ is simply phenomenal! I had the pleasure of working with the general manager, Johnathan, for about two months to plan a private event for 24 people. He was nothing short of amazing, making the whole booking process a breeze and accommodating all of our needs. The escape rooms were top-notch, each one offering a unique and vibrant experience. We had the opportunity to explore three distinct rooms, including their latest addition, which was completed just a few days prior. The cherry on top was the behind-the-scenes tour of their haunted house, the ‘Dungeon of Doom’. What really stood out to my colleagues and I was the passion of the group leaders (I believe Blake and Jonathan) and one of the owners, Anthony. You could tell they absolutely love their jobs. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and they went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. They’re not just employees, they’re entertainers, guides, and problem solvers all rolled into one. So, if you’re looking for a fun escape room experience or planning a private event, ‘Edge of Escape’ is your go-to place. The team there is passionate about what they do and they truly care about making your experience one for the books. Kudos to the ‘Edge of Escape’ team!"
