⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fair Oaks Farmhouse Restaurant & Farm – A Hidden Five-Star Gem! We visited the Fair Oaks Farmhouse Restaurant and Farm earlier today, and let me just say — we were blown away. We came in thinking it would be a simple little farmhouse dining experience, but what we got was nothing short of five-star elegance. The moment we walked in, we were struck by how beautiful and upscale the setting was — warm, inviting, and unexpectedly refined. The service? Impeccable. Every member of the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of like VIPs. Now the food — five-star quality across the board. Every bite was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The drinks were crafted with just as much care, and the attention to detail made everything feel elevated. And don’t get me started on the homemade ice cream — absolutely the bomb. Smooth, rich, and fresh. The perfect way to end an already amazing dinner. What started as a casual stop turned into one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. If you’re anywhere near northern Indiana, do yourself a favor and make the trip to Fair Oaks Farms. You won’t regret it.
I came here on a whim, just looking for a weekend getaway, but I honestly wasn't expecting much more than a place filled with kids and families. However, it turned out to be a way more interesting experience than I could have possibly imagined. I was able to actually see everything being done, and I learned a lot about the process of farming cows and about sustainability in agriculture. Plus, surprisingly, the food they served was actually really good! The grounds are clean, staff is friendly, and it’s easy to explore on your own. Bonus: great spot for photography. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a unique, low-key day trip outside the city. Also try the grilled cheese!!
We LOVE the food here as well as the adorable shops. Our son moved to Chicago for a job 4 years ago and we stop at Fair Oaks every time we go visit him. We are planning a visit to stay for a couple of nights at their beautiful hotel and do some of their activities but so far we've only been to the restaurant and the shops. The property is so beautiful and relaxing and we love that their buses are powered by Cow Poo!
Disappointed to start however it was pleasant. They are pet friendly. I was unsure about the lack of food until I had a nice conversation with an employee. Apparently they had a fire in Sept. of 2024. So the restaurant is not fully functioning as before. The ice cream is very good. The atmosphere on the porch area was welcoming. Hummingbirds well feed. The food I had was good just wasn't what I wanted for lunch.
This was the halfway point to meet a friend. We are glad we chose Fair Oaks Farms! What an awesome, family oriented place. There was plenty of parking. As a teacher, l appreciated their set up that would delight any child. There were several buildings, including a restaurant and ice cream parlor. They had a couple of stores where you could buy sweatshirts, goodies, tee shirts, jams, apples, candy, cheeses, and gas for your vehicle. They also had private meeting and dining areas. We agreed the food was very good! The whipped potatoes were some of the best l have tasted. The staff we encountered were very helpful and very friendly. We were treated like family. I plan to take the grands for a family day soon. I recommend Fair Oaks Farms to everyone, whether you have children or not. There is something there for all ages. I recommend you give them a visit to see for yourself!
The pig Adventure, Cow Adventure and Birthing Center are great learning experiences. There are many items geared towards kids under 12 years old. E.g. 3D movie, bouncy pad, giant slide. We didn’t have any ice cream since the line was so long. Gas station was busy. Excellent place to stop when driving down I-65.
We went with a homeschool group for a field trip, apple picking. It was a great experience. The bathrooms are clean and the grounds are well kept. Its a very nice place for a great day.
Such a fun family experience! We even got a memebership so we can go again! My kids were exhausted by the end so we will definitely be using it as a roadtrip stop!

We stopped for ice cream, and stayed for the museums. Myself, my husband and 12 year old all had fun and learned something new! We bought tickets and were able to do the museums and play area right away, but we didn't have time for farm tours. We were also lucky enough to see new calves at the birthing barn and witness another being born. Everyone was very informative and friendly in the museums. The ice cream shop was the busiest thing we went into. There were limited flavors, but we each enjoyed our orders. I recommend the butter pecan!
First time visitor. Had brunch in the restaurant, and walked the grounds. The food was good and the grounds were interesting. The tour fees are fairly high. Good place to let the kids play and to see some farm animals. Location is halfway between Chicago and Indianapolis on I65, a very nice day trip.
Orange County FFA members and advisors visit the farm. It was amazing to see the cows and the swine and birthing of the 2 livestock. We enjoyed seeing the pollinating gardening area and trying to name the plants. Some Exhibits focused on soil, crops, and some hands-on interactive information sections at the farm. We ate at the Farmer's Market and it was delicious and the price are reasonable. We also had ice cream and shakes 😋 which came from the dairy cows. It was a great day to spend our first day in Indiana.
I can’t for the life of me understand why they would offer tours of this place, the cows and pigs never get to touch grass they’re just stuck in these cement buildings with slates in the floor and treated like crops constantly being bred. It’s animal slavery I’ve never seen a place more depressed. The least you can do is put in a pasture, this is strictly a factory farm it’s disgusting
Fair oaks is nice and clean and a pleasant place for the whole family to visit. You need to take the cow and pig tours. They treat there animals very humane. Enough fun for two days. The poolin hotel is great.
This is one of the most amazing places I've ever been period. The kids loved it, the adults loved it just as much! There was something for everybody, food shade, drinks, little had plenty to do and so did the big kids too. Five bucks a person....how can you beat that??? You got there at 11:00 and left at 6:00 with 45 sunflowers 120 apples and smiles on our faces. We spent less than 50 bucks on everything... including the fresh ice cream! This will be an annual thing for us for now on!! IfnI could give it more than five stars I would. Also the staff is amazing. Jamie was the best ever!!! Love Love love Fairoaks Farm!!!
Awesome experience. Saw a new calf cpme into this world and some really neat advances in the dairy business.
What a cool place!! My wife & I were on a road trip and stopped to charge up our Tesla and kill time. Little did we know how massive the estate is, and how many activities exist. We immediately started planning a dedicated trip back (there's a hotel onsite) with our future child. I would absolutely recommend a visit, whether it's a stop on a road trip, or the main event!
