Still remember ice fishing and dog sledding a decade after our trip. I remember a lot of snow and super cold temperatures. I also remember the amazing and hard working dogs. Such a magical experience.
This is not a scam, they had to relocate and just had some delay in their communications. That wasn't super professional but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were trying to keep their reservations while navigating a location change. Their current name is Aventures Nord-Bec Stoneham, look them up on Google maps there. We had a blast and it was definitely a bucket list, once-in-a-lifetime experience. My only concern is probably a naive one, that there were many dogs eating their own poop. As a dog owner of a working dog I know they like and need the exercise pulling the sleds, and their breed allows them to be out in the cold, but seeing them chained there outside in what looked like chicken coops as their beds and surrounded by poos 😫... It just didn't look "humane." Again, this might be naive, but I would want better for animals. The workers were very nice, the sledding was a thrill, and the dogs were nice, I'd defiantly recommend dog sledding to a friend!
We enjoyed snowshoeing today. It was very nice. We are coming back for the dog sledding next time that we are in town. It was already sold out for today. If you plan to come maybe think about getting the combo three activities together then you can enjoy the dog sledding, ice fishing and dog sledding. Friendly staff.
I went dog sledding today in December 2023. I wanted a company close to town so that I could take a cab. I didn’t rent a car when visiting Quabec city. The dogs were well taken care of, and the handlers were knowledgeable and friendly. The dogs mostly followed the trail, but they taught us commands for left, right, faster, and stop. We worked with a guide (I can’t recall his name but I think maybe it was Alex? He had long light colored hair) who took the extra time to take photos and tell me about the dogs and the training process. Good customer service and overall great experience. Obviously dogs can be noisy and poop, so it shouldn’t have to be stated that you should like animals to enjoy this activity. I would recommend trying dog sledding with this group!
Very neat place to go fish with the family. Was a hot day so we caught one fish. Owner was nice enough to clean it for us. New administration, lot of upcoming projects upcoming too. Would happily go back.
We went dog sledding mid December. I was beautiful. Lots of snow on the ground. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly. I would recommend any first time dog sledder go here.
Amazing experience !! The staff was awesome and helpful. It was my first time doing dog sledging and was totally worth it. Highly recommended.
0 stars for the “shuttle transfer” that didn’t show up, 5 unanswered calls later and we jumped in a cab and just made it in time for our tour. 3 stars for dog sledding. It was a novel experience, but also very disorganised and somewhat stressful. 5 stars for ice fishing. We caught a whole bucket of fish and paid about $70 for that, plus the fee to rent the rods. Shame there are no bbq facilities there, as tourists staying in a hotel, we had to give away our fish as catch and release isn’t permitted. We got there early and it was empty, later in the day when we left the ice fishing was quite busy.

This place’s atmosphere was so cool. The staff were entertaining with the dancing as music, the food was good (even the pork rinds), and I also liked the sugar shack. Unfortunately I couldn’t get pictures of the maple butter and the shack’s amenities (games and presentation) but they were cool.
This was my most authentic french Canadian experience and I loved every moment of it. The music, songs, food and energy was so nice! You have the chance to meet locals and enjoy very authentic french Canadian cuisine, and music. Collectively you see so many locals, which is a great experience to talk to them and learn more about the Quebec experience. My favorite is The maple pie, as well as the hash browns, they were cooked very well. The maple syrup is freshly harvested and can be tasted on ice, as it becomes solid once it cooks down very fast. There are lots of souvenirs you can purchase at the maple store, which are a bit expensive but cool to check out & browse while your there. I also enjoyed seeing the equipment used to refine the maple syrup. Overall I loved the site, since there is so much fresh air, as the sugar Shack is located right in the middle of the forest.
Must have experience for the family, they definitely have something for everyone. Fairly nice size gift shop with Syrup processing right inside. Dinner is also available if you’d like, we had it as a part of our conference. The dishes were a fair size, served family buffet style. There is also crêpes and syrup for dessert along with a syrup activity.
We took a group of 50 students to Érablière du Lac-Beauport and had an incredible time. The visit was the perfect mix of education and fun. Staff were friendly and well-prepared for a large group, making everything run smoothly from start to finish. We learned all about the maple syrup-making process, from tapping the trees to boiling the sap. The kids were really engaged, and the demonstrations were simple, hands-on, and fun. But the real excitement hit when they got to make tire d’érable—hot maple syrup poured over snow. Watching 50 kids roll their own maple taffy was pure joy. The meal was delicious and very traditional—everything from pea soup to tourtière and pancakes covered in syrup. Even students who don’t usually try new things cleaned their plates. For the adults, the maple beer was a definite bonus—light, flavourful, and a great taste of the region. Overall, the sugar shack had a cozy, authentic vibe that made the whole group feel right at home. It was a cultural experience that felt both festive and meaningful. Highly recommend it for school groups or anyone looking to experience Quebec traditions in a fun and tasty way.
My wife and I (English speaking Americans) had no idea what to expect when making reservations. We thought it was just another restaurant. Instead, we had an unforgettable experience that felt like we were dropped into a giant, French-speaking family dinner full of fun, music, dancing, and great food. The maple snow desert was an excellent way to cap off the meal. As the only two people who didn’t know the language, the staff went the extra mile to make us feel included and a part of the ‘family.’ This will be a core memory for the rest of our lives.
Didn't go for the dinner but the sugar shack was great and the owner was welcoming. He explained the process and gave us a sample to try. Lovely!
My wife and I had an amazing time. The food came out hot and plentiful and they consistently checked in with us to make sure we were taken care of. The demonstration and presentation about the history and process of syrup making was very interesting and filled with information.
Our bus group had a vert enjoyable time. We learned about maple syrup collection and production. The young man who played guitar while we ate was delightful..the best part. The foor was served family style. There was plenty of ham, meat pie, beans, potatoes, bread, little sausage/hot dogs, and eggs. The eggs were good but different. It would be a better lunch than dinner.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Thank you to the staff at Le Relais!! Our granddaughter had a one hour ski lesson and spent the next 2 hours in the slope. Having never skied in her life she came down the hill falling only twice. She loved it!!! Her and her grandfather had a phenomenal day here and we can’t wait to return! Friendly staff and very well organized. You need to book a lesson with at least 48 hours notice. The whole booking process is a bit clunky but thankfully the concierge at Le Chateau Frontenac was able to help us and get us in. Truly appreciative. They have English speaking instructors. They also have an onsite bistro, cafeteria, lockers and bathrooms. Parking is plentiful.
Great place for learning, I got a private lesson with John , he is amazing instructor. I will come back again.
In town for PeeWee Quebec. Facility was about 25 minutes from the city center. Prices were very reasonable. Was able to get an hour lesson for my daughter then ski for the next 4 hours under the lights. Rental equipment well cared for. Lift lines with low wait times. Would go back in the future
Loved learning how to ski there although my parents were not into sports, they took me for lessons and to hang out with my friends.
Small hill, great for beginners, it has a restaurant, place to rent equipment, 2 lifts that are pretty fast, the cheapest place to ski around Québec City.
Great place for learning (or remembering) how to ski. Zero wait time for chairlifts, very friendly and helpful ski patrol, great rentals, good deals on 3 hour lift tickets. Highly recommended!
It's a great place to learn how to sky/snowboard. You can use the beginning track free of charge as long as you have your equipment with you. If you need, you can rent all equipment as well.
Even late in the season all runs open for me and the beginner hill and carpet lift was a great first time experiance for my daughter.

Very peaceful lake, great views!
Pros: The Ice skating is on a frozen lake and obviously it is very beautiful. You have good number of people. And it's for free... Otherwise, the Ice skating surface was all destroyed in the afternoon. There were holes here and there and people were falling because of that. It's possible that I had a bad experience as I went in the evening at 3.30 pm. I hope it would be good in the morning at 10 am when they would prepare the ice platform. In general the ice skating platforms are good for the initial 2 to 3 hours, after that, the platforms need an immediate maintenant. I will try to go in the morning and will share the experience.
Disappointing that the entry fee is $20 per adult for non-residents of Lac Beauport. (We are from Quebec City.) The high cost of entry effectively makes this a private lake.
Spending $20 ($10 for local) on canoe is so much fun!
Nice place for a peaceful walk

Awesome spot for cross country skiing with really nice ski lounge. Had limited time, but next time would want to try fatbike as the trails that wound their way through the woods look really fun. Definitely recommend!
Trail building here is “chefs kiss” I mean they route the trails through beautiful scenic spots and the flow is incredible. Between the two summits you’re sure to have a good time. I think I prefer the maelstrom side, personally. Nothing quite like slab city anywhere else that I know of. And I was on an ebike so the climbs were actually enjoyable. Already planning next year trip
This is our second time staying on this mountain and enjoying the trails, such a great time and everyone is so kind, trails are well kept, well marked and exciting!
Amazing place to go mountain biking, they now have trails for everyone to try depending on your skill level. A must try is the « Ralph ». It’s an easy trail but once your done the easy climb it’s fast and flowy rolling down with lots of burns. Super fun! The « Maelstrom » is another fun fast descending trail but more for intermediate skilled riders but also super fun! The brand new cabin now hosts a restaurant & outdoor patio for food and beers. There’s also a souvenir shop and a pro-shop to have your bike fixed up and buy gear. Amazing 🤩
Absolutely LOVED my time at these trails on my trip to Quebec this October. I loved the variety of trails and features. The slab trails are incredible! Worth the fee.
I have ridden my bike at many places around North America and would put SDM up there with any of them. The trail network is fantastic, the staff were great, food was delicious, and after ride beer on the patio was perfect.
What a beautiful place and after several days of rain the trails were I. Great shape. Hint … bring your climbing legs 😰 or rent an e bike. I just rode the Maelstrom section. Took the main climbing trail to Slab City then climbed Kondike to Haute Maelstrom to Maelstrom and back to the chalet for an awesome burger!!
What a beautiful experience. I got a gift 🎁 certificate from my daughter for Christmas and together with my little granddaughter and my daughter we went snowshoeing. It was one amazingly wintery day. Weather was perfect and even the trails were so pretty. Totally recommend for the whole family if you enjoy outdoors.

(Translated by Google) Very nice ski center, especially for families. The height difference is not steep and the descents are short. However, the snow conditions are still very good (they work the slopes twice a day) Small center which is growing more and more. The measures were taken following the increase in popularity (and customer base): 6-seater chair. The atmosphere is always great: music, activities, competition, etc. Staff always smiling and welcoming. The cafeteria food is good, but relatively expensive (like the vast majority of ski centers.) I highly recommend for a ski center only 20 minutes from town!
