A beautifully restored venue in the town of Petrolia, ON. We have yet to sit in an area with poor sightlines, and the acoustics are excellent as well. It's licensed and offers an outdoor patio area, as well as indoor lounge area to enjoy your beverages. Come early to enjoy the charm of the town!
Went to see a show (dirty laundry) it was fun. Charming. Romantic. Had a mix of drama and a great message to learn and use in real life relationships. Highly recommend. No bad seat in this place. Relaxing and wonderful with drink service available and bathrooms.
I would give 10 stars at least!! Loved my first experience in Petrolia and at this gorgeous theatre attending the opening show of Sweet Soul Music on July 6th. Oh my goodness! Another amazing, soul uplifting and magical creation by the uber-talented Mark Payne whom I had first seen at The Crooner in St Jacob Village in 2023 and which I LOVED! Do attend this "hit parade" of toe tapping and singing hits from the 60s and more! Justin was brilliant, fun and charismatic as the lead singer and our host; his voice was so versatile and perfect for the different songs sung. I especially loved his singing the Stevie Wonder songs and how he engaged with the audience. His girls/ladies, Maddy, Imaari and Olivia were gorgeous, talented, as a trio and individually. I loved the fact that they were each spotlighted with their own songs which had been perfectly selected for their voices. Olivia's VPP debut was super sweet and memorable; I could see and feel her gratitude from being on stage from where I sat and I was super excited and proud of her! I look forward to seeing where she and the rest of the artists will go next! The Starbright band was super talented and such a joy to see and hear. Loved seeing Mark sing and have so much fun with everyone. The atmosphere in the theatre was fun, positive and the energy was super high! Thank you to David Hogan for the brilliant direction and choreography. I sat in the first row of the balcony and it was fine for me but if you are tall or are afraid of heights, that row would not be right for you. Staff at the theatre was friendly and the butter tart I tried at intermission was delicious! Do go see this Fun and Fabulous show before it is gone....You will have the Best time, guaranteed! Thank you to Marlon for speaking with me after the show - another fan girl and arts lover magical moment for me! ❤️🎉
I have have been coming to the Victoria Playhouse since 2000 and during the last 10 years I have been coming with 14 to 16 friends and every year more friends want to come because the musicals are absolutely tremendous, fun, visually attractive and the voices are equally great. I credit David for producing such amazing productions. We thoroughly enjoyed Rockin' the 50's and we are coming again to see the Abba musical. Keep up the great work and I would love to see Million Dollar Quartet next year. Worth every mile of the drive from the Detroit area. Thanks for the enjoyment.
First time there. Quaint old house. Sound system very good. Could here the play clearly. Had seat in the balcony. Only problem was that the washrooms were in the basement. They are trying to raise money for an elevator and washroom on the upper floor. It is also wheel chair accessable. Will return with my sister next time.
Show was fantastic. Seats were great . All the helpers were. Very kind. This was are first time and we enjoyed the hits of the 50s. Thanks for a great performance. Also are at the cottage great meal
Sweet Soul Music, is a unique, endless enjyment of familiar tunes from our, or even our parents childhood. And we, all.of the audience, knew them irrespevtive where of zhis global Earth sphere we were coming from. Kudos to the amazing performances of Justin and his singing Ladies: Madeleine, Olivia, and Imaari. What to tell you about the incredible Mark Payne with his Orchestra? You have to see it and it would resonate forever in your memory! Great show!
Great show (Dirty Laundry). The host warms up the crowd with a few prizes for people celebrating anniversaries or from some place relevant to the show. Theatre is quaint making a pleasant experience.

Lots of woodland areas for hiking. Pathway floorings of evergreen tree needles, leaves, and some wet muddy areas on certain routes. It includes trails thru the forest, and in the open, and along with views of large bodies of water. The one trail was washed out the day I was there. There are tiles to walk across but the rushing water flow made it unsafe so we made a detour. There are some wooden platforms erected where the trails are too wet in crossing. During the regular season, my understanding is that you have to have a parking pass. It was a fun day exploring all the trails in this conservation area.
Beautiful area. Trails are well groomed. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Very pretty park and friendly management/staff
A great walk on a warm sunny day. Trails are nicely maintained.
Nice, long trail network but it's poorly marked with no blazes or obvious trailhead. Unexpectedly large campground for a place with only a small swimming pool and playground. Rustic mini golf in a treed area is cute. Hundreds of birdhouses throughout the park create a sense of whimsy. Very lightly used during our visit on an autumn day.
Love the park, however, as seasonal residents here if we want a nights sleep on the weekend we have to go to a hotel. Other residents here are allowed to party very loudly, with shouting, music and very bad language, until daylight if they wish. This needs to be addressed by the overseers of the park, they cannot expect the tenants to approach a group of drunken campers at 3:00 am to rebuke them and expect they will not be set upon. This situation is way out of hand.
Awesome trails. Bit muddy in some sections but doable. Nice campground too. Will have to try camping g when it's open.
I LOVE this place and recommend this campground it's just that rules are getting a little stupid for seasonal BUT not weekenders 👍

Petrolia is a nice quiet little town that offers picturesque sceneries. Beautiful to walk through. Stop in for lunch at one of the cute little cafes or take in a play at the Victoria playhouse. We always enjoy walking through the discovery or popping into the local library
Take a walk back in time at Petrolia Discovery! Tour buildings from an old Victorian oil town, incredibly detailed and restored, including a one room schoolhouse, a Church, blacksmith shop, mill and more. Plus a tour of the history of oil extraction. Very cool. The property is beautiful. One of my kids favourite places. It is truly a gem!
We had a wonderful day today at the Petrolia Discovery. We took a guided tour, and it was so amazing that the guide is a humble person and narrates each and everything. I'm strongly recommend this site.
So glad I found this place. Everyone was welcoming and the tour was interesting and amazing. Russell, our tour guide was Great. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Would definitely go ahead
I visited this place on July 4, 2025. I had a great time, tour guide Russell showed me around. I recommend everyone should go there
Love the new additions and renovations down at the flats on the south side of the road.
Walking trails get better every year, and historical buildings are very interesting. Run into wildlife *mostly deer and a few coyotes, owls, and Hawks.
It's a great place for a nice and peaceful walk.

Where have I been hiding?!?!? My friend gave me a box of Guild’s salted caramel chocolates… OMG!!!! These chocolates are a 12/10 and each one is like a little piece of art that you can feel the love that’s put in to each of these chocolates!!! If you are having the best day or are needing a little pick me up of joy… go to Guild Chocolates!!!
Best chocolate I have ever had! Open most Saturdays Fall through the end of Spring, check their Facebook page for the latest updates before you plan your visit.
BEST chocolate ever!! The owner is lovely and happy to share her love of chocolate. Everything is made from scratch. The awards won are so impressive!!
Beautiful little place with something for everyone! I asked if they had vegan items and the staff member was so helpful showing me their numerous options, including chocolates, nuts, and fruit jellies. I only wish that they were open more than once a week!
The hot chocolate was like drinking a chocolate bar... so rich! so yummy! I also purchased some small chocolates for Easter treats, haven't tried them yet... but they look so good, I can hardly wait to try them.
Going to Guild chocolates is a treat indeed. The attention to detail and respect for the art of chocolate creations is superb. Time spent with Chef Jaclyn will inspire you to learn more, sample more and purchase more! Her enthusiasm and passion for her craft is contagious in the very best sense of the word. Enjoy the talents of this remarkable young pastry chef. Your taste buds will thank you.
My husband and I heard about this fantastic little place from a gentleman he works with the owners brother!! Great place with amazing service and selection of not only chocolate but teas as well.. very clean and organized. Definitely worth the trip to petrolia for a chocolate lover.
Just had an assortment of bonbons with a glass of red wine. It was Fantastic! I honestly can’t choose a favorite. Guild’s Chocolate is a great location to treat yourself to world class chocolates!

Absolutely LOVE this retail space! Thank you to Karen for being so informative and helpful! We had a wonderful walk 'round this store and truly enjoyed the experience. So many great gift ideas for loved ones and myself! It's a relaxing shopping environment with high quality offerings! And the tea, that is one amazing collection! This needs to be your #1 stop if you love trying new and exciting tea flavours. My English Mum was super impressed;) There is a wonderful coffee shop right next door that Karen was happy to tell us about and promote the chocolate shop and new bakery nearby too! Thanks in advance for shopping local when in the area. See you again soon Mercantile!
This place is awesome. I accidentally found this place while wandering the streets at 3am after turning back into my human form. They were closed, but their window display intrigued me. So, upon their open hours, I embarked upon a quest. To experience the splendor of this shop. They have collectibles, they have knick knacks, they have patty whacks, and dog bones. They have tea, they have coffee, they have delicious chocolates embedded with salt of sea. And the owner, Karen? She's a doll. Literally. She's a mechanical life like automoton.. BRILLIANT! I wanted so much to explore more but I was starting to turn back into my lizard form.
Adorable store. Got the s'mores coffee as a gift and i will be going back for more!
What a unique and exciting visit. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. The lady who helped us was incredibly down to earth and friendly and was an walking encyclopedia of the store. We found some absolutely lovely tea's and are really looking forward to coming back and trying some more. Really like the loyalty program where you buy 10 tea's and get one free. Awesome idea, great way to reward customers and keep them coming. Loved all of the different gifts in there - I know where I am coming to do some Christmas shopping. Really happy with the items we purchased. We will be coming back.
This beautiful tea/coffee/novelty shop is a highlight for me. I encourage you to inquire as to why the amazing owner sells the teas and coffees she does. It's impressive and if you care about what you are consuming you will. If I could give more than 5 stars I would 😁
The best place to go for that unique item you can't find anywhere else for that someone who has everything......For me we are blessed to have this store in our town. Karen is one of the most lovely people you can meet and will go out of her way to please. I love just to walk in and hear the sound of the creaking wooden floors under my feet and the wonderful scents and aromas as enter....it's like a walking meditation going through this store. You won't be disappointed, believe me....💞💞💞
Beautiful store only outmatched by the beautiful woman who owns it! Always accommodating, kind, genuine and a fantastic conversationalist. The Mercantile and Tea is everything anyone could ever hope for in a charming town like Petrolia. It's an absolute gem, filled with unique and fashionable items, handpicked by the owner's impeccable taste and sense of style. During this awful pandemic, her doors were always 'open' to those in need of anything in particular - offering to hand pick items for customers when many shops were simply closed completely. Reviews stating anything to the contrary, should simply be ignored as they're clearly just having a bad day. I've been a customer for years and I will continue to be for many years to come! Always a top notch experience!
Beautiful store, lady who owns it is fabulous. I love shopping there. Christmas presents were a hit this year. I ship their coffee to BC every year to my daughter. they always look so forward to it!

I was a guest at a company held function at the clubhouse late November/December and the service was top notched. The food was amazing, staff were accommodating from servers to bartenders. Sadly I cannot remember the club manager’s name but he was customer and client focused. I would recommend this place for any of your business function needs as they have lots to offer.
It’s a decent course in decent shape. We had to golf the back nine twice because the front nine was recovering from a rainstorm. But for a course that we have never played that actually worked out OK. My back nine of the back nine was better than the first back nine if that makes sense.
We had our small wedding there May 25/25 and they did a fabulous job. The day was perfect.
I recently hosted a baby shower at Kingswell Glen. The room was gorgeous and the food was delicious. The perfect place to celebrate our mom to be. 10/10 recommended!
Ridiculously overpriced for a very mediocre course. Course this year has been in terrible condition and still charging full rate.
Course has gone extremely downhill since GolfNorth took it over. Teeboxes are essentially unplayable on the majority of holes. Greens are hard as a rock, fairways are lacking grass especially on the front 9. Rain definitely takes its toll on this course but to be charging $70 for 18 with a cart on a weekend is criminal.
This golf course and its facilities are top class. Pride of ownership is evident here. The efforts to continuously improve the grounds from the clubhouse to the greens are notable. My first visit what impressed me most was the greens, which looked and played really nice. I also enjoyed the shot selection required and the challenge/layout of the course. The indoor facilities are the icing on the cake to what is an impressive area and fun golf club. I will be golfing at KG this summer for sure cheers.
I’m reading these good reviews and it makes we wonder if they have ever played a nice course to compare it to. This course is really bad greens have huge bare spots and ant hills all over them places in the fairways have undergone major digging with no repairs made. In some holes there is no definable fairway just in-cut grass and weeds. But worst issue was course management. We waited on every hole because of the group of six players ahead as well as a group of five walking. No etiquette to let us play through . Never saw a ranger so we called the club house to enquire but no one came out. Just not worth your money to play here with better options in the area.
