What a beautiful place. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Their joy was infectious and my daughter and I really had such a great time that we want to return and bring others! Keep up the great work!

Beautiful day to spend here. My wife and kids had never been before. So many memories were made by them. The people working were friendly, courteous and very helping work information about the buildings and history. Loved being there.
Joe T — Google review
We started building an HO scale railroad layout and thought it might be a good idea to do some research on railroads and older buildings. So off we went to Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Genesee County. We purchased our tickets in advance on line. Before entering we walked by 2 beautiful gardens. One was a Monarch way station and the other was by Michigan State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program. The day we went was the 43rd Annual Railfans weekend. What a fun place to visit 😃. All of the people working there were very friendly and helpful. We walked around and looked inside many of the buildings and were able to obtain lots of information for the model train layout. We also did a scavenger hunt and a little village tour. There were model railroad layout presented by several model railroad clubs. If you get an opportunity to visit, do it! We plan on going back and spending more time in the village and will definitely be taking another train ride on Engine #152.

Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad is a great place to visit as a family! They always have cool Halloween attractions and they also have stuff during Christmas as well. Seeing, hearing, and being able to ride on an old school steam locomotive is a real treat as well!
Tengoindiamike — Google review
I had a lot of fun here at Crossroads. It was cool and interesting to see all the different shops and exhibits scattered around the place. I espicaly enjoyed the school and the sawmill so I would definitely advise going there. In general, I found it really cool to explore some of the methods of doing things in the past that are just completely different nowadays.
Elliot M — Google review
The town is cute, but let’s be honest, we came for the train ride. We arrived over an hour early to get the caboose for the kids and were told the limit was 10 to 11 people. We even split our group so they could have that magical experience. But the conductor added 12 extra people, cramming the caboose so full that kids were sitting on the floor and standing while the train was moving. It didn’t feel safe, and it definitely wasn’t special anymore. The magic, the joy, and the excitement we came for were completely taken away. Our kids were heartbroken while the conductor focused only on the people he added. What’s the point of giving out caboose passes if they don’t mean anything? The magic was gone the moment that train left the station.
Jackie G — Google review
Beautiful place. If you live history this is the place. Every single place inside has a lot of tell you, you will find a host waiting in each one and in a very kind way, They will give you a lot of details of everything there, the older that is the person the better that si the story and kindness. My favorites places were the barber shop, the school, lumber, doctor’s office … anyways you need to see by yourself everything there. People extremely kind.
Nadia D — Google review
The Halloween event was great! Only thing disappointing is the train was sold out. They said they only run roughly three trains a day. Other than this it was great.

If you're looking for a captivating experience that combines science and wonder, Longway Planetarium is the perfect destination. Nestled in Flint, Michigan, this impressive facility boasts a 60-foot dome where visitors can immerse themselves in astronomy demonstrations, engaging classes, and thrilling laser rock shows. Whether you’re curious about the cosmos or simply want to enjoy an evening under the stars with someone special, Longway Planetarium offers something for everyone.
This is a fantastic activity for astronomy enthusiasts. Tickets are reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The shows are educational and fun for all ages. The gift shop has something for everyone. I spent a great afternoon here and highly anticipate my next visit.
Nicole P — Google review
Family favorite! Longway has everything a space cadet could want it's the perfect way to start or end a day enjoying what flint has to offer. Genesee country residents pay like 3$ a show and they have laser shows for kids and adults some educational and others just fun. Get there early and find all the hidden objects the painter put into his mural or check out the activity room where you can do crafts with the Lil aliens before or after the show or just look at the overpriced space toys your space ball kids are shur to want. And don't forget the astronaut ice cream SpaceLord and you will be out of this world....
Randy K — Google review
Chaperoned my sons 2nd grade class here, and we had a blast! This building is separate from the Sloan museum but in the same complex. I enjoyed the learning aspect of it. The dome was amazing, and so cool! The instructors did a great job and really kept everyone's attention with their knowledge.
Donna J — Google review
We went for the special Ooky Spooky light show and we loved it! In the big dome screen full of lights and Halloween music it was rly nice! Absolutely different and a great idea for a family visit. Gennesse county residents have discounts! They have lots of cool souvenirs like small robots, cool T’s, stones, etc a whooooole thing! I wish it could be bigger but still pretty cool!
MaryB M — Google review
My mother and I were genuinely excited to attend the "Skies Over Michigan" show at the planetarium on Sunday, August 3rd at 3:00 PM. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and not at all what was advertised. We were two of approximately 15 attendees, and had we known the 30-minute presentation would be focused almost entirely on Mythology—with little to no relevance to Michigan’s night sky—we would not have attended. The presenter began by saying, “You’re in for a treat, I’m studying Mythology,” which immediately signaled a shift away from what we expected. She briefly pointed out the moon and mentioned a few stars—two of which she admitted she didn’t know the names of—before diving into an extended discussion on constellations like Hercules and concepts like Zenith. These might be interesting in another context, but they had little to do with what was promoted as a “Skies Over Michigan” experience. What we received was not a guided tour of Michigan's sky or a localized astronomy show, but instead a Mythology lecture, which felt misaligned and frankly misleading. I paid $20 for my mother and me to attend something that sounded regionally specific and educational about the Michigan sky—not a Mythology enthusiast’s personal presentation. As we were exiting, I asked what time will the Sky's over Michigan show starts and the staff said that what we just experienced, was the Sky's over Michigan. I responded with, that was not a Michigan sky experience but a Mythology lecture. The staff said, "it is up to the presenter discretion is what's included in the lecture." I let her know that perhaps the title should be changed due to misleading information and I was offered 2 free passes for a future visit, which I declined as we are hesitant on returning. So unfortunate 😞

This is seriously one of my favorite places. I visit regularly. I really like the skies over Michigan show, and it always changes to stay up to date on the stars. ⭐️💫

I went on December 5th, 2023. It was the night of the Tree lighting ceremony. My family and I went to a free Christmas show at the Longway Planetarium that night and the 5:30 pm showing that they had special for that night. It was a wonderful light show choreographed to music. It was absolutely amazing. I would go again and again. They had a gift shop there that was great. My Aunt bought some Petoskey stones there. We all had a wonderful family time.
Kristina M — Google review
I love the Longway Planetarium!! The Ooky Spooky show is my favorite, and I look forward to it every fall! We have seen other shows here too, and they are always great, and informational. The shop is very cute and has a variety of items you can buy. Everyone is always nice, and the Planetarium is always clean.

Flint Institute of Arts Museum + Art School

Museums
The Flint Institute of Arts is a stunning museum that houses an extensive and diverse collection of European and American art dating back to the 15th century. Visitors can enjoy learning about different cultures while admiring ancient art from around the world. The glass gallery, in particular, is a highlight with glassblowing demonstrations available to watch.
My first visit to the Flint Institute of Arts Museum was a fantastic experience. The highlight for me was the documentary on Martin Luther King Jr. and the FBI—it was incredibly informative and thought-provoking. The event was even more enjoyable with live music and a delicious dinner, making for a well-rounded and engaging evening. The atmosphere was great, and I had a lot of fun. I’ll definitely be attending again!
Mia — Google review
It's wonderful. The glass blowing demonstration is educational and fun! Many great items and not many people, which makes a great place to enjoy arts.
C. W — Google review
I was there today and had a very good time. The staff were pleasant. The artwork was magnificent. The food was good. I expect to go back many times, because there is more for me to see.
Bill A — Google review
This museum is located on the quiet and beautiful street of museum campus. Very approachable museum with great art collections. Love the nice staff there.
Ethan X — Google review
This is a surprising gem to find in the city of Flint. The FIA is truly an amazing oasis filled with stellar exhibits. The entrance fee is quite reasonable. If this museum were bigger its only local rival would be the Detroit Institute of Art. The one thing this place has that Detroit does not is an adjacent section dedicated to blowing glass. I think its worth the drive from the Detroit area to visit and I believe this is the areas newest modern museum.
Harold P — Google review
A gem of an art museum! For a small town, this is an incredible art museum. The variety of exhibits the day we visited, the incredible quality of various sculptures dispersed throughout the building, and even a life glass making demonstration made for a very memorable visit. The standard that this art museum presented was a very pleasant surprise! Definitely worth your visit if you’re around the area and looking for an enriching experience!
Arin S — Google review
We went to see the “Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration” exhibit, which was great and fun for the whole family. We didn’t know that they had an ongoing glass blowing presentation by the UM-Flint students, so we were all delighted to sit through their expressive performance. Had a wonderful afternoon. Will come back again.
Wei W — Google review
Such a nice museum, loved the exhibits which are very inspiring and intricately put together. Visited on a weekend and the entry was free. Moreover they have art school and different programs for engagement of the visitors. The gift shop had very cute things to shop for. The highlight would be their glass exhibit with exceptional masterpieces!

Sloan Museum of Discovery

Children's museum
Sloan Museum of Discovery in Flint, Michigan is a classic auto gallery that showcases cars built in the area and offers insights into regional history and hands-on science exhibits. The museum delves into Michigan's industrial heritage, highlighting innovators who have made significant contributions across various fields over time, including car manufacturing facilities and photography. With a collection of 400,000 artifacts from Flint and Genesee County history, Sloan Museum provides an engaging learning experience for both children and adults.
We had a lovely family day out visiting the museum and the attached planetarium. The museum is very clean, well maintained, has lots of bathrooms and a cafe on site. There is also plenty of free parking, handicap accessible entrances everywhere. The museum itself is free if you live in Genesee county and only a few dollars. If not. The planetarium was only $4 per ticket for residents of Genesee county and $8 for non-residents. So overall we were able to spend the day here without breaking the bank. They had something for adults and children here. I really enjoyed the history section of the museum with the cars and the information on Flint's history. We also spent quite a lot of time in the kids sections where they had lots of hands-on exhibits and a huge play area.
Oliver W — Google review
This museum has it all! Science, history, playground, playroom, kids lab, events, coffee shop. Plenty of parking lots. I had a great time here. My favorite part was the "Durrant Gallery' with all the concept cars collection. It blew my mind.
Cynthia — Google review
Had a really good time at this museum, which is basically divided into two halves: the history museum (which covers Flint and the surrounding area) and a science discovery center. We spent most of our time in the history side. It provides a very comprehensive overview of the history of Flint, starting in the pre-settlement era. It covers the rise of the auto industry and Flint's more recent struggles and rebirth. It's a great visit if you want to learn more about the history of the era. The other half of the museum is dedicated to science education and is more oriented towards young kids and families. Overall it is definitely worth a visit.
J. E — Google review
This is a nice museum. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This museum has an exhibit about basic scientific concepts for children, such as how air pressure effects the movement of objects, aerodynamics, and energy. It also has exhibits about the history of Flint and an automotive gallery with cars produced in Flint, both of which I saw. The Flint history exhibit had several interesting facts about the history of the city, an informative explanation of the history of Native Americans in Genesee County, and a good explanation of the history of automotive manufacturing in Flint and why Flint became such a large hub for that industry. This exhibit also had the last Buick LeSabre produced at the Buick City Car Factory. The automotive gallery has the world’s second oldest surviving Chevrolet, the Pontiac Phantom concept car, a concept car from the 1950s with a backup camera, and several others. It also has an assembly line in which you can assemble car parts. In addition to that, there’s a pedestal that displays a different GM concept car every year. After looking at these cars I left, satisfied either my experience. I gave this museum five stars because it has an interesting and informative exhibit about the history of Flint and a small albeit excellent automotive gallery with concept cars that can be seen nowhere else.

This is a really nice hands-on children's museum. There's a lot to do and the exhibits are fun and very kid friendly. This museum is also very handicap accessible.
Brittany J — Google review
We had a good day with the kids! We learned a lot of Michigan’s history. The superhero exhibit was really nice! I recommend it!
Sylvain G — Google review
Had my son's 3rd birthday party at the Sloan Museum. It was perfect! The package was very generous and included a lot. The staff was amazingly helpful! The pizza was delicious. Everyone that came enjoyed the museum and my son had a BLAST! He did not want to leave. We will be back for another visit soon!
Beth S — Google review
My son had a great time. there's a little something for all ages. He really loved the water area, but make sure your kid is wearing non-slip shoes because no matter how much they try to keep the water from being on the floor it's slippery if not wearing decent shoes. We will definitely be back! It will be nice to bring the kinds to do something fun indoors during winter and on top of that, it's free for Genesee County residents.

Super cute and lots for kids to do! They had a free special craft for parents and kids to do during our visit, which was entirely unexpected but a great experience! The staff are all super friendly and helpful and so good with the kids! We can't wait for our next visit! 💚 My only complaint (for lack of a better term) was that it was pretty warm inside of the building, but it was also 87/88° outside so it was understandable. I'd just suggest dressing light if you're going on hot days! (:
Clarissa H — Google review
Hands down one of the best children's museums we've ever visited!!! My absolute favorite part id they have a garden outside in their fenced in area that you can snack from!!! So much to do, we spent 5 hours there. We would have stayed longer but we got hungry, they do offer snacks too. Very friendly staff as well
Cordie B — Google review
Friendly and clean place to bring your kids. They have alot of interactive rooms and everything was kept tidy. The outdoor area was also a great addition.
Daisy S — Google review
So many fun areas for kids to free play and explore. Vet, Pizza Parlor, Grocery Store, Theater, Fire Truck, Stage Coach. Kids can color a farm animal, place on scanner and there it comes sauntering out of the barn in animated form. Sensory sand area and so many other hands on fun interactive areas. Cool little wind tube with scarves. Reading area. It's nice to get a membership so you can visit often. Sometimes they have free crafts. Last time we got to taste apples and vote for your favorite, plus paint an apple with magnetic balls. So creative. Take a jacket, they keep it cool since kids are usually active.
Beth M — Google review
Such a fun time spent learning and playing at Flint's Children's Museum. There were so many activities there to keep the kids entertained for several hours. Everything was very well maintained and the place was very clean. The staff was helpful and courteous.

Located in the heart of downtown Flint, the Flint Farmers' Market has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. With over fifty local vendors offering a diverse range of goods including arts and crafts, baked goods, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, meat and seafood, herbs and spices, beer and wine, flowers and plants. The market is also a popular venue for community events such as yoga sessions, festivals, concerts and entertainment.
Fresh food, local art, and small business love. Each stall is unique, the food has heart, and everything is so affordable! A festival of Flint but indoors.

Went to Sweet Peaces for some vegan eats. Had the lentil soup and the vegan snickers! They were both amazing! The woman who helped us - great customer service! The rest of the Market was busy, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Many of the kiosk-keepers made eye contact and greeted us as we passed by. A very welcoming experience for us 'out-of-towners'.

I didn't know this was called the Farmers Market, we were on the part called "The Bricks". It is so nice to see downtown revitalized and thriving. We had fun!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here. Venue and staff are amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an event space with endless possibilities for implementing your own style in your event. The park across the street, as well as the street itself, make perfect places for event photography. Thanks to Janelle, Helen and Karen for making our wedding process magical

This farmers market was a definite highlight of our visit to Flint. There was a large variety of vendors and food, and produce that I have never seen before. The sandwich made of Arepas was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back there if I’m in the area. The only downside of it is that it is open so few days a week!

The Stepping Stone Falls is a picturesque recreational area located in Flint, Michigan. It features numerous hiking trails, picnic sites, and a dam with an accessible lake stocked with fish. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful industrial waterfall next to the serene lake while strolling along wide and paved walking paths. The park also offers playgrounds for kids and photo shoot locations for families. Additionally, visitors are advised to bring some bread or cereal to feed the carp that pool up at both sides of the dam/falls.
This place is a haven of peace and tranquility. The surrounding natural beauty is breathtaking, with views that look like something out of a painting. The green areas are lush and perfect for hiking or simply sitting and enjoying the surroundings. The picnic area is ideal for sharing a day with loved ones, and the nearby swimming area is a perfect addition to cool off and enjoy the sun. The tranquility and serenity of the place make it an ideal destination for those looking to escape the stress and daily routine and connect with nature. It is undoubtedly a place worth visiting and enjoying.

Beautiful views!! The dam is gorgeous and abundant with wildlife. Ducks, seagulls, geese, and more all cohabitat this section of the lake. The lower side of damn was rich with fish visible from the surface. Almost all trails are wide and smooth enough for standard wheelchair access. However, the dam itself is a series of steps to different outlooks. But there are many accessible veiw points across the falls. Well spread seating across the trails for those who need to take breaks often. Adorable old fashioned water pump for clean water next to the swimming area.

A Wonderful Urban Oasis - Fun for the Whole Family! What a fantastic find! This park is a true gem, centered around a unique and powerful dam with beautiful cascading waterfalls. The sound of the water is so relaxing, and it makes for some amazing photos. Beyond the falls, there are lovely walking trails and two scenic bridges that offer incredible views. Offers picnic areas. The park is full of friendly geese, seagulls, and huge carp in the water just waiting to be fed. We saw people feeding them and they went crazy for it. It was such a fun and interactive experience for everyone. Highly recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable day out! Also bring bread or popcorn to feed the animals.

Absolutely lovely place . For a being a place in Genesee County it felt really safe and clean. Seems like it had a good accessible walk way. The falls were more than what we expected. There are stairs to all up and down to see the falls at different levels . The only downfall was we couldn’t find a map to tell us where we were at and how long the walk is .

For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum is a well-maintained 383-acre nature reserve that has been in existence since 1970. It boasts of a visitor center, various woody specimens, trails, and a treehouse. The preserve provides an opportunity for bird watching, deer spotting, frog and dragonfly viewing as well as enjoying the beauty of the flowers and trees all year round. Visitors can also witness starlit lightning bug shows at night while taking romantic walks with family or friends.
Can't believe I haven't reviewed For-Mar before! This is one of my favorite places! My husband and I had our first date here, and our engagement photos done here, too! Always animals to see and hear, the visitor center is great, the staff are so nice, it's a real gem!

Enjoyed hiking the trails with my family of 7. Never crowded. The most beautiful park. So many great trails. Wonderful nature center and gardens. Turkeys and deer are plentiful!
Jessica B — Google review
Awesome and completely FREE park. Great place with lots of activities for kids in the welcome center. You can check out backpacks that have activities to do during your nature walk. Beautiful butterfly house with lots of different kinds of butterflies. There is also a vegetable garden as well. The tree house was not open the day that we went but we still walked up the stairs and ramps and checked it out. Lots of different trails to walk and they are all marked and numbered so you can easily follow the map. We had a fantastic time and there was so much more we could have done but didn't have time so we will definitely be back again!
Ashley H — Google review
Staff was kind & helpful. Park is always very clean. Tons of stuff to keep little ones occupied, and lots of hiking trails and things to explore for the older ones. You will learn a lot about nature! There are binoculars and special outdoors backpacks you can rent out for special adventures. Lots of cool taxidermy and also live reptiles/amphibians/insects/fish. In the late spring and early summer, all the flowers are bloomed and leaves on the trees, there is wildlife EVERYWHERE... it's beautiful and amazing. The big tree house and "creaky shaking bridge" are always a hit with the kids. They do tours and events if you watch their social media you can find some cool stuff to do all summer long! My kids and friends and family all adore this place. We always make it a point to leave it cleaner than we found it. I tell each child they are a "nature helper" and I have them pick up any trash we find along the way. There are trash cans and porta-potties for use. A butterfly garden, vegetable garden, and greenhouse. I HIGHLY recommend this preserve/nature center, if you are interested in spending the day outdoors. It's especially helpful on moms who need to wear their little ones out a bit 😅 I also recommend hiking boots or sturdy sneakers. Be ready to walk, pack a snack and some water, pull a wagon if you need to. And stop at the gift shop on the way out!!

A beautiful place, very friendly staff. It’s a great weekend exploration spot, with a beautiful garden, house and just to walk around.

I really enjoyed learning about the Mott family and touring their estate. Everything was free and guides were helpful. The grounds were beautifully kept and it brought me back in time to a different era. My only disappointment was not enough signs showing the names of all the trees, plants and vegetation.

Such a beautiful house, and property. We went to the Harvest Festival, and really enjoyed it. We plan on going back tomorrow hopefully, to do the house tour. The applesauce, cider, and donuts were good today, thank you! We had a good time walking around today, and I definitely recommend checking this place out!

The renovated Gloria Coles Flint Public Library is impressive, having transitioned from a card system to a computerized setup. Book searches have become significantly easier in this well-organized establishment. Notably, the library features a dedicated children's area at the front with supervised computers. Additionally, there is an upstairs computer room available for use. This revamped library stands out as an elegant and modern building adorned with mid-century design elements, making it an ideal venue for various community meetings and organizations.
The Library is very modern with 2 or 3 floors filled with books computers and conferences rooms. The staff is very nice and friendly. A very positive and lovely place. They also have rooms that can be rented out for ur class or field trip

This library is the perfect place; whether you’re a parents looking to take your child, a college student looking for a quiet place to study/read/work on a paper, or just a somebody looking for a quiet place to relax. The layout is pleasing and it’s always clean. The staff is so friendly and helpful.

This is the old Flint Public Library. I haven't been at this location in many, many years. Therefore, I'm unaware when it was remodeled and the name was changed over to Gloria Coles Flint Public Library, nor have a researched this information as of yet, but the changes that has been done, are extremely extravagant. A garden have been added outside, the old outside drop off box location, for the library items returns, has been moved to a different outside location, the entire library has been rearranged, from the outside, to the inside, and it is extremely lovely. Awesome Job (sorry, no pics or videos taken😣🤦🏼)👏🏼📚📖🙌🏼💗📚🤗📚💗🙌🏼📖📚👏🏼‼️

Nice library well laid out. Easy to get around. Need to tear down Flint Central High School. Enjoy the Hall of Fame Displays.
Daniel A — Google review
This remodeled library is very nice. Last I knew it was still using the card system to look up books. Now it is all computerized. You can search for a book much easier now. They have neatly organized areas of book selections. The children's area is right in the front and has a computer area for kids that is monitored. There is also a different computer room upstairs.
Kiyona — Google review
It's really nice in here allot of choices for all types of books, movies etc. There's a large children's section and on the second floor there's computer access with multiple computers and preferred to use as well
Killer B — Google review
Updated, contemporary public library with plenty of hard and paperback books, audio books, CD’s, reference materials, computers, reading nooks and crannies to get lost in the world of reading. I got a library card today which was relatively easy to secure. The library was laid out succinctly and books were easy to find. The information staff was helpful, but I would have loved a quick tutorial on how to find and check out books and a little more information on what’s available rather than happily stumbling upon it. By the looks of things, there are rooms you can check out if you’re having a meeting. I couldn’t find the book I was as interested in checking out, but that is okay as I have other books I’m reading. I will definitely make a trip back to this library in the future. The library is quiet, clean and inviting. The library is closed on Mondays.

Absolutely fabulous service and delicious food. I could not recommend it enough! I've been here twice for a work holiday party and the food and atmosphere is amazing. I got the southwest black bean burger both times and absolutely loved it. The mayo that came with my burger was one of the best things I've ever tasted. Their truffle fries are to die for. I also had the lamb chop appetizer and it was a godsend. I tried one of their specialty drinks this year and it was delicious. Definitely will be back!!

Amazing on all levels. Perfect atmosphere quiet enough to talk without issue and beautifully decorated. The food was amazing. The mango chutney with the shrimp app was divine. The pork dinner was tender and flavorful. The Raven is a must have drink. Thank you for a great night with friends.

Bar service extremely slow when literally 15 ppl in the whole place. Server needs to be more attentive & get special orders correct. Sending food back is annoying esp when you ask for it w/o something right out the gate! The live music was awful tonight. Food was good. Pretty restaurant.
Sarah S — Google review
Until last night, I had never had a bad experience with this restaurant. Now, I and everyone at my table has no desire to ever go back. We were promptly seated because we had a reservation for 6:30. We placed our food and drink order at the same time within 10 minutes of being seated since we were attending a concert down the street at 8pm. We received our drinks and salads in a timely fashion. And everything tasted good. Once our server cleared our salad plates, she stopped attending to our table. 30 minutes went by and she walked by our table numerous times, even when we repeatedly looked at her and motioned that we needed something. I finally asked another employee for the manager. I explained to the manager that our server hadn't been to our table in over 30 minutes and that she had ignored our several attempts to get her to attend to our table. I explained that we had a concert at 8 pm and that we needed an eta on our food. Server was sent to the table and I explained the situation and our frustration that she ignored out attempts to get her attend to our table. She claimed she never saw us. Not sure how that's possible since the final time she was attending to the table right next to us and all of us we're waving our hands and saying hey and excuse me to her and she walked right past us. By then, we had been there an hour with no main course. We watched the table next to us get their food and have it cleared even though they were seated after us. Same server as us. The server stated that the kitchen was behind. I explained we had a concert at 8 pm and we to know when we will be getting our food. She said she would check and then left and didn't come back for another 10 minutes. She finally came back to tell us the food is being plated now. Food came out and there was a ton of stem coming off the mushroom risotto. It was too hot to eat and we were out of time. We boxed up most of our food and got our bills and left. Unfortunately, we missed the beginning of the concert. It should not take an hour and a half to receive your main course. Never again.

I’ve been here twice, both for friend’s birthday’s! The shrimp & grits are amazing! If you like lamb chops I highly recommend theirs. The spinach & artichoke dip are good also. They don’t have blended drinks but the raspberry margaritas are really good & strong! The wait for food is not that bad. Attentive & friendly waitresses! Will be back again.

With its eclectic menu, Torch serves up delicious American fare that caters to diverse palates. From mouthwatering steak and gravy fries to a delectable portobello burger adorned with roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella, there's something for everyone here.
This place is so nostalgic. We had a waiter who gave service which mimic the old Neworleans. The level of service was compared to a goodnight kiss. This is the torch of this city a must try.
Carol P — Google review
Went here for lunch, got an Original and Jr Torch burger and a half and half (fries and onion rings). Burgers were good, like homemade burgers, and I would recommend putting more salt on the fries. The beer was great, we got a Founders and a Tandem cider, both were delicious. I would get ready to wait a little bit, as the food is made to order, but the server was pretty chill. The atmosphere was fine but there were a few flies around. However, I would come back here!

Probably the best dive bar in all of Michigan! Hidden in a alley and with a cool view and super amazing vintage bar. You feel like you have travelled back in time. Solid menu options, will cook the burger super rare, cold beer, and varied selection of alcohol. It is well used but clean and sweet vintage bathrooms. Staff is friendly and interactive! Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

What a great bar! Don't be put off by the alley or dark stairway. On entering you'll find a cosy dive bar with friendly people and the best burgers cooked to order and at great prices. Loved the Chimay Belgian beer that is hard to find outside Europe. Chris, the manager was so interesting sharing his brewery knowledge and secrets. We were just passing through Flint but we will make sure to pass that way again. Really great place. Thanks for a wonderful evening! Love the t-shirt!

My son goes to college in Flint... This is my favorite place to go for a burger with him and his GF. Awesome Burgers!!! Dive vibe (which I love). The food is great!...and, the prices are extremely reasonable. Nice selection of beers! As for spirits, there's something for everyone. Didn't look into wine...but, the staff are prompt, attentive, and friendly. This place will always hold a happy place in my heart!

The small alleyway hidden gem hides itself above an alley in Flint. Going during daylight hours is my preference, but the locals seem to have no issues enjoying it afterdark where it is sure to be filled with customers, as it was my first time years ago. Happy to be back, as the burger was fantastic and the staff was great. Its no wonder the Torch is famous in Flint!

The rustic lodge-style space provides a comfortable environment for enjoying live music while savoring wild game, raw fare, USDA choice steaks, fresh seafood, pasta, sandwiches, burgers and more.
Convenient location not far from the expressway. Huge dining area. We were seated immediately. Our server, Kevin, eventually warmed up and was a lotta fun. Refreshing Caesar salad, flavorful twin medallions (I added mushrooms), with tasty cheesy mashed potatoes. I thoroughly enjoyed the 10 oz Red Wood Lager. Leftovers were delicious the next day, too! 😉 I would return.

Great service and atmosphere. The food is amazing here, they even have sushi with actually good ginger and wasabi. Highly recommend their fish bass dish. Their baklava cheese cake is to die for! Update: I do NOT recommend their Delmonico steak, it looks and tastes like a rancid flank steak. Both my friend and I ordered Delmonicos, we both immediately thought the same thing on how bad it tasted. Their $4 bean and ham soup tasted way better than their $50 steak. For being one of their most expensive dishes, it is surprising how bad it was. I only took three bites before I had to give up. Mash potatoes were good.

Group of 12 and all happy! The food was great! I was disappointed in the imitation crab on the Salmon Oscar - still amazing! Great flavors!! Taylor was great!!! She was always available, even taking pictures for the group at the end of our visit. Great ambiance, very homey and the beer was great!!!

Great steaks cooked how you want. Everything is a little bit pricey. The downside is the noise level in the main room. They were kind enough to move us to a small side room where it was much quieter.

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel, and boy, did this place love up to its reputation!! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. I ordered the 6 many chop entrees, and it did not disappoint! If you are in the Flint area and want to try a great restaurant, I would definitely recommend Redwood.

If you're looking for an upscale yet approachable dining experience in Flint, Redwood Steakhouse & Brewery delivers on all fronts. From the moment we walked in, the warm, lodge-inspired décor and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a great night out. Whether you're there for a romantic dinner, a special occasion, or simply a quality meal, Redwood hits the mark. I ordered the Filet Mignon, and it was outstanding—tender, flavorful, and cooked to the perfect medium rare, exactly as requested. The sear on the outside locked in the juices, and each bite practically melted in my mouth. It’s clear that Redwood takes pride in its premium cuts and precise preparation. I paired the filet with a side of risotto, which was creamy, well-seasoned, and perfectly al dente. The combination made for a well-balanced, indulgent meal that exceeded expectations. What really made the experience exceptional was our server, Deborah. She was warm, professional, and attentive without being overbearing. Her timing was perfect, her recommendations were spot on, and she genuinely made sure we felt welcome and cared for throughout the evening. As a bonus, Redwood brews their own beer on-site, and the selection is impressive. Whether you're into hoppy IPAs or smooth stouts, there’s something for every craft beer lover. The entire experience—from the food to the service to the ambiance—was top-tier. Redwood Steakhouse & Brewery is a gem in Flint. With expertly prepared steaks, flavorful sides like risotto, and standout service (especially from Deborah), it's the kind of place you'll want to return to again and again.

Waygu flank steak was smothered in sauce taking away all steak flavor. Ordered no mushrooms and plate covered in them. Sides were good. Service was decent except felt kinda rushed out. Overall atmosphere was really nice. Would come back for other items possibly but not the wagyu flank steak.

After living in Flint for years I finally made my way to Hoffmans last month. It was absolutely phenomenal. I took my husband there today and we both had the Autoworld. The sandwiches are fresh, hot and fast. I’m not sure how I managed to avoid this place for so long but it will become a regular lunch spot for us on the days the farmers market isn’t open. Love this place and downtown Flint food scene.

I ordered the AC wrap. It was delicious and full. Some places skimp on meat and you end up with a wimpy wrap. Not this place! My wrap was bursting with flavor and chicken, lettuce, tomato and cucumber with a delicious ranch sauce. My daughter ordered the Baja wrap. Her's was full and fire- plenty of heat from the jalapenos and the whole thing was heated (literally). The atmosphere was casual and chill. The service staff was kind and helpful. Definitely worth visiting again & trying more of their sandwiches and wraps.

Delicious, excellent quality, sandwiches that are made to order. Big menu, creative menu. Lots of indoor seating and a few tables outside. Great atmosphere We had the Knuckle and the Whiting (took off the pesto ranch and added dill mayo, also added turkey and shredded carrots). Superb!!!! Our order for two sandwiches did take an hour when told 25 minutes but we weren't in a hurry so thst wasn't a huge deal. Expect slower service, but very friendly staff.

I got the “Hurley Med” sandwich (yummy)! It had turkey, bacon, the grilled pinnaple gave it a nice sweet taste but not overpowering. It was done perfect. They gave a lot of meat on sandwich, it was really good! But I had to get a box to finish later The cute man with the long braids was sooo nice and took time to explain the menu and where stuff was. Will come again

Great food, quality service and drinks are good too. Love all of their bourbon options. They make a solid old fashioned. Creperie
Flint Crepe Company is a charming spot known for its creative sweet and savory crepes made from fresh, local ingredients. Originally starting as a food cart in 2008, the company expanded to a downtown brick-and-mortar shop in 2011. The culinary team takes pride in sourcing seasonal ingredients locally and offers options for vegans and those with gluten-free diets.
Awesome hidden gem in Flint. Parking is a bit difficult to get in the area but the food is amazing, and the food preparation is fairly fast with minimal wait. You have to line up to order and then pick up the food from the counter yourself so it isn’t anything fancy but the price is very reasonable and more importantly it tasted great. Went there on a weekday at lunch time and it was busy but there were seats immediately available.
Dawn C — Google review
The customer service that we experienced here was top-notch. Being vegan, we have a hard time finding vegan fare when we are traveling. It's awesome that there are more places out there that are embracing the vegan community. Our food took a little longer than the conventional options because they cleaned and sanitized the griddle to prevent cross-contamination (at our request). It was no way disappointing. The crepes were amazing! It's definitely worth the visit! The first photo is tofu egg, with potatoes, black beans, and a Chipotle aioli. The second is a strawberry crepe with strawberry jelly.

The crepes were delicious. Coffee was solid, too. We asked for an egg-free meal and they accommodated it easily. Their special this month, Blueberry Lemon Poppy Seed, did not disappoint. Can't wait to stop by again.
Kshiti V — Google review
This experience actually blew my mind. The entire ambiance was so calming and chill. I loved the light instrumental music, the set up of the booths, how efficient the process to order is. All water, utensils, napkins, etc are self serve. WHICH I LOVE<3 I hate having to bug people for small things like that so I really appreciated it. My favorite thing about the menu is pretty much anything on it can be made gluten free, which my baby sister due to new health conditions, needs. Going out to eat has been hard with this in mind. I love a little chai drink like anyone and wanted one with my meal. Better than anywhere else I’ve ever had. I had to keep drinking water before our meals came so I wouldn’t suck down the whole drink in a few sips lol. Also I don’t even like coffee, but I tired my sisters and it was actually really good. I’d probably drink it regularly if it all tasted that way everywhere. I got the mocha a la mode crepe with no espresso add raspberry jam and it was so good I was actually tearing up while eating. I am not sure if the employees are culinary students/graduates, but they make their drinks and food like my Italian Nona and it was actually heart warming. Cannot wait to find an excuse to get my sister or a friend to come back with me.

First time in downtown Flint Michigan, feeling hungry before a show at Machine Shop and looking for BBQ. I hit the jackpot. Neat looking building, with an old school vibe to it. Waited on quickly, and the bar makes very good drinks. My fried mushrooms came out quickly after ordering and they were fantastic. Only knock was they could give you a little more for the price. My main dish was the brisket sandwich and it was excellent. Very tender and juicy the spiral shaped fries were a nice change from what most places serve. Great meal attentive service. Best make reservations though,I got the last table without one and folks were qued up waiting. Would definitely recommend this place

Beautiful food presentation. Pretty cafe, comfy chairs. Good quality tea, not too expensive. Wait time for dine-in was a little long but the tea and coffee are good. Sat inside for about an hour with friends and the place constantly has business. Staff are nice too. Offers multiple payment options, very convenient!

Exceptional Coffee & Outstanding Service! Stopped by rhema for my morning brew and left completely impressed! The coffee was absolutely perfect—rich, smooth, and brewed just right. You can tell they use high-quality beans and take pride in their craft. What really stood out was the fantastic service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They took the time to explain their menu and even remembered my order preferences by the end of my visit. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax or work. If you’re looking for a coffee shop that nails both the drink and the experience, this is it. Highly recommend!

The hazelnut latte was so delicious!! Love that they make their syrups in house, makes it taste way better. Coffee was strong and not too sweet which I prefer. I wish they can make a salted caramel syrup too!!

Our coffee drinks were top notch! The atmosphere is epic. The service will make you want to be a regular customer. Great find. I'll make the trip back.

EDIT: I appreciate the timely response and will certainly be returning soon. Reviews should be a reflection of experience and I believe the service I received, the food and drinks we had, and the sufficient response by management to correct the issues with the online platform, warrants a full 5 stars. This is a wonderful local cafe with tremendous food and service. While I initially gave a one star review, it is in no way a reflection of my experience at Cafe Rhema. The cold brew coffee and milk tea were great, sandwiches were great, and the service was truly outstanding. The decor and atmosphere inside was also very neat! The one star is simply for the fact that the online prices do not reflect the price of the actual items. It is not off by just a few cents, but several dollars. The most unfortunate part is that this puts the employees in a very tough spot as they are having to yield questions about the price discrepancies, potentially losing out on tips. They were very kind in explaining why the prices online are not accurate and even offered to get us free chips in an attempt to make up the difference. It did not seem like the first time they had answered a question in regards to this issue either; they were very apologetic. I still highly recommend Cafe Rhema, but just keep in mind that you will likely be paying about 10-15% more than the online prices indicate.

Swank coffee shop. Love the decor. Had the Apple & Cinnamon waffle with a side of bacon. Tasted Great!

Had no idea this place existed! My husband and I stopped and and he chose the espresso old-fashioned and I got an iced tea. Both were amazing!! This has been added to our rotation!

This place is really beautiful and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The food is delicious and you can tell it's made with love. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a good meal in a cozy and relaxing setting.

Tucked away in the bustling Flint Farmers Market, Soggy Bottom Bar is a delightful spot that has quickly become a favorite among both locals and visitors. This charming venue offers an inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy not only exceptional coffee but also a menu of elevated bar food, with their nachos being particularly popular. The bar prides itself on sourcing ingredients from local farmers and artisans, ensuring that every bite supports the community.
I have been hearing great things about this bar and they are all true. It is always great to find a bar burger that is well made and served with a great drink. I grabbed a porker burger because I can't pass up pulled pork on a thick beef patty and bacon. This was a full on 3 napkin experience. I also had the poutine fries and a Moscow mule to finish the meal everything was exceptional. The atmosphere is great located downtown flint. I'm so happy to have found a new lunch spot

Great food, and service! Id definitely recommend them.

The food here is amazing! My wife is vegetarian and she loves the black bean nachos. I had the hot chicken sliders and poutine fries. They were delicious! Super satisfied!!! You know it's good when you think about it after you leave.

Wow! Glad we found this place. The BEST burgers in the state, hands down. Love the olive burger. Hamburgers (huge) made to order. I recommend the poutine fries or the truffle fries as sides. Yum! Plenty of parking, great atmosphere and large beer selection along with a well stocked bar. Friendly staff and well maintained and clean bathrooms. It’s nice going into a bar that doesn’t have big screen TVs playing sports. Just music in the background. Cozy place for date night or to just hang out with friends. Again, BEST BURGERS!

This is a great bar to go to if you are looking for good drinks and good food! I normally get the blackened salmon burger with truffle fries! Truly a 10 out of 10! The fried pickles are amazing as well. My friend’s love their wings & pretzels! The drinks are worth every Penny! Never a long wait to be seated. I recommend this place if you are looking for a good time!

This was our first visit. They were packed. Only one side of the bar was open and the only seats available when we first arrived were along the back wall. We ordered drinks and asked our server if she could let us know when a table was available. She said there was a high table and while taking our things over I noticed there was a booth off to the side and asked if it was okay if we sat there. She said the area was technically closed but it would be okay if we sat there. It was perfect because we were able to put my husband's walker inside the booth and out of the way. I ordered a bloody Mary and he got an old fashioned, both were AMAZING. I ordered the fried pickles and jalapeno popper egg rolls. They were delicious. The egg rolls were spicy but not overly hot and had a great flavor. The fried pickles were spears which made me super happy. My husband ordered the porker burger and he was equally impressed. We'll definitely be back.

This was my first visit, so I had to order a number of things from the menu. It all sounded good. I ordered fried pickle spears, a soft pretzel, and a breakfast burger with upgraded fries to poutine. The pickles were good. The batter needed a little more seasoning, but the homemade ranch was good. I would order again. The pretzel was good with beer cheese that had a kick. The burger was amazing, perfect, and a house made patty, not a preformed frozen one. It was great. The poutine was good, a little salty, but I would get it again. I'm not sure if the fries were pre-salted or if the gravy was just salty. I would get them again. My friend got the grilled cheese, which was on a nice light bread that was toasted perfectly and plenty of melty cheese. I look forward to the next time I am in Flint, trying other items on the menu. Service was great as well, fast, friendly, and got everything right. I give props to who was in the kitchen on Saturday, September 7th, in the afternoon. The food was amazing and out quickly. I will be back.

Blondie's Food & Spirits

Restaurant
Blondie's Food & Spirits on Hill Rd. is a cozy restaurant in Flint that offers American comfort foods and a full bar, along with live music. The family-owned establishment has been awarded Restaurant of the Year multiple times for its passion for people and delicious food. Their menu goes beyond traditional items, featuring vegan and gluten-free options. The restaurant also hosts events like Trivia Night on Sundays at 6 p.m., providing entertainment for its patrons.
Pleasant dining experience. The menu has an abundance to choose from - even offers separate Vegan menu & Gluten-Free menu. The Harvest salad I selected was delicious. This establishment is clean, even the restroom, with plenty of seating. Excellent service from Madison. She was friendly and efficient.
Mary B — Google review
We stopped in here because we saw they had a vegan menu. It was midday in the middle of the week, so there were only a few other customers. Somehow, it still took a long time to get service. The menu had a huge variety of food, including the vegan menu. The sweet potato fries were delicious. The roasted root vegetable flatbread was good too. I got the Mediterranean wrap and added chicken, but it lacked flavor and was a bit dry. I had high hopes because the menu descriptions were great, but none of the food met those expectations. Except for maybe the vegan cheesecake 😄. The atmosphere looked cool though. They have live music and improv nights, lots of TVs for sports and a bar in the back.
Rachel C — Google review
A nice find in Flint! They have a full vegan menu, a full gluten-free menu, and a conventional menu. I appreciated that there is a separate dining room from the Tap Room. The service staff was knowledgeable, accommodating, and fast. Well worth the visit. A place my partner and I will stop at again when we are in the area. Pictured are the BBQ Jackfruit tacos (with cabbage, house-made vegan cheeze, and onions) and house-made chips that were so thick, I couldn't eat them all. My partner opted for a salad with vegan ranch and some vegan mac 'n' chez. We started with the pretzel sticks with chez sauce.

Fellow patrons: YOU MAY WANT TO AVOID EATING HERE. It was a great place when it opened, gets a lot of hype since it was nationally featured some time ago, but the quality of food and service is abysmal now. There have been food quality issues with my last 4 orders. It doesn’t help to speak to management directly, I’ve tried several times. The salad they deemed perfectly fine to serve, was the last straw; see pictures. It was expired, all leaves encased in slime, tomato rotting, really a wonderful sight to see when you get home with your order. I don’t care if you’ve worked there a decade or a day; it is common sense and respect for your customers to NOT serve them expired food. These days we’re all in short supply of money, so when I decide to drop 40 bucks, (which has an automatic gratuity for pickups btw), on a meal, you can bet that I expect it to be better than what I can make at home. Not only was this not as good as running up to the store myself, but after numerous issues and no reconciliation, I take it as an insult and an unnecessary risk to my health that this establishment was knowledgeable and ok with this leaving there kitchen for me to eat. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE. This establishment should be PROMPTLY reviewed by a qualified inspector. Regardless, they have definitely lost my business. I wouldn’t even take a free meal, lest the chance it sends me to the Dr/ hospital. Dine somewhere else that has respect for their customers; they don’t deserve your business.

We had my husband's 75th birthday party at Blondies this past Sunday. They did an amazing job, the waitstaff was excellent and took care of every need including separate tickets. The food was delicious, we highly recommend Blondies for special events or just a great meal.

The vegan menu was amazing. Everything was delicious and better than I expected . I had the BBQ Jackfruit tacos and salad with avocados and vegan Cajun ranch. With the NON Spirits cucumber mocktail .

A new feel with a personal atmosphere. Prices are average, but the food is not. Excellent choices and delicious. Highly recommended and worth the drive if that's a consideration.

We had dinner at blondies for the first time, the food was wonderful and our server, Jeremiah, was the absolute best. He was very attentive to us and my son. My son asked me to write a review on how good he was, that's saying a lot coming from a 9 year old. Thank you Jeremiah for a great experience.

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport

International airport
Airport
Airport featuring an underground tunnel with a color-changing LED light show synchronized to music.
Detroit Metro Airport is well-organized, clean, and easy to navigate. Security lines moved quickly, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout. Loved the variety of dining and shopping options, especially in the McNamara Terminal. Plenty of charging stations, comfortable seating areas, and clear signage made the whole process stress-free. Parking and rental car facilities are also convenient and well-managed. Overall, a smooth and pleasant airport experience
Anita A — Google review
This airport is fairly large with decent signage, but it can be a bit overwhelming if you’re unfamiliar with the layout. Security lines move at a reasonable pace most of the time, though they can get long during peak hours. The facilities are clean and there’s a good variety of food and shopping options, but prices are on the higher side. Transit between terminals via the tram is convenient, yet walking distances can still be quite long. Overall, functional and well-maintained, but not the most seamless travel experience.
Prashant D — Google review
Clean, bright modern facility with ample amenities and some great restaurants and shops. Has multiple concourses but has speed trains and moving sidewalks. Be sure to see the public art space in an illuminated tunnel which connects terminal A with other terminals. It shimmers and transforms over time. When I moved through a group of toddlers was transfixed by the displays. Have been here only in Autumn and Spring though so can’t speak of how it is when snow and ice happens.
Keith H — Google review
Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) is one of the cleanest, most efficient, and best-organized airports in the country. From the moment you enter, it’s clear that the airport was designed with travelers’ comfort and convenience in mind. The signage is easy to follow, security moves fairly quickly compared to other major airports, and the staff are consistently professional and friendly. One of the best things about DTW is the wide range of food options available throughout both the McNamara and North terminals. You can find everything from local Detroit favorites like National Coney Island and Chick Inn Diner to national names like P.F. Chang’s, Potbelly, Starbucks, and Chick-fil-A. For travelers who appreciate a sitdown meal before a flight, Andiamo and Cat Cora’s Taproom offer quality dining and drinks with attentive service. Even the grab-and-go markets have a nice variety of fresh sandwiches, salads, and snacks. The airport’s lounges are also excellent. The Delta Sky Club in the McNamara Terminal is spacious, modern, and stocked with complimentary food, beverages, and work areas. There’s also a Lufthansa Lounge and a Freedom Center for military travelers. The atmosphere throughout the terminals feels calm and wellmaintained, with plenty of seating and charging stations. Overall, Detroit Metro Airport offers a great balance of comfort, dining variety, and efficiency making layovers or early-morning departures surprisingly pleasant. It’s one of the most traveler-friendly airports in the Midwest and a strong reflection of Detroit’s hospitality and energy.

First time here. My first issue was I ASSUMED Detroit (like the rest of the Midwest) would be minus one hour from the East Coast in October. But when we landed they started listing the connecting cities that had right connections. So I asked Google if Detroit observed Daylight Savings Time, and they don't. So, them I realized I had ten minutes to reach the next gate before boarding. Well, if you are fit and active, you can make it . I had time to buy some postcards. Then, I made it to the line on time while they were boarding. The airport is Huge. The terminals are very long. At least I got postcards for my friend. On my way back it will be an early morning connection so not sure how that will go. But overall, the staff was all eager to tell me how to get around. I got off at B something and my gate was A 72. Imagine that. They have many rolling walkways.

This airport was very clean…the bathrooms were very clean as well and there was always someone cleaning in there. Easy to navigate. There’s a good variety of food and stores. They also have a good coffee shop I tried, that wasn’t Starbucks or Coffee Bean. No issues and overall a good experience at this airport!
R M — Google review
Very easy airport to navigate. Layout is simple, the main terminal is very very long. If you arrive and take off from gates at opposite ends of the terminal, it’s a hike. There are indoor trams but I found it was more hassle thank just walking. The airport is clean and staff is very nice. TSA was quick. Decent food options but nothing spectacular.
B.F. 0 — Google review
A clean and efficient airport. Our experience going through Customs was fast and easy. Meant to stop by the Global Entry office to condct my interview to finalize my Global Entry application but the signage was not easy to see and passed through security before realizing it was near the Customs bag pickup. Will have to wait until my next trip unfortunately. Concourse A is extremely long but the tram can help save walking time. A decent amount of food options available.
