Absolutely worth the drive - every time. I’ve regularly driven over two hours from Porter’s Lake to paddle with Cape LaHave Adventures, passing other outfitters along the way, because once you’ve experienced the kind of care, quality, and connection that Cape LaHave offers, nothing else quite compares. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that this is a place run with heart. Owners Sarah and Scotty have created something truly special: a welcoming, community-rooted business where passion and care are evident in every detail. Their gear is excellent and thoughtfully inclusive, with size options that many others overlook. The guides are knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely fun to be around. Whether you're new to paddling or experienced, you’ll feel supported and inspired. The location is stunning, with easy access to the LaHave Islands, and there’s a wide range of offerings to suit all levels and interests. Cape LaHave isn’t just a paddling company - it’s a place where you feel connected, seen, and completely at home on the water. If you’re looking for a meaningful, memorable adventure, this is the place.
The most perfect morning! Gavin was a great guide, and getting to swim from the beach on Cape Lahave Island was fabulous. My friend and I were just blissed out for the rest of the day!
This was my second time exploring islands with Cape Lahave and I can’t get enough - top of the line equipment, wonderful guides, exquisite location. An absolute must see on any Nova Scotia trip - the overnights on the islands are an incredible experience. Highly recommend!
Highly recommended! We had a playful 3 hour experience on the water, just the right blend of paddling and relaxing to enjoy the surroundings, the views, the inlets and the seals! Amazing genuine guide. Thank you ❤️
Wow!! What an absolutely amazing experience! We had a 4 hour kayak adventure and finished with a sea to table dinner that included fresh oysters and lobster. Our kayak guides were Gavin and Colin and they did an amazing job! They made the whole experience easy! We are not experienced kayakers at all and the pace was great. They told us so much about the area and the animals. It was a wonderful experience. Then we got back to shore and changed and had an amazing sea to table dinner. Highly recommend!
My 2 friends and I did the morning paddle. Our guides Julia and Colin were very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and safety conscious. The pace was perfect, allowing time to enjoy the nature around us. We saw many seals and osprey and had a delicious cookie break at a beach. Overall a fantastic time. Highly recommend.
Our Cub Pack had an amazing time at Cape Lahave Adventures! Fifteen 8-12 year olds and six adults did their Morning Tranquil Tides adventure and it was a great time, no matter the skill level. Our guides Cole, Colin, Gavin, and Undine showed us around the Lahave Islands and we always felt safe and well cared for on the water. Afterwards we camped on site, and Scotty and Sarah were very accommodating and made us feel like we were at home. Amazing adventures, and even better people! Highly recommended!
Our group had a great experience with our paddle among the LaHave islands. Our guides were excellent and made us feel like we could do the paddle, even with the rain/mist experienced. They had all the gear, including additional rain gear, so we didn't end up feeling uncomfortable. They brought us fairly close to the seal area, which was a highlight for me. We were able to rebook for a different day easily due to the weather as well (although both days were not great weather-wise). We really enjoyed this magical experience on the Atlantic!

Staff is friendly and museum is made fun by interactive features. Worth going out of your way to experience! Nice views around the area as well.
Nice place to stop and see some history. Not far off the beaten path. Good pace to pick up a few souvenirs.
We loved this museum. The area is breathtakingly gorgeous, one of the most beautiful places we've been in the province (and that's saying a lot). The museum is absolutely packed full of stuff; there's so much to see and read, all for free. Thoroughly recommend stopping by if you're at all curious.
Free, but donations welcome!! Owned and operated by the community. Great items of maritime life, great local stories, fishing life of the Lobsterman, loved it!!
Nicely displayed true history of people and tools of the fishermen and local residents from years past.donations are excepted to help with cost of people and material.
Surprisingly cute little museum. Unexpected on our trip. Lots of marine.and nautical antiques to see. Had a blast showing the kids and wife some of the things used long ago.
A quirky gem of a museum that gives an amazing history of the island and its people. Fascinating exhibits and friendly staff a beautiful location. Definitely worth a visit.
Very interesting history. Beautiful building! Quaint spot tucked off beaten path.

Very nice museum. Surprising with its interesting pieces of History. Do not miss it between the two beach days!
Stopped by during the first week of September 2023 - the weather was awesome but unfortunately the museum had closed for the season. We did get to speak with someone local who shared a lot of information about the museum and the area. This would be a great place to enjoy a picnic lunch, etc.
We didn't go in, but stopped by for a look after a cable ferry ride across the river! Interesting facts posted by the lighthouse. A fun quick stop.
This museum is truly a hidden gem! There’s so much information and history to read through, along with fascinating items from historic times. I was even able to find some information on my own ancestors, which was such a cool experience. They also have old recipes printed that you can take home - a unique touch I really loved. If you’re interested in Acadian history, this is an absolute must-visit spot.
The museum is small and entry is by donation. We enjoyed looking around. The grounds are beautiful and lovely to wander.
Came from Ontario to visit the Laheve museum and it's closed due to filming. The museum should have posted it!!! We were able to view thanks to the film crew Organizer. Thank you
Such a beautiful little treasure on the south shore , ample parking , beautiful beach to walk anytime of year, of the museum itself which is only open in the summer. Also I understand available to host weddings and reunions etc. The view is beautiful
It speaks of a lot about the history of the Acadians and Mikmaks, we were unable to enter the lighthouse as it is still under renovation but overall there is a lot knowledge about the area to be gained here.. The museum is also close to the La Have bakery, beaches and vineyard.

The easiest and fastest way to cross the Lahave River from the 331 highway to Highway 332. It's Free. Just be patient. Super friendly ship ⚓. Highly recommended because of the relaxing view then grab a bite at the Lahave River Bakery 🥯🧁
We visited on very cold day! Ice floating in water when we got off of ferry. The captain let us visit the controls where it was nice and warm for these Florida girls. Posted pics above. That was 2yrs ago and will be visiting again this Feb.
I wouldn't say terminal? It's a parking spot, and ramp... Lovely just the same
We had a lovely trip across the lahave. Thank you
Didn't now it was there. Quick trip across.
