Visiting Hopewell Rocks was an unforgettable experience, possibly my favorite in a long time. We were incredibly fortunate to spot a bull moose during low tide, an event that almost never occurs. It was a truly special and unexpected moment. The staff on site were exceptional, highly organized and attentive. They ensured everyone’s safety by guiding us from the beach back to the stairs as the moose came closer to shore. Witnessing both the low and high tides was absolutely breathtaking. The natural beauty here is indescribable, a must-see experience!
My wife and I visited Hopewell Rocks, and it turned out to be one of the most fascinating places we’ve seen. Watching the dramatic transformation between high and low tide was simply incredible — at low tide, we walked right on the ocean floor among the famous “flowerpot” rock formations, and just a few hours later, those same rocks were surrounded by water, standing like islands. It’s amazing how powerful the Bay of Fundy tides are — they’re actually among the highest in the world, rising and falling up to 14 meters each day. The place is well set up for visitors, with ample parking and a ticketed entry system. Tickets are valid for two consecutive days, which is great because it lets you experience both tides without rushing. The walk to the rocks takes about 15 minutes along a scenic trail, but there’s also a paid shuttle if you’d rather not hike. We found the whole setup very organized and easy to navigate. Before you go, it’s worth checking the official website for tide timings so you can plan your visit around them. They also offer free guided tours, which are really informative and help you appreciate the geology and history behind these beautiful formations. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here — it’s one of those rare natural wonders that truly lives up to the hype.
This place looks like it's straight out of another world! The scenery is so incredibly unique and just breathtaking. It's definitely a prime spot for snapping some amazing photos. As you learn the history, you can really feel the history all around you here. The sheer beauty of the landscape is something else. Plus, it offers a nice little cardio workout as you explore. I could wander around here for ages just taking it all in. It’s a truly remarkable and memorable experience.
Beautiful visit - we came over 2 days once to see the tide up and once to walk on the ocean floor. My 3 year old really enjoyed the park slides and the ride down to the rocks on the cart (it's $2 each way per adult and free for him). It felt like a safari to him! The little museum is really nice! Very informative. Gift shop is cute but I found that when we went it was not stocked properly (off season). They only had a weird night version magnet of Hopewell rocks. The little kid's DIY boxes on sale ended up having completely dried out paint. I would say the price is a bit much for what you get.
The absolute best part of visiting is witnessing the dramatic difference between high and low tide. At low tide, you can walk on the exposed ocean floor and stand beneath the massive, tree-topped "flowerpot" rock formations, a rare and surreal experience. Just a few hours later, these same areas are submerged under as much as 40 to 50 feet of water. Amazing!
Great place to view nature at work carving the rocks on a daily basis with phenomenal tides. Super visitor centre with a restaurant and displays explaining the geography of the place. Plenty of staff around to guide you and answer any questions. Enjoyable walk to the various viewing points or the beach itself. The track is steep in places. There's also a shuttle you can take from the arrival point to the top of the beach area: $2 CAN per person per one way trip. Lots of steps to get down to the beach but there's also a wheelchair access route marked out(didn't try it). Tip: You dont have to wait the full 6 hours between tides. We saw high tide at about 930 in the morning and were able to stand on part of the beach by 1300. You'll need to wait a bit longer if you want access to the beach trail around the shoreline.
We loved Hopewell Rocks. Staying overnight nearby to see both high and low tide was absolutely worth it. The trails are beautiful, the hike is enjoyable, and the shuttle makes it easy to explore. Good coffee, a great gift shop, and a nice little museum made the visit even better. The people are so friendly and knowledgeable, which really added to the experience.
Hopewell Rocks is an absolute must-see! The rock formations are stunning and unlike anything else—nature’s sculptures carved by the tides. The walk down to the beach is easy and accessible, making it enjoyable for visitors of all ages. Once you’re on the ocean floor, the views are breathtaking and the photo opportunities are endless. Whether you visit at low tide to explore the beach or at high tide to see the rocks surrounded by water, it’s an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful kayaking experience with Baymount outdoor adventures. While I have kayaked before it was the first time sea kayaking. The guide made sure we had a safe and enjoyable trip. It was an amazing experience kayaking amongst the rock formations that I had walked under just hours before.
This was such a great tour! We went earlier in the day at low tide and walked amongst all the rock formations. We then came back in the evening for the high tide tour to kayak the same area. It was so cool to imagine we were walking on the ocean floor just a few hours prior! It’s an entirely different landscape. The guides were great. I hadn’t kayaked in some time and they helped get me sorted and more comfortable. They told stories of some of the history of the area which was interesting to hear. We even saw a seal off in the distance!
I highly recommend it during high tide to kayak through the rocks and see them up close. The tour was educational and fun. Staff were friendly, funny, knowledgeable and very safe. Kayaks are very stable and all equipment is provided, even a dry bag. 100% worth it.
We went kayaking here on a recent family vacation and it was the highlight of our trip. Getting to see the effect of the tides up close was so cool. All of the guides were incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the park. They shared a lot of interesting information with us about the Bay of Fundy during the excursion. They took our safety very seriously and made everyone feel very comfortable, even those who had never kayaked before. They were also happy to take photos for us and give us further recommendations for things to see in the area. I would highly recommend kayaking here, it was absolutely worth the price.
We had a great time with Brad & Olivia. It was quite windy during the day but they predicted the weather perfectly. Once we were out on the water conditions improved and everyone throughly enjoyed the time together. Great history lesson and got some paddling tips. Even got to see a moose trapped on the beach at high tide.
We loved it!! 💧 Emily and the rest of the crew are top notch. First off, the tour is inclusive, giving instructions in both English and French. Secondly, safety is definitely a priority......not just in giving initial instructions, but all throughout our adventure.....ongoing guidance, checkins, and reminders. We had a steering issue that was assessed and fixed right away. Finally, the Baymount crew is wonderful!.....friendly, kind, fun, knowledgeable, & very welcoming. 10/10 we definitely recommend!
First of all, great guides who made sure we were safe and gave us a lot of info about the rocks. Equipment was top notch. We all had 2 up kayaks, which gave us more power against the waves going around one point.
Had such an incredible experience! Great way to explore the Hopewell/Flower Pot Rocks! Even in windy and wavy conditions, I had the best time! The team were incredible and very transparent and informative. I felt very safe. There were lots of stops and I leant a lot about the area. Would highly recommend!

We heard about this place from a bartender up in Moncton at the Pump House when we were talking about our road trip destinations. Stopped by and checked it out and would highly recommend to anyone even remotely interested in history of Canada and the area. You can see the passion the curators put into this place and how well they keep things restored. Loved that you could wander through all the buildings and array of displays and exhibits. The jail walls (graffiti and writings) and the preservation of the courthouse were the highlights for me! Be sure to pay the entrance fee. We accidently drove past the booth and there was a number of signs indicating people don't pay. It is a very reasonable fee and you can tell they put the money to good use keeping things up.
This was a great experience if you are into old towns. So many really great artifacts from the 1920s to the 1960s. So much Canadian history from world war 1 and lots of farming equipment from the early 1900s. Staff was really great too. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Price was fantastic to it was only $25 for a family and we had 7 people with us.
Great visit. History of the area and the people. There are tools from the past, records of the people in the area. The court house and the gaol. Information on the battles fought there and in the World Wars. There is even a dinosaur. Wortham visit or two.
We stopped in here just because it was open and ended up being totally enamored with this little county museum and it's story. Our museum guide Janet was super helpful and very informative. This place is an open air type of museum and does require a bit of walking around. But considering all the little details that have gone into every space of the buildings that is a wonderful way to spend the day. The buildings are all the original ones (save the courthouse which burned down and was rebuilt in 1904) on the original foundations. Generally this is pretty rare as most buildings in museums like this have been relocated so it adds a little bit more shine to this place. There are washrooms available for public use and detailed story telling everywhere! They have some special rooms dedicated to a former Prime Minister from the county and a former prisoner who may or may not have committed a grievous crime (you'll have to decide!) The real star of thise show is the gaol (jail) house in which they kept debtors and Tom Collins. While undergoing a restoration they discovered etchings in the walls, pen marks, and overall graffiti from all the former inmates they held. A very cool experience they have preserved with plexiglass. Definitely stop by and have a look. Oh and this museum was once a stop for The Amazing Race Canada so if you're lucky? They'll let you hold the sign.
We had a great experience at the museum. The guy at the information desk was really helpful and friendly. There’s multiple buildings to visit (6 in total) so I would say that you can easily spend 1h30-2h to visit everything.
I volunteer at our local library in the friends department. I always like to look at libraries when we travel because they are so different and unique. You could not get books at this Library it was more for just enjoying it. It was with several other museums on a compound. Was fun to see.
It's a village type of museum. There's not a lot walking, and could easily be done in a few hours. I would have loved more interactions between the people inside the different buildings. Another thing, there was one building we couldn't enter because we had to pay extra. It kind of sucks when you pay an entrance fee and then you have to pay more for a building. This has soooooo much potential for more visitors.
Neat historical place, good WW1 exhibit

Wendy makes beautiful mugs and pottery with a thoughtful utility behind them. She is also an inspiration and mentor to many others. I bought my first mug over twenty years ago from her, and just bought another while visiting Moncton. She features work from many other artists. I encourage a visit.
Front room and loft present a fascinating collection of pottery, paintings, and jewelry from various artists reflecting wide variety of styles, while the back room serves as fully functional pottery studio including small kiln where the owner lives her artistic visions.
Wendy has a Great little shop with many artisans from jewelry to wood bowls and shaker boxes. I wish she had her pottery teacup style mugs. Awesome designs. It is hard to find local artisans anymore. Totally worth a stop if you are in the area.
Wendy is so lovely! Her shop has the most incredible art and functional home items from the Atlantic. I treated myself to a wool blanket made in PEI. Thanks for having us in, Wendy!
Bright shop in the most scenic of locations. A stunning display of pieces by the very colourful and talented Wendy Johnston as well as a large variety of other Maritime artists. So nice to see so many creative people represented. Every knook of this space is tastefully used to display pottery as well as jewelry, prints, wood pieces, fabric arts and much more. Definitely worth the stop for anyone visiting the area, or for shopping locally.
Wonderful small gallery, her pottery is lovely and she carries an assortment of items including wall art, and quite a bit of jewellery all from local artists... My favorite kind of gallery to find while on vacation. She was extremely friendly.
Wendy's Craft Gallery hosts the work of some of the finest artisans & artists in the Maritimes. Her own pottery is very unusual but quite wonderful in its special mix of design & bright colours.
Beautiful works of art, all highly unique and most by local artists, not to forget Wendy's own amazing pottery pieces. Definitely worth stopping in if you're passing through or in the area.
