The MadRock Hiking Trail in Bay Roberts is an absolutely stunning trail that offers breathtaking coastal views and a serene connection with nature. The trail is well-marked, and the scenery is spectacular, especially at Jugglers Cove. The dramatic cliffs and rugged landscape provide a great experience for outdoor enthusiasts. However, it's important to note that some spots along the trail have dangerous cliff drop-offs, especially when the ground is muddy or wet. It's crucial to be cautious and watch your footing in these areas. Despite the potential hazards, the trail is worth every step for the views alone. This trail is a must-do if you're in the area, but be sure to wear proper hiking boots and keep safety in mind while exploring.
What a beautiful hike. We really enjoyed it.
Loved this beautiful area with the spectacular views! Enjoyed a lovely walk on a perfect late October day.
Nice long looping trail, well maintained, easy grade. Shoreline views on both sides of the peninsula, and the blueberries were everywhere when we were there. Saw a whale working its way into Spanish Bay. Lots of options for shortening up the hike with your vehicle if you so desire. Definitely worth a visit.
Really nice. The 3 sisters rock formation is on the other side. If you don't want to hike you can just drive down. There is no parking on the French cove side
Wow awesome hike. I'd say easy for anyone with hiking experience, moderate for those inexperienced. We walked the entire thing in 2.5 hours but we stop a lot for photos and to just take in the views. The eastern and northern portions have stunning views and are actual hiking paths. The western portion is on road and can be missed, except for the bit towards the top end where the "Three Sisters" rock formation and beach are (nice metal staircase leading down). The entire beach is full of perfect skipping stones - bring the kids! So impressed, Bay Roberts has done a great job on trail maintenance and signage - there are even a few simple Toilets. There are tons of blueberries to pick along the way when in season. As usual obey instructions regarding cliffs and private property. There is parking at several access points, check the trail map.
Bay Roberts sits on the coast of one of the fingers of Newfoundland’s Avalon Peninsula, on the west side of Conception Bay, just across the water from the city of St John’s. Its coastal location and proximity to the city makes it a popular spot for visitors looking to drink in the wonder of Canada’s farthest east coast. The Shoreline Heritage Trail will offer some challenges to amateur walkers, but its craggy landscape is worth the effort. Considered an “easy-to-moderate” hike, the Shoreline Heritage Trail is a five-mile (8km) loop that takes explorers along beaches, sheer cliffs and brilliant green terrain. One of the highlights is Madrock, an outcrop that sees the full fury of the Atlantic Ocean. You can pack a picnic to enjoy at the Three Sisters pebble beach to extend the duration of your walk, which takes about two hours without stops.
Very beautiful trail with an amazing view. It is difficult to find the beginning of the trail as google Maps showing a wrong point. Later on, we learned that there are 3 entry points. We used the last one just near the private house, hidden around the corner. Trail is not marked well, so if during bad weather and not many people around, make sure you marked where you left the car and entered the trail. It is absolutely spectacular

A totally unexpected delight. Staff were friendly and the exhibits went a notch above what you might expect. The entry fee was below standard, so much so, we made a donation. What a hidden jewel this town was. Loved it.
Excellent historical museum and art gallery with a stunning exhibition of Chris Pratt, David Blackwood and other artists currently on exhibition. Happened upon this while visiting Bay Roberts Shoreline Heritage Walk, and would highly recommend you stop! Also, the staff are very friendly and cute. Thanks!

Great place to go to find things that are from Newfoundland's proud past and old things we just have to have. Werner is a good photographer as well, his photo's on canvas are fabulous and are great as souvenirs or for the walls in your home. I especially like the large ones and bought several for my own place.
We were pleasantly surprised to find such a fine gallery just off the beaten path. After having toured many of the places around the Avalon, we were very impressed on how well the images displayed there captured the beauty and quaintness of much of the locale. The immediate area surrounding Seacliff House gallery offers classic seaside vistas complete with crashing waves against rocks as you hike along a very forgiving trail around Madrock. If you are a collector of souvenirs, there is a good assortment of beautiful and practical items priced within most budgets.
Lots of stuff & pretty cool! A bit pricey but so is any good antique store. Recommended a browse at minimum.
A must stop, so many fun finds! Owner is friendly and informative. Will be back.
I was at the new store in Brigus. Really clean spot and a lot of nice items.
Fantastic place to find cool treasure! I found a dish I have been searching years for! 👍🏻
Nice little place and always some good finds.
