Truly an under rated gem in PEI, it’s quite far away from most things but worth the trip. Inside is extremely thorough exhibits that are also entertaining. Also, it is very easy to walk past their large hanger of farm equipment, but i encourage you to go In and see all the farming history. They also have a cheap and tasty potato themed restaurant and cute gift shop
No visit to Prince Edward Island would be complete without a visit to the Canadian Potato Museum & Antique Farm Machinery Museum. Lots to see, lots to learn. Be sure to have a serving of their French fries, which are by far the best French fries I've ever had!
What a truly wonderful place. We cannot recommend it too strongly. The museum is, of course, hugely informative, and the staff wonderful. But the restaurant! Oh My Goodness... With the help of the excellent Daniel, we concocted a lobster poutine that's hard to beat. They want to experiment & perfect it, so make sure you ask for it. My only change would be to use warm rather than cold lobster. But it was still wonderful - and I've eaten (and prepared) lobster poutine multiple times 🙏
I did not actually visit the museum, but stopped by for lunch in their cafe. It was very easy to walk in and get seated quickly. I was able to review the menu and the waitress came over to take my order within a few minutes. I ordered the pulled pork potato which came out very quickly and was delicious. I wasn't planning on getting dessert but they did have an apple crisp, which I got, and it was also fabulous. They had a cute little gift shop, and I purchased a couple bags of potato chips.
A unique museum with a nice mix of local community history and extensive information on potato farming and history. The restaurant fresh chips are great as was the blueberry bread pudding. Well worth the visit with friendly staff.
We had a great time touring the the building. The local history exhibits was very interesting as well. The history of the potato and PEI is well laid out, easy to read and lots of exhibits. They have a wonderful restaurant there with al sorts of potatoes dishes that are great. You have to try their blueberry bread pudding covered in caramel sauce, omg, it is sooo good.
It wasn't my decision to go to the Canadian Potato Museum, but I'm glad I went. I learned a lot. Any antique farm machinery display was very interesting. Don't forget to stop at the restaurant and have a bite to eat. The ladies there are very friendly and you can watch them making french fries right at the counter. I had the grilled cheese sandwich and fries. It was the best grilled cheese I have ever had made with bread that has potatoes as the ingredients. And I would say the world's greatest french fries.
Learn about the history of potato farming and its significance to our world, Canada, and PEi’s agricultural scene and economy. Exhibits features a detailed overview of potato agriculture and cultural significance around the world as well as insights to modern production and techniques. There is also an exhibit with old farm equipment and one specific to the municipalities history. Then hit the gift shop for potato themed and local made goods as well as restaurant for the loaded bake potatoes, poutine, or even the green algae pie (more like a an angel food cake with algae whip cream but still very good). I wasn’t expecting much but there was defiantly loads to see. We spent 2.5 hours here and could have easily spent half the day.

Friends and I travelled down from Quebec to PEI. One of my friends lost her crochet hook from home on our drive up and was devastated that she could not crochet on the beach as planned. We ran into the lovely owners of Fabric Crafts'n More Quilt Gallery at the Potato Museum. They generously welcomed us into their shop just after closing for the day. My friend was easily able to find her crochet hook and other accessories for an affordable price. The shop is so organized and colourful. The owners are absolute sweethearts who are clearly passionate about needlework. 10/10 would recommend.
Amazing selection of quilting cottons. Great prices ! They always have a sale on. Amazing gallery of pei quilts !
Staff was very nice and helpful Found what we needed quickly Nice local space with alot more than just pharmacy basics
Amazing! So much to choose from. I brought some east coast fabric, back the to the west coast.
Very helpful staff. Clean and welcoming shop.

My wife discovered 'Follow Your Heart Woodworking' through online blogs which she follows. Julie is so creative and talented, and a joy to do business with. My wife requested a small custom piece and Julie was quick to correspond and ensure we were happy with the result, which we certainly were. Julie is proud of the work and pieces that she creates and it shows in their quality and workmanship. We are looking forward to visiting again !!
