The Fisherman's Life Museum was very charming, without masking the difficulties of its former inhabitants' lives. Wonderful to hear the staff tell stories about the family. I loved getting to know a little more local history.
Great place to stop in for a few minutes on your Eastern Shore drive/tour. Visited July 11 2025 and had place to our leaves. Set up as a home from the 1800s with 13 children you can appreciate what like may have been like for a big family in a small rural home. The docent took us around the home and highlighted a few things and at the end some ginger cookies! My little one loved the wooden birds. Enjoyable, thank you. Brand new accessible washrooms with changing tables on site.
Interesting window into years gone by. My host was very informative. Lots to look at. Smelled of history, which I like.
A charming and educational spot to stop and get a glimpse into what life was like here over a century ago. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed cookies and rhubarb spritz as a parting gift. Well worth the visit!
It’s like stepping back in time! Rural inshore fishing heritage in Nova Scotia’s yesteryears.
Excellent small museum in a great setting. Very informed and helpful staff.
What a great preservation of HISTORY! Kind of creepy (in a ghostly kind of way) with a mix of "little house on the prairie" delightfulness.
Great place to learn how the early settlers lived and see a home that was built in the past.

Beautifully maintained lighthouse on Nova Scotia's eastern shore near Musquodoboit Harbour. Lighthouse is on private property but I was given permission by the landowner to get a closer look. Please respect private property if considering a visit.
Private location, Do not come!
I'll remember this place for a long time
Semi-private, a lot of mosquitoes, etc. - we ate our picnic in the car. Otherwise simple and lovely.
