This park, located about 11 km from Ignace, is a perfect place for a rest stop or camping. As we were en route to Winnipeg, we only stayed for a driving break. The picnic facilities (which are located right at the park entrance) are great, as is the playground, wonderful beach, and water tap that you can use to wash sand or rinse cutlery and plates.
Beautiful beach. Very clear water and clean park. Very shallow for a long way out...ideal for kids but not people who really want to swim. Still well worth it.
This park was overall very clean and well kept. Sites were very clean and private. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The washrooms (outhouses) were very clean and better then most gas station facilities. Assistant Superintendent Pam was very friendly and helpful, Pam set us up with a local who spent time with us sharing his knowledge of the area. Thanks Pam We will return.
An exceptionally quiet park with good campsites with a huge beach where you can walk out almost a kilometer before the water hits your shoulders. Not so good if you want to swim laps but my kids thought it was amazing and a highlight of their day.
Sandbar lake provincial park is alright. We were there in the middle of June and were swarmed with mosquitos. Wow. After spraying ourselves with bug spray, we went for a wander through the campsite and found so much standing water that I would be surprised if there weren't that many mosquitos. When we arrived at the gate, we were told the best way to get to our campsite. Nope. Eventually I will learn not to trust summer employees how I shoulda maneuver the roads to park a 45ft trailer. The dock needs a bit of upkeep but nothing that affected us as we don't have a boat. The trees are tall so if you have starlink, you're going to want to just leave it packed up. There is very next to no cellular service in the campground.
Arrived yesterday. Check in was seemless Park is beautiful! Great beach for the kids. Nice little lake for fishing. Fantastic area for picnics and such. Will be making this park an annual destination.
Nice warm lake. Hiking trail up the rock face is a long walk along the beach, but the view from the top is well worth it.
Beautiful park. Immaculately kept. Stunning beach. Lots of animal and plant life. The staff are amazing. So incredibly helpful and kind.

This is a BEAUTIFUL resort with kind, accommodating staff, gorgeous scenery, and top notch amenities and rooms. My husband and I checked in for our honeymoon at our original hotel, which turned out to be a disaster. We called Muskoka Bay after finding them online, and we were able to stay there instead. We left our original very disappointing hotel and arrived to Muskoka Bay, where a gift was left in our room for our marriage, and had a Mercedes shuttle take us to a fine dining restaurant on site overlooking the golf course. The staff, especially Jonathon, were incredibly accommodating. Our room was essentially a nicely updated condo with a view of the golf course. The course and putting greens were beautiful and meticulously maintained. The pool and poolside area are gorgeous, and beyond clean - staff check the pool water quality multiple times a day in front of you! They also have a fire pit and free smores kits to enjoy. The amount of little details the resort has is a testament to their quality. We could not recommend Muskoka Bay more, and will absolutely be visiting again multiple times.
Very friendly staff at the front desk, Johnny had everything prepared and informed us of all the great facilities. An outstanding golf course with great greens and some really top notch golf holes and a really nice practice area, the pro shop staff went out of their way to make our golf experience awesome. The pool and fitness area are perfect and with the infinite pool looking over the 1st hole what else could you need The Cliffside Restaurant is outstanding from the service to the views and the great drinks and very tasty 34 oz cowboy steak dinner with all the fixen's. A great trip from start to finish , looking forward to returning in the future.
Newer hotel resort, Great for golfers. Went in September. Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Shuttle, luxury vehicle, available to take you to restaurant on grounds or close. Restaurant on grounds food is fantastic. Wish we had have been informed in advance that our dining room reservation (anniversary dinner) was moved to a private room. They knew about the end of season golf function but only let us know 24 hours in advance…..not enough time to find a comparable place for dinner in the vicinity. Be sure to ask when booking.
We had our wedding at Muskoka Bay Resort in Gravenhurst, and it was truly everything we had hoped for—and more. From the breathtaking location to the exceptional staff, every detail was handled with care and professionalism. We had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth Dunn directly through the entire wedding planning. On the day of the wedding, the staff were incredibly kind, organized, and attentive. Everything ran so smoothly, and we received countless compliments from our guests on how well-executed the entire day was. Their professionalism really allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the moment. The food was absolutely incredible—every course was delicious and beautifully presented. Our guests are still raving about it! The on-site hotel was also magnificent. The rooms were bright, spacious, and thoughtfully designed—perfect for getting ready and capturing beautiful wedding portraits. It was also so convenient for our guests, especially with the villas just a short distance away. We also want to give a big shoutout to the shuttle team, who worked tirelessly all weekend transporting guests between the villas, hotel, and clubhouse. They were so friendly and efficient, and their efforts made the whole experience that much smoother for everyone. If you’re considering Muskoka Bay Resort for your wedding, we can’t recommend it enough. The setting is stunning, the team is top-notch, and it truly was the perfect place to celebrate such a special day.
This is a great resort. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly. My daughter and I got a complimentary room upgrade which was much appreciated. We really enjoyed our time here. We did not golf, however the grounds looked meticulous. The pool was a lot of fun and we enjoyed the hot sauna.
Other than the construction by the main hotel building, the hotel itself was great. Reception was very welcoming and helpful. Shuttle back and forth from hotel to clubhouse was a huge plus too! Pool was nice, although much smaller than expected based off online photos. Personally think the tiling needs a good revamp. Giving this a 4 star only because the parking situation sucked so bad. Very very tight spaces, 1 misaligned vehicle and its next to impossible fitting in beside them. Domino effect that to the whole lot. So yeah, 5 stars on everything, -1 star for the parking catastrophe. Still worth coming back!
Course is in great shape, and staff were super friendly. Only criticism would be the food, was slightly under par for the price (no pun intended). Aside from that it's a must play if you're in the area, and worth the trip if you aren't
Great location and amazing stay! I was blown away by the sheer professionalism and generosity of the staff, especially Ana who helped us with our discount/upgrade, big thanks! The room was also clean, modern and had a great view of the golf course which was a big bonus. I also loooved the fact that they had amenities such as a games room as well as an infinity pool/ restaurant/ fitness center on site in other buildings that can be shuttled to and from if you don’t want to take a short stroll, but wow who knew! I’ve had lots of fun during my stay here so far and I can’t dwell enough of how great the staff (so welcoming and attention to detail when doing room service!) and stay (great location, convenient to lots of attractions and hiking trails/ parks!). Will definitely consider coming back if I’m ever in the Muskoa area again 100%!! :)
