Amazing place. For all that’s good and holy, if you camp in the back woods area, it’s on a mountain and gets cold.
This park is about 30 mins outside of Saguenay. And the trails are well marked and maintained. Facilities were ok. This trial is also park friendly
Monts-Valin National Park is one of Quebec’s hidden gems, offering a breathtaking combination of rugged peaks, dense boreal forest, and panoramic viewpoints that change dramatically with the seasons. For photographers, the park is a dream destination — from the mystical snow-covered “ghosts” of the winter landscape to the vivid greens and reflective lakes of summer. The summit of the Pic de la Hutte provides an exceptional vantage point over the Saguenay region, while the Vallée des Fantômes trail is an absolute must for winter photography, where trees transform into surreal frozen sculptures. Autumn is equally captivating, with fiery colours painting the hillsides. The park’s well-maintained trails and observation decks make it accessible for both adventure seekers and landscape photographers. Early morning mist over the Valin River or golden light at sunset over Lake Martin-Valin provide perfect conditions for dramatic shots. Whether exploring by snowshoe, kayak, or camera in hand, Monts-Valin offers endless inspiration — a wild, pristine environment that captures the essence of northern Quebec’s natural beauty.
The trail to Pic Grand Cormeau is not maintained properly, prepare your hiking boots for the mud. The view is amazing though.
Excellent trails today, and great views
Love sledding here.

Beautiful camp ground with all the services. They offer a wide variety of outdoor activities. They have a fantastic aerial obstacle course with ziplines with different level of difficulties suitable for all. We did the regular course. My very active family was pleasantly challenged. I don't recommend it for kids under 10. But they do have courses for younger kids. They even have a free very cute one for very young kids. Other activities include sea kayak, via ferrata (will do them soon), and nice walkways in the woods. To get here though, you need cars that have excellent towing capacities if you have a trailer. The slopes are so steep (over 20% inclination), you may not make it. My husband's cousin needed to help tow a trailer up the slope with her pick-up. Other than that, the sanitary blocks are clean, they do have a washing and a drying machines available (free). All in all, really enjoy our stay except for the few rainy days (we went sight seeing in Tadoussac (1hour drive away). Highly recommend for family holiday.
We did the high ropes/zip line course (3 adults). The staff were very helpful and very thorough in their safety demonstration. Because we speak English and the man leading the demo did not, he provided us with an English transcript to follow along. We have zip lined elsewhere so we were familiar with the equipment and what we had to do and had no problems following along. The course itself is challenging but there are three sections that get progressively harder and you have the option to bail after each section. We completed the whole course and it definitely got harder. Two people couldn’t go on in the middle of the first course so one of the employees had to come up mid course to rescue them. They were professional and reassuring to the people who were struggling and got them safely to the ground. I was surprised that helmets and gloves were not provided or available as they were mandatory at other places we have gone. Definitely bring gloves, our hands were feeling it after. Highly recommend if you enjoy this type of thing and are in good shape to do it without fears of heights. We had a great time!
Highly recommended, we stayed as a group of 4 adults in the tree house cabin. Features that I wished we knew: - Electric lighting on the inside, really nice mood lighting - USB outlet - gas range ( two burners ) - pots and pans - the air ventilation was super nice This was def glamping. Next morning, we went to do the zip lining. It's relatively physical so you should be in decent shape. Very fun! The beech was really chill as well
Amazing ziplining experience! But not the living space. My gf and I visited this floating bubble place to stay over night and we had horrors happening from spiders in bathroom, getting trapped inside (the door refused to budge open), and very slippery bridge under the rain. The shower (Murdock Pavillion) is quite far from our location, water pressure that is super low, no vending machines to buy snacks/drinks, and the shop has no self service after hours (so if you stay over night and need something, you wouldnt be able to get anything until morning hits). The fireflies were beautiful and the night was beautiful too with the stars in the sky. The patio we got had a stove that didnt really turn on because the fire didnt spark when we tried to turn on the stove. My gf was trapped inside the bubble because the door was jammed out of nowhere. We finally got it open after 10 minutes trying (I was considering calling the emergency to help us open the door). There is a sleeve to put tips in but there was no service whatsoever, no bedding, no sheets, and my gf paid for the night that cost her 260 bucks. For that price, we could simply live in a 5 star hotel for a night. My gf was greeted by 2 huge spiders in the bathroom close to our place (I wouldnt blame the company since it is the nature that we were staying over at but at least provide some bug sprays or make the bathroom nicer with a tight enclosed door so bugs cannot sneak in). She ran all the way and in the morning refused to use the bathroom, holding her pee for 4 hours until we stopped by Murdock Pavillion. When I asked her what's overall rating from 1-10, she said 4 (that's equal to 2 out of 5 stars). For a 260 bucks per night stay, this place is way too expensive. We were told to clean everything before leaving or we will be charged extra fee. Meaning, they dont have janitor to clean and immediately have it ready for the next customer.
We went only for the rope park. Overall, it was good. There are several paths there, yet not too challenging (tried blue and red). For some reason, they don't provide you with gloves and helmet. So at least bring those special gloves with you when visiting the rioe park. It is not so clear where some of the paths start, but once you are on it , no problem. Forest is full of berries and birds. There are multiple water stations along the paths, so bring a water bottle with you. The tastiest tap water in Canada! There is a small shop at the site entrance - coffee, a few sweets, sunscreen, ice cream, etc. Not expensive. The toilet is about 200 meters inside, towards the camping.
We were 3 mature women that spent 2 nights in the parc in a pod. The cost of the two nights was very high $844 with very basic amenities. The parc offers some interesting accommodations and activities, but they are more geared towards families. For the same cost we could have stayed in 5 star accomodations. The pod was equipped with very basic kitchen supplies - the coffee pot was tiny, the hot plate did not bring water to boil. The round rungs on the stairs to the loft were very quite dangerous. The loft is not really suitable for adults. The park is in beautiful surrondings and offers some very unique activities but the cost may be prohibitive for many families.
Very nice place! We went there to do the tree climbing experience, and while it was quite a challenge and extremely physical, it was fun. The view from the top of the trees is stunning! The parking area seemed a little small, but it was okay. A little off the main road, so some rock/dirt roads are present. There are also activities for kids, and bathrooms are present too. Super nice place, clean and well kept.
Great parc! The service from the staff was nice, efficient and always with a smile 😃 The activities are enough to keep you busy for days! The massage on the beach is reminiscent of a sunspot vacation! The massotherapist was very nice and knowledgeable:D I absolutely loved my experience ❤️

All natural snow is the main attraction but everything else is also top notch! Highly recommend
Snow, snow and more snow. Today was an amazing day to ski at that mountain! Chalet is spacious! Loved it!
One of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. The view was unreal from the top of the mountains and the slopes we're amazing
Love the place ! Beautiful snow, no ice on the pistes, there is few black pistes along with few sous bois. They have a lot of trails for the walking - raquette or ski The only down point for me is constant noise of the motoneige , day and night all along …😔. I know its fun for some ppl, but should be maybe regulated by hours.
The only ski location in Lac Saint Jean that has only 100% real snow. The mountain is clean. The resort is modern. The staff is super nice. Especially to kids. There is a lady at the cafeteria that always makes something special for my son. He loves it. If the lineups gets too big they will open a second chairlift. They have people to control the lineups as well to ensure maximum efficiency. Overall, a great mountain! Lots to do other than ski (rent a cool box, chalet, skidoo, snowshoeing)
Really nice mountain with 100% natural snow. The north-west side of the mountain is usually better if you like more of a challenge and more powder. If you have less experiences you would prefer to stay on the main side. Lots of nice slopes for beginner and intermediate.
Great mountain to ski, a server in the bar was horrible though for one of our days. She spent too much time sitting with her back to everyone chatting with her friends. We had to walk up to her anytime we needed anything. The other servers the other days were very friendly and attentive.
Awesome ski resort! 100% natural snow.

Excellent place! Super beautiful and has a lot of space to walk around. The apples are delicious and the selection of squash/pumpkins is wonderful! Very delicious produce as well. Great apple juice, and many other pâtés, veggies, pies, pestos, confits, and more!! The animals on the farm also look very happy!
This farm is a must visit if you're in the area it's VERY nice and the the lamb I bought there was the best I've ever had! They have a large selection of organic produce to buy from that they grow/raise themselves.
Loved my stay / Adoré mon séjour. Been in wintertime with my spouce. Huge opened space that could accomodate up to 4 ppl. Lots of outdoor activities around and great food (all local). Their (own breeded) lamb is a must and the breakfasts are absolute delishes (waffles, gelly, coffee and yogurt). Owners are awesome ppl. Great attention to details, homemade soap, good soundsystem w/ good playlist. Best value choice out there.
We stayed here for 5 days. Our kids loved the experience. It's a beautiful location and the hosts are great.
Stopped by for a cookie and they were delicious!! If you drive by, you should definitely pick some up.
Great choice of apples and very friendly staff/owners!
Beautiful, fresh and delicious 👍
