Must visit in this area. Very cool beach filled with the most interesting sea glass! Not a long hike down a small trail it was the highlight for me while driving from Gander to Deer Lake. Always cool to see the different shape and colour's of sea glass you can find on this small strip of glassy beach!
Beautiful little beach. Not very big at all though. But still really cool to see in person. A short trail through the woods to get to there. A few stumps and rocks to get carful of but an easier enough trail. There's literally more glass than rocks. It's sad most of the coloured glass is picked and taken though. Definitely worth the visit * Leave nothing but foot prints, take nothing but pictures*
We had a great time at Glassy Beach climbing the rocks, collecting up different types of class, shells or ceramics and watching the waves. The beach was a little smaller than we expected but our unique experience on this beach is definitely a core memory. Just a quick note though: the hike in may be a little challenging for those with mobility issues and there are no washrooms or other amenities.
This was such a cute spot to find! We loved looking through all the glass to find unique pieces to take photos of 💕 please remember not to take any!
A Hidden Gem! After a long drive, Glass Beach was the perfect breather. The views were absolutely stunning, and while the beach itself is small, it has a cozy, welcoming charm that makes it feel special. The colorful glass scattered along the shore adds a touch of magic to the scenery. I left feeling refreshed and already know I’ll be coming back one day.
I get this was made to attract tourists to the area but it personally wasn't worth the 2hr drive from Deer Lake. I might have been misinformed before going, but there's no coloured rocks. Its the recycled glass that gives the different hues. Your car will get muddy at the closer road.
Free access. Not a big beach, very small actually. Not a whole lot of glass there but enough to keep the name. Washes in and out with the tide and ice I guess. Very nice view of the surrounding area thou. Trail is not an easy one so if you have any mobility issues of any kind be prepared. Anything beyond a walking stick I would not recommend trying it but that's a personal opinion and up to you.
Very small cove with lots of sea glass. Mostly clear, white and green glass. Apparently the locals used to dump their trash nearby and over the years the bits of broken glass somehow made their way to this cove. Park on the side of the road and take a short walk into the cove. There are some roots and rocks to walk over and a small climb down to the cove itself. Mildly interesting if you are already in the area but don't make a special trip.
