BRILLIANT! The best heritage experience on PEI. In fact, one of the finest and most engaging, authentic, and inspiring heritage places I've ever been. The village is beautifully kept in memory to the island's earlier settlers, although the people who staff the village make it very much alive in today's world. In particular, Junior, a Mi'kmaq elder and artisan, was exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable and explained a great deal about the Indigenous history of the island as he showed us around his beautiful birch bark wigwam. Khalid also gave us a brilliant tour of the general store, post office, and Clark's house, fully equipped with answering all our questions and a little ghost story (friendly ghosts) as well. Then, to top off the experience, Mike, the farm keeper, who also went to school in the old schoolhouse several decades ago (so cool!) took an incredible amount of time and care to show us all around the barns, forge, and fields. He even invited us in to meet their impressive turkeys, goats, lovely black faced sheep, horses, and Jersey cow, Flora. We walked away feeling as though we'd just traveled back in time and marveling at what a wonderful addition to PEI the team at Orwell has created. Don't miss it!
Very disappointing experience. Orwell Corner Historic Village had almost nothing to see or do. Most of the buildings looked abandoned and poorly maintained. There was only 1 sheep, 2 lambs, 4 chickens, and a few cows — absolutely no interaction or activities, despite what the name and ticket price suggest. We paid $27.60 for two adults, and it felt like a complete waste of time and money. Definitely not worth visiting — I do not recommend it.
We visited Orwell Old Village as a family of 4 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 and paid $34.50 💵 — totally worth it! We spent around 2.5 hours ⏳ exploring, and it honestly felt like stepping back in time 🕰️. The village has so much to see: a beautiful church ⛪, an old-fashioned school 🏫, a shop 🛍️, a family house 🏡, and even a barn 🐄. What really stood out were the workshops — a wood shop 🪚 and a metal shop ⚒️ — which gave us a real sense of how people lived and worked back then. It was fun, educational 📚, and a great experience for the whole family ❤️. Highly recommend if you want something unique and meaningful to do 👍✨.
Yes, absolutely worth a visit if you enjoy history and related culture. This gem is actual land and buildings with exception of one new rebuild from a fire. Beautiful. Fanatic self guided walk and then the staff, narrators who are dressed in the rgalia to support at key locations. We particularly enjoyed the store with items that were readily available and for sale at time inclusive of medicine such as opium, cocaine etc. Very fascinating.
They advertise a horse and buggy ride, which is what my little girl was looking forward to the most. We called the day before and were told they do two - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They even went so far as to say the time (around 11am and around 1pm). When we showed up the next day, paid, and were touring around the little village we were told no horse and buggy ride was happening that day as they only offer it when there are ‘large crowds’. It was a disappointing experience and wish we were advised this the day before when we called.
It was a beautiful summer day. I was leading a tour of a couple from Texas. We had toured the Greenich Trail of the National Park and visited Anne. This was their last day for this trip on the Island. It was a wonderful experience from the Black Smith to the museum, and meeting many of the actors on site. Such a way to understand the struggles as well as the joys of our ancestors. This is a favorite location of mine, and I highly recommend it. Live animals, forge and active kitchen. On Wednesdays this year, a Caleigh with lively and talented local artists. All this is not to be missed on your travel to the Ile of Prince Edward.
We had a great time seeing all the history and walking around. There's a lot to see and read, it is so interesting that everything is original or from the time period. Staff were kind and knowledgeable.
Really great experience. Museum boards tell a story from testimonials of local farmers telling a really cool story about agriculture on the island without information overloading. Staff were very knowledgeable and there were even a few demos. Really cool stop if you’re interested in local history.

Lovely old farm restored as museum. Nice simple local food like what was common 100 years ago. Home cooked. Great place.
A great little home to visit. Less famous than Green Gables but gracious grounds and friendly staff to show you around. Great story of a family that supported the island economy. Didn't get a chance to try lunch but we bought some of the home made jams and preserves. The gardens grow native plant species from PEI. A nice relaxing visit for the family.
Great place to walk by yourself or others. A small well maintained forest and the well maintained historical homestead of Sir Andrew MacPhail.
Great place with lots of history. Lunch in historic old porch is simple with local foods. Nursery near by is a great place to buy plants native to PEI. Like Wild Raisin which we have next to the deck on our house in Rustico. Simple and with an old time feel
Great little spot. You pay by donation and you can get a tour guide if you'd like. They do have a cafe that you can eat at in the house ( we had already eaten but the food look simple but yummy ) recommend to bring cash to pay for a tour . They also have walking trails .
Very nice setting. They have events throughout the summer and fall. Old rural PEI farm home set up as Museum. You can get meals or formal tea service there. Produce from their garden it used in the meals. Check times that they open before going.
Beautiful and peaceful and friendly. Home cooked simple lunch. We loved getting to go back in time and the historical tour. A breath of fresh air from the hurried pace of daily life. Grateful for our lovely afternoon.
July 30, 2022 meal at the homestead. We had an absolute wonderful time; great food, exceptionally efficient and friendly service. Enjoyed the tour of the property as well. Highly recommended!!!
