First Sunday of the month every museum in Quebec are free. We went there and loved it ! We got a guided tour outside to talk about the medicinal properties of the plants and different uses for the natives. Enlightening and there is also a book available for purchase that sums up everything from the tour. The interior of the museum has kid friendly interactive areas and audio testimonies of some native ways such as preparing pelts, food, working the bones to create tools, beaver hunting, etc... Very well kept, clean and staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. Plan about 1-2h depending if you take the exterior tour.
Excellent experience there. The tour guides were helpful, knowledgeable, and from the community. A must visit if you are in the area.
+: tickets are available for 48 hours +: Marco's the best guide ever, we learned so much Very interesting museum to discover the Ilnu culture. The museum is very interactive and playful, even the kids would love it. There's also an outside exhibition, which is guided. Not that expensive for the experience.
The museum is wonderful. I am so used to Indigenous museums being created by white people ABOUT the First Nations experiences (or as they perceive them to be). Well, this is not one of those places. From the staff at the shop, to the exhibits, this is clearly a museum about the Mashteuiatsh people by the Mashteuiatsh people and their collaborations with other nations. Their narrative. Their perspective. And they shared it with me. I thank them for it.
Really cool pace. Well worth the visit. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Most exhibits in French only; not much to learn if you don’t understand French. A movie that went on forever…. about living in winter, could have summarized it in 10 minutes, but went much longer. Attraction was uninspiring and expensive. $18 CAD Lac St Jean scenery is lovely, attractions uninspiring or cheesy
Beautiful museum, very informative and interesting, its big enough for the kids to keep interest in learning about the culture, the art displayed was amazing. I also I loved the activities they have for the kids, yes is $12 extra to the entrance fee , but totally worth ❤️. Kids loved it plus its a souvenir. Totally recommend it
We have been welcomed by an amazing staff that were dedicated to the history & culture of the locals. Along to different stories and videos, you will be transported to the past with different exhibitions of things that were used everyday. If you enjoy learning about different cultures, this one is a must. Enjoy your visit!

Wonderful site on lakeshore, open, friendly, meticulously kept. Great meeting and learning spot.
I ♥️ this place. The Innu Peoples call it "Beau Grand Lac!" So true 💞
(Translated by Google) A great experience to live, the guided tour tells a beautiful story of this life of yesteryear. The bistro also offers good meals, too bad it closes at 3 p.m. The most? Access to the marvelous Ouiatchouan Falls, with stairs (764 steps) or cable car. All included with the site visit ticket!

He advised us on where to fish, where to park, etc. The site is well located with ample parking. There is all the necessary information on site whether on paper or from the staff on site. It makes you want to know a little more about the community! (Original) Bien que nous y sommes allé pour pêcher, nous avons rencontrer un jeune homme sur place qui nous a renseigné et servi avec le sourire et entrain.
