Melmerby Beach is a stunning beach with gorgeous views. In the off season it’s tranquil and a great place to find sand dollars, ocean glass, sea shells and incredible rocks. During high season, Memerby beach is a bustling hub for locals and tourists alike with washrooms, outdoor shower and change areas. It’s a must visit when you’re in the area.
Beautiful beach. Warm water, clean sand. There is a public washroom and a stand that sells snacks. Also free parking. The boardwalks takes you directly to the beach. There are also lifeguards on duty.
Beautiful provincial park with sandy beach and beautiful dunes which also shelter an inlet. The beach is actually a long peninsula sand bar. There are three parking area with beach access plus washrooms and change areas as well as a spot to wash sand from feet. There is also a wheel chair accessible mat for the water but the shifting sands can push sand into the wooden board walk and out from the sides of the accessible mat system. Swimming, sunset watching and bird watching on the shore side are all perfect activities for this locale. It’s a favourite spot for locals and the larger communities nearby.
This beach is awesome! it is equipped with change rooms and washrooms, is accessible for people that have mobility issues and has life guards on duty. It has an area for dogs if you want to take your pet or if you're travelling with your furry friends and it's clearly outlined where you can go with them. They have added a snack stand that also does rentals for peddle boats, kayaks etc which is nice. The beach is rocky so bring water shoes if you're not used to this. Overall, a clean, beautiful beach!
I had a terrific time at Melmerby!!! My son really loved it to!! We went during the hotter days of summer and there were 3 life guards on duty. That was amazing since my son is only 6. We had lots of fun running up and down the beach... stepping our toes into the water and playing and having a fun time! This is my all time favourite beach!!
My favorite Beach in Nova Scotia other than the town of pugwash where I spent Summers on the beach, the beach the water is always pretty warm and the easy access from the parking lot to the beach as opposed to rushton's where you have to walk and walk and walk. And then if you got to use the bathroom you got to walk and walk and walk. This beach is excellent for anybody who's disabled. They have the mats down and a little picnic table and those wheelchair Beach wheelchairs with big wheels on them that you can roll your disabled friend or family member out into the beach and even into the water
Beautiful warm water beach, lots of people but the beach is huge enough to support the amount of people flocking to the water on a very hot summer day. Enjoyed playing in the waves
Close easy drive to a nice open beach for the whole family to enjoy. It has a wheel mat for an easy walk down to the waters edge.

A lovely park that has it all, it can be a small hike to the beach depending on which path you choose. Fantastic picnic areas with covered tables and large green spaces make this park a destination on a sunny day!
Very nice park. Lots of areas to park with some picnic tables available. Some garbage bins to use. Includes James look off which has a bench to sit and view a nice scenic area. Just watch out for the dog messes and some unsightly garbage. Seen quite a few things not cleaned up. Had to switch, move spots after arriving.
This is a beautifully kept spot, great for mussel gathering, oysters, clams, etc, but not great for swimming. High tide it can be done, low tide I slipped on a bed of mussels and cut my legs and arms to ribbons on a bed of clams. My own fault, but thought I might be able to spare someone else that experience.
Excellent place for Stand up paddle boarding (SUP). Had a great beach, very peaceful.
Beautiful views all year round.
This is a little known and used provincial day park. It has easily accessible green picnicking spaces (via direct access with vehicle) as well as a short shoreline / woodland trail that is easily hikeable...good trail for kids and dogs, and anyone looking for a short, leisurely stroll. The shoreline scenery is fantastic with panoramic views of the Northumberland coast. There is a small stretch of sandy beach which is directly accessible by vehicle with adjoining picnic areas. There are a couple of outhouses in the park. Overall, if you are looking for a quieter shoreline/ woodland picnic park or for cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter- this is the spot for you.
Beautiful park. Lots of picnic areas, washrooms, walking trails, beautiful beaches to explore. Lovely.
Great provincial park. Plenty of green space. Water views and walking trails. Also swimming and picking area.. very clean and well kept.
