Just as a follow-up to the post from @JamesBush, the lighthouse was sold to a private individual in 2018. To my knowledge, there is no intent to open the building to the public as the individual is not a current resident of the area. As a former resident of Isaac's Harbour, this is by far my favourite site. Yes, it's better than "the falls" on the river or the corner or even the fitness centre. If you are adventurous, you can make it done on the shoreline which is completely unspoiled, rugged and very rewarding. Take in the fresh smell of the ocean and listen to the waves crashing on the rocking rock shores. It's a sensory experience which I cannot wait to enjoy when Nova Scotia welcomes guests from outside of the Province (and the Atlantic Bubble).
The road to the lighthouse is gated so I parked in the turnaround. The gate was actually open, but I fancied a walk. You follow the road and bear left. The lighthouse is empty but nice to look at. The coastal view nearby is nice.
This lighthouse is still standing and available to view from outside if you’re willing to travel down a road that initially appears closed to vehicular traffic. The gate is closed but not locked. The view is grown in, but you can see some of the bay and ocean from a raised platform.
It's a short hike to the lighthouse as a road is closed off at this time due to renovations. It looks like it may be a historical visitor's sight for tourist when it's completed. Beautiful view. Will post photos soon.
