Amazing raclette cheeses and some specialty foods, mostly sweet treats. Friendly and helpful staff, even for English speakers.
Fromagerie Fritz Kaiser in Noyan is a must-stop for cheese lovers. Famous for introducing Raclette cheese to Quebec, this fromagerie has built a stellar reputation over the years for both quality and variety. It is now recognized as the 5th largest cheese producer in Quebec, which speaks to its importance on the provincial food scene. Their selection is impressive — from Raclette and Brie to more distinctive specialty cheeses — all crafted with care and rich flavor. They also produce a range of goat’s milk cheeses, a perfect option for those who are lactose intolerant. On our last visit, we stopped in before heading out for a picnic and picked up a few choices — two soft cheeses, one medium, and one extra-old strong cheese (for me). We also purchased a fresh loaf of bread, some imported pickles, and other delicacies. The picnic turned out wonderfully, and it was the perfect way to enjoy the products right away. Among the cheeses, some standouts for us include the Brie-style Ash Island, beautifully creamy; the aged Douanier, with its deep, complex flavor; and for my wife, the Tome du Haut Richelieu and the Mancha, which comes packaged as a charming small wheel. The staff are always friendly and helpful, ready to guide you toward the best selections. We particularly enjoy the Raclette, which melts beautifully and has become a family tradition. The boutique also offers a nice selection of local and imported gourmet items to pair with the cheeses. Well worth the drive out to Noyan — a true Quebec cheese institution.
Great cheese and selection with decent prices. She recommended the two best sellers since I was overwhelmed by the choice. Nice place to go when driving in the country. They have nice bread and a picnic table outside as well.
Best cheese ever. Prices are worth the drive.
Yoy could find really high quality cheese here with reasonable price! Staff are very friendly and they help you to choose the best cheese for your taste.
We stopped by on our way to the Circuit du Paysan bike trail for a quick breakfast. Perfect place to sit outside and savour their fine cheeses along with fresh croissants sold on site, all complemented with a view of the fields.
This is one of my favorite cheese producers in the world. Their raclette cheese is better than award winning raclette cheese I've tasted in Europe. Prices are slightly lower than what you would pay in a grocery shop or cheese specialist but it is worth it. My favorites are the raclette cheeses but the Saint Paulin makes a fine sandwich.
We enjoyed our visit. We walked out with cheese, jam, and a locally made pie.
