My sister in law Jean and I had a wonderful time here. It was so much. Thank you Margaret for being patient with me. Jean finished hers. Looks beautiful. She will help me if I have trouble. It was a beautiful little shop.
A wonderfully talented Margaret can teach people like me how to knit! Lol. The loom knitting seminar that I went to was very interesting and I caught on so quickly and couldn't believe how easy it was! She is so helpful and always a pleasure to chat with!
Lovely little yarn shop! The owner was so lovely and helped me choose some great yarn that I'm excited to use. Will definitely be back the next time I am on the island!
WOW. Margaret was a FIND! Trust your instincts and turn in to find a trove of PEI history & a loom knitting lesson and leave with a completed cowl. Lovely local skeins of wool. Margaret is the knitters guru. Lovely find.
Recommended! This is excellent place to find a special "souvenir" yarn or notion, or for non-knitting visitors to get help choosing a gift for the knitter back home. We had a spontaneous and quick visit on a very rainy day. The owner was a delight to talk to, and very knowledgeable about every product in the shop, many of which we wouldn't find anywhere else. Hopefully we will get another chance to stop in, or even to participate in one of the workshop experiences.
Knit Pickers is a great place and its proprietor, Margaret McEachern, is a very talented and unique individual. On a recent trip to PEI, my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the loom knitting class we signed up for prior to the trip. Each class member received a handmade wooden loom to take home for more projects and very good instruction. Throw in homemade goodies and lots of anecdotes as well as beautiful items in the tiny shop, and you have a recipe for a memorable day. Add-ons to the class included a discounted lunch at a lovely restaurant and a visit to a nearby farm to see some of the sheep who might have contributed to the wools we used in class and taste their unique cheeses and yogurt made from sheep's milk. If I make it back to PEI, I can promised that one of my first stops will be at Knit Pickers!!
I was able to visit this wonderful quint shop in PEI this past summer. The owner is so informative and lovely, I could have spent the day there! I have also purchased from her online store and the service was fantastic. She has also answered any questions I have had concerning the product or how to knit something. A definite stop on anyone's PEI adventure, even if you don't knit she has some adorable island made items!
I had a wonderful time with Looms, Lambs and Lobsters with Margaret. The day was a good value and I learned so much --- She is so patient and easy to talk with. I felt like I was spending the day with an old friend and was able to finish my beautiful scarf in only a couple of hours at home. THANKS!
