There are enough trails to spread the massive amount of people going there to see the Fall colors. We did the Intrepide trail to go up, that has some rocky scrambling to do. It's challenging, fun and straight to the summit. On the way down, there are many other friendly options that are longer and easier. All the trails are still maintained very natural and narrow, which makes the hike much more enjoyable.
Many trails, If you don't have a lot of timethe fastest/most difficult trail takes a little more than an hour to get to the top at a good pace, Otherwise many more routes leads to the top.
Mont Ham is a great place for everyone, from the most experienced hikers to families looking to enjoy some camping. The facilities are modest, but well maintained and clean. The hiking trails are well traveled, and also have good signing so its almost impossible to get off trail. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed the hiking. The village itself is so quiet, surrounded with nature. We be back for autumn
Great hike, a bit hard in certain spots but the view was definitely worth it! We followed the Button (3) and then Les Lègendes (6) to the top, had a good rest and then came down on the Panoramique (7) Note that on the (6) you will need to climb a bit and there are some ropes to help. Overall, we really enjoyed the hike and the 360 view on top (even though a bit hazy) was breathtaking!
Ive been in the summer, a truly wondrous experience. just enough breeze and shade from the trees. The view from the top is worth it! I went again in November it was snowy, slipperg and muddy, i recommend going when it is warmer! both times i took the button trail to go up and panoramic to descend. 9$ entry per person, free parking, wonderful views;) Bring snacks!
I took the Panoramique trail up and the Button trail down, but if you want a quicker climb, you can take the Intrepid trail to go up. There were a lot of rocks and roots, and it is a 300+m climb. It gets steep at some places, so I would not recommend for a leisure walk, but the view at the top is 360 and beautiful. I would rate this hike a intermediary and at some parts hard.
Absolutely incredible views if you can make it to the top. Medium-difficulty for the intrépid trail (only that and the panoramique trails were open today due to weather maybe?). It was a rainy day, slippery stones and a few sections where you use a rope to climb up! Good rope. Strong rope. First time I'd done that but it was super exhilarating and satisfying to complete. Took a bit under two hours for two not super fit hikers lol to get to the top with a few breaks. Make sure to bring a snack! 1h30 to get down panoramique.
