Fortress

A beautiful fortress of the spanish colonial epoque, The Fortress of San Cristóbal is in the city of Gracias, Lempira; Honduras. The site is small but has a 360° view of all the town, where you can see all the heritage architecture around, is very easy to access and the cost is very accesible to the public, kids under 10 y/o does not pay entry, when you get inside the site you will found with some sculptures outside and some military artefacts of the time, some story is shown inside were they tell all history of the site and the city, is a heritage architecture building of Honduras so if you like history and architecture you will love it, you can take amazing photos up there. 100% recomended.
This site used to be free of charge but now charges 60L (internat. tourists), but it's not really clear what you're paying for. It's a fort and you have some nice views over the city. There's a (very limited) fixed art exhibition. But nothing else. There's construction going on and maybe this will add value in the future. But now we just got charged for nothing much really.
Like many tourist attractions in Honduras, it‘s mainly used for young local lovers, who‘s looking for some privacy 🙂.
Short and easy walk from the center of Gracias. You can see the scenery but it's not fabilous. Still you want to get here because there isn't much to see in Gracias. Foreigners entrance fee is Lps. 60.
Great touristic experience! The fort is located at the feet of Mountain Celaque, Honduras' tallest peak. The fort has the remains of a former president, and lodges a museum and an artistic collection. Recommended!
Awesome view of Gracias park. You can see Celaque National Park from here too, there is a lot of history to learn here.
An excellent place to visit, full of history and nice people.
Beautiful place to visit, just don't use the restrooms it's unsanitary

An amazing National Park with the highest mountain of Honduras. Not easy to reach without a car, but tuctucs go to the entrance. From there, it is a 45min walk to the visitors center.
Not an easy hike especially the northern route, better take the southern route to reach the top. Very clean and naturally preserved national Park
I went here around 2 years ago, beautiful, just beautiful! Anyone knows if it's pet friendly (dog)? (Edited July/2019) is not allowed to take pets Anyway, still my favorite place to hike in Honduras L 40 per person for the 2000 m (~4 hr) This time I was able to see a bird
Great place for watching sunsets or sunrise! Recommended if you like hiking.
One of the best experiences in my life. The park includes the guide, and the tents. You just need to have the attitude
Very gorgeous park. While you can summit to the top of the mountain, I wasn't able to. My friends have and it's a fun experience. Down near the entrance is a beautiful bird lookout. The river runs through the park as well. I will return next time I'm in the area.
Is a National Park in Gracias, Lempira, Honduras. Celaque is high in biodiversity and is home to a large variety of flora and fauna

I try to zip line in every country that I visit and this was my best zip line experience so far!!! Partially because I did not have to hike to the top(would’ve take several hours) but more for the experience views from 380-meters above the canyon at its highest point. Would HIGHLY recommend .
It’s the highest zip lines in central America it’s 6 of them starting with the highest and coming down. It was a about 40 minutes on dirt road from Gracias Lempira but they were working at paving the road so should be better soon.
Amazing jaw dropping canopy high in the mountains, overlooking the beautiful town of La Campa
Its an amazing adventure, so exciting, ideal to repeat again and again :-D
A one of a kind experience, with the most jaw dropping sceneries and exceptional tour guides.
We arrived at La Campa by bus and were brought to the location without any information („Canopy? Vamos!“). Everything was stressed. No explanation. We asked for security instructions in english for better understanding as we only speak little spanish but the guys would not speak a word. Another guest had to translate a form which was written in spanish which apparently would speak the business free of guilt in case of accidents. Security instructions were in spanish only so we would understand only half. So signing the form without appropiate instructions was not within our liking. Additionally, a provided baño was miserable. I would not even call it baño thats how disgusting it was. Despite this lack of service we would have been charged half the price extra because we are white. I would call this racism. We clearly stated that we are not happy with all these events but still staff did not care and just went on with normal business. This business btw was managed in a fashion that you could think that the staff want to get rid of the clients as soon as possible to get lunch. Interestingly, this was proven true as we saw the staff just 15 minutes after the first clients left in the local comedor. I cannot recommend this business. Its only money making. Besides it only takes 5 minutes for doing the zip lines.
Beautiful place to visit in Honduras full of adventure and adrenaline, affordable if you're under a budget.
Such a great experience. Quite a view and scenery.

The most delicious place to stop in Gracias for a popsicle or to try any of the canned sauces. The store is beautiful and the owner is so kind!
You cant access the store, you have to buy from the outside so you cant actually appreciate the products.
Great place to find tradicional and fusion flavors. The best sweets and popsicles of Honduras and best of all... super cheap!!! Dont miss it!!
Everything was so good. I highly recommend to buy sweets when you have a chance
It's an interesting place with a big variety of candies, ice cream and other delicious and tipical food
Amazing variety of sweets, preserves, jams, popsicles.
Mango verde popsicle is the best

Very nice, I liked it :D
The coffees & pastries were good!
(Translated by Google) Hearty restaurant with very good coffee but the service is not particularly customer-oriented. Two Swiss 🇨🇭 tourists with a motorhome PS: This is the second time we've been here because the coffee actually tastes very good👍👍 But the service is for customers who want to visit this coffee shop below everyone 👎👎👎👎 We were here for the third time now. This time the service was perfect 👍👍👍👍👍 (Original) Herziges Restaurant mit einem sehr guten Kaffee aber der Service ist nicht gerade sehr Kunden orientiert. (Translated by Google) I loved everything about this place, to begin with the place is beautiful, very central with a direct view of one of the churches or just being outside with all the plants is nice. The food was very good, we liked the coffee and desserts so much that we returned the next day. The prices are good too. Finally, the service was excellent, they even recommended places to visit, the girl (sorry, I don't know her name) who helped us made us feel welcome.
