Highly recommend this place if you love turtles! Lots can be learned about the different turtles that frequent reunion island in the guided tours. Around 30 sea turtles are rescued each year by this organization. They have a partnership with fishermen who fish close to Madagascar and accidentally injure sea turtles with their line hooks. This place also displays the amount of pollution in plastic that is collected from sea turtles mistaking plastic for food. It is a reminder that we should be mindful and try to preserve the beauty of nature.
Great place to visit. The centre seems to do amazing work to support turtles. Great exhibitions and viewing areas. Really enjoyed my time here, although some more info in English would have been helpful. Suggest 90 minutes for a visit.
This was a highlight, such a lovely center with lots of interesting information and details about the turtles. We spent 3 hours here and could have stayed longer. Great activity for the whole family. Loved it 🙏🏼
This was such a great experience and it costs very little for what you get! You can learn about the turtles, plastic ocean pollution, and see what they do at this centre for the injured turtles. You can also see the actual turtles that are currently recovering, other fish in their pools and some other animals on their grounds. They do an awesome job and really help the wildlife. A humbling experience and you really see the bad impact we have on the environment and animals. Loved it! There is free parking nearby.
I like how they take care of the sea turtles who need it, clean environment, signs everywhere so you can find your way around, beautiful expositions and exhibitions, for children as well as puzzles and games. They also have tortoises here. No mistake for me and I recommend visiting under any conditions.
A really interesting place where you can see beautiful turtles and learn interesting things about them. You can contemplate them from up close and from above with a beautiful panoramic view. It is a beautiful mission that they intend to achieve by saving these beautiful creatures. They propose awareness games for children and adults against the plastic waste that hurts turtles so much. #happyTurtles
We came here on a Saturday, which means it was quite full and parking was quite full. Nevertheless, we spent 8 Euro per person for the tickets and were given an English flyer with some info and a map. The signs inside were partially also in English, some only in French. It is great to learn about the rescue efforts and we were happy that our tickets and merch sales contributed to them. Highly recommended to make a quick 60-90min stop here.
I love the mission of this place. We enjoyed our family’s visit today, but left feeling sad at the plight of turtles and how negatively human activities are affecting them. The creatures we saw here seemed really well cared for, and the facilities were all in excellent condition. As others have said, it would be nice if there was more English available alongside the French inside. Also, parking was really tricky, as it was very busy today. I’m not sure why the parking lot is a dead end; it’s a poor design for such a popular place.

(Translated by Google) As always, a mandatory stop at the blower 👍🇷🇪🇷🇪, an emblematic corner of the west coast, the parking lot is easily accessible from St Leu. Otherwise, you will have to turn around 1 to 2 km further. The continuous line does not allow you to turn directly if you are going the other way. So don't hesitate to stroll and settle down to the wind and the waves... Then the sound of the blower will remind you of the raw force of the wave channeled into the rocks. Whether it's a clear day or not, the blower blows gently or spits high into the sky...

An interesting history of how sugarcane was introduced and grown to production in reunion island. Located in an old and real sugarcane factory. Lots of explanation and steps of production for sugar, rhum, and history of the people who helped produce them. A recommendation to the museum is to label the description panels numerically to help visitors follow the intended chronological narrative. There’s also a shop at the exit where various souvenirs, sweets, rhum and sugar are sold.
Brilliant museum of the sugar industry in Reunion in an old sugar factory. Engaging, informative exhibits, friendly staff, impressive original machinery inside, and a small cafe with stunning views of the ocean. Highly recommended.
Beautiful museum, very well done. Explains all about the history of the island, the local labourer and the exports. You could really feel that this history is still very close to Reunion. I would really recommend this place.
An old sugar factory turned into a museum, displaying exhibitions on both the history of the sugar industry as well as the history of human settlement on the island. Well worth a visit. Expect an hour and a half to go through all the displays.
Old sugary factory turned into a museum. They have permanent and temporary exhibits covering everything from the history of sugar cane on the island and its uses to the history of people on the island, its different cultures etc. Highly recommended! The gift shop is also really nice.
Very nice exposition and cinéma 4D is a great finish. Each steps of the process are explained in detailed with English translation only for the permanent exposition. Temporary expo is only in french. Only 1 toilet on site, difficult to access during the visit. Visit is also quite long (2h +) without AC and there is no water fountain available so bring your own bottle. The boutique at the end has a nice selection.
Really interesting. Brings a lot of value and understanding of island history and importance of sugar cane for Reunion. I really recommend to visit this place while being on Réunion island. In museum there is shop in which you can buy Stella Matutina rum and sugar.
Great museum throughout. It was built inside a former cane sugar factory and explain a lot about the manufacturing of the sugar. It has explanations in both Franch and English. The machines used for the production are still there and help you understand how this happens. There is also a wonderful exhibition with the pictures of all the workers made by Yann Artus-Bertrand, as well as a small 4D cinema that worth a stop. Worth to go there.

Must visit on the island 🥥 First of all, it's a really nice educational centre with plenty of plants and trees, which let you learn more about the islands flora. I've never seen how pomelo, mango, longan, cinnamon, clove, vanilla and other plants grow. Now I do 😍 Secondly, it's suitable for kids, as an adult I had fun wandering around, can only imagine what a treasure it must be for kids. Thirdly, it has amazing workshops. Unfortunately, we came too late, when they were done, but you can plan your visit in advance. And finally, what a friendly staff working there! Everyone was truly amazing from the tickets sales point to every single corner of the area. Thank you, we enjoyed this experience a lot 🤗
This was a hidden little gem of a spot. My favourite spot was the section of the garden where we could smell all the plants. I had never seen a cinnamon tree or a clove tree or an all spice tree. I was in heaven smelling these plants. Such a unique experience! We had coconut ice cream and these deep friend coconut balls that were super tasty. The gift shop had a lot of adorable coconut souvenirs and sweets. Well worth going to just to see the flora. We missed the workshop sadly as there was only one on that day but apparently it would have been great to see. The birds were cute. The roosters kept having to tell us that they were roosters the whole time we were there. There were quite a few chickens and peacocks a couple of pheasants and finches.
You need at least 3 hours to walk through the garden. There are animals, tropical trees, bar, shops... You can go to workshop, which is usually in French, but sometimes in English (check website).
What an amazing experience we had! YOU NEED TO BUY TICKETS ONLINE. We passed 2 hours with Jimmy F. explaining us how to open a coconut, how to grate it, how to make oil-milk-flour-sugar from it and its leaves. All the story around this juicy fruit was incredibly interesting and the tasting experience in the process was keeping our attention high. The location was like a little paradise, very well organised and the staff was very gentle and friendly. There are toilets and open sinks where you can go and refresh yourself. There is a small restaurant. Interesting during that day there was a birthday party and a baptism party, so nice to be able to celebrate in such idyllic place! There are 2 boutiques too, unfortunately they were closed when we finished the tour. There is also a botanical garden, some animals to see with your kids. Parking available and free of charge.
We attended in advance reserved English workshop and we definitely enjoyed it! Ivan told us a lot of new information about coconuts during a 1,5 h practical session. We made some fish from palm leaves and baked our own mini coconut cake. Ivan is very kind and funny, always ready to answer our questions. Would recommend it!
Its basicqlly a botanique garden with the main focus on the coconut. Beautiful environment. With the lots of shadow under the trees quite refreshing experience in a hot day. At the bar u can try coconut themed local dishes, which were excellent. The coconutwater was however pretty overpriced. There are also guided tours about how coconut is processed, unfortunately english tours are not availabe every day.
GREAT FUN! Our guide was Michael, the Pirate. What a character!! Spoke goodish English. Made the presentation interesting and informative. The men all took turns peeling a coco and everyone pitched in to weave fishes out of the leaves, with limited success and loads of input from Michael. When it came to the water/milk extraction part, he was not shy in sharing the fruits of our labour with us. Combined with rum it turned into0 quite a party! The gardens are beautiful, sitting with a coconut drink at the cafe while haning with the resident golden retrievers and browsing through the curio shop all added to it being a great and relaxing afternoon. Don't miss this one and remember to ask for Michael:)
Not worth your time - there are better maintained gardens without the enclosed hungry animals. The tour requires a reservation days in advance - they should just add more slots. The coconut balls were okay but really nothing more interesting…

Beautiful! Lovely walk. Well sign posted, even for us English speakers. Pack mosquito spray as they start as soon as you get out your car!
The plants were great, but the descriptions of most plants were absent, leaving me wondering what I'm looking at. Certainly worth a visit though.
Beautiful botanical gardens with different sections, including a stunning succulents garden. Lots of information available about the plants. Also has a great little cafe overlooking a pond.
Beautiful botanical garden with equally spectacular views on the seaside. Most interesting visiting point.
A big botanic garden, 7 euro for adult entrance fee. If you are up to see it all might take up to 2-3 hours walk in the garden to see everything. Sadly all info was only available in french
It's a beautiful garden, but if you don't speak French, you'll just have to look around (no English information is available). Furthermore, many of the plants don't even have French descriptions.
It does’t worth to visit…I mean if you are hiking around Mafate or Cilaos etc., you can see more specious flora, than in the garden.
Love this place. Big garden with so many plants. Highly recommended! The juice is super fresh and yummy!

Amazing experience! We flew for the first time & everything went great! Started from 1500m & flew for 40-45min. The guys are really great & funny, simply lovely.
We had an amazing flight with Joelle and Guilliame. The instructions were clearly explained in English (we do not speak french). Great take off and landing. Nice long flight. We would highly recommened black air.
The lads were awesome! I would definitely recommend them.
(Translated by Google) I had an extraordinary experience with Black Air. The entire team was incredibly kind and professional, from the moment we first contacted them to the moment we landed. Not only did they organize a magnificent paragliding flight over the lagoon, but they also helped me prepare my proposal. Everything was perfectly coordinated, discreet, and attentive. Thanks to them, my proposal was an exceptional moment, full of emotion and beauty, one we will remember for the rest of our lives. The flight itself was superb: thrilling but safe, breathtaking scenery, and a reassuring and passionate pilot. A huge thank you to the entire team for their availability, attentiveness, and dedication. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to discover paragliding in ideal conditions—and even more so if you have a special project to celebrate! Tout a été parfaitement coordonné, discret et attentionné. Grâce à eux, ma demande a été un moment exceptionnel, plein d’émotion et de beauté, dont nous nous souviendrons toute notre vie. Interesting place. Museum is free, and it’s look very nice.
Visitd at a rainy day. Interested museum to visit wit free entry. Unfortunately there wasn't any physical salt seen at the outdoor pool.
Really nice museum, few steps from gorgeous beach, entry is free. Toilet with key in museum.
Went there while on the tourist trail. It's a small museum with a small film at the beginning to explain the origins history etc. I think they need all the help they can get to keep it going..I even bought some pkts of salt to take back even though I really didn't need to!! One thing I liked was the local bird/insect life etc in glass cases explaining what is what clearly...didn't have to read a thick tome to know which is what finally!
