Such an amazing place that we found completely by accident. We dropped by for a walk on a day we decided to spend in St. Pierre. The botanical garden is absolutely gorgeous, the most beautiful we've seen on the island, the people are super kind and friendly, and the coffee tasting in the cafe is a great experience well worth the time and price. Highly recommend a visit here for a relaxing walk in nature and some coffee.
Domaine du Cafe Grille is a truly delightful experience, combining lush botanical gardens with the rich history of coffee and vanilla in Reunion. The guided tours are engaging and informative, the setting is beautifully maintained, and the aromas and tastings make the visit unforgettable. A must-see gem that captures the island’s culture, nature, and flavors in the most charming way.
It was a marvelous experience, a lot more than was expected. The highlight is not just the coffee, but the botanical garden. The garden is big and there is much to see so it's a great go to, if you want to see the plants of La Réunion, or if you're a plant enthusiast. Just, get there a bit early if you want to see everything with time. I took like 2 hours and rushed the ending as it was going to close soon. I wish I was able to see a little more of the coffee part in action, and get more explanation of the process of coffee making. But there were signs to explain some of it. The ladies were really nice and welcoming and even lent me a guide book in English since my french isn't very well. She also came out of her busy work to show me the entrance of the garden and explained to me a little of what to expect. The Self tour was pleasantly worth it. I didn't spend much time at the Cafe but it was nice, spacious, and very affordable. The coffee is very cheap (2.50) compared to an espresso of Bourbon Pointu in other places (8 euros). The creole snacks were very nice as well, and they had 1 euro macarons available. If you visit, take some time to sit down and enjoy more of their refreshing drinks as well. There is also a very nice and complete gift shop where you can buy an array of La Réunion souveniers and lastly, their coffee is available for purchase, at 24 euros, but it's only 100 grams. It does come in a very interesting, traditional package however that makes it a good souvenir as well. I really enjoyed my visit overall.
Absolutely fantastic place! Such a well organised botanical garden with so many different plants and trees! So beautiful and magical. Totally worth paying a visit. The cafe that works at the place has such a unique variety of drinks. I tried the blue tea, it was so good
In fact is way more than coffee! You will find the creole garden, the spice garden, the exotic flowers garden, the exotic fruits trees garden...all in one place and on top you must taste the coffee, both of them: the bourbon pointu and the bourbon rond! Very different tastes! Great experience!
They do not use pesticides against mosquitoes because they have several varieties of geckos that would be harmed so the kind staff suggested we put on insect repellent before touring the grounds, which we did. The English book was a little confusing so we used Google translate to take pictures of the signs and listen to the translation in English. The best part for me was learning about a lot of plants that we had been seeing during our trip - especially what was poisonous! The gardens were lovely- I went back in to see the flower section again because I knew I had missed some things.
Super visit! Extremely good coffee and huge garden. The garden was very beautiful.
Fun and chill experience, the staff is very friendly, and the coffee great. You can book an auto guide (2 euros) and do the tour at your own pace, or you can book a tour with the group but you'll need to book in advance. The plants are interesting, and the descriptions are not boring. You have 2 large parkings in the domaine.

Family-owned rum distillery since 1845 offering guided history tours, tastings & a gift shop.

Bery nice execution of a museum / guided tour rum distillery. You can learn a lot about rhum, sugar cane and Réunion history. Of course there is some marketing in favour of Isautier family but that is fine.
Nice pricate museum. All about the family history all related to the Rhum industry across 180 years old. At the end of the visit you can try some Rhums. Even if it is not the original, the composition of fruit are very nice. Creativity is always welcomed.
The museum was very educational and interesting. We were able to use translation devices that translated the French into English for two euros each. Learning about how ingrained the sugar industry is in reunion island and how historically as significant things changed around the world affected how reunion ran and managed things was surprising. Especially learning about slavery (volunteer labour) and then indentured workers which didn’t surprise me. But the sugar industry still prevailed. There were so many flavoured rums and you get three tastings with your tour. I bought coconut rum. But I also bought a set of three rums coconut banana, sweet potato cake and peanut butter. There was also a sweet candy known as galabe which I was very keen to try and I bought a bag of sugar. This might seem strange but the sugar here is incredibly delicious and tastes different from other places around the world. Outside there was a food truck selling authentic creole food sweet potato chicken and bean sprouts and this very tasty sausage all with rice and beans. I also took a little video of the sugar cane growing. The sugar cane season is between July and December. The cookies are a sugar cookie made with locally grown turmeric. Very tasty.
After looking for somewhere to sample Réunion rhum, I settled on Saga du Rhum based on reviews. Easy to find. The clerk in the ticket booth spoke English and was very accommodating. The museum is very interesting and takes around 20 minutes to move through reading the English signage. Might take longer with the optional audio guide, but I didn't find it necessary. The tasting at the end was excellent. We were offered 3 rums/liqueurs to sample. The team walked us through everything that was available before we made our decisions, which gave us the time and info we needed to choose well. The caramelised mango liqueur was easily our favourite, but all 6 of our samples were delicious: 10yo rum 5yo rum Sweet potato liqueur Guava and chilli liqueur Caramelised mango liqueur Passion fruit liqueur The team informed us that the rums and liqueurs are available in the duty free shop at the airport. We will absolutely be picking some up when we depart.
I recommend it! We had a great guide (Camille). She did the Tour in English for us. Her English was excellent and she was very nice. We learned a lot of interesting facts about rhum in la réunion and the tasting at the end was the cherry on top!
Very nice visit with friendly staff. Rich in history and details about the manufacturing process. degustation at the end of the visit let you try a wide range of products if you come with a group.
Reunion is Rum. A must-do. This is a very professional operation: you get your "handy" with English as one of the options and off you go at your own pace. Loads of info boards, some actual old equipment, videos, etc. If you can't find out what you need to know about rum in Reunion here, you can't find it anywhere, There are loads of parking on site. They provide for handicapped people: wheelchairs, lifts, etc. My only issue was the tasting part. You can only taste two types of rum when there was at least 20 on offer. Really? I have no issue with paying for a tasting, preferably waived if you make a purchase or two in the shop afterwards. A bit stupid, really. We walked out with three bottles but would probably have bought more if we could have tasted a few more. This stuff is not cheap when you pay in ZAR. There obviously was the ever-present gift shop at the end of the tour. We didn't mind because we could conveniently pick up a few bottles after the tasting :)
Really nicely done, musuem. Learnt loads about rum obviously but also a great insight into the islands history.

Authentic market with a wide range of local produce and products on sale. Well worth a visit if you‘re looking for food and items produced on the Island that won‘t neccessarily be available on the supermarket shelf.
Fun place to stock up on local produce and rub shoulders with the locals. Best place to buy vegs and street food like samosas. Also good for bread and local art and craft. Few stalls with meat or fish. And the chickens were live, OMG! Only saw cash used, no cards. Parking is a nightmare, come early if you can. And don't forget bags or baskets. If you have a backpack, you are immediately labelled a tourist :) Those poor chicken in cages cost them a star, IMHO
Great place to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables and be in contact with the producers
Fantastic open air market. You can find absolutely everything from fruits, vegetables, souvenirs to live poultry. A lot of home made produces and a freak atmosphere. Definitely a must if you are in Saint Pierre on a Saturday morning
Great vibes! Good place for fruits and veggies and some handcrafted products. I always love having a fresh juice at the market. And then you can enjoy everything at the beach :)
Great atmosphere, especially during weekends when whole families enjoy the cool breeze from the ocean and dance and have a good time
The place to be on Saturdays morning in Saint Pierre: colorful, joyful, open minded. Must experience in Reunion Island!!!
This maket is open at Saturday morning. It is full with local products and food. It always a good idea to visit a market where you want to go.

since I am a devotee of Lord Maha Vishnu a friend brought me there unfortunately it was closed but I will definitely go on my next visit
When I first saw it, I thought that it was made for some kind of entertainment business. When I learnt that it was a temple for Hindus, I thought that every temple of every religion on Earth should have such an exterior. In this way, they may attract more people.
Beautiful Tamizh Temple... Keep Tamizh Culture & Tradition , 2.5 Lakhs Tamil people's have been living in Reunion island very happy to being here ...
Superb feeling in the temple. Very impressed
(Translated by Google) A beautiful Tamil temple, both inside and out. The statues of deities are impressive. For Hindus, a visit is a must. Unfortunately, tourists are only allowed to visit the temple courtyard on certain days and at certain times, while locals can enter at any time. Otherwise, tourists can view the temple from the outside.
(Translated by Google) A magnificent temple that can also be visited two days a week, provided you respect the site and the information posted on the entrance sign for tourists. You can only enter with clothing that covers you, and for women outside of their menstrual period, for example. The list is longer than that, and no photography is allowed inside the temple. I hope to visit it soon. If I can, I'll add to my review. In the meantime, I loved enjoying the outdoors and the tranquility of the place.

During my stay in Réunion, the St. Pierre Tourism Office proved indispensable, particularly with the help of Mathieu Gence. His deep knowledge of the island's best hikes and weather conditions, coupled with his exceptional English, made him an invaluable resource as I navigated the island solo, staying in Airbnbs where English was rarely spoken. Over the course of several inquiries, Mathieu consistently provided timely, thoughtful recommendations that enhanced my adventure. I later visited his office to thank him personally, and his graciousness only reinforced my positive experience. The office operates like a top-tier hotel concierge—efficient, friendly, and truly helpful.
Professional and helpful tourist information – 5 stars We had several questions for the tourist information, and they were quick to find a friendly staff member who spoke perfect English. What can we experience in Saint-Pierre, and are there good shops? We were given a detailed map where our questions were marked. In addition, a route was drawn in that took us past the city's main attractions. It was a very practical and clear solution. How can I best experience the volcano by car? Once again, we received a map where several possible routes were marked. We also got a thorough overview of our options, which made it easy to plan the trip. As an extra service, we received, without having asked for it, a map of our next destination as well as good recommendations for what we could experience there. Thank you for the great and professional service!
Wow! Excellent service with a smile. I was helped kindly in English when I was by myself. When my French-speaking boyfriend arrived, our bookings of the gîtes for hiking and bus schedules were all sorted out by friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend a visit here anytime.
Camille is really friendly and helped my husband and me to book a ULM flight. We enjoyed it a lot! We can absolutely recommend this information centre. Thank you! :-)
Wonderful experience, Very helpful staff. 😊
They're supposed to speak French, English German and Chinese here, but when we got there only one person spoke a few words English. We wanted help to arrange a tour, but they just told us to give the tour company a call and arrange it ourselves. They were absolutely useless.
Very kind staff who are helpful and gives you useful information
