Very good family experience and not far from airport, or santo domingo for those that want to venture into the city, or bring your family over.... it is a good retreat for resting, the food is dominican, and it is in the best spot in the boca chica beach.
Visited this hotel in February of 2020. It was a nightmare from hell. The reception staff said he will hold my passport until in the morning and I still to this day do not know the reason. I am still traumatized by this entire vacation experience. The place was so run down. The toilet was not working. The rooms smelt musty. Cockroaches were our roommates. Horrible experience and hotel. A few nice staff. There should be ratings under 1 star. My travel companion and the kids were so scared. Based on recent reviews, much has not changed. The discrimination in that country is so blatant every time I think about a vacation and that country comes up, I get the chills. And remember this experience. I have been to the country 3 times, so there is no need to post a bais review. The hotel is bad.
Unfortunately, not our favourite stay. The whole hotel was fairly tired. The room smelled very musty on arrival, and after we showered, there was water all over the floor throughout the room, and very I nearly slipped and fell. The staff were pleasant, and the breakfast food was nice, bit the coffee wasn’t great (instant). Sadly, wouldn’t return.
This hotel use to be our favourite. Although the view will never change as it’s amazing, the rest of it is a dump. Mind you it use to be all inclusive. Now you pay over $150us a night for absolutely nothing. Not even a coffee maker in the room. 2 bottles of water if lucky. Sorry, need to step it up a notch before my family and I stay here ever again. Very sad as like I said…. It use to be our favourite 😔
The first room we checked into had stains in the shower from aging. The second room which cost an extra 120 was much better and much better view of the pool and beach. The AC did.not work and we told them over 3 times but whatever we on an island. The food was the worst experience ever. Ate at all 3 dinning options in one night and hated all of them. We stuck with the buffet which was way better option, fresher food for sure. The employees were cool but nothing over the top. I wouldn't pay to come back but if they gave me a free weekend I'd def come back. It's a good starter for beginners in the all inclusive world.
This hotel has AMAZING potential. However, the room was VERY outdated. Paint was chipping. Very old bathroom fixtures. Needed a complete remodeling. The food choices were okay. The views, the music, the service were phenomenal. I honestly still had an AMAZING time but the hotel needs complete overhaul in regard to aesthetics.
Beautiful property in great location but it shows its age. Many hallways and fixtures in disrepair. They offer a premium dining service that is not that much different than the regular buffet. Service was below par. The room was spacious and had a great balcony overlooking the pool and beach. The seating at the beach is horrible. Not enough seating and it is taken by people from early morning by just throwing a towel on the seat. They don't show up until much later. Either add seating or do not allow people to take seats without being there. Towel service is a bit odd. They remove the dirty towels first then replace them later. If you happen to arrive to your hotel between that period you may have no towels to dry up. Good entertainment and the included drinks were great. Friendly and helpful staff. Overall a great experience and beautiful vacation.
I stayed at the hotel for a few days with my family and the Experience overall was just disappointing. The rooms are very outdated, the bathrooms had broken parts, the tv’s were horrible. The pool also looked like it was under construction. The staff at the hotel were very nice but that’s about it. Most importantly do not book any excursions with the staff at the hotel. At the beach, there were many places to book excursions, which we didn’t know until after we paid the gentleman at the hotel. The excursions we booked at the hotel were not what we expected it was horrible! I honestly don’t think I’ll ever go back.

I went there to get the open water certification. I managed to complete the course in 4 days. I was surprised that they worked even during holidays. I'm grateful to them for being flexible. Alex is a great instructor, he speaks many languages, and he is very knowledgeable. I was very happy with everything, I'll come again next year.
Such a wonderful experience taking the day class and finally getting able to finally learn how to dive and exploring another part of the earth. also very patient Teachers. I would definitely go back and go diving again. Thanks again for the experience.
Alex was so helpful from the get go. I wanted to plan my first dive in DR, and contacted the shop after reviewing options on Google. We had a lovely dive, perfect conditions. Gi was a wonderful guide. Really enjoyed the dive and my experience with the shop. We even enjoyed a lovely luncheon afterwards at a sporting club nearby and spent the afternoon at Boca Chica.
Had a phenomenal time here, 2 days of awesome diving. They have a great crew, and were very accommodating. It had been a while since my last dive, and I was a little bit nervous. They were more than happy to help with setting up my gear, and both dives went off without a hitch. Would definitely recommend!
Had an amazing day, diving with TSD. The team was super friendly and speaks multiple languages, the dives were fun, long, and very personalized since we were a small group, the dive sites are beautiful and in-between dives we came back to the shop for some coffee and tea. There is plenty of space to shower, clean your own gear etc and the rental equipment I got was in great condition. Would absolutely recommend and would totally go again.
My friend Levi and I traveled to Santo Domingo, and dove here so I could get my Advanced Open Water Certification. Alex was the best instructor! Very patient, accommodating, and just a great guy to be around. The entire staff was amazing too. I got to know/dive with another instructor, Christen, he was hilarious and personable. I’m from the states, and they went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I would recommend this place above all others, if you’re looking to dive in the Dominican! Picture is of Levi and I after I got my certification! (we’re dorks).
Most amazing first experience, highly recommend and for those who are staying longer highly recommend taking proper lessons with this centre, very professional, speaks multiple language, very well organised.
I had a great time diving here. The owner as well as the other staff are kind and professional, they have quality equipment for rent and the boat is comfortable. They made sure I saw a variety of dive sites. What pleasantly surprised me is that the dives are not time capped, the length of your dives depends on your air consumption/no deco time. I had some great long dives over beautiful corals. Recommended!

Wolfgang, Guido and Rodrigo are proper gentlemen - very friendly and professional diving experience. I did 4 dives over 2 days and got plenty of variety - a wreck dive, a wall dive and two reef dives that also had some interesting topography. These were all a short 5 min boat ride from shore and the pricing is very reasonable. Would love to go back!
We absolutely loved this place. My wife and I stayed in a neighboring town and dove here regularly for two months. All of the staff were very professional and knowledgeable. From looking up an unrecognized fish to helping make sushi out of Lionfish. I highly recommend that you dive here! We decided to get our Advanced Open Water here and had a great experience. Big thanks to Guido, Ronaldo, Ruben, Christian and Charlotte, without all of them, we could not have had the fun we had. We met lots of people there and expect to hear from many of them for years to come.
Thank you to Guido and Wolfram (aka La Bola/Tungsten Man) for a great experience and dive at the Catuan Wreck! Would highly recommend if you want a quick dive in the morning and don't want to drive all the way to bayahibe from the capital. Thank you gentlemen!
Super uncomplicated, the organisation was very easy and the dive instructor was professional. I would always dive again with Carribean Divers.
We recently completed the Open Water Advanced course at this diving school, and we were absolutely thrilled! From the very beginning, we felt like we were in the best hands. The team is extremely professional and experienced, which gave us a high level of confidence in the training. Our diving instructor was not only competent but also patient and skilled at teaching us the necessary skills. We felt safe throughout the course and were able to significantly enhance our diving abilities. The equipment provided at the diving school was in impeccable condition and meticulously maintained. The dives at various locations were breathtaking, and we had the opportunity to explore amazing underwater worlds. We are truly grateful for the incredible experience we had here and would wholeheartedly recommend this diving school without hesitation. Thank you to the entire team for the unforgettable time!
Great Dive shop! Would use again if I return.
Had a great time. Learnt a lot. Very friendly instructor and captain. They offer boat dives and even had computer for all divers
Excellent dive shop! Super professional, but also very friendly and service orientated. Al gear is well maintained, and excellent dive briefing before going out to sea. Went for two dives with them but wish it could have been more. Hope to come back some day. Only thing to note Wolfgang should work on his air consumption. ;) (Don't worry, he can last for an hour easily, it's just that I can last for two) ;)

First off I wish I read reviews before even booking. Michelle checked me in when I got there. Never explained any of the policies or the way things are done at this hotel. Was told breakfast was included which she said was from 7-10 am. Somewhat said I was lying. She never mentioned that. It took me almost 40 minutes just to get a beach towel since there was a whole process with leaving a deposit that was not explained. When checked in I reserved 2 beds I had to wait 6 hours for the second bed. Then I told them I wanted a late check out to only be locked out of my room because never told I had to go down to the lobby and pay ahead of time. The whole time we would ask why these things wasn’t explained michelle had the nerve to come at my wife like she was challenging her. It’s sad when a hotel has no customer service. The employees need more training on how to handle certain situations.
Waited 2 hours for a room. Rooms are falling apart. Mold , hinges coming off doors , and stains on furniture. Food is nothing but cheap fried options like French fries. Drinks are watered down. Hard to find a parking spot. Crowded. Only nice thing about this hotel is it's beach.
If I could rate this no stars I would. This was the worst hotel I have ever been to. The staff had no education in customer service. We booked a garden view room and they gave us a completely different room. The rooms they gave us were disgusting! The toilets were stained, the shower had no water, the AC did not work, and one room flooded! We asked the staff to help us out and change our rooms to the ones we booked or anything that was better than we got. All we got was run around they told us to come back to speak to guest services the next morning. TOMAS told us we were wrong in every thing we were saying he told us we have to understand we are in DR and that their hotel rooms were perfectly fine. He offended us plenty of times and told us to come back after 4 to get new rooms. Later that day we went back and the staff told us that our rooms were given away because we did not come at 4. So we were stuck with those rooms. I personally had to walk out in the public hallways in a towel because my room had no water. All the stuff in one room got soaked after the rain because of the horrible walls that were not fixed. We went to speak to guest services again and the staff told us there was nothing they can do and kept speaking to us in an unprofessional manner. So we stayed In the lobby until we received the help we needed. All the staff did was scream at us, call us racist and tell us they were not changing our rooms. They treated us as if we were not paying customers. WORST HOTEL EVER! THE MOTELS ARE BETTER THAN THIS HELL HOLE! DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE THE WORST OF THE WORST OF DR!
Hello everyone this is a deep dive or detailed review of this hotel; I will let you know my personal experience regarding my 3 day visit to this “resort/hotel”, I am an airline employee with 20 plus years in this industry visiting plenty of resorts throughout the world and in the Dominican Republic, if you are a fellow airline employee or tourism related employee don’t visit this place. I arrived and the employees were not all that welcoming or nice in any particular way; first thing I noticed once I got to the hotel, it’s the fact that they post beautiful photoshopped pictures when in reality the hotel is falling apart from A to Z wherever you look its pretty sad the condition its in. Lobby its not nice or neat looking a lot of broken items form chairs or furniture to windows or doors; once I made it to the hotel room anything that was supposed to be metal had RUST on it, I am talking from light fixtures to the door to the water faucet it all had RUST which if you’re like me and like cleanliness a lot, it felt pretty bad. The door main lock did not work; the door wooden frame piece fell apart almost hitting me and stabbing me with its nails. Hot water only worked in the shower when it felt like it. The king bed was very uncomfortable and the furniture in the room was used up to the level that it looked like it was from the 1970’s. You could seriously hear the air conditioning like it was in the closet that’s how loud it was and the air conditioning vent was black and rusty as well which made me and my companion had a sore throat the next day. I asked to speak with a management member and they were never available; you could let the front desk agent know all of these issues and they did not know how to answer or what to do. The room phone did not work at all. The GYM was shut down and this was the first reason why I decided to stay in this hotel, I could have stayed somewhere else where the GYM was opened and they just brushed this off, it is not in their website that the GYM is closed. If you have kids I would tell you do not go to this place as it is not safe in general when it comes to the premises and specially for young kids. The only thing I liked about the place was the access to the beach and the employees in the beach area were very nice specially the ones service drinks and food, they were extra nice and attentive in the beach area. I hope this review helps you with your decision.
This place is the worst and the customer service is even worse. The workers steal cash from your room and they give you the run around until you end up leaving without the cash they stole! It is not really all inclusive because you have to pay for everything extra except for the food which is terrible! The rooms are disgusting, the water stops working while you are showering and still floods the whole bathroom ( they changed my room twice and the same thing happened all 3x times.. You are much better off staying somewhere else that is not run down n beat up and just eating out.. absolutely my worst vacation experience of my life and I travel very often
Extremely outdated resort. The front desk staff is very ambivalent. The room smelled strongly of mold. Even the complimentary toiletries were of horrible quality. Luckily, we were there only for one night. However, they make you sign an agreement that even if you leave early, they will charge you for two nights. (I can tell you now why...this place is terrible.)
For starters the room wasn't ready when we got here we had to wait for hrs before they put us in a room. The beds are awful very uncomfortable. The pool dirty, the snack bar area dirty, the food had no taste. Most of the hotel staff are rude and disrespectful. I madea reservation for 3 and added another person when we got here JUST SO YOU KNOW that one person cost me more than what paid for the 3 I had in my reservation. I had an argument with cleaning person because she only gave us 2 towels and were 4 not 2 I guess the front desk never told them that we were 4 not 2 because we only had 2 pillows and 2 towels after calling and complaining at least 4 times someone brought us the others but really this was not the first time I've been here but it will be my last and on top of that I'm going to make sure that anyone I know comes here this place is a waste of time and how disappointing I'll give the beach a star not the hotel this place is trash.
This place is horrible. Let me explain, the shower was never hot. Can not control the temperature of the room. Cannot flush toilet paper in the toilet. The bed was terrible, to hard and the sheets were over washed as they felt rough. The construction of the room was shabby at best. The furniture was old and flimsy and not comfortable at all to sit on. The maid service was awful, we could only get 2 towles per day. Worst of all, the hotel rooms did not match the photos! The photos online were beautiful and attracted me and my fiance, however when we arrived at the hotel, there was no bell service to greet us, we had to carry our bags. The funny thing is they charge like they are a four star hotel. If this hotel costs less and only had two stars, I would have nothing to complain about, how when you charge top dollar and the hotel contains all the problems I mentioned, then there is a problem! I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!

Great dive center. If you stay next door at Club Rolling Stone you basically step out of bed into the boat.. Christian is a great dive master. Made my 10 year old daughter so comfortable on her first dives.
My Husband and 2 boys ages 11 & 13 went diving with David and Christian in Boca Chica. It was an amazing experience, David and Christian were very professional and patient with the kids. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and safety.
I´m a rookie with no much experience, just been diving in Santa Marta, and San Andres (Colombia) a couple of times. But I had an excellent diving experience with Olga and Cris, they are very friendly, reassuring and they really care about your security, I definitely recommend them.
Stephan and team are really great. The first day they took us to the wreck for diving, and then the reef for the second dive. Christian the dive master was incredible! We saw rays, lion fish, parrot fish, and so much more. The visibility was also amazing! The second day we went to the caves! The first dive was into three chambers with air pockets and the second dive was through a cline! Both dives were incredible!!! We also wanted to do a night dive but because of the winds it wasn't possible. Safety first! Stephan also recommended lots of things for us to do in Boca Chica, he is an amazing host!
I have to agree with Mark's review - Bob and his team are outstanding and I can't imagine diving with anyone else in the Dominican Republic.
This place is top notch. David and Christian are super nice guys. Couldn't ask for a better place to dive while on vacation.
