This is a once in a lifetime experience! Our guide, Keishya, was incredibly knowledgeable about the island’s history and the lives of the monkeys that live there. She is diligent about safety and making sure all participants felt comfortable ocean kayaking (it was our first time). If you’re lucky enough to get a booking with Keishya, do not hesitate!
I wish I could give them more than five stars. What an amazing experience from start to finish. I have done many adventures and tours. I have even been a tour guide myself in multiple facets. This experience topped them all!!! Want to observe monkeys from a safe distance? Want to have amazing views along the way of Vieques, Humacao, Punta Santiago and the windmill farm? Want to do it with the most experienced and well versed person in this area that I ever had the pleasure of encountering? Then quit reading my post and give them a call :)! Best decision I ever made for a tour. The knowledge and insight you will gain while also feeling safe and getting to observe monkeys in their natural habitat. I don’t know what more you could ask for. I rarellyyy right reviews but I was so impressed with this tour that I wanted to let everyone know how truly amazing it is.
Oh what an AMAZING kayaking tour of Monkey Island led by Keishya! I’ve lived in Puerto Rico for almost four years and this adventure is definitely in my top ten! We got to observe tribes of monkeys in their “natural” habitat - a surreal other worldly experience. Nothing like seeing the beauty of Puerto Rico while sitting atop the water. Keishya is a wonderful guide, she has high vibe energy and passion that is contagious. I highly recommend Keishya’s tour to locals and visitors of our enchanted island! 5 plus stars!
Such a unique experience in Puerto Rico and a great way to see something off the beaten path. Keishya was awesome - super responsive, on time, organized, and had everything we could possibly need in terms of gear for the adventure (water shoes, dry bags, you name it!). She was a great guide and provided a brief history of monkey island while also making sure to keep the tour at a gentle pace we could keep up with (we hadn't been in a kayak for maybe 7 years!). We couldn't have asked for a better experience, this was one of the coolest, most unexpected finds. I appreciated Keishya's respect for the wildlife and protected areas, and the lengths she went to to make sure that the monkeys remained undisturbed while we had an amazing view from a safe distance. Thank you, Keishya!
Keishya was a great tour guide. We saw tons of monkeys. Paddling was not hard, and there were some nice float times. Note: Weather plays a big part in this tour. It's best to book early in your trip with flexibility to switch days if the weather isn't cooperating. Keishya is very safety conscious, and after doing the tour, I can appreciate why. Our day the sea was fairly flat when we went out in the morning. About an hour after we got back, the wind kicked up, and the sea got roughly quick. Be sure to put sunscreen on the front of your legs.
Perfect adventure if you’re looking for something different. Keishya is the best guide, her energy, respect, love and wisdom towards nature is a gift. Kayaks and life vests are in great condition, dry bags are a great added bonus, lots of great information about the monkey island history is provided. If you got a long lens camera bring it because it will guarantee the best pictures. Keishya will guide you thru every step so even if you’re a beginner you’ll be safe as long as you follow directions. Overall great experience, i’d gladly do it again!
We had an incredible time with Keishya on an afternoon tour of Monkey Island with our friends. She was very informative about the island and patient with our lack of kayaking experience. We saw many monkeys and a few large iguanas. We did not find paddling to the island difficult, once we arrived we were able to get out and relax in the water off shore the island with excellent views of lots of monkeys. She was very Covid conscious and kept her mask on the entire time even while we were in open air environments. We would definitely go back if we're in the area.
Keishya offered a spectacular tour for us! She gave great pointers on kayaking and was generous with her knowledge of the island. What a great day - highly recommend for anyone who loves a day on the crystal clear water!

Stunning and beautiful place to walk. I don't recommend to go in the water as this beach is known to be dirty. Only service animals are allowed I suggest you bring a walking stick because there are a lot of stray dogs that hangout by the parking lot.
Odd hours, but we parked along the road and got in at sunrise to check for some birds. We saw quite a few species here including: osprey, magnificent frigatebird, mangrove cuckoo, Puerto Rican spindalis, Green-throated Carib, and many more. The WW2 pillboxes and associated buildings were amazing to explore. Overall hiked about 3 miles at this location and would recommend a visit!
The wildlife mets you at the gate, beautiful flowers and trees. Our first time kayaking was great. The lagoon is just enough. Make sure you put on your bug spray—you’ll be happy you did. Overall the experience was great and we would come again!
Great spot for my early morning walks 2 or 3 times a week. Also occasionally fish here as the lagoons hold tarpon and snook.
Such a nice short hike with a beautiful scenery of the east coast at the very top.
Beautiful place for those who loves nature.
We went for a scenic and sweaty walk here on a Friday afternoon and had a lovely time! Saw some incredible wildlife and views as well as some fascinating history. The park ranger onsite was so kind and helpful, and we loved talking to her about birds!
Entrance is free. Nice walk trail with plenty to explore. The beach at the end of the trail is a perfect spot to stop and rest. Rentals available. Kayak. Bikes, peddle boats very nice place. It's November but too hot still and the beach off season seaweed on shore.

An amazing experience and Greta attention.
I Called to ask for information of what they do and because I was in Puerto Rico and they were fully booked she didn't want to answer. The service is bad and they don't know how to guide the customer at all. Bad service. Don't support many good places around.
Great adventure from southwest highlands of El Yunque National Forest.

If I could give more stars, I would!! I have played several courses in PR and this club is by far my favorite!! Didn't get to play the Flamboyan course yet but the Palms course was absolutely beautiful!! The course is so well taken care of. Fairways and greens were in immaculate shape. The Palm side is the first course they built and is not as challenging as Flamboyan. However for the average golfer, I feel this course is perfect. Plenty of wide fairways with beautiful rolling hills, surrounded by absolutely beautiful scenery. There is plenty of challenges that make your round so much fun. It has its share of big fairway and greenside bunkers as well as some beautiful, long, dog-leg par 5s. There are just the right amount of water hazards too. The property is absolutely stunning and very well maintained. The pro shop staff, the cart staff, and the rangers were all assets to this country club! All were friendly, courteous, and informative. They looked after our every need and made our visit that much more enjoyable. It's the little things that make a big difference in customer service and here they hit all the point and think of everything. Can't wait to come back and hopefully it will be a longer stay next time. If you are looking for a top notch country club and a beautiful golf course while you are in PR then try Palmas Athletic Club, you will not be disappointed!
A bit pricey for the course, but I understand it's pretty exclusive for PR and they do charge a rider fee. Course was in overall good condition and was not busy at all on a Saturday afternoon. Challenging, but not too difficult. I'm glad I spent the money and got a round in here. I'd put Royal Isabela ahead of this, but solid all around.
Amazing views of the beaches, El Yunqe, thunderstorms in the distance, wildlife etc. Course is in good shape. As a non member guest, fees are high just as any private course with non member privileges. Member rates $30/round, non member resident $80, non member non resident $220. Rental clubs $60 were a decent set of Titleist. Snacks at the pro shop are reasonable but skip the sandwiches. If it says ham and cheese, it literally means only ham and cheese. Chez Daniel was far better for food. Greens are some sort of Bermuda mix which makes them not roll real well. Green on #18 palms course is a very different type of grass and doesn't putt well at all. #3 and #4 hit into and parallel to the beach offering challenging par 3s. Lots of other views of the water from some elevated tee boxes. Staff were friendly. Paired with a member who was also very friendly. Course is challenging although non terribly so. Overall, a bit overpriced but an experience I won't get at home. Recommended for the golfer staying in the area.
Palmas Athletic Club is a nice facility to enjoy lounging near the pool or grabbing a meal.
Played both courses The Palms and The Flamboyan. The palms is much better and is still only a $79-$99 course. At $220 per person it’s overpriced. Greens are mid condition, mostly slow rolling around 8 on the stimp. Flamboyan should close until greens are improved. This should be a $59-$79 course. At $220 it’s armed robbery to charge this much. These greens are trash with 20-25% that are bare dirt. Don’t bother using a rake in the bunkers, the sand is like a dirt road in Mexico, hard, compact and rocky. No sand has been added since the island was discovered. First round on the Palms, we did see the beverage cart 3 or more times. At the Flamboyan we saw her once on the 17th tee. Also while playing holes 2 through 8 around 11:00am the maintenance crew cut fairways and roughs right as we played. 1 or them did have enough sense to idle down his machine while we played past, all the others could care less. Overpriced, waste of a beautiful property to allow this condition. Find another option if you’re looking for top caliber golf in this area.
It is definitely the best Golf Course of Puerto Rico! Service and Food is Paramount to them!
Excellent place for enjoying sports. There two golf courses are challenging and in good condition. There are plenty of tennis and pickleball courts.
Unbeatable views but sadly unplayable greens. The views are amazing and the setting is unbeatable, but the course conditions left much to be desired. The greens were covered with sand, which should have been in the neglected bunkers.... And, the course overall had poor drainage. Good for "vacation golf", but the avid golfer would be disappointed.

Went over to Vieques to snorkel. Captain was amazing. First mate took good care of the 15 person group. Definitely, recommended charter for snorkeling.
Enjoyed our snorkeling trip, saw lots of fish, turtles, and a stingray. The only caution is to make sure you take some motion sickness tabs if you get the slightest bit of motion sickness. No fault of the crew, but we had one person in our party get sick, and a few others were feeling pretty nauseous after the trip to the island. Otherwise was the perfect spot for snorkeling, crystal clear waters and plenty to see.
Caught a blue marlin weighing between 250-300 lbs...about 8+ feet long. It was the best trip of my life. We caught king mackerel, dolphin (Mahi), and some Baracuda. This is the best!
I took my friends and family to do some snorkeling and had a great time. The captain provided the equipment and some light snacks. The places we went were absolutely beautiful. I would definitely do this again.
We've been out with Matt three times over the years on snorkeling trips and highly recommend his services.
Captain Matt and First Mate Jerry are AWESOME. I highly recommend this tour. It was my first time snorkeling and they taught me everything. I loved it. If you are visiting Puerto Rico or even if you live on the island this is a must, you have to have this experience with Matt and Jerry. I promise you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to do it again.
If I could give 100stars I would! My family of 4 took this out as a private charter on friday last day of our trip and it was PERFECT ending to our trip!!! My 9 year son will be telling stories of swimming above sea turtles and being one with the fish for years to come, along with catching insane amount of very large fish! We caught tons of fish. Jerry cut us up steaks from the King Mackerel and the restaurant we pulled into cooked them to perfection. Matt and Jerry were the friendliest and most knowledgeable people we met on the trip. It was so funny the whole trip I kept looking at Jerry thinking that will be my 9 year old son in 10years haha. I just can't type enough about this trip. The waters were gorgeous. The reef was breathtaking. The island was clean and gorgeous. Everywhere we went we felt we had everything to ourselves. Captain Matt's boat was spectacular. Everything was so clean and 100% maintained. Do yourself a favor and book with this boat! It's an experience of a lifetime!!!
Excellent service! We called and reserved a snorkeling tour based on what we saw on their webpage. Had a great time, Matt and Tony were awesome! Great guys, very helpful. They had all the snorkeling equipment and some snacks. The place we went to in Vieques was beautiful! Would definitely recommend!! (Both for locals and tourists alike)

A perfect place to see the beautiful kapok trees. So peaceful and utterly gorgeous. Very family friendly walks. Lots of varied wildlife too. We got to see an iquana that was about 3 feet long from tail to head. Highly recommend bringing kids here. If you desire a quiet place to walk in nature, this is it! Also has golfcart parking.
The Pterocarpus Forest has been abandoned. You are still able to enter at your own risk. There’s really nothing to see here… the “exhibits” are all gone. The cliff notes, it’s a rickety board walk through a swamp with trees.
Nature wise, this was a neat short visit and the pterocarpus trees are pretty cool. However, the rickety elevated boardwalk is in a state of disrepair and should be completely closed off from access. It is incredibly slippery, but more concerning is many weak spots in the planks - someone is going to send a foot straight through soon. If you do go, stick to the concrete pathway, that short walk was fine and safe.
We went twice while we were staying at Club Cala. It's a free attraction. It's very educational a few of the informational plaques could use replacing but I mean it's a swamp area near the cost so I'm sure it has withstood a lot of weather before we visited. I few of the planks on the board walk could use replacing but over all its a very interesting and enchanting experience. Others have mentioned bugs however both time we went we didn't have any issue. The pterocarpus trees are magnificent, additionally the flora and fauna there are very active. Sometimes you need to stay still and quiet for the critters to start going about their business. If you're into conservation, interesting landscapes, plants, animals this is defintely a place I would reccomend you go to.
Wonderful place to explore. It was a lovely day. Plenty of parking.
Nice short walk through a swamp forest that is elevated by a boardwalk. It's very easy to go through and can be done in less than 45 min. Lots of shade and plenty of interesting tree fauna to see. Wear bug spray though, got bit up pretty bad in just the short amount of time I was there. There are restrooms on site and a bird watching tower and center with educational information.
A lovely preserve. Park to the right end of the lot (nearer the church) for close access to the trailhead. Part of the boardwalk was closed when we visited, but it still made a nice lollipop walk. It rained on both visits and the boardwalk metal can get slippery when wet. We saw 5 new bird species here (Gray Kingbird in the pictures)!
I had such a great time here! Don't come looking for extreme action. There no waterfall or anything like that, and I still loved it! It's like an extended nature walk. There's a wooden structure. When you go to the top there's binoculars which I'm assuming are for bird watching. There's a trail to walk. It says there's a app you can download to listen to the tour as you walk. I have an android and it didn't work. Hopefully it'll be fixed when you go or you have another phone. I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Along the way there are plaques that give info on the flora and fauna of the place. It was very nice. Check beforehand but being that the route is on a wooden wide path I assume it would be wheelchair accessible. After that we got out and instead of going to back the parking we walked around the grounds and went in a full circle which took about an hour. If you're a walker, I high recommend this. Because we saw turtles. Just beware of the golf carts. Lastly. Getting there.... you have to enter Palmas del mar. I was surprised, but you just give the guard your name and you can go. The forest closes at 6pm. Enjoy!

Good place for visit and great service
Was not open. I encourage others to keep going until it is. It is worth a drive by. Beautiful pond out front
Quick stop to see the outside of the building. Place was closed so cannot provide more input. Exterior looks clean and mantain.
So sorry to see this beautiful place damaged by Hurricane Maria. Much work to be done.
It's a landmark that belonged to the owners of the Roig Bank. Old money!
