Fantastic microbrewery in the jungle of Guadalupe. Great (and many) breed, good food, and a fantastic location. Cost you about €50 with a taxi from PAP but it's totally worth it. Come hungry - and thirsty - and stay a while!
This place is epic! Some of the best food and beer we had on our trip, if not the best. We are still dreaming of the smoked marlin and fish dip. The vibes are spot on too. A backyard feel that is so chill and welcoming! Can't wait to go back!
Great atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Beer was also great tasting. Did not try the food but looked tasty. It's definitely worth a stop!
I strongly recommend you to add La Lézarde on your must do list of Basse-Terre Island either after a swim at aire de pique-nique des écrevisses or after a hike in the beautiful Valombreuse garden (I advise exercise first because you do want to try the food). La Lézarde allows you to taste artisanal beer on a terrace in a beautiful garden but also now some tasty snacks during the day and chef's specials at night. Waiters are really cool too and the cat is helping setting the ambiance ☺️.The beers are actually good, light but not tasteless! We were wondering how they manage to brew that quality by this temperature without lots of hoppy taste. Please find the secret for us 😉
Beautiful place to sit and enjoy the nature. I had previously tried their basilic-flavored Jalousy lemonade in another restaurant and really enjoyed it. Had the hibiscus (groseille pays) this time, basilic remains my favorite. We also ordered cod croquettes and a hot dog. Those were disappointing. The hot dog had a very basic industrial sausage, ketchup, and overpowering cheese. The croquettes were slightly better, but uninspired and too soft in my opinion. I recommend coming for drinks or trying other food options.
Absolutely loved our experience. Found this place by luck as we were stuck on a detour due to bike race! Beer is amazing and snacks help you have more!! Haha Worth the detour even if you are not in the area!
Super bar, highly recommend, very nice local craft beers, nice little appetisers, just missing a little bit of ambiance music, but amazing venue a place you should definitely visit. I've been many times and i've always had a great time. The staff are also fantastic very helpful and speak a little bit of English if you are a little bit lost. Enjoy 🤙🥳
Beautiful location for the oldest brewery in Basse Terre! Attentive and friendly staff, great tasting beer (try the Piment) and a selection of nibbles like saucisson. As with most places, there are cats who hang out in hopes of a treat but they are not pushy at all. You will need to drive there so make sure you have a dedicated driver - there are non alcoholic offerings too. Be aware that it is a hilly area with steps down to the main seating area by the garden, but there are seats at the bar too.

Le Jardin de Valombreuse is a tropical gem that deserves every bit of its reputation as a must-visit destination in Guadeloupe. This extensive botanical garden is a testament to thoughtful design and meticulous care, offering visitors a serene and educational experience. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, with a network of meandering paths that guide you through lush greenery. The signage along the way provides fascinating insights into the plants, with a focus on the flora of the Lesser Antilles, complemented by species from across the tropics. Every corner of the garden feels like a living celebration of biodiversity. A highlight of the visit is the collection of large aviaries, which house vibrant Caribbean flamingos, red ibises, lorikeets, and two species of macaws. These birds add bursts of color and energy to an already dynamic environment. The aviaries are thoughtfully maintained, allowing you to appreciate these magnificent creatures up close. The gift shop is worth a stop, offering an array of colorful souvenirs that capture the spirit of Guadeloupe. It’s a great spot to pick up unique keepsakes for yourself or loved ones. Overall, Le Jardin de Valombreuse is a perfect blend of beauty, education, and relaxation. Whether you’re a plant enthusiast, a bird lover, or simply someone who enjoys tranquil outdoor spaces, this garden is a delight. Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in this tropical paradise!
Excellent Botanical Gardens. A leisurely stroll round took just over an hour. Didn’t get the road train or use the restaurant!
The botanic garden was definitely a highlight for us on Guadeloupe. We really enjoyed the walking path which took us ~1 hour to complete and the variety of exotic plants and flowers some of which we had never seen before. Bonus: The restaurant was great, too.
Probably one of the best Botanic Gardens we've ever been to. Unbelievable!!!
Beautiful and well maintained garden!
It was beautiful clean full of a wide range of exotic plants and birds.
Probably one of the best places to visit in Guadeloupe
Pictures dont do honor to this beautiful and super relaxing place. It needs to be seen with your own eyes. Photos will be just a plus to your visit.

Serene waterfall and crystal clear river. Not easy to get to, so be prepared for a steep, muddy walk and climb down. The way up is a lot easier. Not for those wearing flip flops that day.
Path is to the left of the abandoned house with cool graffiti on it. 30 minutes down 20 up with lots of slippery roots and mud to break your ankle on. If you survive the way down the pool and waterfall are tremendously beautiful. Water is colder than I expected but felt great after all the sweaty mud
Natural fall, quite high, some people jump from the top, but be cautious there's several people who lost their lives there (one of my cousin did). The road towards the fall is not complicated but be prepared with some real shoes ready to be full of mud and soil. Not the most practical when there's rain around. Refreshing bath and a good way to pause for a few minutes. 30-45 minutes to go from the top to the bottom and vice versa without running like a trailer.
Tricky and very muddy path, and hard to find the way. Took about 25 mins down and 15 up, we ended up on top of the fall though, and did not have time to make it down, try to hold a higher ground as you get closer to the falls. Very beautiful, worth the walk!
Quite the hike down and out, especially in the mud, but it's worth the effort. Beautiful and peaceful location. Feels like paradise.
Very nice place to visit, beautiful water, path is a little complicated but doable, yes it is behind the abandoned house thing
Be aware! Not signposted. Very easy to get lost. Beautiful waterfall with refreshingly cold water.
It is a one hour walk down a slippery slope through the jungle but the waterfall is more than worth it. The pool is quite large and nice for swimming, so bring your Speedo or bikini. You will be sweating again walking and crawling up the hill back to your car. The path starts at a deserted house, walk around it on the left.

We had a wonderful time. They offered us a guided tour in English spontaneously. We had a tasting and everything was so well explained. Definitely worth a visit 😍
great tours with tasting, parking available, amazing rhums and punch. we also had a really nice guide! 10/10 would recommend.
Unfortunately for us, we went on a Saturday and the actual production was not taking place. However, the tour still took us inside the workings of this smaller distillerie. The tastings at the end of the tour were generous and took us through at least a dozen different rhums. This was well organized even if our tour group had 20-30 people in it. Highly recommend visiting during the week when operations a running.
Very nice family owned distillery. We drove there extra for the free excursion and it was more than worth it! It was almost 2 hours, super informative, we were able to see and get close to the whole production. The shop is very nice too and prices way better than in the regular shops.
The guided tour in the distillery was very interesting, the guide spoke both English and French. At the end, there was a rhum tasting and possibility to buy a good rhum for low prices. A guided tour is for free and can be booked online. There is a big parking place for visitors. If you arrive from the highway, do not follow the sign "Visits" (to the left in fornt of the distillery) and continue 50 meters along the road and you will see the parking place on the left just behind the distillery.
Family run distillery with an excellent product. The owners speak French and the tour guides also speak English; I strongly recommend taking the quick tour to see how the liquor is made the old fashion way and then stopping by the store to get your rum fix.
This is a more modern looking distillery. The tour is free and the guide is really passionate about his job. Make sure you call and check when a tour is in English. We thought we knew enough french, but due to the noise, many things from the description were lost. At the end you get a chance to taste many of their rhums
The most amazing, real experience! Free tour and super friendly guide with excellent english <3
