This is open - just so everyone knows - Jan 25, 2022. Its a nice walk up. Good views. There are no fees.
It’s a small unkept ruin with a long hike uphill…the perk was the view other than that not worth it.
Get ready for a good but short hike up top. Bring mosquito repllent if you have.
Perfect for nature lovers and people looking for something different and keen on trekking or just having fun going up the pyramid. You'll need good cardio though, so take your time and enjoy your climb up.
A great place to contemplate the city from above, celebrating the spirit of the New Fire. It may need more care from local authorities, despite the fact, the Aztec building remains.
Archeological finds at the Cerro de la Estrella archeological site relate to the Teotihuacan, Toltec, Chichimeca and Culhua-Mexica cultures and range from 1500 BCE to 1521. Excavations have found the Temple of the New Fire, the Sanctuary, the Villa Estrellas, 144 caves, the remains of walls and evidence of terracing. The most important of these is the former plaza and temple of the New Fire Ceremony, which is on the top of the hill. This archeological site can be visited through a guided tour. However, early archeological remains can be found in many parts of the park, including those which have since been covered over by urban sprawl. Ceramic and stone sculpture materials were discovered in the west side of Huizachtecatl that apparently was made within the 100 to 500 years CE; these resemble other similar pieces found in Zacatenco, north of Mexico City. The constructions here were built between the year 100 and 650 AD and are located in the north side, the remains consist of foundations and walls of palaces that show Teotihuacan influence. Another area was housing zone at the middle of the hill, built during the late Classic period 600 to 900 CE. In 2003, specialists from the Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia INAH worked to document petroglyphs found in various areas of the park, registering 210 in eleven groups, but they believe there are still more. Some of the petroglyphs are aligned with certain annual solar events. The most recent find was in 2006, when a pyramid base was discovered in what is called Calvary at the top of the mountain. This base dates to the Teotihuacan period, about 1300 years ago. INAH has decided not to excavate the base. The last New Fire ceremony took place in 1507. Today, the hill remains important culturally, as the scene of Iztapalapa’s annual Passion Play.
Beautiful place, ruins are well preserved

This is an absolute must come see attraction in Mexico. My wife and I booked an excursion that included this along with touring different parts of different cities. This was our first stop first thing in the morning. We were greeted by an incredibly nice, respectful and authentic staff. The facility is very clean has bathrooms and everyone is full of energy. The balloon flight itself was absolutely spectacular. It will take your breath away. I have many different hobbies, such as being a pilot, a scuba diver and world traveler. And this destination in a hot air balloon was probably one of my favorite things I’ve done in my life. Coming back from the hot air balloon ride, the staff will show you all the amazing professional photos and videography that they took for you so you have the option to choose to purchase at a Fair cost. I chose to purchase the video and the photos because they came out absolutely spectacular.! After this part, they introduce you to your morning breakfast and let me tell you it is not continental. This is probably one of the best breakfast. My wife and I have had in Mexico since we arrived four days ago. A+++ Do not skip this attraction it is a must see
This experience was a must on my trip to MX, however it was overwhelming to choose between vendors.. are they trustworthy? Will the service be good? Will I be comfortable? ... After reading many, many, reviews I decided to go with this company. Let me tell you that as soon as I paid, someone reached out and confirmed with me all my booking details and asked if I had any questions. Then, the day came, they picked us up exactly where they said they would be, everyone in the staff was kind and welcoming. You have opportunities to take pics and videos and it's not a "pushy" sales vibe, more of an optional vibe. The ride itself was so SMOOTH. The captain was great! Great views too! Landing was perfection and the pyramid tour was also great. All of this to say that if you have any worries (I get it!), this is the company to book with!
The hot air balloon ride with Sky Balloons Mexico was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the team made everything feel smooth, organized, and exciting. Watching the balloons inflate as the sun came up was magical—and once we were in the air, the views were breathtaking. Floating over the landscape felt peaceful and surreal, like a bucket-list moment come to life. Our pilot was friendly, skilled, and made us feel completely safe the entire time. The staff as a whole were welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Sky Balloons Mexico offers an incredible hot air balloon experience—beautiful views, excellent service, and memories that last a lifetime. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Magical hot air balloon experience over Teotihuacán Sky Balloons México delivered an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, everything was organized, safe, and welcoming. The staff was professional and friendly, making us feel completely at ease. The sunrise flight over the pyramids was absolutely breathtaking—peaceful, surreal, and beautifully scenic. The pilot was skilled and gave us a smooth, comfortable ride with stunning panoramic views. We also enjoyed the post-flight breakfast and sparkling wine toast, which added a great celebratory touch to the morning. Whether you’re a first-time flyer or looking for a romantic or bucket-list adventure, Sky Balloons is a must in Mexico. Highly recommended!
Excellent tour as described. Really well organised from start to finish, no hidden charges or complications. Good communication by WhatsApp as well. Very happy, would definitely recommend!
Bad experience. We came on time. They made us wait. All other ballons were in the sky and the sunrise already passed and our balloon still didn't go up. The whole point of the advertised experience is to go up during the sunrise with all other ballons. So we didn't get to experience that. From my understanding there was a problem with the balloon which is why it was late. Regardless, it completely ruined our experience.
The best..... Absolutely sensational we booked through Viator and the process was seamless, we arrived safely on time and checked in.. offered coffee and snacks. Carlos our guide greeted us and gave us the run down, he was AWESOME and very knowledgeable about the balloon and process. He brought us to our balloon that lifted off right in front of the building and we were off . It was breathtaking. Skyteam and Carlos were awesome. Great English and personal involvement.. Carlos was on top of everything from the departure to landing... Skyteam balloon and Carlos. I trust
The experience is amazing. The place and stuff very friendly. The organization is prepared for everything, all is carefully think to have a great time. 100% recommended

Beautiful. A lot of walking. Not the friendliest terrain for wheelchairs or people with waking disabilities. Able to climb the ruins. Locals are selling arts, crafts and tchotchkes. Enjoyable to see so much undisturbed nature.
You have to plan on spending a few hours here. When I went the Temple of the Moon had just been opened two days before to be able to climb, but check ahead for any changes. Some of the archeological work was also open to be able to walk around. The museum and botanical garden is very impressive. There are signs throughout that tell you about the history but I'd definitely recommend getting a guide if you can; they love being able to tell you even more about the history.
Amazing decorations and sculptures of the Feathered Serpent. The complex is a bit more further away from the Sun and the Moon temples, the places majority of guests get limited to. The 1...2 km is worth the time. Porto 2 / Entrance 2 gives good entrance close to the Temple of the Feathered Serpent.
The closest pyramid to Puerta 1 of the Teotihuacan archeological site. If you are visiting from Puerta 2 close to the Pyramid of the Sun and Moon it might not be worth the 20 min walk across many stairs and under the sun, but if you're young and fresh you might enjoy the challenge, and it's much less crowded!
Pretty self paced. We did not get a guide, but would recommend if you didn't grow up in México. The whole tour took us a bit over 3hrs. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Love it!
don’t just go for the sun and moon pyramids when you’re here, take a walk down the path to this pyramid and admire its history and architecture. my guide said the “newer” structure in front is covering an “older”structure. no one actually knows why since there are no records. the original 7levels are meant to signify the step to heaven or something like that. the altar in front is apparently for sacrificial stuffs. my guide carries a guide book with pictures that reimagine what it looked like in the past. if you’re not just there for photo ops, should consider getting a certified guide.
Great place. Must visit
It’s a great site ;) however it’s not monumental because it’s not massive or endless to enjoy it because after a white it feels kinda small. There is no temple but a pyramid. I saw visitors in disbelief how they felt it was so big and it feels too small. I agree but still I don’t want to make a big deal of the size of this complex.

Our guide was José Luis, and not only was he extremely knowledgeable, but he was able to accommodate both my girlfriend and I as a bilingual couple (Spanish/English), switching languages and even giving distances in kilometers/miles on the fly. We could tell that he was very passionate about the tour and the subject matter and it really made for a great trip. I highly recommend this company and especially José Luis if you’re looking for something in both Spanish and English.
What a fantastic tour! Enrique was amazing and so knowledgeable about the area, its history, and anthropology. His English was fantastic, and he even taught us some local Mexican Spanish. We rode the bikes to the site then walked around the temples. You could tell he had the best reputation by how he greeted all the other guides and locals--everyone knew him. After touring the sites, we went to the lava tunnels which were pretty amazing. Apparently, this is one of the "must sees" because when I told another tour guide we had gone there, he was in awe. He hadn't been able to get in and he lived in CDMX all his life. Then we rode around the town and finally he dropped us a restaurant which was include in our tour. Again, can't say enough about this business--highly recommend!
My family and I were able to store our luggage here via the Bounce app. Angela, the owner, was super helpful and friendly, even offering to help us move our luggage to another location after her shop closed, if we needed that. We felt very comfortable leaving our bags with her, and when we came back they were exactly as we left them. Her shop is clean and has bathrooms we could use, and it's within walking distance of the #4 and #5 entrances of the pyramids. Super convenient! We were so glad we found Angela's place, and we would definitely recommend it to others. Really made our visit to the pyramids easier! Afterwards, the Uber ride to the NLU airport took about 45 minutes.
A completely delightful day. My guide, Enrique was very knowledgeable and told me some amazing and incredible things about the magnificent pyramids. The visit to the cave was an unexpectedly spiritual experience that I wont forget.
I would highly recommend them. Communication was easy. This was a relief as you are not a local and you are concerned about logistics. They were able to accommodate picking us and the rest of the party from 2 different locations. The driver was so nice. Once we get there, you get a litle backpack with water and a snack. Our tour guide, Jorge, was amazing. He is a local and has so much knowledge. You can tell the respect he has for his community. The cave tour was great too, make sure your phone is charge in case you need to use your phone light. The artisan family we visit was nice. Make sure you have enough pesos to spend. They accept card as well. You get to taste pulque, tequila, mezcal, some mermelade made our the fruit of the nopal, and a spice salsa, so tasty! You get to have lunch at a restaurant which is covered by your tour fee . It was nice, food was great for the meat eaters. For the vegetarian ones, food was ok. You have to pay for drinks though. Finally, you get dropped off at your hotel. I would do this tour again with this company!
Great service, Jorge and Javier are kind and nice people , they explained everything very clear, the tuna's trip was amazing. I will definitely be back to try a different route!
Amazing tour! There were only three of us on it so I got to ask tons of questions. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Most of all, this place is absolutely magical. I can't think of a better way to experience it.
Excellent tour guides. Speak Spanish & English. Friendly and knowledgeable. Customize tour to your needs. Quite an adventure!

Fun place for families as well as adults! Definitely go for the safari adventure and definitely go early. It fills up later in the day. Feeding the animals is very entertaining and being able to pet a giraffe is not something you get to do everyday.
This was an amazing experience. Having a giraffe literally eating out of your hand was the coolest thing. The animals all looked great, it was very clean, staff was knowledgeable and it really was a terrific day.
Nice experience and not far from home. A short distance away from the pyramids of Teotihuacan.
Safari with open trucks. Animals are freely moving in a constrained land.
Really good place to visit with you family my kids loved
Was great but the safari wasn't that good... Not too many animals and the ones that we see were sleeping... For me was a lil. Expensive for not too many animals and inside on the gift shop was expensive too, and you need to pay parking. They didn't let you pass food or drinks because they sale everything inside and expensive...
We had an awesome time at Reino Animal. Great place to spend the day outdoors with your children enjoying the animal shows, milking the cows, feeding the baby animals, going on a safari ride to see giraffes, zebras, yamas, even lions and jaguar. It was great! Only down side was the quality of the food sold inside. It was very bad!
Discount buying tickets online. Took us four hours to see every stop and show. The food was amazing with many options available. Animals are in top conditions and common areas are perfectly cleaned and sanitized.

We absolutely loved this experience with Volare! As someone who has a pretty moderate fear of heights, I almost did not do this, but I am beyond glad I did! Transportation picked us up right on time, we signed in, and watched the balloons get filled up while having coffee. We got assigned our balloon with Capt. Ernesto, and we felt very safe the whole time! he was always communicating over the walkie-talkie with other balloons, and that made me feel very safe! The only time I felt nervous of heights was takeoff, due to the strong winds that day. There were a lot of balloons close together, but once we got into our own space the ride was so incredibly smooth. And you don’t really notice how high up you are. we unfortunately couldn’t go over the pyramids due to the wind, but the view above the farms and overlooking the pyramids/mountains was incredible! The ride was only 40 minutes, and flew by so quickly. Afterward, we had a champagne toast, and they brought us back to the meeting point where we had a quick breakfast, and listened to some mariachis. We took our transportation to the pyramids, and we took a tour with Martin, who I believe is connected to Volare. The tour was also great and he Told us a lot of history, and we were allowed to climb the pyramid of the moon, which was open as of a week prior! We also saw some cool tunnels. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience, even if you are scared of heights. Thank you, Volare, for our favorite day of our trip!
Really enjoyed this experience! My daughter and I visited for her birthday and it was beautiful. We were picked up from our hotel really early and were on our way. I would defo recommend this activity!
What an incredible morning! Volare have thought of everything to make the whole experience seamless, from pick-up to take-off. The safety checks were spot on, and it was great seeing how everything came together behind the scenes. The flight itself was absolutely stunning, and our pilot Anwar was super chill, helping to calm some of the more nervous flyers. I’ve seen people complain about the breakfast, but honestly, it’s a nice little extra — you’re there for the flight. And the 8am Mariachi band? Brilliant. Would 100% recommend this experience!
We felt very safe and the entire time and the pilot was awesome. Victor said he was flying for 16 years every morning - this gives me great confidence in Volare. I In talking to them it appears that there are 4-5 legitimate companies and others are fly by night ops so choose wisely. We picked the visiting pyramids package as well pickup and drop off and that was the right choice. Volare organized the transport perfectly.
Amazing experience! Got picked up in downtown, everything was smoothly. They also prepare a surprise for the birthday of a beautiful girl in my group which i think was very sweet.
Perfectly organised, professional and safe. From answering my questions on WhatsApp to the pickup from town which was even two minutes early. The flight itself was beautiful and the team very experienced, coordinated and calm. We left after most of the other balloons which created a nice view. Transport was high quality, breakfast tasty and the Mariachi band was a nice touch.
Incredible experience! Felt very safe. The views were spectacular, we were an hour in the air and the food afterwards was great! Transport too and from the city was very smooth!
It was a once in a lifetime experience for us. They picked us up on time and everything was super organized and planned out. We were up in time to watch the sunrise and flew over the pyramids. Our pilot was amazing and had a small snack for us at landing. Breakfast was decent and not great but they had mariachi band playing at breakfast which was fun. On the way back all highways were closed but the drivers got us back in time via back roads which was great outcome for us. Thank for an amazing day!

I had an amazing experience with Flying Pictures on my first day in Mexico! Communication before the flight was excellent and seamless. The driver arrived promptly, and the flight itself was smooth and breathtaking, with the added bonus of flying right over the pyramids. My package also included breakfast at a local buffet café, which offered some delicious vegetarian options. Additionally, I had entry to the Teotihuacan Pyramids, which made for a lovely, brief visit. Overall, I highly recommend flying with Flying Pictures!
A wonderful morning. We felt incredible well taken care of and very safe! Our pilot was excellent on the flight. The route over the Sun pyramid was great. Breakfast buffet was delicious and pyramids are not to miss. We also had a great driver from CDMX Carlos Ubibe! His car was extremely comfortable for our family of 5. Plenty of room for everyone and luggage!
An unforgettable experience! The hot air balloon ride in Teotihuacán was absolutely magical. Watching the sunrise from above the pyramids was serene and breathtaking. Everything was so well organized; the transportation was perfectly on time, the team was professional and friendly, and the ride itself felt smooth and safe. Floating peacefully above such a historic and beautiful place is something we’ll never forget. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Mexico City. It’s truly once in a lifetime experience!
Once you get over the very early morning (grumpy/cold/tired) feeling you are in for a sublime ride. I felt I was in competent and professional hands during the entire experience. Pick up in company van, arrival was easy and included coffee, tea and snacks. You are kept in groups according to stickers handed out during check-in. Everything was so easy. Lift off is so smooth. And when the engine isn’t firing off, everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. Definitely recommend and what a way to see the pyramids and the countryside.
We had a great time flying with this company. Ladies, you can absolutely wear something cute to go up (maybe not white). They will take a ton of pictures, so if you want to purchase their picture packages, take advantage (lowest package was $100usd). They use a drone too. We didn't do the breakfast which was fine. Getting up so early in the morning gives you time to do that and get breakfast back in the city and still have time to explore. If you stay for their breakfast and pyramids you'll be out there till noon. After looking at the pyramids from above, I'm glad we didn't go see them. You get a better view from the top anyway. All in all it was a great experience. You fly up quite high.
Such an incredible experience. It is worth the early wake up call to do this for sunrise. Recommend doing it on your first day while your sleep schedule is already getting adjusted from travel. Was back in the city for lunch time and had the rest of the day to enjoy.
The best experience we had during our time visiting the Mexico City area! We picked the Traveler’s Flight package and it came with pick up and drop off at our airbnb, coffee and cookies before the flight, pictures taken before, during, and after the flight (although i did not really find the go pro photos useful, which is unfortunate since they take them every 10 seconds of the flight), drone footage, champagne toast as well as breakfast buffet offsite, and a tour guide while walking the pyramids. I did originally try to book this experience late at night the day prior to the day i wished to fly. I would advise that this does not guarantee you a spot immediately. Flying Pictures allows customers to initiate purchase for a flight the next day very late into the night before, but you must receive confirmation of your booking first. It was not communicated whether they would or would not confirm booking that late, and since their cancellation policy requires customers to advise of cancellation 48 hours prior, i was stressed trying to figure out if we needed to wake up early next morning or not. Flying Pictures communicated with me through Whatsapp the morning of the day we originally wished to fly and got us scheduled for the next day. On the day of the flight, our driver came at the exact time communicated to us for pickup. Everyone we came in contact with was so friendly - we LOVED our tour guide especially! Montse was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. So many opportunities for photos! Do it.
We could not have been more thrilled with choosing Flying Pictures!! My boyfriend and I did the flight and archeological tour in October 2025, and it was a stand out experience through-and-through. If you are debating what company to go with, look no further -- FP is a MUST!! --- They picked us up promptly in Roma Norte at 4:30am. All communication with our driver and guide was clear and reliable on WhatsApp. (Shout out to Erika for being kind, informative, attentive, and a very safe driver!) The ride from the city to the site was easy and scenic. Upon arriving to FP site, we were checked in kindly and easily. There was fun house music playing in the morning to life our spirits in the cold. Some coffee, tea, and cookies also gave us some energy. Once we were assigned to our balloon, we were safely loaded and given a thoroughly safety protocol briefing. Throughout the whole ride, our pilot Cesar was INCREDIBLE. He was funny and very knowledgeable about the landscape and history -- he was able to share what we were looking at and why it mattered. There were a couple people on our flight who were afraid of heights, and he did an incredible job at reassuring them and making them feel safe while still satisfying the other riders like us who wanted to fly high! Upon landing, Cesar led our champagne toast with a native prayer and went above and beyond to make us feel special. What made FP even better is that every balloon has it's photographer, videographer, and go pro. The whole flight has pictures and super high quality pics are taken before and after. We are never really the people to buy the photo package, but we ended up buying the biggest package because the content was just that good! After this excitement, we were taken to an incredible breakfast buffet where we sat with a great group of travelers. The food was actually way better than I would have expected haha. We then drove 5 minutes to the archeological zone where we met a guide for a private tour of the ruins. Just over 2 hours was the perfect time to see them. Erica then drove us safely home, and we arrived just after 2pm. Thank you to FP and the whole team for making this an unforgettable experience!!

I had the most incredible experience on my hot air balloon ride! From the moment we ascended, the views were absolutely breathtaking. Floating silently over the landscape gave me a sense of peace and tranquility that I’ve never felt before. The pilot was extremely professional and informative, making us feel safe and excited the entire time. The scenery was stunning — we soared over beautiful fields all while the sun began to rise, casting a golden glow over everything. It was such a unique and unforgettable experience, one I’ll treasure forever. I highly recommend this adventure to anyone looking for something truly special!
We had a great family trip with Globopuerto at the end of August 2025. The organizers were very patient as we asked questions and figured out which day to fly and how many would be flying. They were super responsive and helpful. We rented a balloon just for the 8 of us. On the day everything went very well. We checked in pretty quickly and then soon after got taken to our balloon. The whole flight was around 50 minutes and we went over one end of the pyramids and had great views. The toast afterwards was a nice way to finish the ride and breakfast back at the check-in area was good with a great view from the rooftop of the restaurant. I can highly recommend this company.
Great experience! Felt very safe and all the equipment looked in great condition. Staff was very helpful. I loved it! The drone video was very cool
Captain Jonni and his whole crew were amazing! My first time ballooning and now I would highly recommend. The took great care of my mom who has bad knees, getting in and out of the basket. We got so close to the ruins and with the sunrise in the background, was a one of a kind adventure. The photos Paola took of us with the drone footage captured our day, better than we could have.
It was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had in my life. I am super grateful for pilot Giovanni for everything he did to make the trip perfect. We appreciate his professionalism, kindness, and it was wonderful, listening to him, explained to us the process.
Great experience for a decent price! Our pilot had several challenges with the wind, but he conquered each one of them 🙌🏼 I just wish they had poured more of that champagne in my glass at the end of the flight 😁🥂
Amazing trip and experience!!!! Highly recommend The staff was so well dressed for Halloween and day of the dead!!! Everyone was AMAZING!!! 👌 👍 👏 🙌
Very wonderful part of the trip. Well worth the money. About the same price you would pay in the U.S. for a hot air balloon ride. A little less expensive but they have great equipment and pilots who fly daily. Felt very safe and enjoyed the beautiful morning. Highly recommend it if you are in the area.
San Juan Teotihuacán
9. San Juan Teotihuacán
Teotihuacan is a vast Mexican archaeological complex northeast of Mexico City. Running down the middle of the site, which was once a flourishing pre-Columbian city, is the Avenue of the Dead. It links the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Sun, the latter two with panoramic views from their summits. Artifacts in the Museum of Teotihuacan Culture, on-site, include pottery and bones.

Amazing place to visit. A UNESCO heritage site. Can not compare with pyramids in Giza. But this has its own uniqueness. Better to book the tour via trip advisor. You can find better deals there. This place has a lot of unique stuff to buy. Bring some cash. Worth buying as souvenirs. T shirts are super cool and unique. A very nice photo friendly locatiom. No disturbances from sellers. You can negotiate a lot. Must visit place in Mexico if you visit there. Just 1 and half hours away from Mexico city.
Visiting the Pyramid of the Sun was an unforgettable experience! The site is truly majestic, and the view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. Walking through the ancient ruins gives you a real sense of history and wonder. Everything is well-maintained, and it’s easy to spend a few hours exploring and taking photos. Definitely a must-visit spot when in Mexico City — highly recommended!
The Pyramid of the Sun is truly a breathtaking historical site and one of Mexico’s most remarkable landmarks. Standing at the top gives you a spectacular panoramic view of Teotihuacan and the surrounding pyramids. The walk to the top can be a bit challenging, especially under the sun, but it’s absolutely worth it. The place is well maintained and rich in ancient history. It’s best to visit early in the morning to avoid the crowds and heat. A must-visit spot for anyone interested in culture, history, and stunning views.
A very large and interesting park to visit with family and friends, full of culture and history in one place. It needs to be well-maintained since there's a lot of walking involved, especially climbing the pyramids. There are many vendors selling beautiful handicrafts. Restrooms are limited and scattered. Bring a hat or umbrella because the sun is very strong, and bring water to stay hydrated. It's a very large park and attracts many visitors.
Absolutely worth the trip from Mexico City. Sadly, you’re not able to climb the pyramid of the sun due to restoration but can climb the pyramid of the moon. The pyramid of the sun is the largest one as is located near the pyramid of the moon. However, be prepared to walk A LOT if you want to see the entire area. In my opinion, focus on the two largest. Amazing experience. Remember sunscreen and a hat!
I suggest that you do not hire a guide: they are fine but you can enjoy walking around on your own, tough the map that they hand out is not drawn to scale. There are multiple parking lots, but if you plan to walk the entire grounds you can pick any one. Figure two and a half hours to see everything (especially if you want to check out the vendors), but you can see the two major pyramids in about an hour. Right now, you can only climb the pyramid of the moon, which has pretty steep steps and can be a short aerobic challenge going up but more of a challenge with balance going down. The temple of the sun has steps that are closed since the pandemic, though my guide says that they should be open by January 2026. Make a point of seeing the painting of the jaguar, she's pregnant.
Beautiful place but get ready for some long walks and if you want to go up on one of the pyramid get ready for one strong workout. If your old please take your time, if you are young take your time it's super Exhausting going up. And if you go down , you may get vertigo. At the time we went only the moon pyramid was open and the sun was closed. But next year the sun pyramid will be open and the moon pyramid will be closed. At the top of the pyramid is a great view of the whole place, take many pictures while up there.
Visiting the Pyramid of the Sun in Mexico was an unforgettable experience; truly one of the highlights of my travels. It was my first time ever seeing a pyramid, and standing in front of e such an enormous and ancient structure felt both humbling and inspiring. Even though we didn’t understand Spanish, the journey from Mexico City turned out to be smooth and exciting. We travelled without a guide, relying only on a simple map and the instructions provided at our hotel. Navigating everything on our own made the trip feel even more adventurous. We walked through the bustling streets, took the underground train, and finally boarded a bus heading toward Teotihuacán. Moving through different forms of transport and trying to find our way made the trip even more exciting and rewarding. When we finally reached the Pyramid of the Sun, the sight was breathtaking. The atmosphere was peaceful, the history rich, and the experience unforgettable. Overall, it was a very good experience, full of learning and exploration. I would highly recommend visiting.

The museum was completely empty in the afternoon. There were many impressive pieces that at one point were part of the temple complex, before being removed. Definitely worth the 10 min walk for a quick free walkthrough away from the crowd
I came on a rainy Monday to the ruins to avoid the crowds and visited the museum afterwards. There was no other visitor. I didn't know who the lone gentleman that worked there was and started asking him questions and received quite detailed explanations. We got into an interesting discussion about mesoamérica civilizations that taught me a lot. It turned out he was a guard that checked to make sure visitors don't touch the display pieces. He said he learned about history of these pieces through readings and listening to tour guides. He was like my personal tour guide and I had the museum to myself.
Small wonder within the archeological site where the pyramids are. The surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful, as well as some rooms. Must see.
It is a bit of a walk to get to this museum, but well worth it. You have to go outside the fence and then back through the fence to get to it. Signage is bi-lingual.
A lot of painting well preserved, is free when you paid main entrance of Teotihuacan
For sure 5 stars. I can't imagine someone visiting the pyramids and not looking at the preserved murals here. It's air conditioned and you can read all the plaques. The gardens around the museum are beautiful. The architecture of the building is so beautiful. Nicest bathrooms I've seen in Teotihuacán or most of Mexico tbh. It's free. The whole thing is not crowded. Zero cost. I don't believe there are any vending machines for snacks or water
Recommended if you visit Teotihuacan
Don't know why more people don't come here. Everyone climbs the pyramid, but we were one of 4 people in this museum at 2pm. Crazy. A rare close look at murals and reproductions from inside the buildings surrounding the cuidad. I learned a lot and the art is beautiful.

Couldn’t imagine a better team and day! They made the experience so special starting from the beginning of the day - picking us up at our Airbnb door. There was coffee when you get there in the morning and the pilot and crew make you feel so safe. Our pilot was German Osorio and he even had a cheers at the end of the flight with wine. It is clear they have a ton of experience. We had a blast and couldn’t recommend this experience more.
This is truly amazing … I was expecting one or two balloons there were hundreds, and the balloons were huge taking up to 16 people in a basket. An early start so as you raise from the ground the sun is also coming up the sky was littered with balloons everywhere, they flow low over the pyramids, and the operator managed to land straight in the trailer.
Absolutely amazing experience! Lupita took incredible photos and drone footage, and our pilot Julio got us very close to the pyramids for some beautiful photos. Can’t recommend enough!!
Dear Aerodiverti Team, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my recent experience with you regarding my hot air balloon flight over the pyramids site. While I understand that weather conditions can be unpredictable and appreciate the efforts of your pilots, I must express some disappointment with the timing of our flight. I wish your pilotes consultative decision about the timing of take-off would have been the same as several other balloon companies who on that day opted for a 80 minute delay in their take-off, so around 7:20am instead of 6:50am as chosen by your team. This adjustment would have significantly improved visibility of the pyramids and the entire archaeological site, as the fog was still quite dense during our flight between 6:50am and 7:30am. Despite our inquiries made a day in advance regarding the weather forecast, which indicated clear skies similar to previous days, our flight mostly traversed either above or into the lingering fog. This obscured the panoramic views we had hoped to enjoy of the pyramids, which was the primary reason for booking this 100€/person experience rather than just a hot air balloon flight in and above the very beautiful morning fog which can be done anywhere else in the world. While I appreciate the necessity of adhering to strict flight schedules for safety reasons, I believe that a more flexible approach could have been beneficial in this instance. Other companies on the same day seemed to have made different timing decisions that allowed for clearer viewing conditions. I trust you understand my perspective and hope that this feedback can be considered constructively. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing how we might address this issue. Best regards,
If you want an amazing experience, look no further than Aerodiverti. The balloon ride experience is unsurpassed, the staff is nothing short of wonderful, and the entire experience is worthwhile. Paola, Paco and Arturo thank you for making this day one to remember! New! More ways to react to reviews.
My daughter and I arranged for a ballon at the last minute and it was one of the best memories of our 10 days in Mexico. This company was so professional. Everything set up in advance… they thought of everything and their flight crews made us feel that our safety and comfort were the highest priority. The photos before in the early morning are great but the drone video captured that feeling of the flight perfectly and was available to upload to our social media feeds instantly. Look hands down I recommend this company. You wont be sorry and you’ll come away with an amazing experience. We loved them and will definitely go again when we’re back!
Did the private flight with my wife. Super nice experience. Julio was a Great pilote and Lupita got some super pix. ❤️
Una experiencia inolvidable! From start to finish, this company was extremely professional. Our pilot was incredible. I never felt any sort of fear and he definitely knew what he was doing. Our bus driver was awesome as well. 100% recommend this company for the incredible excursion.
