Great hiking trail to the waterfall. However, this is a challenging trail, be prepared for a steep hike down to the fall. Make sure to have good hiking shoes and walking poles.
The road to the trailhead was a little rough, but if you go slow, you will be fine. I did it in a regular 4-door sedan without any problems. The hike down took about 30 minutes. The hike back up took about an hour. Tapalpa is at 6,400 ft (1,950 m), so the altitude might affect you. Reportedly, it is 750 ft (229 m) down to the falls. It's worth the effort. If you are in Tapalpa, you should do it.
I would rate this hike as an intermediate hike. Meaning going down is fairly simple, going back up is a slight challenge. There were people on the trail in various age groups and physical shape. Bring water a hat and good comfortable hiking or tennis shoes.
A beautiful place. If you get an opportunity to go, I warmly recommend. I went twice. First time I swam. Keep away from the waterfall. People have drowned, probably getting too close or under the waterfall. I kept as far as possible from the cascades where it was plenty deep. I paddled back and forth for about 5 minutes: it was most refreshing, I assure you, with lush green trees, a roaring fall, and a bright sun lighting up the trees and rocks on the other side. Always be cautious clambering over boulders in rivers. I went alone the first time, and no one was there, I was at the falls about 9am. Don't swim, don't chamber over boulders, keep safe!
Amazing and beautiful place. Magic in the air.
(Translated by Google) Excellent place for hiking. Bring water and snacks since there is nothing nearby. Besides, there are few indications. The waterfalls are very beautiful and safe to reach. They charge $50 for parking and at the top they sell snacks, it is advisable to go down with the best possible weight, just water and that's it. (Original) Increíble!! Usen protector solar, gorra y agua para hidratarse durante el camino. A buen paso bajan en 1 hora aprox. I've visited several camping sites on the region and this one is now within my top 3. Camping area is clean and well maintained, you'll enjoy some grass, flowers and fruit trees. All of the spaces are properly signaled. There is a neat area with eating space and 2 sinks for you to be able to wash dishes. There are 7 clean bathroom stalls per gender and also 7 shower stalls per gender, these are kept stocked with soap and toilet paper, camping price for 2 adults was $380 Pesos which is average. Mr. José who is in charge of the grounds was really friendly and offered firewood for extra price, we did not buy any since we'd brought our own.you are able to see some fireflies at night and the place felt secure. Will definitely come back to Ecopark Tapalpa.
Fun experience! We came here nearly unannounced (during low season) and two staffers did a great job taking us thru the 9 zip lines that make up the "treetop experience." Beautiful scenery, good equipment, and friendly/helpful staff
I visited this park and tried three different attractions a truly unique experience! The instructors, Guadalupe and José, were incredibly friendly and professional in explaining all the safety rules. They guided us for nearly three hours, making every moment enjoyable and safe. The attractions are set deep in the forest, creating a surreal atmosphere that makes you feel completely immersed in the wild. Everything was carried out with great attention to safety, allowing us to have fun without any worries. Highly recommended!
This place was super fun. The guys who gave us the tour were nice and very helpful. Will definitely come again and stay over bight.
The staff are very professional and have a commendable service attitude. In the middle of a canopy tour I started to feel bad due to a low of sugar and they did everything they could to help. They were very kind.
Great place! Clean, in order, and well taken care of. Streaming hot showers!
Ziplining very safe with guides. Challenging and super fun. Fantastic experience with a caring, knowledgeable staff.
When I played for the tirolesas I taught it was quite expensive but when we did the 9 lines that crossed cañons it is priced accordingly to what they offer. The guides were very helpful and i tied my 3 year old daughter to the harness. She loved it and all the safety requirements were spot on to make the experience fun. It's like a 3 hr activity.

(Translated by Google) Do you already know the fountain (which is just a few steps from the church) and its legend? It is said that if you go to the fountain, you must do so in silence and without criticizing anyone, otherwise you would turn into one of those vipers. I'll tell you about it. On one of the corners of Morelos and Vicente Guerrero streets, three blocks from the main square of the magical town of Tapalpa, is the Pila de las Culebras (Snake Fountain), a stone fountain carved with four serpents with forked tongues. It is said that, at the end of the 19th century, four women lived in Tapalpa: María Teresa, María Eduviges, María Esmeralda, and María Amaranta. They were gossips and were known as the "Marías Lenguas" (Tongue-Tongued Marys), because they would gather at the fountain to gossip and excessively "vibe" at their neighbors. One day, an Otomi witch doctor named Macario passed by the friends' meeting place. Overhearing them gossiping, he warned them that if they continued like this, they would suffer the consequences, and he himself would turn them into what they had always been: "vipers." Of course, the four laughed out loud, mocked, and insulted the witch doctor. The next day, Macario went to drink some water from the fountain, but the gossips were there again, mockingly shouting at him: "Macario, weren't you going to turn us into vipers?" Angrily, he cast a spell in the Otomi language. The women began to convulse and gradually turned into snakes, which were permanently petrified in the stone basin.

It's 15 mins drive from the town of Tapalpa a magical ljttle village on 2200m above sea level. The cabañas are cozy and with quiet birds chirping surroundings. And for tge paraglider livers is a perfect spot to bring your glider there or go for a tandem flight
Beautiful setting for hang gliding on a steep hillside with a nice, clean rustic restaurant. Good food and cold beer! Clean baños. Recommend a visit to watch or fly!
It's the real deal. Todo mundo muy amable. It's not a luxurious place. Rustic and modern and from a point of view that everyone is important. They want you the best, most relaxed, high experience. They impress me that way and I'm an in-law.
Best pizza! Very friendly staff/ownership. Fantastic view. Great to watch the para-gliders take off.
Nice cottages with a great view. We didn't have a grill in ours but the guys found another.
