Poor museum that needs efforts from authorities and sponsors. Great place with potential, but underused.

Smallish plaza dotted with small kiosk stores full of clay figurines and decorations. It's near downtown Metepec, so if you're there this will add color to your visit. The charm is in walking around the plaza almost as much from getting any of the wares being sold. There's a food section and restrooms if needed.

The pottery definitely did not seem handmade since it was the exact same design at each pottery store. It was absolutely hand painted. However, we were expecting more of a variety in the pottery offered.

Hit and miss...some incredible artists working in clay and ceramics. Along with quite a bit of unfortunate bits and baubles for tourists. You need to enter most shops to figure out who produces the interesting and the beautiful.

Amazing little plaza to find some talented masters and artisans. I suggest you check the Azrael Castillo shop as well as the Soteno galleries. Amazing work within budgets and even cheaper than you would find in other parts of Mexico. During the weekdays it's hit or miss with around 40-60% of the shops closed. I didn't get to go on weekends both times but had a great selection of goods available including ceramics, palm art, and huichol. Also they have a banging food court - try the buche pork tacos, delicious!

There are tons of locales to buy artesanía and árboles de vida BUT the locals aren't open most of days. I went there on a Wednesday at 11am and there were only 4 locales open :/ so I didn't have many options to find what I was looking for regarding price /product Very disappointed.
