This place is heaven on earth! The owners care about and conserve the natural resources on this property. The organic farm and vegetarian food make this a model for any community. They have won awards for water conservation and have a state of the art treatment facility. The employees are all from the Tecate area and generations of families have worked at The Ranch. A wonderful community!
My daughter and I are here again after a few years and it never disappoints! If you’re looking for a glitzy, high-end spa experience the ranch may not be your cup of tea but it suits us perfectly. The grounds are serene and beautifully maintained, the food is wonderful and the staff bends over backwards to make your time here memorable. We love the earthiness and serenity of it. Even if we had unlimited funds, we would choose RLP to go to. I highly recommend it.
It’s our first time here and I’m absolutely in love. Service is amazing, and everyone you see guest or staff, is inevitably happy. There is an earthiness and authenticity about this place. It may not be the most modern and fancy, but certainly very charming and serene. Every corner of this place is impeccably maintained. It does not look aged or outdated at all for being 85 years old. It seems to just bring peace when you are here. The classes are also great, instructors are consistently high quality. For other reviews that mention the negatives, to be fair, yes you can hear some traffic on the side of the resort near the road. But it didn’t bother me and our villa is on the other side facing the mountain so it’s very quiet. The food I’d give a 7 out of 10. I’m not vegetarian so that could be a factor. Lunch options are typically salad, sautéed veggies and a soup, maybe a fish taco. Dinners sit-down coursed style but I wish there is more variety in the seafood offered. It’s mostly just white fish. I have not been wowed by the food but it certainly is not unpleasant.
RLP is food for your soul. Treat yourself. It can be hiking and workout classes or spa treatments and relaxing or meditative and healing the mind and body. There are so many options that everyone’s interests are met. Water Dance/Therapy was my favorite. Worth checking out
This was our second visit for a week at the ranch. I did not expect it to be as overwhelmingly wonderful as the first time, but to my surprise it was. This is a very special place with wonderful people both attending us and attending the ranch. It is a visual, physical, and emotional Feast.
This place is magical. It is Heaven on Earth. The staff, the food, the classes are all amazing.
No place like this place!!! Worth every penny and the travel time They are the most accommodating place on the planet
Excellent directions to the main gate to the residences at Rancho La Puerta, which tricky to navigate

Walking distance from the border. Very nice and you get a complimentary beer with your visit. You can smell the hops inside the tasting room. CAUTION there’s a 1 drink limit.
The brewery is not open for tours, only the tasting room is open. This is not the location of the tasting room, do not go to this pin. On maps look up JARDIN CERVEZA TECATE, the entrance is just west of this pin. They give you one free Tecate on draft, you can't purchase any additional beers.
I miss the placita, and I don't know if there are ever going to be more tours again (thanks covid) but it's still rad to go have your free beer once a day and take it all in.
There are currently closed to visitors for remodeling, but when they finish it will be a great place to visit.
No tours until May 2019, but you can have complimentary beer in the tasting room.
Currently closed to visitors for remodel after Heineken purchase.
CLosed probably until Oct 2018!!
Nice place to enjoy a beer

Rather compact, yet easily digestible package. Pretty much sums up the history behind the small town of Tecate in a couple of turns here and there. The price of admission is pretty fair.
I recently visited Tecate, and although there wasn't much to do in the town, I stumbled upon the MUSEO COMUNITARIO DE TECATE, which was a great welcome. It was an amazing experience to explore the museum and learn about the local history and culture. I highly recommend checking it out if you ever find yourself in Tecate.
Loved it they even had an elevator for me being handicap.
A small museum which gives a brief history of the indigenous Kumeyaay as well as how Tecate grew and developed.
I would have rated this higher except all the electronic aids to help explain the exhibits were malfunctioning or nonfunctional. The story is interesting and I'm very happy to have learned more about the native people of this region. Fortunately we had an excellent guide that could fill in for the malfunction of the display aids.
Great place to learn about local history!
Took my wife and son to this museum. The young lady that received us was very welcoming and informative. We enjoyed the pre hispanic exhibit the most. Would definitely recommend.
This is a wonderful treasure of the ancient natives from Baja California and a little garden with the plants of this land. In all the place there are also trees over 100 years old with a divine energy.

Such a nice little park! We love spending a little time here every time we go to Tecate.
When to the government off for some business. People are friendly, government workers are nice enough, the city itself is run down, typical pueblo like buildings and dusty, poorly maintained roads. I went to a Chinese restaurant just a block or two from the main plaza. Food was inexpensive and servings were plentiful. The quality and taste was good. This is not a tourist location. No real night life (not like I stayed overnight or was looking for any), not a lot of shopping options. They do have a shiny new looking Walmart, with some unique products at reasonable prices. Other than why I was there, I don't know a reason why you would want to travel there. Now if you go deeper outside the city, there are pretty nature areas I have been told about, but I have never personally.
it was really good, I came here twice within two weeks on weekdays it's calm and not that busy between 10-3pm
Just right across the US Mexican border... the city's name is Tecate and is rather small in size fut but it's always busy with a lot people from different parts and also tourists. There are good tacos there also... enjoy it my dear friends
This is a wonderful little park. My wife and I drive 1.5 hours often to go and spend half a day here. We eat at the different restaurants. Afterwards, depending on the weather, we enjoy an ice "paleta" or a "raspado."
Wonderful little park to visit! It is surrounded by great restaurants and shops, and they host neat events there! If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy the environment - this park is for you!
Nice shady clean park with benches. Great for a walk or a place to sit and observe the world pass by. With restaurants, ice cream shops, souvenir stores and pubs all around.
It was a great experience. They had a tianguis, lots of artesanias for sale. I bought 2 sets of earrings and a Pancho. Not too far from Tecate brewery.
