Honey ice cream was tasty. Bought some honeys as well. Lots of variety in soaps, sauces, honeys available. Missed the guided tour but saw the bees at work in the glass beehive. Kid friendly spot for colouring while parents look at the shop😉
Pretty little location with a good gift shop to buy honey products, olive oil and merchandise. The honey ice cream is very creamy and nice but not something amazing for you to plan a day for it only if you are driving pass. It's kids friendly, got an area for the kids to play inside and outside with toys and a cubby house.
A wide range of honey flavours, all you can try. Great quality and different honey-based products. Bees are out not in captivity (cruelty free). The atmosphere is very cosy and the counter lady was lovely. The prices are reasonable. Worth the visit!!! Much better than the Kingscote one.
Great tasting experience, unfortunately no honeycombs or bee production in great detail. (There is a educational room located far end of the Shop) Staff were lovely One of the best honey ice creams I've had. MUST TRY. Will come again just for the ice cream and honey ofcourse. 🍯
Fantastic place - family run for 3 generations. We met the daughter Bev, a wonderful and warm woman who gave us a tour of the behind the scenes of the bees and honey production. Very informative learning about the bees, the by-products of propolis and beeswax, and how they extract the honey. The tour finished with a honey ice cream that is moreish (and I must admit I didn't like honey before coming to this farm). The small shop is reasonably priced and well stocked. We enjoyed our visit. Thank you Bev. Support the locals ! Tony & Paul
Certainly a good visit! Out back of the gift shop they have a room with heaps of info on the Bees, with a 'working bees' glass cabinet so we could view the 1000's of bees ..it also had the area where we could watch the bees entering from the outside..fascinating to watch. Is an area for kids to draw pics as well. A very well thought out spot indeed. Are tables n chairs outside under huge trees to enjoy a honey icecream. Heaps of parking space. The owner was passionate and a pleasure to chat with :-)
A wonderful little place to visit on Kangaroo Island! The honey ice cream is delicious and there's a nice little gift shop to browse in with lots of honey-themed treats!
I’d say this is the better shop out of two main ones on KI. Gift shop worth visiting. You should consider buying honey and related products - many years ago the Ligurian bees were introduced from Italy into KI and now KI is the only place with these pure breed bees. Similar story to the camels in WA and NT. Try their ice creams.

Stopped here during a tour of Kangaroo Island, lots of really lovely stuff in their gift shop and reasonably priced as well. We got to see one of the Emus just outside as well as a rescue roo. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and there's a nice cafe inside too. Definitely worth a visit!
The Eucalyptus distillery tour was a surprisingly delightful experience! Learning about the fascinating process of extracting the fragrant oil was very interesting, and the distinct aroma throughout the distillery was wonderful. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making the tour both educational and enjoyable. Plus, the opportunity to sample and purchase unique eucalyptus products was a great bonus. Highly recommended for a unique sensory experience!
Emu Ridge Eucalyptus on Kangaroo Island offers more than just a product; it provides a genuine slice of Australian heritage. The distillery, the only commercial one left in South Australia, revives an industry that was once central to the island's economy. Their flagship product, 100% pure eucalyptus oil, is distilled from the indigenous Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaf Mallee and is known for its unique, pungent aroma. Customers rave about its versatility, using it for everything from household cleaning and stain removal to soothing muscle aches and clearing congestion. Beyond the oil, the Emu Ridge product line includes a variety of natural goods like skin creams, honey sweets, and body washes, all praised for their high quality and natural ingredients. Visitors to the farm gate store frequently highlight the friendly, knowledgeable staff and the authentic, family-run atmosphere. A visit is often described as a must-do for any Kangaroo Island road trip, offering a fascinating tour, a delightful cafe with local produce, and the chance to see rescue kangaroos and emus. It’s a wonderful example of a sustainable, family-owned business that’s proudly preserving a unique part of Australian history.
A must when you visit Kangaroo Island. Food - I had the smashed avo and a coffee, both were amazing! Best coffee on the island! Desserts all looked delicious, great place to stop for breakfast, snacks or lunch. Atmosphere- inviting, warm and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Love the family history, 5 minute video is worth taking the time to see. Products - many wonderful local oils and more. Kangaroo and wallaby sanctuary on the grounds, lovely to see the help and support for local wildlife. Definitely recommend stopping here when you visit the island.
We took the tour and the girl who followed us was very kind in explaining everything to us. The place is really beautiful and also the shop where you can buy real artisan products
Fabulous place to visit , we had our dog Indy & she was most welcome to come inside the gift shop & cafe. The food was excellent, staff friendly & helpful. Definitely recommend a guided tour as there is alot to learn about the distillery. The gift shop was full of local products & particularly the eucalyptus range was outstanding. Loved it!! Made our day. Leanne, Callum & Indy
This was not somewhere that was on my to-do list. I was expecting an over-priced tourist trap on the coach-trip rotation. I've rarely been so pleased to be completely wrong about something. It's a family business with a fascinating history, there's no pushy selling and the staff there seem genuine about their welcome for visitors. A great range of stock - I never thought we'd want so many eucalyptus products. Top tips: Go early and have breakfast in their cafe - trust me on this, you'll not regret it. Take the short but interesting guided tour - great value and well worth it.
A very nice and warmth Emu and eucalyptus oil distillery farm .. saw a little kangaroo which they have saved from a road accident . Their oils are quite good especially the hand cream type that can keep u away from feeling dry in a cold weather. Had their hot chocolate and eucalyptus butter scone in day 1 and came back for breakfast and hot chocolate.. it’s really nice .. don’t miss this when u guys are at Kangaroo Island ..

We were absolutely spoilt by Nina’s friendly service, the beautiful wines, setting, and delectable seafood platter. What a wonderful way to spend a few leisurely hours. Thank you, Nina and team, for creating a unique and special wine tasting experience on Kangaroo Island at Bay of Shoals. We are looking forward to receiving our order of wine in the mail!
Our experience at Bay of Shoals Winery was excellent. We had the wonderful Nina hosting us the whole day, and from the moment we walked in we felt so welcomed. The seafood platter was amazing, did not disappoint. And we came for the sparkling Shiraz and loved it so much we sent 3 cartons home. On top of the excellent service, food and wine was the breathtaking scenery to top it all off.
Absolutely loved our time here !!! We were on a girls trip and we were absolutely spoilt by Nina and Julie !! They took such good care of us and we absolutely enjoyed their company! The wines were delicious.. we have about 18 bottles in transit :) And the food was yum as well! Not to forget the phenomenal location! If you want to be spoilt rotten with good food and wine in paradise … this is it! We can’t wait to be back!
Nice place with beautiful views, and the cheese platter we chose was good and paired well with the wines. We tasted six wines in small pours (not full glasses). The wines were overall fine — the sparkling and the fortified ones were the highlights. However, the explanations about each wine were very brief, which made the experience feel a bit superficial. Overall, it was okay, but we expected a more detailed and engaging tasting.
Thoroughly enjoyed a share seafood platter with tastings. Platter was beautifully presented. A really nice couples experience. Thank you!
We had a lovely experience at the winery. Nina our host was amazing. A truly valuable staff member that goes out of her way to know her business, incredibly talented personality & welcomes you like an old friend. We ordered the seafood platter. Was sooo worth it. Definitely recommend to go visit
What a wonderful experience at Bay of Shoals wines today Thank you Julie for giving us such detailed attention and for imparting your joy of the wines in every sip I’d recommend enjoying the platter as you are having the tasting As it’s very generous, but also delicious We are going onward with a selection of exquisite wines from Bay of Shoals winery
Excellent experience with Nina!!! Had a lovely time tasting wines and sharing a cheese platter!!!

Beautiful spot to stop, we stopped on impulse with no plan. The chips and pizza are amazing and the beers are wonderful to try and then have a few with lunch! It's a popular place to be!
Delicious beer, great burgers and chips with friendly staff. Super clean amenities. Even had a dart board which was fantastic! Will be back again for Pizza!
Kangaroo Island Brewery is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to the island. More than just a brewery, it's a true destination, with a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere that perfectly captures the laid-back island vibe. The setting is stunning, with ample outdoor space to soak in the sun while enjoying a tasting paddle. The beers themselves are exceptional, showcasing a wonderful variety from the classic hop-forward IPA to a unique Sheoak Stout with a subtle, smoky flavor. What makes the experience truly special is how the brewery leans into local ingredients, with each sip feeling like a taste of Kangaroo Island's unique character. The friendly staff are knowledgeable and passionate, and the simple, delicious food menu—especially the pizzas—is the ideal complement to the craft beers. It's a place where you can easily lose track of time, making it the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon.
I recently visited K I Brewing and really enjoyed the beers. A tasting paddle is a great way to sample some of the beers on offer. My personal favourite is the Sparkling Ale with some coming home with me. The outlook is very pleasant and the hot chips and dipping aioli were an excellent snack while I sampled the various beers and my wife tried the ginger beer. While we didn’t try a pizza they looked beautiful. Well worth a visit if you’re on the island and near Kingscote.
There is only one word I could use to describe Mike, the owner and operator, as a whole, which is "passionate". Not only because of his passion for his craft but also his passion for people and their stories. This is a guy who not only loves what he does but also loves who he does it for, which is the peopl. NOt only the people of Kangaroo Island but the people from around the world. Regardless of where you are staying in Kangaroo Island, KI Brewery is a must-do, not only for their fantastic drinks or their amazing food but mainly for their focus on the people. Myself, Shawna, and our two kids loved every moment at this establishment, and we are sure you will too. In short. Beers great, food great, atmosphere great.
Visited the brewery twice on a recent trip to Kangaroo Island. The young man behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. Limited selection of beers on tap but we enjoyed all that we tasted. We also tried the chips, pizza and brisket burger and all were delicious. The chips in particular were the best i have ever had.....so soft and creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside.....and perfectly seasoned. Well worth a visit!
Fell in love with KI Brewery on our last visit and HAD to come back. Certainly not disappointed - great beer! A good range of yummy food; friendly informative staff even when they were busy they had time to share the stories of the Brewery and its products. Visiting from NZ where craft brewing is a big thing - they guys would go well back home! We will be back when next in KI! Thanks team
Disappointing experience overall. Only two of the four taps were working, one of which was just ginger beer. When I ordered a tap beer, I was told there was too much gas in the line, so it was poured from a can instead and still charged $10. Most of the tasting paddle was also poured from cans. Staff were not particularly friendly.

I bought a few pieces for my mum for Christmas - they were stunning! The sea dragon was especially beautiful and an amazingly crafted icon of Kangaroo Island. Fleur (wife of jewellery designer Fred) went above and beyond with her kindness and customer service to ensure the pieces got to me in time. Can’t recommend enough!
Visited gallery on recent holiday to KI. Much conversation re various local artists with Fleur, Fred and Jackson (the dog). Purchased a lovely, limited edition print, by a local artist which Fleur organised to have posted to us on our return home. well worth a visit if in Kingscote.
I find a beautiful place and next time give us a free ticket to your place.
Fine Art KI is a beautiful little gallery in Kingscote. We drop in every time we visit the Island and Fred and Fleur are always welcoming and happy to show us what's new. We have purchased several pieces of art and jewellery over the years and absolutely love every bit. It's not always good for the wallet going in but it is always good for the heart :)
If you are looking for fabulous fine art from some of the most talented artists in Australia, this place should be the first stop on your KI itinerary. I recently bought a fabulous painting by Jenny Clapson, who has works in the National and State Galleries. There are so many more incredible pieces of art and everytime I visit I find something new and uniquely beautiful. Fleur the curator of the gallery has an excellent eye for art. Her husband Fred Peters is a great silver artisan as well. A big tick from me!
This shop is precisely what the name suggests “fine art”...... it “smells” quality / class ! Everything appears to be skilfully, stylishly and elegantly crafted ! All set out and tastefully displayed for a pleasant shopping experience ! If you’re in the market for that perfect gift or just , ....to browse it’s a must visit !
Bought two absolutely gorgeous pieces of original art and ended up having a lengthy chat with the extremely friendly owners. Definitely worth a visit when coming to Kingscote!
This gallery was the highlight of my trip to Kangaroo island! The owners were so lovely and didn't hesitate to tell me about the artists that were featured in the gallery. This is a must stop!

We absolutely reccomend a visit, the site is so well maintained. We were welcomed by Jean, who shared her wealth of knowledge about the local area and history. The museum was outstanding, well done to all those people who have dedicated their time and care to this amazing place.
Extensive volunteer run museum. Great collection of items & photos from the early days to recent times. A collection of farming equipment, tractors, model ships, old communication methods & cinema equipment. All set in a historic homestead built by the first settlers. Very reasonable entry price, but hours are limited. Takes a couple of hours to go through properly, but well worth the time. Highly recommend a visit.
A wonderful historic home and museum. Well presented and set out. So many items to see, took us over 90 minutes to view all the buildings and items. Excellent value and a must for history lovers.
Wonderful staff, unbelievable collection of antiques - all well displayed, portraying life here at South Australia's first settlement since late 1700's
This is a great value little museum. A slightly eclectic mix, but pretty good descriptions in a few places. Definitely worth a visit when in Kingscote.
Great machinery display and very informative and friendly volunteer hosts
A lovely museum, interesting for the whole family.
A must visit on Kangaroo Island it's an absolute gem of a place. one of the best preserved and presented highly recommended. Friendly information.

Lovely detour on a Sunday morning. Very popular with tourists and locals.
Tiny market with fresh artisanal bread & coffee, and featuring local producers and artists offering preserves, prints and industrial metal artwork. Look for the historical police station and you’ll find the market next to it.
This is a cute country market, it was small when we went in April but we found an array of great locally made and sourced goods and we'd love to see this market grow. We had just gotten off the ferry and had time to spare before booking into our holiday house. We loved that we had the opportunity to grab a good coffee, picked up some great second hand woolen jumpers and beanies, the yummiest stout sour dough and dukkah made by a local baker, bees wax wraps and some beautiful homemade cakes and treats.
Always a great market wide range of food, bread, veggies, honey, and lots of other awesome products!! at the bay of shoals winery 🍷🥂🍯☕🍟🍲🍨
Everything about this market is lovely, from the breads to the scented candles. AND, it's held at the Bay of Shoals Winery 😋
Quaint little market with beautiful hand crafts and great food and coffee

Lovely little place of local artists’ work, the lady there was so warm and welcoming. It’s definitely a place that’s worth visiting.
The lady that served me was very warm and helpful. I felt she was quite happy to have a chat and offer advice. Ended up buying some beautiful cards created with local photographs
A nice place for locals to showcase their art. It's run on a volunteer basis by the artists who are featured inside.
Lovely collection of locally-created art work. We ended up getting a gorgeous xanthorrhoea print and had a lovely chat with the purveyor!
I exhibit my Kangaroo Island photography in the front room, plus I retail-volunteer once a month - so I love visiting!
Bloody Awesome, coz my wife works & has her stuff in there......Plus the local Art work is pretty darn good.....Cheers..

Lovely and fresh. Too early for us to swim...
50m lap if you want. Not sure why people need to be told not to release sharks into a pool!
Nice little spot in Kingscote and part of the coastal walk. The pool was well used when we visited in Oct 2025. Nice views and photo opportunities
Looks like a lovely place to while away a few hours when it’s warm. Quiet, with a slice of sandy beach, wooden shelters, an outdoor shower, a toilet block and a small car park.
Such a lovely beautiful, unpolluted saltwater pool. If I had known it was here I would have worn my Speedos underneath and taken a quick dip!
Really nice spot for a swim or a fish off the rocks
It’s a nice natural pool, ❤️
It's a nice pool, good for a swim for sure. Just a little run down so reminded me a bit like a dam, but good clean water, few smaller fish.
