This place was recommended to me, so I popped in and grabbed a wrap. First impression when I walked in was how clean the place was. Then there was a friendly greeting from not one, but 3 counter staff. A special shout out to the young man who served me - so polite and friendly - great service. The wrap was so good. Fresh salad, fresh chicken and it really was one of the best wraps I’ve had. I’ve heard they also do a great pie!
Good diesel prices and a good array of bakery goods. Toilets were not up to scratch however the addition of the big galah and other tourist sites were novel. Lots of merchandise to buy inside - too much cashing in.
The Big Galah and Gift Shop Bakery in Kimba was a wonderful surprise on our journey from Port Augusta to Ceduna. As we stopped to refuel and grab a bite to eat, we were greeted by the friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious - I had a bacon and egg roll and coffee that was not only tasty but also very reasonably priced. The real highlight of our visit was seeing the iconic Big Galah perched proudly at the entrance. It's a fun and quirky Aussie landmark that's definitely worth a photo opportunity. The gift shop attached to the bakery was also well-stocked with a wide range of souvenirs and gifts that showcased local produce and Australian-made products. Located halfway across Australia, The Big Galah and Gift Shop Bakery is a great place to take a break, refuel, and snap some photos. Whether you're looking for a quick bite to eat or some unique souvenirs to take home, this spot is definitely worth a visit. We'd highly recommend stopping here on your journey across Australia - you won't be disappointed!
Grabbed an early morning coffee and bacon and egg sandwich. Everything was well set up and freshly cooked. The female staff member was friendly and helpful. The coffee was great and the sandwich was fresh and tasty. The Big Galah was nicely painted.
Outside very good for the big gallaha but in the roadhouse very poor. Service poor and very little souvenirs to choose from but took lots of pics
Great photo stop. Shop has gifts and snacks. Good place to get a cup of tea or coffee when your on the road
I love this place! Such a quirky shop. I didn't realise till we got here that it is half way mark for Australia, east to west.
Nice coffee shop and foods. Toilets are clean and well maintained. Better to sop here while driving from Port Augusta to Border Village

Kimba Silo Art is an absolute must-see if you’re on a silo art trail! The artwork is stunning and incredibly detailed, capturing the essence of the local landscape and community. A great photo stop and well worth the detour — you won’t be disappointed.
Kimba Silo Art, a must-see highlight in Kimba! An amazing artwork, perfect for photos and quiet appreciation. What an incredible piece of art — so beautiful and impressive. The giant mural brings a powerful sense of peace and hope, capturing both the spirit of the land and the people. Standing before it, you can’t help but feel moved by its scale and meaning. A true landmark of regional Australia. Day 2 of our road trip — 14/5.
Easy to see from the viewing platform. Also more paintings around town
Some lovely artwork and worth a stop especially at night
One great artist left this brilliant artwork here. And unbelievably, he did it all by himself alone. It's really worth to be visited. But just standing in the viewing area, not get too inside. There would be a strong beard gaurd man staring at you and telling you should go another way.
Beautiful silo art of Kimba! A nice stop when you explore Eyre Peninsula!
There needs to be more silo art. This one is brilliant! We love it.
Amazing and such a beautiful painting A credit to the artist and the town

Interesting metal sculptures at site of white knob scenic lookout. The information board details the exploits of Edward John Eyre. Great views over area, appreciated finding the short walk to caves in rocks which have been used by school children over man years.
Edward John Eyre is not showing a finger, he is navigating. There is a bit of everything here: views, art, history, ironstone cave and native vegetation. Worth the drive and the short walk from the roadside.
I do love some quirky art. Well done to the creator
Great view, sculptures captures spirit. Informative bit of Aus history.
Nice view, interesting history, cool metal work.
Great place for a pic. Nice view
Rustic and rusty, solid 4/5 stars

Love the peaceful atmosphere here. There are pavilion and cave trails here deserving to be visit.
Great place to look over the countryside, not far from Kimba, about 12kms.
Great information about Edward John Eyre & his travels across the Great Australian Bight & the Nullarbor Plains to Albany... the statues are kinda creepy, very tall & very rusty...cool little walk around to see some natural caves & views of Kimba are a bit obscured by trees.... very dry out there, bring some water... has a sheltered area where u could have lunch.
Something else to do in Kimba! A peaceful little spot!
Great view over Kimba township and also to see the large iron sculptures of Edward John Eyre..
Nice views out over Kimba and if you've got a long telephoto lens (400mm plus) you can still get a reasonable shot of the silo art. There is also a sculpture commemorating the Eyre expeditions in the area, and a table and chairs to sit and take it in.
Scenic view of kimba. Beautiful place. A good place for relaxing on a long road trip. Sheltered benches and free wifi available
Great views. Sculptures are great. Depending on traffic and wet weather, best not to take a big van past the first car park. Interesting little walk past some caves just under the lip of the hill too.

A bit of a milestone novelty to a lot of travellers. Enjoyed gettin this far seeing some of Australia's sights, places and town's big and small.
It is exactly what it says, it's halfway across the country lol
Just up the road from the Big Galah
Pie and sausage roll much better than expected. They had probably sat in the pie warmer a tad too long but happy as it was just what we wanted. The coffee wasn’t the best so would give that a miss next time
Really cool that this sign exists, and just knowing that I'm already halfway there is amazing.
Loved this little town- Kimba 💕 Awesome gift/souvenir store, big range of items. We met the lady who painted the large Cocky. She was finishing off the mosaicking on the Cocky’s feet. All the local people are so friendly and welcoming.
Funky wall with heaps of stickers & people's names & places they live...it was cool.
Always a great photo opportunity. The sign itself has some interesting reading. Great rest area.

My husband and I went for a guided tour today with Lyle. We found the experience really informative and got to see some really interesting pieces including a Fiat tractor. Lyle is a wealth of knowledge not only of the area but of individual pieces. We highly recommend paying the extra money for the tour.
The Kimba Museum has a large range of historical memorabilia dating back to the early 1900’s. At only $5 the entry fee is great value for the opportunity to experience a piece of Kimba’s history.
The museum was just amazing however the man showing us around was not interested at all and made us feel very unwelcome. Most definitely worth a look. Keep up the good work kimba community
