The gardens and grounds themselves alone are worthwhile visiting - more extensive than we expected, and really beautiful with such a variety of flowers. Some were still flowering in autumn, we imagine it will be even more beautiful in spring (especially the extensive rose gardens)! No parking or entrance fee to the gardens, only the house. We saw lots of picnics on the lawns/grounds.
Carrick Hill House was the home of Sir Edward Hayward and his wife Ursula. The estate was built in 1930s. It was bequeathed to the State Government of SA after Sir Edward's death in 1983. During my visit on 27 July 2025, the house was still closed for conservation, until 1 August 2025. However, the garden is still open for the public as usual. I think both the house and the garden are worth visiting, but a small ticket is required for visiting the house with a guided tour (booking is required). With such beautiful garden and generous approach by Sir Edward's donation of his beautiful house to allow public accessibility to enjoy walking in his garden and visiting his house to see the historical furnitures, decoration and construction, paying a small ticket ($20 per adult or $3 per child upto 15 yrs old) to ensure sustainable management and long term running of this beautiful historical building is totally acceptable. The garden was spectacular, even I visited during winter. I think I will visit in again in Summer or Autumn to see any even more beautiful garden together with a guided tour for visiting the house.
Beautiful building that has been loved and cared for by the team so we can enjoy it. The gardens are beautiful too. Fantastic way to spend a few hours or half a day so close to the city centre.
Beautiful grounds, lovely view of the city, lots of lawns, flowers and a few picnic areas, all accessible for free. There ia a new cafe, but it was very busy when I visited on Sunday lunchtime. The car park was also packed, difficult to find a spot. The grounds close at 430pm, so don't expect to stay late in summer.
What a surprise I got today visiting this great SA treasure. I had never heard of this place and ca.e across it by accident. The locals are doing a great job keeping this gem a secret. $20 entry. Well spent. Great works of art are displayed and breathtaking antiques.
Really awesome and very old style setting, but amazing in views and CHH is just amazing in all its rich history. Grounds are immaculate and views are seriously - stupendously sensational.
Such a beautiful historic location to visit. It's amazing to be able to walk through a home that's virtually unchanged from how it was originally. Not to mention how lovely the gardens are. It's had some additions recently which are great but would have been cool if they'd kept more to the house's theme.
Absolutely stunning property with heaps of history. Definitely recommend visiting it. The volunteers are very welcoming and knowledgeable. We were lucky to come in right before the tour at 14.30 with Pamela and she was absolutely amazing with a lot of passion and knowledge for the place. We had a wonderful time there. Definitely would like to come back around Christmas time with all decorations out

Whether looking for Coles weekly savings, or Foodland, you can compare. Cinema is awesome, but I can't find a Wendy's anywhere close! Just for Wendy's hotdogs
Mitcham Square is a great local shopping centre — clean, convenient, and community-friendly. It has everything you need in one place: supermarkets, cafés, a cinema, and specialty stores. Parking is usually easy, though the time limits can be a bit frustrating. Perfect for a quick shop or a relaxed coffee and movie.
Another amazing supermarket. I found a decent selection of disposable gloves for a home bbq/ function. They also had the best & most awarded Australian olive oil “Francesco” They even carry a huge range of “Organic Choice & Orange Power” home cleaning products. So glad I shopped here & will be coming back!!!
Took my grandson to an appointment there and whilst waiting took my other grandson for a baby cino and jelly cup while I had a flat white and tiramisu cake.
A quaint little shopping complex with a nice range of stores..I especially liked the Toy Store, had some very practical but interesting toys...for young & old...🤣🤣
Great little spot, random variety of shops but I love it
why not knock the joint down and plop the KFC headquarters, because it would be convenient for me, no one else gets a say
Enough parking for busy times, easy layout and loads of food options

Beautiful old church very tranquil setting
St Michael's Anglican Church is on Church Rd, Springfield. This historic gothic church was built in the 1860's overlooked the then village of Mitcham. There is much charm in the furnishings, particularly the redross behind the alter. A verandah flows to a modern hall. The congregation is energetic and engaging.
Beautiful building and grounds. The main religious leader is into control
Very friendly and welcoming with David, a vibrant young priest
Lovely old church. Full of character
Beautiful Church
