A Treasure Trove A lovey cottage full of local handmade crafts and produce mostly sold on consignment on behalf of the Yarn Market Craft Cottage members. You can find all sorts of hand knitting, baby goods, wooden toys, patchwork and quilts. There is a lot to see and the members obviously take great pride in their work, the good prices make it easy to choose but a little difficult to walk away. The cottage is staffed by locals who are very friendly and have a vast knowledge of the regions history, so interesting to talk to.

I love this little local craft shop so much I plan my trips to Central West NSW to always detour via Molong. First, I love the concept behind this shop. Locals making things to support the retirement accommodation run by this association for the elderly helping them to stay in their community. Second, staffed by lovely older Molong locals, a visit here transports me to a time when having a chat was part of the shopping experience. Take the time to have a conversation and find out about life in Molong. I don’t pay a lot of attention to the some of craft things on offer (I will make an effort next time) however I am obsessed with the jams and chutneys. Nothing mass produced here. In jars of all sorts of sizes, the labels and hand written (spidery handwriting on some) complying with what we need to know. Ask the volunteer staff and you discover the jam maker’s name and that they grew the berries/fruits locally, then making the jam. The preserves are just wonderful. I told you I am obsessed. I never leave without a box of jars to take home. I had better get back there to contribute to the Molong economy and retirement project.

A Great Variety Of Goods Made By Local People..Jams Relish Pickles Biscuits Cakes and the Best Rocky Road.. Aprons chopping Boards Scarves Beanies Children's Clothing Rugs Quilts and the List Goes On...Theres even Molong Town Teatowels for The Tourists.. Wooden Toys are the Best you'll See Any Where.. Come on in and You Will Be Greeted by Friendly Volunteers..
