We spent a terrific half hour here one afternoon, and probably could have been longer, except we were rushing to do too much. The staff are super friendly and the shop is full of amazing little surprises. There is a great section with ALL the information about bees and bee keeping and honey. And the two best bits, are the extensive honey tasting and the selection of fabulous honey flavoured icecreams. If you are in the area you really shouldn't miss it. Extra bonus: the glass sided bee hive where you can see the inner workings of the bees world.
Such a great experience trying all of the varieties of flower blossom honey flavours along with nut, chocolate, fruit, spice/chili, pollen/royal jelly augmented varieties and taking home bottles of my favourite flavours. Plenty of high quality local bee/honey themed products along with delicious non alcoholic meads, skincare/beauty products, bees wax candles and of course the decadent honey ice-creams!
We were in Tas from interstate and of course had to visit a honey farm. There were about 35 or so varieties of honey to sample. The gift shop is also quite large with sooooo many attractive and unique items to purchase. I bought myself a vase and salt and pepper shakers. The ice cream i tried was also very tasty. Of course items in the shop vary in price, but no one is forcing you to buy. Toilets onsite which is very handy.
Melita Honey Farm is a delightful spot to explore and buy various types of honey. The staff are exceptionally friendly, making the visit even more enjoyable. I particularly liked the lemon lime honey, which had a unique and refreshing taste. Visitors have the opportunity to try different honey varieties before making a purchase, which is a nice touch. There is convenient street parking available, along with a few parking lots beside the shop. I also bought some Manuka honey for myself. Overall, Melita Honey Farm is a charming place with a great selection of honey and excellent customer service.
Malita Honey Farm is the perfect example of how one beautiful theme can be brought to life in every detail. From the moment you step in, you can feel the love and creativity poured into the place. It’s not just a shop — it’s an experience! 🍯 They’ve got everything from delicious honey tastings infused with unique flavours to skincare, home décor, and an incredible info deck that teaches you so much about bees and honey. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated and full of charm. Truly a place where passion meets creativity — a sweet stop that shouldn’t be missed in Tasmania! 💛🐝
I suspect this honey is no longer pure. I recently bought a new bottle of Leatherwood honey and compared it with the one I purchased back in 2020. The older bottle clearly stated “100% pure honey” on the label, but this new one doesn’t. Visually, the texture has changed — it’s become slightly solid and lighter in color, which makes me wonder if the formula or quality has changed. I’ve attached a photos. The bottle on the left was purchased around 2020, and the one on the right in 2025.
Absolutely need to pop in and check this wonderful shop and area out. We enjoyed going out of our way to enjoy the honey and many different products Melita Honey had to offer. The location and shop is entertaining for kids, fun enjoyable and entertaining for all ages. Pop in and find skim care products and soo much more
5 Stars! So much honey it's not funny :) We were gobsmacked by the amount of flavours here. My favourites are the Leatherwood and Lavender honey. I also bought a small jar of chili honey that I like to add to marinades and also have with my cheese and crackers. So good! We have been here twice now and have enjoyed the experience. Staff are so nice and have a wealth of info. to share. Didn't know that bees were so interesting. If driving through, don't miss.
