It was a beautiful visit! The lily pond in early October was not as stunning as in the summer time when I had first visited here. But it was probably less crowded. What an inspiring place! The town has certainly become more popular with visitors, though.
Monet's house and Gardens were a must see on my trip to France. We were just there a few weeks ago (late September) and the gardens were lush and absolutely stunning. We had entry tickets at 12pm and didnt have to wait. It was a great time of year to visit, we got a mix of very colorful flowers, autumn changes starting but also a good amount of water lilies that had bloomed. Really stunning. We walked into the town of Giverny after walking through the house and gardens and it was such a quaint town. We stopped at the Giverny chocolat shop, very good! Highly recommend a stop in Giverny!
Always wanted to visit and I wasn't disappointed. Even in mid October, the gardens are still beautiful with many flowers in bloom. The lily pond had a bit of scum on but still pretty. The house is lovely. So many original photos and paintings, though few of Monet's. Then of course there is the shop. Lots of lovely gifts and books. Plenty of free parking with free overnight campervan parking nearby.
Visiting Claude Monet’s house has been my dream, and it finally came true. The place is truly stunning and incredibly captivating from a design perspective. Every detail is beautifully crafted, and the colors are chosen to perfection. The garden is well-kept and absolutely gorgeous, with the iconic lily pond I had always wanted to see - simply remarkable. The entire estate is so well maintained, and being there felt like touching something truly sublime.
We stopped here on our way to Normandy from Paris and were amazed at all the blooming flowers in late September. Monet’s house was a quaint cottage with beautiful views of the gardens. The restaurant food was delicious and the server was wonderful. Highly recommend it!
I don't know where to start! The house is a piece of art the gardens are pieces of art, the whole town is cute! Absolutely beautiful. Things that should be considered, how to get there, the season, the crowd, so that you know what to expect,I've been there twice, in June it was super hot super crowded but beautiful, and in October , chill weather less crowded, less flowers but the trees were magical
It was quite crowded for a rainy October day. I think it's quite difficult to get there in the summer. When you get off the train from Paris, you have two transportation options: a shuttle and a bus that resembles a children's train. Both cost 10 euros. I don't think the shuttle bus runs between 1:20 and 3:20, so keep that in mind when planning your return train. Monet's extensive Japanese collection was quite striking. The interior was quite colorful. If you don't plan to spend much time taking photos and want to explore the village, 3-3.5 hours is more than enough. There's an interesting mechanical museum in Giverny, open from 2 pm to 6 pm. Time your visit accordingly for a more enjoyable trip. Other than that, it's a typical European village.
Absolutely beautiful but very very crowded. The gardens are very easy to walk with wonderful displays of flowers. The lake is spectacular The house is easy to navigate and quite lovely we had approximately a 15 min queue to enter. I would advise you to buy tickets on line before hand the queues for tickets were massive. We got on line tickets so had no wait time. Parking is plentiful and free. There's a good choice of restaurants and cafes just outside the gardens they are quite pricey.

The place was very beautiful, but there were so many people and it took a very long time to find a parking spot. I recommend you to go there early morning to avoid the traffic. And I also recommend you to climb the hill. You could see the amazing view from there !
The natural formation is in itself spectacular but it's the color of the ocean around it, the color of the cliffs, the sound of the ocean, the waves, the cries of the seagulls, the tall grass growing on the hills bending to the wind, the wild flowers, creating that picturesque landscape, all coming together for an unforgettable experience and ambience. When it's cloudy, the colors are so special somehow. The walk up to either side to the see the views is not bad at all, like a ten minute climb. Enjoy your experience! Take a picnic up to the top of the hill to enjoy the serenity longer!
A piece of heaven. Loved the place long time back when I went there for work and fall in love with it. A wonderful place with an amazing view. This time spent a full day and weather was exactly what you expected to have the best experience. A must see place in west of France
What more can you say? Stunning natural rock formations, a postcard-worthy arch, crashing waves, and... scattered German concrete bunkers. It’s a mix of dramatic cliffs, windswept plains, and wartime history that somehow works. The views are breathtaking from both above and below — and when the wind picks up, walking becomes a full-body sport. A place that impresses without even trying. :)
Absolute must see in the Normandy, breathtaking views and a unique feeling. Very crowdy, don’t try to park in the city , you will fail :) better to stay a kilometer or so before the coast and take a walk instead. Or go there early in the morning, then you will be able to find a parking spot near the edge. Otherwise be prepared paying 25euros / day to locals offering parking spaces in their gardens :) Lot of restaurants and shops in the area, but most important are views from the cliffs. There’s also a small „train” which takes you to the cliff on the right (that one with church on the top) .
The arch and scenary is, like in so many places around the coast of Normandy, incredible. Walking to the top is worth it if you want to enjoy the view. A few things to note: Walking to the top takes a while and may be exhausting. Given the step stairs, it is impossible for people having problems with walking or stairs. Though some basic railing exists, especially children should be very careful. Especially around summer the area is a tourist hot spot and therefore full of people. This will certainly slow you down too.
This place is amazing! If you are into hiking, I'll recommend to you to park your car outside the downtown. Go to parking area so called "my parking etretat" and then walk few minutes to small street called "Petit Valaine". At the beginning it's lil bit climby and then you will find big field on your left, and golf course area on your right. Just walk following the golf shape of the golf course until you'll find the magnificent view. This path is unofficial walk, but I saw some local going through this path and also this path is MUCH better because there is no STEEP stairs (I noticed the official path has steep stairs). So with this path, you will just go downhill instead of uphills. Worth to try.
It is a very inspiring place, even Monet created 90 paintings on Etretat as subject , amazing place that make me spend two week to paint it in impasto style

Absolutely beautiful! One of the most breathtaking churches I have been too! Walking inside takes your breath away. The ceilings are giant, the statues amazing and the stained glassed windows just wow! We didn’t have to pay to enter. It is breathtaking. Loved all the statues on the outside with the gargoyles everywhere.
Impressive, monumental cathedral in every sense of the word. With highly detailed, intricate sculptures piling on every inch of the building, it is a stunning, beautiful structure all around. There is a large tent set up in the front currently, perhaps for a reception or important event, it obstruct part of the front view. Walk around and to the back, the design continues to impress. There are cafe shops, restaurants and fast food takeout, pastries, souvenir shops nearby. The uniquely frrncg architecture, medieval looking town is so quaint and pretty to visit. Wear comfortable shoes as the town is walkable and all cobblestoned, it can be hard on the feet after a while. There are several other great attractions earby such as the large clock, Jeanne D'Arc church...all are must-see monuments. I didn't go inside the cathedral (not religious) just love European flares, history and art.
A breathtaking masterpiece of Gothic architecture — one of the most magnificent cathedrals in all of France ⛪✨. Standing before it feels like stepping back through centuries of history, art, and faith. Every detail, from the intricate façade to the towering spire, tells a story of devotion and craftsmanship. 🏛️ What Makes It Special The cathedral inspired Claude Monet, who painted it over 30 times to capture how light changes its appearance — and when you stand there, you understand why. The play of light and shadow across the façade is mesmerizing, especially during sunrise and sunset. Inside, the soaring ceilings and stained-glass windows create a peaceful, almost spiritual silence. 🕰️ Historical Importance Built between the 12th and 16th centuries, it houses the heart of Richard the Lionheart and remains one of the tallest church structures in France. Despite damage during wars and lightning strikes, it has been beautifully restored — a symbol of Rouen’s resilience. 📝 Practical Info ✅ Free entrance ✅ Light show (in summer months) — a must-see experience that brings Monet’s vision to life 🎨 ✅ Nearby cafés and shops for a perfect cultural stroll afterward A place that leaves you speechless — not just for its beauty, but for its soul. Whether you’re religious or not, standing here fills you with awe and peace. ⸻ For more tips follow me on Google. The church is beautiful and impressive! You can spend a good time admiring all the details on it. During the evening (10:30pm) they had a light show - it was SO BEAUTIFUL. It had history and beauty in the show and it was captivating. It’s for free, you just need to get around the church and enjoy the free experience. Highly recommend.
Huge impressive cathedral. Tribute to Jeanne d'Arc. Unfortunately, some parts have been distroyed in WW2, and renovated using concrete, and glass windows, instead of vitrages.
Impressive cathedral with wonderful stained glass windows and a crypte. You don’t need to be history or architecture savvy to appreciate this! The impressive tree next to the cathedral was planted in 1797 to commemorate the French Revolution.
Glorious cathedral both inside and out and the 10:30 light show was worth the wait. There are so many intricate designs and figures throughout the building that you could spend hours just checking them out.
Visiting the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris was an absolutely breathtaking experience. It’s truly one of the world’s most stunning architectural masterpieces. It’s amazing to see how beautifully it’s been restored after the devastating fire in 2019. The cleaned marble and vibrant stained glass made the interior glow like never before! Even with the long line (though I’m glad it moved quickly!), it was worth every second. There’s something so magical about standing inside a place with so much history and artistry. Seeing the rose windows, the stained glass windows, the sculptures, and the architecture was awe-inspiring. Notre-Dame always leaves a lasting impression. This 850 years old treasure is back and as magnificent as ever. If you are in Paris it is definitely a must see.

The Funicular is a great alternative to the steps which are very steep! Quite fun and free which is also a great bonus, there is no queues as the there is 4 running at once. Takes around 1 minute.
Splendid view, wonderful scenery. Excellent for sightseeing. 🤩🏞️
It's absolutely free, and the view you can see on the top is marvelous
Free funicular! Such an excellent surprise
A great alternative to the stairs, and it is free of charge to use! Be warned during summer time it can get quite long lines to get down and to go back up! The boxes have no ventilation so during sunny weather it is very stuffy and humid but it is about 5 minute decent or ascend. The middle aisle is the best as it has two cabins going up and down :)
Great little fun experience, no queues when we visited (6.00pm ish). Free to board and fantastic views from the top..a little windy up top thou 😀
It is lovely to be able to use the Funicular, and for it to be free, it certainly wouldn't be that way in our country
Free and very efficient. Fantastic views from the top of the cliff.

We were welcomed with a delicious cocktail and then allowed to take that up to the museum portion before the guided tour. The museum was beautiful and very interesting. The guided tour portion was fantastic, our guide was very knowledgeable. The tour ended with a tasting of 3 Benedictine varieties with explanations, overall a great experience.
It was interesting, but not really our cup of tea. It seemed many people enjoyed the tour, but it fell short of our expectations. Also, not being drinkers, the sample tasting of the Benedictin liquors did not sit well with either my wife nor me. But, as I said, I think the place is great for most visitors, just not a match for us.
My family loved our visit to the Palais Benedictine! The building is stunning with such an interesting collection in the museum. We enjoyed the welcome cocktail and love that we able to bring home the souvenir cups! So clever how the cocktail recipe is printed on the cup. They even gave our daughter a non-alcoholic beverage. The staff and tour guide were friendly and knowledgeable. We took an English tour and our guide was charming! Such fascinating history. It was nice to have time to explore the museum on our own before the tour. The setup of the displays with interactive screens was very well done, the tour was well organized and informative, and the tasting at the end was a fun treat. Great experience!
Palace is beautiful and interesting, but it’s just a couple of rooms - and I think it doesn’t worth 60 eur for 2 persons per visit (tickets + audioguide)
It was an interesting visit, also giving you the chance to enter this beautiful palace. Unluckily there are only two kinds of tickets, children and adults, a bit expensive because they include several liqueur tasting even for the people who do not drink. There is a fresh welcome drink served with lime juice, then the tour starts with the discovery of flavours, ingredients and history of the liqueur, ending with the final tasting of all the kinds of Bénedectine that are produced, and that are also available in the shop.
We can only be "awed" by the architectual offering!
Nice palace and tour, but it’s a shame to provide only one English session per day. On the web site they mentioned that it’s not a problem - you can get a audio guide - but it covers only 50% of your, next 50% will be conducting in French language (producing, cellar, etc).
Interesting place to visit. Only organized groups tour are allowed. We didn't have English speaking group, so joined a French language group and received a brochure to follow up. A couple of rooms were closed, so the tickets' price reflected that - it was correct. The guides were pleasant and answered our questions in English, when was possible. The video went into loop, so the group was seating and watching it second time - probably scared from exam at the end of a tour:) The tasting was well organized with 3 out of 4 type of spirit presented. Overall - a pure touristic spot. We left with a feeling that it was questionable to drive 45 minutes for it. Average value for your money.

Humbling and impressive church rebuilt to also act as a memorial to the previous church and lives lost to the bombings that leveled a lot of the city in the WWII 1944/1945 timeframe to include the hommage to the priest who lost his life going down with his church. Very modern and sobering structure now. Worth the story and understanding, especially with the carnage photos.
Surprisingly great brutalist church. Imposing architecture and magnificent lights inside thanks to the artistically tinted glasses. Perfect combination with the austere concrete interior decoration. Amazing
Unique angular and modern architecture with a single tall steeple covered in coloured glass. Worth the trip to go inside to admire the colours. Even the seating is non traditional with pews on the sides of the central stage.
A truly unique and beautiful church Can easily spent hour here just by admiring the architecture I had mixed feelings like being on the spaceship 😂
This quite modern church tower can be seen almost anywhere in Le Havre. Quite an imposing structure, modern because Le Havre was flattened in WW2.
Most extraordinary church, I've ever been to. Great acoustic, and impressive piece of architecture
What a beautiful church, I lovely walk upto it past some boutique shops, it's cold inside (we visited in February off a cruise) but the stained glass and serenity is wonderful. €2 cash to light a small candle if you are thinking of this, no cards here as far as I can see. Free to enter here too.
Visiting this church was one of the greatest and most meaningful experiences of my life. The building is simply stunning - impossible to adequately capture in words. I lit a candle for my departed daughter. 10 years on but never forgotten.

This is an extraordinary work of modern architecture which seems totally at odds with the rest of the square in which it sits but it becomes more appealing as you look further and inside. It it a daring piece of design. Inside the space is bright and contemporary but set with the lead light windows of an ancient church. The space is enclose by a convex roof , the opposite of the pointed arch in most churches. The playful fish shaped windows add lightness but also meaning. A great space.
The Church of Saint Joan of Arc in Rouen was one of the most moving stops on this trip to France. The Church is in the square where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. Never in a million years did I think I'd find myself here! There's a simple cross marking the spot, and standing there gave me chills. The church itself is… truly unique. It looks nothing like your typical cathedral. The outside is covered in these overlapping tiles that look like scales- very dramatic and almost sea creature like. It had been explained how the roof was made to look like flames (symbolizing her execution) and an overturned Viking ship outside, almost looking like a hat. Super symbolic, and once you know this information, the design makes a lot more sense! Inside, peaceful and very colorful. All the stained glass windows are unbelievably stunning! This place is absolutely worth seeing if you are anywhere near Rouen! The history and the design combined is unlike anything I've ever seen!
This church honestly looks more like a parliament building than a traditional place of worship! Entry was free when I visited (it reopened at 2pm), which was a nice bonus. The building’s unique shape really stands out—it's unlike any other church or cathedral I've seen in Normandy. The stained glass windows are quite pretty, too. The location is a bit odd, though—right in the middle of the square, which doesn’t seem like the most natural spot for it. I actually thought the symbolic stake and the surrounding gardens outside felt more fitting for the setting. Overall, definitely worth a visit just to see something different!
This is a church, monument, and complex dedicated to Joan of Arc. The entire complex was built on where she was burnt by the British. Now, it is a nice area for shopping and restaurants. Overall, a nice experience to learn about her saga and the history of this period in France.
First they burned her, then made her a saint. What an irony. The church has very unique architecture, it's not like any other churches I have seen before. It's interesting that locals were not big fans of it, and even protested against it. Nevertheless it's here, in the middle of the Market Square. A nice place to sit and watch people, and think about your life. Do not miss the place where she was actually burned, to the left from the entrance.
Sadly the church was locked up the day we visited. It's very unusual looking building and I personally did not like it much. Outside is, apparently, the spot where Joan of Arc was burnt to the stake. So dread.
Interesting church, placed in a place where executions were performed. The roof is extraordinary, resembling a dragon or a viking boat. The interior is something different from every church I've seen.
This modern church looks less like a traditional place of worship and more like a Viking longship docked in the city — a drakkar with holy vibes. Built in the 1970s right where Joan of Arc was burned, it’s a bold mix of history and futuristic design. Inside, the minimalist, light-filled spaces are so calm you might forget you’re not on a Scandinavian cruise. Definitely a church that’s sailing against the architectural tide. :)

It's a wonderful place to visit. You'll definitely spend about two hours there, exploring the gardens and museum. It's definitely a great trip idea. However, the store prices were very high, which was very disappointing. I only managed to buy three postcards. Still, it was a wonderful experience.
Wonderful gardens, well worth a visit - however, immensely crowded, there is no limit to the number of people allowed in. Nearby are a few nice restaurants. Also the Museum of Impressionism (separate ticket). The line to enter Monet's house was too long, but we've seen it before. We prefer more time in the gardens, which in late May when we visited, were bursting with color.
Nice museum, not a lot of Impressionism but mainly related artwork and contemporary influenced art. It’s worth the detour if you have the time. Don’t be sad to skip it. Best is the garden flower arrangements. The staff is friendly and helpful. The museum is often empty
Great collection. Perfectly sized. It’s about an hour to go around all the pieces and take them in. Plus, you can go for a walk around the connected gardens. We bought an ice cream outside and went around the lawn, very pleasant.
It was really less than I expected. But it is a neat and good place for lovers of impressionist art. The staff was very professional and courteous. Overall, I recommend visiting and shopping at the museum store.
Fantastic Air Conditioning! Clean bathrooms! Cute boutique. Modern building! Uhhh...the art is also interesting. They have lesser known American impressionists and contemporary art. But mostly, it's quiet, cool, and a respite from the hordes at Claude Monet's house down the block.
Even during a rainy day this place is a must-see for art / Monnet / impressionist lovers! It is a well-maintained garden in principle with a pond with a ‘Japanese bridge’ that only truly art-insensitive guest will not recognize…
A little too many people. It is better to go on weekdays and buy tickets in advance otherwise you will stand in line for too long. It is better to come there in the morning

Place du Vieux-Marché in Rouen, France! This square has everything I love in a European city, the history, atmosphere, beautiful architecture, and the kind of energy that makes you want to stay!! It’s hard to believe this peaceful, lively place is where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. You can sit in front of the Church of Saint Joan of Arc, just steps from her execution site, and watch life unfold around you. The contrast between the past and present here is wild and very moving. The square is surrounded by medieval buildings, cafés, fun little bars, and boutiques. It’s perfect for people watching- its fun to see the locals and tourists wandering through along with some odd characters who could be straight out of a novel! I sat with a coffee in the sun and admired it all. It was fun to take it all in and feel the city’s soul! It’s not just a historical site. it's alive, now full of charm and beauty, evolving from a dark past. Super cool way to spend a day in Rouen France!
Lots of history. Joan of Arc in the church. A beautiful mens choir in the church practicing when we were there. Really cute shops all over town with some unique buys.
This is where Joan of Arc was executed and you feel the melancholy in the air. It’s a very simple affair with a monument and church dedicated to her and the square preserved from that time. The surrounding buildings have been preserved and walking here you can almost imagine how it might have been in that day hundreds of years before. Definitely visit when you’re in Rouen.
A charming historic square where past meets the buzz of modern life. This is the very spot where Joan of Arc was burned, so the atmosphere isn’t your average town square. Surrounded by colorful buildings, cafés, and markets, it offers a perfect blend of old and new. Great for grabbing a coffee or just soaking up that unmistakably French vibe that seems to seep from every corner.
Amazing to see Rouen and the cathedral . Lovely place to visit and stop off at cafe for good and drinks

Un vrai trésor insolite! What a wonderful Sunday surprise to find a museum with free (!!) entry, no crowds, and room upon room of abundant chefs d'oeuvre from artists ranging from local stars like Bouton and Zacharie to luminaries such as Renoir, Sisley, Velasquez and Caravaggio. Cherries on top were the absolutely lovely and helpful staff (including the delightful staff member with the gorgeous earring 💜 and the coupe casquette) and the excellent selection in the shop. Also, there's a grand piano you can play surrounded by great art — what a treat!!We'll be back!
The Monet was a bucket list item. Easy to find. Friendly staff and such a pleasant atmosphere. A variety of amazing artists. There are a few paintings that just blow the mind with their size and complexity. Not sure if wheelchair friendly. The toilets were clean and tidy. Lockers for bags and a curio shop. Well located and has few restaurants in the area. The video attached of the Seine and the artists paintings along the river.
Beautiful fine arts museum; free entrance, open daily from 10 AM. It has 2 floors; some exhibitions are paid. Amazing beautiful hall at the ground floor with 3 huge pictures made by Dufy, other big pictures and many statues. The museum houses works of famous painters and sculptors; some decorations are also on display. 1-2 hours. Highly reccomended!
A truly beautiful and inspiring museum — one of the best in Normandy 🎨. The collection covers everything from medieval to modern art, including masterpieces by Monet, Caravaggio, and Delacroix. The layout is open and easy to follow, allowing you to take your time and enjoy each room without feeling rushed. 🖼️ What Makes It Special The balance between classical and impressionist works is perfect. The lighting and spacious halls create a calm atmosphere that lets you appreciate every detail of the art. Many of the pieces are directly connected to Rouen’s history and its influence on the Impressionist movement. 🎧 Practical Tips ✅ Free entry — a huge plus for such a quality museum. ✅ Descriptions available in both French and English. ✅ Café and gift shop inside for a relaxing break. 🚗 Parking is nearby, and the museum is just a short walk from the city center. But its very hard to find a spot! So if u find any in the way just park and walk If you love art, history, or architecture, this place is a must-see. One of the best well organized museums I’ve visited. Almost in every room there is a sitting area, so the visitors can take a break from walking and standing, also allow ppl to take their time to enjoy the art. The map and marks are very clear to follow. The whole experience is easy, no rush and delightful, The collections of the impressionist arts are impressive. And it’s free entrance! Highly highly recommended.
The museum building is very handsome. A good section of this museum is free. The artwork and sculptures are amazing. Photo's allowed without flash. There were two staff to answer any questions.
A good surprised with great display. You can see the painting up close, see the brush stroke and smell the paint close. Great building and not crowded with traditional and impressionist arts. And it's free entry, it's a gem.
I knew this placed housed one of my favorite artworks (sons of Clovis) but since it was free I really wasn’t expecting much. I spent hours in there. It’s designed perfectly and has a vast collection, particularly the impressionist room. I wasn’t expecting to see half a dozen amazing Monets. Also the security dude at the entrance really was so friendly and helpful and just put me in a good mood to go and enjoy some of the world’s best art, for free.

A lovely art gallery to visit, right on the seafront in Le Havre. Some very attractive impressionist paintings to view, including a couple of Monet, Renoir and Pissarro among others. A friendly welcome, nice little shop and useful free lockers and loos too
Really nice gallery. Not to big you can have a nice walk trough it and enjoy the art
It's really good. So many times I visited Le Havre, but it was my first time in MuMA. Exceptional collection of Boudin, some interesting pieces of Matisse, and, of course, Raoul Dufy, my love. Great accueil.
Art museum was about an hour or so walk through. Most of the writings about the paintings were in French, so used a translator to read the ones I cared about. A lot of the art work had audible recordings if you choose to go that route. First time here and possibly my last, as we’re from the US. So took this opportunity to view some recognized artwork with my own two eyes. Very surreal if you stop and think about the history you’re staring at.
Small regional museum. The collection is big but only a small number of paintings are displayed in a single large room on the first floor. Also the lights through the large windows are difficult with the sun outside. Only 1hour for the full tour of the permanent collection.
Small but compact. It is one of the most interesting places I have visited. Photography amazing and matching paintings of scenes with actual photos. The history of photography is so interesting. Must see on your list.
If you like impressionist art, this is a perfect museum. It has some modern art as well. The cafe seems to be a great place for lunch. It was very busy when we were there.
Very interesting museum with friendly staff. Some lesser known impressionist works as well as some well known ones such as Renoir and Pissaro. Also some works that were curiously not at all modern. The restaurant is also very good value for an excellent three course lunch. We went on a Friday which seemed to serve a reduced price menu. Lovely sea views.

This park was one of the highlights of our visit to Étretat. Perched above the sea with panoramic views of the cliffs and the town below, it’s an absolutely breathtaking place to explore. The gardens are beautifully maintained, blending art and nature in a way that feels both serene and inspiring. Whether you’re a nature lover, an art enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful escape, this park is definitely worth visiting. Take your time here—it’s not just a quick stop, but a space to truly enjoy.
Worth the climb. The gardens were beautifully planned and reacted the local environment. The garden was the perfect companion to the art. A cup of tea and a treat in the cafe was the perfect full stop to a lovely moment in Etretat.
Nice and quite small park on the hill. There are some sculptures etc. but 20-30 mins more than enough. For 14 euros... big question mark. Maybe I don't understand the cultural impact - I wasn't impressed, sorry...
I think this botanical garden is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen. There are so many different installations in a relatively small area. I didn’t spend a lot of time there, but it was definitely worth it – it’s quite big, and that’s part of its charm.
This place is absolutely beautiful, so good that even the weather didn’t ruin our experience! 10/10 and so happy we visited! Would be great if one day they got given the rest of the hill to make perfect like this place, it would definitely make Etretat UNESCO World Heritage worthy (as if the wonderful sea arches wouldn’t be enough already)!
Worth a visit if you’re in Étretat. Nice place to take a stroll during the afternoon and escape from the heat. Lots of cool exhibits on display. There’s also a cafe inside the garden if you want to take a caffeine break.
Very beautiful place. Keep in mind that it's pretty big area and you need to have enough time if you'd like to see all of that
tourist scam for 12 euros. garden is very small, there are like 5 heads sculptures. you can see the sea from only one point, which is a dedicated photo area but since the garden is on the cliff there’s a better view right next to it and it’s FRE OF CHARGE. these 5 heads are not worth it and you can’t even take a normal picture because of the crowd of tourists. i don’t even know what else to say..

I would 100% recommend visiting and touring the interior. Tickets are available to purchase at the entry of the tour and aren't all that expensive, and with that you get a great (but not too long) audio tour of the different rooms and the history of the clock, which was incredibly neat. You also get an incredible view of the city from the top lookout. If you're visiting Rouen, this is a must-see!
This is a magnificent clock right by Notre Dame of Rouen. The clock is cool but don't miss the rest of the houses that depict how tax collection policies form the basis of these small base houses with large upper structures. All of these incentives allowed for funky developments in this town. A very interesting place to experience this part of Normandy.
Enjoyed our visit. Thankfully very quiet so no congestion on the narrow stairs. Worth a visit. Audio guide was okay but not hugely engaging.
It's exercise with a capital E. It's worth every penny. I know what you're thinking, 7.70 to see a bell? It's sooo much more than that.
Walking around these streets feels like you’ve been transported back in time to medieval Europe, with cobbled streets and half timbered houses. The clock in its golden design adds to the magical atmosphere. It’s almost like you’re inside a Disney story book. Definitely a must visit when in Rouen and if you can then definitely do a walking tour around the area - you will have beautiful pictures to look back at.
Walking through Rouen’s Old Town felt like flipping through an illustrated book of medieval France — half-timbered houses, gothic churches, and a golden astronomical clock that glows in the afternoon light. Every corner turns into a postcard. Locals sit by stone cafés, and you hear the sound of footsteps echoing on the cobblestone. I didn’t plan much, but ended up walking for hours. 💡 Tip: Come around golden hour — the light makes the facades even more magical. Great for wandering photographers or solo daydreamers.
⭐ 5/5 – Le Gros Horloge (The Great Clock of Rouen) Most people walk by, snap a photo, and keep moving — but if you stop and truly look, you’ll discover one of the most extraordinary pieces of craftsmanship in France 🕰️✨. Every inch of Le Gros Horloge is filled with incredible detail: golden rays representing the sun, delicate engravings that trace time’s passage, and an elegant hand that glides across a deep blue sky dotted with stars. What makes it truly unique is its astronomical design — it not only tells the time, but also shows the phases of the moon, days of the week, and the cycle of the sun 🌕☀️. It’s like a living calendar carved into history, reminding us of a time when timekeeping was both science and art. Standing beneath it, you can almost feel the centuries pass — the hum of medieval life, the merchants below, the monks who once tuned its mechanism. It’s not just a monument; it’s a conversation with time itself. 🧭 Tips for Visitors ✅ Take your time — admire the fine details before and after taking your photo. ✅ Visit the clock tower museum to see the mechanism up close and enjoy amazing views over Rouen. ✅ The surrounding street, Rue du Gros-Horloge, is one of the city’s most picturesque walks. Pause, look up, and let yourself be amazed — this isn’t just a clock, it’s a masterpiece that still beats with Rouen’s heart. ⸻ For more tips follow me on Google. We had a lovely walk here . We came when there was a heatwave and in the gardens you could really enjoy the fresh air. You have different types of gardens all very beautiful . There is a cafe and a labyrinth as well . You can really do a gorgeous walk and have some stunning views from Le Havre . There are 2 entries with both having parking which makes it very easy . Parking is free . Definitely worth the visit.
We came on a cold but sunny day in January. It was very quiet but peaceful to sit on the chairs and ponder…. The greenhouses were closed, which was a shame, as we were only in Le Havre for the day. The gardens were well kept and could imagine it was be beautiful in the spring/summer!
Gorgeous gardens with lawns, greenhouses, paths, and an incredible view of Le Havre. When I visited there was a wonderful photo show as well. And the cafe is very nice too. I spent more than three hours at the gardens and would gladly have stayed longer.
Beautiful large gardens with something for everyone. There is a cafe open for visitors, and labyrinth for kids and many places to take photos of ancient structures and flora
A heaven of peace and serenity. I love to stroll around here and enjoy this tranquil parc. It’s in a little hollow and this conveniently protected on windy days. It also features a lovely bistro. I did not visit the greenhouses that cost a small fee, yet.
Perfect for a nice evening stroll, the calm and relaxing scenery will ease your soul. This place is especially nice as few people take the time to get there, probably because it's up a hill. Anyway you should definitely try it !
Nice place to walk in Le Havre. The rosary, the garden, the labyrinth vegetal, the view from the hill
Beautiful gardens, lots of spots to just take a sit and enjoy the view.

Fantastic re-enactment tour of Jeanne's d'arcs story and trial. Very engaging well paced and interesting. They have styled the tour in side the old archbishops palace where projectors are used on the cleaned walls for aesthetic and intriguing storytelling. We needed English audio guides, which were free. Tour takes about an hour and you need to wait for the tour time to start because its video based. There is also other rooms after to look through after as well. Great view of Rouen here as well!
Well worth the time if you’re visiting. Excellent presentations of ancient events. The translation devices worked well. Two tips make sure volume is up and don’t put the receiver in your pocket. It seems to have a small aerial which you can see but the unit struggles if this is obscured. Much more knowledgeable after the tour.
A really impressive modern exhibition about Joan of Arc’s life, full of projections, 3D visualizations, and a strong immersive vibe. The beginning feels like a historical movie you actually get to step inside. Later parts are more traditional, with documents and classic displays. Still, the whole experience holds together well — even those who skipped history class will walk away understanding why Joan remains such a legendary figure.
Very interesting museum leading you through a retrial of Joan. Very immersive exhibits where you are lead through multiple rooms each with projections. Also set in the bishop's palace so included access to some rooms at the end with great views of the city.
I would have given 5 stars for this attraction about the life and death of Joan of Arc but as it’s a video exhibition in French you need to wear a headset. Whilst this doesn’t bother me you really have to have it loud to drown out the French audio on the video. Some great rooms and views of Rouen though, don’t be afraid to try doors to get into the chapel (see picture).
Rather than a museum, it is a linear, immersive tour presented in multiple stages by means of a light/projection show while traversing up and around through the palace’s rooms and towers. The entire experience has high production value and very comprehensively explains the history of Jeanne D’Arc from beginning to end. I did not know about the place in advance so I was pleasantly surprised at the presentation. Highly recommended for those who want to learn in a more dynamic fashion.
An interesting museum about Joan of Arc. Excellent location for restaurants and seeing the Rouen Cathedral. You are given an audio headset to translate and videos start in each room at certain times. I appreciated it, but would have preferred self-pacing. It was cold inside and I kept my winter coat on for most of the experience. Not many souvenirs, although I think that makes sense for a more somber site. Once was enough, but I recommend you go if you're interested in Joan of Arc, as a person, saint, and legend.
We luckily arrived right before a session was starting so didn’t have to wait before beginning. The concept is a multimedia presentation that takes place over several rooms that a large tour group moves through. Every session is the same, presented over loud speakers with projected visuals that were quite cool. If you want a translated audio, it is included in the price of your ticket. The headphones don’t actually sit in your ears and sometimes it was quite hard to tune out the French (especially if you mostly understand that too) to hear the translation. It was a bit of a sensory overload. In at least one quarter of the rooms there is not enough seating for the whole group, so if you have accessibility needs be sure to speak up to get a seat. It is largely wheelchair accessible although the main group takes lots of winding stairs. The story is told through actor portrayals of Joan’s contemporaries and is quite engaging. We did learn a lot, but still had some unanswered questions at the end (why was she called Joan of Arc?). Overall I think this is worth a visit if you want a different museum experience, you have kids, or you know very little about Joan of Arc. I would have been happier to pay slightly less for the experience.
