The amenities are wonderful for children if you don’t mind the noise that comes with it. 😂 One set of beach chairs came with our unit which was wonderful and they had a couple of portable chairs in the unit for use as well. Wagon also available although we used our own. There are a TON of beach umbrellas. Typical high rise congestion on the beach that’s unavoidable. People did not observe the speaker rules, or the drink rules and no one seemed to be watching to enforce. 😆 Overall it was a great vacation with the family! The new arm band system was a great addition, providing peace of mind with added security, and we noticed staff and security presence throughout our stay. We also loved the complimentary umbrella and chairs from the LDV beach team. With 9 in our group, we purchased an extra set, but weren’t impressed with the “double charge” policy to reserve them daily—it felt more like a company money grab than benefiting the hardworking umbrella crew, who were fantastic. Our only real complaint was the carpet on the main floor. The smell was unpleasant, though staff were quick to clean and clearly trying to keep up with the challenge. This time, the dishwasher was not properly installed so it tipped outward when the top rack was pulled out. It worked but it was inconvenient to keep it from tipping out of the enclosure. The beach chairs and umbrellas were acceptable though we had to walk to the very ends of the row to get one - not because the others were full but because the middle section was full of reserved chairs that were hardly ever occupied. My daughter came recently and she and her husband were told by the beach attendant that they were not on the list and could not use their own beach chairs and that they could “purchase” usage directly with him. They checked with the front desk and were told that was not the policy and that they would look into the issue. They were on the list the rest of the week but who knows how many people paid for chairs and umbrellas that they already paid for. The biggest complaint which has come up every time we have been here (at least 3 times) is that there is always someone near us smoking which causes us to have to go in and not enjoy the balcony. We have called the office every time and are always told it would be addressed but it is not. This time has been the worst with someone smoking cigars. It feels like the front desk is obligated to tell us that they are going to address the problem but they don’t seem to since the smoking continues. I can’t say that any of the other resorts are any better at enforcing smoking policies but we will definitely be trying out other places since The Breakers does not seem to be doing anything proactive.

However , we did have challenges with washer and dryer - washer had to be monitored as it would sometimes flood and dryer was inconsistent. Water pressure struggled (we were told this was related to a water main break). Our room had a pretty bad odor when we first arrived that took about 3 days to get rid of using Febreze. The condo's are non smoking but it seemed like a lot of people used their patio's. If that bothers you, be prepared. Beach was pretty crowded as expected for this time of year - get in with the chair service when you arrive. You may struggle finding a good spot if just plan on using your own chairs. Pools were nice and never seemed to have an issue finding a chair. The area in general has some construction so when you add traffic it could take a while to go a short distance if driving. Really just depends when you go. Plenty of places to eat in walking distance or short drive (note construction and traffic comment). The view and access to the beach was awesome. Our balcony was directly above the pool which initially concerned me with noise but the unit was very well soundproofed and noise was never an issue. The unit was very clean. The listing stated linens and towels are provided and they were, however there were no dish cloths and only 2 or 3 washcloths for the whole unit. Not a big deal, we bought an 18 pack at Walmart to use for the week just a heads up you may pack a few washcloths. The only cons I can think of is it is so crowded (the city not the condo) traffic was a nightmare at times which is to be expected if you are visiting that area the condo was just off of a very busy stop light which made getting in and out of the condo difficult at times. The large volume of people also lead to pretty crowded beaches although we noticed after Tuesday the beach cleared off significantly even though the water was very rough Sunday and Monday. Next time we go we will plan activities the first few days and plan our beach days for later in the week when everyone else is staying indoors to nurse their sunburns!

That tells me that the shower obviously was not cleaned prior to our arrival. GD603 is in need of a serious upgrade! The washing machine in GD603 failed to spin and again maintenance was called. However, there was nothing they could do to fix the situation, except call the condo’s owner and report the problem. Therefore, the the load of laundry had to be wrung out by hand, and taken next door to GD604 to complete! GD604 was quite nice with it’s stainless steel kitchen appliances, and Big Screen TV! Overall Top Notch accommodations. My only complaint, as I do enjoy preparing meals, snacks, etc. in the kitchen for the family, would be the lack of pots and pans, blender, and food storage containers. We love Gulf Dunes by Brooks and Shorey, and we will be back in October 2022! *** Update October 2022 *** Fall Sunsets are phenomenal!
