Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park

Mentioned on

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Established in 1955, Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park is the second oldest marine park in America. It showcases a variety of marine life including Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, California sea lions, Peruvian penguins, and Ridley turtles across 14 captivating exhibits. The park also features the U.S. Air Force Armament Museum with an impressive display of 25 reconnaissance, fighter and bomber planes. Visitors can explore artifacts from prehistoric Indian cultures at the Indian Temple Mound Museum located nearby.
The animals were a delight! You could tell they were happy and playful. All where either contently resting, roaming gracefully, or energetically bouncing with excitement for their trainers to come in. We learned lots of fun facts. You could view the ocean while wandering through. Prices were great! Every staff member was friendly, helpful and willing to chat or point you in the right direction! Amazing improvements from when I was here 20 years ago and I loved it then too! Impressive!
Jennifer K — Google review
Wonderful experience and wonderful staff! You can feel how passionate everyone working there is for the animals and for those wanting to observe them. The animals seem very happy, and I love their rehabilitation exhibit with the sea turtles. Downside is obviously food cost; however, those teriyaki chicken sliders were so yummy. Definitely recommend!

We went for a few hours in the afternoon. Most of it is covered to block the hot sun. There's several exhibits. A few not native to the United States. It's an older aquarium it opened in 1955 so it's celebrating it's 70th anniversary. The seal and dolphin shows were super entertaining. They even house the injured. Nice place to take the children to. The Pier is right next to the aquarium.
Lynda S — Google review
We loved our visit here! It was very educational and the perfect size for the kids to not become overwhelmed or tired. We really enjoyed the sea lion show & the dolphin show. We sat in the "splash zone" for the dolphin show and that was the highlight of the day for our kids! They thought it was so fun getting splashed by the dolphins & also thought it was really special to be so close to them. I personally enjoyed the CARE center and seeing the work being done to help rehab the injured sea turtles.
Kara S — Google review
Awesome spot for the kids with a touch tank and various shows (sea lions / dolphins) and presentations on sharks, penguins, and more. Most is outside so wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Its right on the water so there's beautiful views and a restaurant next door.
Dana F — Google review
Excellent experience for kids! We really enjoyed all that they had to offer and we didn't get to see all of the shows. We did see the dolphin show which was awesome and you can tell the trainers really care about the animals that they train. We do recommend getting to the show earlier so you can get the seats that you want. We also watched the Sea Lion shows and it was awesome as well. Lots of information and very educational for the kids.
Brandon S — Google review
$75 for two to walk around the animals was a bit much as they really do not have the attractions to warrant that price point. So what if you can come back with your receipt. If there is nothing the first time around then the second or third would not have me excited. I truly am an animal person too, so many of the exhibits need some help as animals could use a little more attention for sure.
Markus S — Google review
Absolutely loved the Gulfarium! There were many animals to see including manatees, dolphins, sea lions, otters, penguins, sharks, reptiles and more! With your tickets, you are able to attend shows and animal talks. This facility talked a lot about conservation and helping the animals! The manatees were definitely my favorite part, especially knowing I have seen Lil Joe and Inigo at Disney's Epcot before!!

Science museum
Children's museum
The Emerald Coast Science Center, located in Fort Walton Beach, offers a unique and interactive experience for visitors of all ages. With exhibits focusing on the human body, animals, colors, vehicles, and more, the center encourages hands-on exploration. From interactive robotics to airflow engineering demonstrations and a color and light display with rainbow glasses and kaleidoscopes, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Wonderful exhibit. You can see everything within 1-2 hours, which was perfect for us to kill some time. Staff are very nice!! Love the animals they have. The director was there and let us hold some of the snakes. Very enthusiastic about everything. Please give this place your business and learn a bit in the process!
Alexander M — Google review
Wow! What a great place! My 7 and yr old especially enjoyed it. My 14/13 yr old had fun too but it's definitely more geared towards a younger crowd. Either way everyone enjoyed the exhibits. There were a few down and closed off areas which was too bad but we still very much enjoyed our visit.
M — Google review
A cute and fun place to visit to gain a little knowledge while staying (mostly) in-doors on a hot week. A great cool down spot for our kids, they would have stayed there forever if you let them (who knew matching games were so fun). There was also a creature feature going when we arrived, and in the words of my daughter “sugar gliders are SO CUTE” (I don’t disagree). I highly recommend if you are looking for something to do that your kids will enjoy!
Emily L — Google review
Took my granddaughter and her friend, they are 9 & 10. They enjoyed it and we spent 2 hours there. There is a reptile room, birds and fish as well as chinchillas, guinea pigs, and sugar gliders. There are large birds, and a tortoise 🐢 outside. The learning and interactive centers are cool. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is a small section of merchandise for souvenirs, and a decent size outdoor area! It was a Saturday afternoon, & they were hosting a birthday party, so it was a tad busy. There was plenty of free parking, in front of the building. $12 each, admission fee.
Lori — Google review
It's a great place to take young children (4-10). Older kids won't be too thrilled. When I took my kids today, most of the exhibits were out of order which ruined the experience. They did have a cool planetarium exhibit today which was extra. It went over our solar system.
Adam B — Google review
Nice place to explore a lot of things also nice indoors when rain is outside. Just did not like that some robot arms where a bit broken and the hurricane simulator did cost extra fee. But all in all a nice trip with kids.
Fabi K — Google review
I have added a star after the great response from the science center reminding me how many places have to operate with limited means. The center has potential, and I hope to see how it flourishes when I revisit the area. Pretty high price for a small place with broken exhibits. The presentation area was tiny and crowded. I suggest adding information on why the museum has the caged animals on their information card. Appreciated the story about the bear. Grandson enjoyed the water safety area.
Cat M — Google review
This was a great stop on our trip! My husband almost had more fun than my toddler.

Wild Willy's Adventure Zone

Water & Amusement Parks
Wild Willy's Adventure Zone is a sprawling family fun center located on Okaloosa Island, just a short distance from Fort Walton Beach. The complex offers an extensive range of indoor and outdoor activities suitable for visitors of all ages. Inside, guests can enjoy an expansive redemption arcade, laser maze, remote-controlled battle boats, rope obstacle course, reverse bungee trampoline, 4D movie theater, and spinning roller coaster.
This adventure park was such a fun experience! There were tons of arcade games inside, and the mini golf tickets were super affordable—we played for hours with friends. The course was creative and well-designed, with fun pirate facts scattered throughout 🏴‍☠️. Highly recommend visiting with family or friends!
Brandi H — Google review
We bought the package for go karts and the 18 hole mini golf for 49.95/person. It wasn’t worth it, the go karts were very slow and with this you do not get what you pay for. We were initially really excited about the go karts, afterwards it was a let down. You only get a few laps for the price you pay. If you’re looking for speed or a thrill, look for somewhere else, it’s just not worth it. There is a large track with faster go karts called the track in town. Mini golf was probably our favorite thing about the money, only because there was a group of us and we’re competitive. Otherwise it’s an above average course and it was fun. I would maybe do this by itself for a price, but not coupled with a package
Keith W — Google review
There were so many things to do here and it's very unique. My husband and I tried the ropes coarse which is amazing if you're a thrill seeker, and we did a round of mini golf. We did the Dino theme (they have multiple themes) mini golf which was so fun with interactive features , fun facts, and unique holes. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try everything and it is a bit expensive so definitely expect to spend a lot of money. Golf and ropes was $60 together before tax but I think they have deals too so check those out. But we had fun and it seems pretty clean. Highly recommend.
Katie C — Google review
Fun mini golf and arcade! Prices were fine but try to go on an overcast day or evening so it isn't so darn hot! Not much shade on the mini golf course but they had some fans which helped. Very fun for the kids
Melanie H — Google review
Fun mini golf and arcade place, has fun rides and race cars, sadly one of the courses was closed and no reason given and honestly the only reason for lower score was the outdoor card readers for the gun game are broken and not maintained and they don’t say broken, the staff could care less if you were there, understanding they are teens earning extra, they cared way more about their gossip conversation than serving any customers or even putting the golf clubs away, general cleaning or even retrieving the balls off the 18th hole. I don’t know if the shift lead was busy, was one of the teens or just not super good at directing their staff, but it was pretty bad. Thank you to the owner for responding. Good to know about the card readers, appreciate the response. Wish I could give half stars and improve. Love coming here for mini golf.
Chris C — Google review
On a rainy weekend at the beach these places are a godsend. My daughter was down at the beach for her birthday but half the weekend was rained out. She really wanted to go kart but wasn't big enough to drive so we did the arcade and Lazer tag. The game selection was pretty great and almost all of the machines were operational which can be rare at arcades. My daughter loved the Minecraft Dungeons game. The 9 year old also got to play a very small game of Lazer tag but she had fun. At the time we were there nobody else was playing so she made friends and got a 4 person free for all. Obviously ropes courses and mini golf or go karts aren't the best in the rain but the rest was a welcome attraction for kids who can't go swimming. The employees were even pretty good, not the usual dead inside teens working at these types of places.
Coty H — Google review
This is THE best and nicest place to play mini golf in the Destin/Ft. Walton area. They have two 18 hole courses to choose from that are challenging and fun and great for the whole family. We go year and after year and are never disappointed.
Paige — Google review
Great putt-putt with two options for themes. To the right is Dinosaur themed holes and to the left are the Pirate themed holes. There is also an arcade and bungee jumping. Unfortunately there is no alcohol served here at all.

John Beasley Park is a picturesque beachside destination featuring pavilions, a snack bar, changing rooms, and showers. The park offers a serene and less-crowded environment with ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing, bird watching, and boating. Visitors can also enjoy picnicking at the available tables or take leisurely strolls along the expansive beach and tall dunes.
Beautiful beach, no parking fees. Cool places for photo ops, if you have a teenager that loves to pose for photos 🤣. There's a stand to buy drinks/snacks/ beach gear when you walk in also
Chassey B — Google review
It's free there's and there is plenty of concessions and a nice little keyed entry bathroom and shower area right at the entry to the beach access but the sand is a little more "traveled" that further down beach and it seems the water is a whole lot more shallow to the sandbars. Which has its ups and downs, I guess. The water today was amazing and I fully enjoyed my swim and will definitely return tonight for the sunset for another round.
Michael R — Google review
Beautiful beach! Went on a Monday so it wasn’t crowded. Very relaxing. Nice little gift shop and concession stand. Great spot to bring your lunch as they have covered park benches with restrooms.
J V — Google review
Very nice and clean park with restrooms, changing areas, and showers to rinse off. Beautiful view, and we found tons of shells and sand dollars. Also, they have a "borrow me" bin with boogie boards and sand toys, which is a perfect touch for those visiting.
Austin R — Google review
Beautiful beach, walkway to the beach is beautiful in itself. They have a little store at the entrance for cold drinks, ice-cream, snow cones and beachwear. Lots of parking and it's much less crowded then some of the other ar e areas.
Sandy R — Google review
Beautiful beaches + dunes! Great location to visit the beach. Clean bathrooms, friendly shop staff, and clear info on the ocean status/rip current. Awesome spot to also see the military planes flying over.
Lou L — Google review
4th of July was amazing. Beach is clean and not packed. Showers and restrooms were clean as well. Easy parking and a great experience. Patrol was doing thier job, made me want to bring my kids next time.
A R — Google review
The water was clear and warm and gentle and the beach was not crowded and not hard to get to, plenty of parking and facilities for bathroom and rinsing off sand and a snack stand. Beautiful place to spend the day.

The Indian Temple Mound Museum in Fort Walton Beach is a treasure trove of Southeastern tribal history and culture. It houses traditional artifacts, lifestyle exhibits, and ceramic pieces that showcase the rich heritage of the region. The museum is located at the site of a sacred burial ground with a large mound built by the Pensacola Indian tribe around 800 CE.
Lots of artifacts and historical information here. Mound is somewhat intact. So much has been lost due to the sidewalks, roads and buildings that completely surround this place. Luckily this was preserved. Staff was very knowledgeable about the history of this area. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.
Colton L — Google review
I’ve been to a lot of Indian mounds across the Southeastern United States & this is one of my favorites! Great for kids & adults! The museum had several interactive exhibits as well as a wide assortment of Indian relics & artifacts. The staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. Also the gift shop has everything from post cards to research books. Highly recommend!!!

A fantastic little museum full of Native American history, and currently a pirate exhibit that's perfect for younger kids! Lovely staff, very kind and helpful! We visited with our luggage to kill time, and they let us leave our bags behind the counter which was so helpful!
Katie S — Google review
Great stop with a variety of local history of indigenous people and artifacts as well as early settlers. The friendly guide in the schoolhouse was really interesting and informative.
T H — Google review
Very informative place. Great to bring kids. Have an exhibition, plus 3 buildings you can tour. Please like and rate review if this helps you out. Thanks
Donald S — Google review
Came here on a Thursday morning and it got busy pretty quickly! The staff was great, they have a nice gift shop. We didn't go through the museum because we had to get back to our hotel but we did buy some cool stuff to support them, including a beautiful ring. The Mound was magical and felt like we stepped back in time just from simply looking at it. I love everything Native American and will always support anything I can.
Toula F — Google review
There is a lot of history here!! Plus there's more than just the Indian mound there's an old-school 1800s post office and a Confederate Fort. So totally worth the journey It's a nice 30 to 45 minute learning experience about culture in America in Florida!
Ac D — Google review
I thought I was 1/8 Native American until 2 different DNA tests told me otherwise. One useless fact later.... this place is an unexpected delight in the middle of a concrete jungle. The artifacts have a distinct Incan vibe. The modern Freemason temple across the street from this historic temple indicates that there's more value to this location that is likely not fully understood by the average visitor. Hidden gem if you ask me. Be sure to support the site and locals through the gift shop.

The Boardwalk, Okaloosa Island, is a vibrant waterfront complex offering a mix of shopping and dining options with easy access to the public beach. Visitors can enjoy pirate shows, summer fireworks, and stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. The area also features popular restaurants like Floyds Shrimp House and Rockin Tacos for post-wedding celebrations. Additionally, nearby parks such as Ross Marler Park and John Beasley Park provide opportunities for leisurely strolls and scenic vistas.
it's a cool area to hang out on the beach and have the peer for watching sunsets and sunrises. there is also live entertainment behind you at Al's and there is a shopping mall with a few stores and you can get kites from Kitty Hawk kites. there's also a taco place to eat that is fair. owls has live entertainment all the time they do fireworks a couple times a week they have kids events inside and on the beach is all open Bay in the back. the beach area is a bit crowded at times but there is always plenty of room to park your things and still enjoy it all. Al's has a fire throwing event on Wednesday nights. we were there for the 4th of July and it was not as crazy as I anticipated on it being. they did not have fireworks there that was my only disappointment. but they did host fireworks at the Harbor Boardwalk and across the bay which we could see from there on the beach. we saw dolphins around the end of the pier.
Jesusfreek J — Google review
Been coming here my whole life. Some great restaurants and great vibes. Love the rental chairs right in front. We come eat and carry minimal stuff like towels and can setup for the day even with three kids. Everything you need is right there. Bathrooms, roof, drinks, chairs and umbrellas, volleyball courts, and a fishing pier. I'm sure I'm missing more but it's where it's at.
John T — Google review
My girlfriend and I loved this place! It was $2 a person ~ $4 plus tax for us and it was the best value experience on our trip. We saw dolphins (many many sightings) tiger sharks, jelly fish, and sea turtles. Definitely recommend going during sunset so it’s not too hot, the breeze was an absolute dream.
Alex L — Google review
What an awesome experience… from the stores, Fall decorations, restaurants and beautiful beach views during the day to live music, lights galore, restaurants/bars, and fire dancers this was a definite go-to for visitors and locals. We had a great time and will be back. My now fiancé proposed to me on the gorgeous white sand and we had a wonderful time celebrating. Everything was super clean and it was just a really awesome experience!

Great place to hang for a bit! I've hung out here twice when waiting to catch a flight and was great! Plenty of places to sit in the shade. Very close to the pier. Clean and accessible bathrooms. Lots of good food options! Even a place to store luggage!
Dedo M — Google review
Went with some friends on the pier. Absolutely beautiful. I cannot wait to go back and go fishing! And they will rent you some poles if you don't have any so you can fish! Is that not the coolest thing ever!?!
Dawneees — Google review
Very nice area to spend several hours eating, shopping, and a walk out onto the pier. So many people were fishing off the pier while we were there, looked fun for those that like to fish. Sunset was amazing!

It was our first time out on the Boardwalk. It was amazing to see wildlife swimming. There were schools of jellyfish everywhere that day. We had some dolphins visit and even saw a stingray.

The Indian Temple Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday 10:00-3:00. The school house is open 10:30-2:30 Tuesday-Saturday. This is good info to have because Google says they open at 1. We went at 2:20 thinking we had plenty of time, and we were not able to go in the school house.

Informative, inexpensive local history. The volunteers had a lot of information to share about the schoolhouse and time period. The info posted throughout the Heritagrle Center was plentiful and the staff was very nice and helpful. Great stop if you enjoy learning some history.
Char C — Google review
A nice museum with knowledgeable staff. My family enjoyed the schoolhouse and post office best. The Indian museum has nice hands-on exhibits. It is a good experience for families at a good price! A tip- you begin the museum tour with the Indian Mound exhibits in the main building, however, we rushed into the schoolhouse first to get out of the rain and were allowed to pay at the end.
Shawn M — Google review
Went while on vacation. Had to wait to get in due to a class field trip present at the time. The mound is a replica and not as big as it should be. But that’s the only reason it loses a star. The museum itself is well laid out and informative. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. In particular, the woman working in the schoolhouse was fantastic. I hadn’t even planned on visiting the school and she made it the best part. Definitely a spot to kill an hour while learning something.

Liza Jackson Park in Fort Walton Beach is a picturesque destination offering 1,000 feet of waterfront space. The park features play structures, pavilions, picnic tables, a fishing pier, and a boat launch. It's an ideal spot for relaxation and spending quality time with loved ones. The park opens daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, providing opportunities for morning strolls along the water or mid-day picnics.
This is a nice little park, dog friendly, and a great location. There are several different fenced in dog enclosure areas for different sizes of dogs, and then there is also a nice little area of beach where the dogs can run and play in the water. There is even a nice little area with some fresh water hoses for getting drinking water for the dogs, or giving them a fresh water rinse down after they've played in the ocean. This park also has a pier, a boat launch and a kayak launching area. I haven't personally launched any watercraft from this park, but it's definitely a park that has all of these options available to the public.

Small park near a pier and boat dock. The water was beautiful. I tried to blades here but the paths were short.

Not seeing any outlets or water taps anywhere. Unexpected and disappointing for parks along this route. There was a guy digging thru all the trash cans. Didn't think I was back in Cocoa Beach yet. 😑

As a tourist in the area I was looking for a nice dog park for my Cane Corso to go and enjoy some play time with me and cool off. This park was perfect. It offers a fenced off leash area for owners who are looking for that. What I loved was the open areas, all the shady trees, watching the ducks. Picnic tables were kinda gross…. Tooo much duck poo. Loki (my Cane Corso) and myself had a nice picnic on the grass, cooled our paws and toes off in the little lake, and enjoyed the shade. I did not go into the off leash fenced area but it looked nice with toys and some shade.
Lori ( — Google review
We were down for a vacation with the boat and had an issue with the motor. While "in repair" my buddy and I went by the park in the early morning to do a little fishing at the pier. Nice facilities and well kept park. The bathrooms were clean and the information boards were informative. The park has a good little boat ramp for kayakers and small boats. We caught a couple of blowfish and saw some schooling mullets, my buddy fished a nice pair of CliC Glasses out of the water (still in usable condition). Great for anyone including families with kids. Highly recommend!!
Melissa F — Google review
The backdrop of this park is just magnificent. You can see straight across the water to Okaloosa Island. It’s so peaceful. Most of the dock and fishing piers were destroyed in Hurricane Sally which at this point was about 9 months ago and still hasn’t been replaced. The playground equipment has recently been updated and is pretty good, however there are already some broken swings and badly rusted chains and equipment. Homelessness has always been a huge issue at this park and the park about two miles away at the landing. Every pavilion is usually occupied by the homeless and their belongings. Overall we stop by here often. There is a short walking path with a cute little bridge which makes it a lovely spot to go and adore a sunset while having a relaxing walk before winding down for the evening. This park has potential. If it was any other town I’d give it three or two stars but honestly fort Walton beach I hold to a lower standard even though it has a special place in my heart.

Hidden gem! Course was challenging, fun, and well kept. Don't judge a book by its cover. This course was great and reasonably priced. $6 for adults. They only accept cash or Venmo but they have an ATM. Even though it was crowded, we didn't feel rushed. Tiger's Blood slushie was tasty. Highly recommend for good family fun!

Very cool spot for my first ever mini golf adventure, it seems to be a local hot spot and it had such a retro charm to it! I really enjoyed all the cool statues and animal themed courses. The staff was friendly and funny, the prices were good and the slushies were yummy too! I’ll have to come back if I’m ever in the area!

Kids loved it, simple. Just wish they would fix all the motorized parts of the course. Takes away from the fun.. its not difficult to do it. If you need help let me know, I have a crew or volunteers that would be willing to fix them if you provide parts.

Nice, old school mini golf. Staff were friendly and me and my family had a blast. Great price for a night of fun! Nothing fancy, but sometimes that’s what’s best!

I visited Goofy Golf the other day for the first time in years, and I was blown away by how great everything looked. The upgrades and renovations throughout the course are fantastic — it’s clear that a lot of care went into making the space fun, clean, and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I especially want to shout out Dan, who was the first person we interacted with. His positive attitude and welcoming demeanor set the tone for what turned out to be an amazing experience. It’s refreshing to have a place like this in my hometown where you genuinely feel like your presence is appreciated. This visit was a night-and-day difference from how we were treated at Okaloosa National Mini Golf & Ice Cream. At Goofy Golf, the staff actually make you feel like they want you to be there. Highly recommend it for families, locals, and visitors alike. Goofy Golf has definitely earned a return visit from me!

We had an absolute blast! Way better than most of the other plain mini golf options in the area. Each hole has something wild going on and we had fun trying to get the ball where it needed to go. Extremely affordable! I also, love that they have umbrellas throughout the course. It gets very hot in Florida but that shade makes a huge difference! We are definitely planning to go back!

Seafood restaurant
Old Bay Steamer is a laid-back eatery in Fort Walton Beach known for its freshly caught seafood and signature steamers. The menu features an array of seafood options like blackened fish, crab legs, and shrimp alfredo, as well as steakhouse favorites. However, the must-try items are their namesake steam pots simmered in traditional Old Bay seasoning.
The food and service were fantastic! We had a great time eating here. It's your classic "I want great seafood" restaurant. The menu is large, and the prices are very affordable. I loved the salad (provided with all meals) and the enormous and healthy side options. If I lived in Fort Walton, I would be a regular, for sure.
Taylor H — Google review
Old Bay Steamer is def a fine dining experience. I was unexpectedly surprised by the lack of variety to the menu. They def handled the FRESH SEAFOOD items well and cooked them properly which is MOST important, but I did expect a bit more out of the sides given the atmosphere and menu prices. I would def still recommend to someone wanting a good seafood fine dining experience, but if you have a sophisticated pallet it may now be for you per se. Staff was wonderful. Atmosphere made you want to stay longer.

Old Bay Steamer was a fantastic dinner spot! The seafood was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and served steaming hot. The shrimp and crab legs were packed with flavor, and the buttery corn and potatoes tied it all together. Great service, chill vibes, and unbeatable views — we’ll definitely be back!

Every year I take my wife to Old Bay Steamer for our anniversary. Its definitely one of our favorite seafood restaurants. If you like steamed crabs, this is where you'll want to eat at! We got the lobster super steamer for 2 and it was EXCELLENT! I cant recommend this place enough! Splurge a little and take your significant other out for a nice seafood dinner...they won't be disappointed 😋

The homemade house salad dressing and cocktail sauce was AMAZING!! We ordered the baked oysters and both got the steamed shrimp plates. The oysters were overcooked, likewise, the shrimp was tetering on the same well done outcome. We still ate them, but we're just disappointed. The service and atmosphere were outstanding, so we would be possibly willing to try again on another trip!
April L — Google review
The food was unbeivable, service was great, atmosphere was relaxed. We all 6 ordered something different and tried each others dishes so I can say everything we had was awesome. Prices aren't bad for great seafood in FL. Loved the lady behind the bar.
J C — Google review
Very cool atmosphere, nice jazz music playing. Good selection of food items, waiter provided great service. Steak was very tender and delicious. Seared tuna was great, the meals come with a gouse salad with a vinaigrette dressing that was delicious. They have a kids menu that had good options. It's definitely pricey, but worth it.
Cortney H — Google review
Great place for seafood. The salad is huge and very tasty. Fresh catch was Red Snapper, had it topped with crabmeat. One of the best dishes I've had. crab legs very good too. Highly recommend the bread with butter/mushrooms. Bartender could've been a little more attentive. To go container has holes on one side and liquid spilled all over us. Apparently this happens often..should've been told that when they brought them out to us

Mexican restaurant
Rockin' Tacos is a vibrant seaside bar and grill located on Okaloosa Island, offering a lively and friendly atmosphere perfect for a relaxing lunch with family or friends. The restaurant features outdoor seating with a back porch facing the Gulf of Mexico, providing an ideal setting to enjoy Mexican classics and tequila cocktails. While the menu includes Mexican-inspired dishes like street corn and fish tacos, it also offers options for those seeking familiar flavors such as standard burgers from the regular and kids' menus.
By far the best tacos I’ve ever had! I am saddened that I can’t have them again as we were just visiting Florida. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. The flavor was out of this world! They pack the tacos with meat, two is plenty. We shared the gator and shrimp tacos, the shrimp was my favorite but the gator was good too! Both cooked perfectly and paired well with the sauce. We also shared the avocado fries, fried perfectly and the dipping sauce was divine. I got the mango peach mojito, my two favorite things mangos and mojitos. It was strong, sweet and minty. I was delighted with it. Great views but even better food! 10 out of 10 recommended stopping here, it will not disappoint.

My group did not enjoy the food here. We all had different meals and they were all bland and lacking flavor. The drinks were also not great. They had little flavor and tasted watered down. The best part about our meal was the beach view!
Shante M — Google review
We had an amazing time. Food was so good. Highly recommend the gator tacos as well as lobster tacos. The tequila flight was so fun. The service was on point. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you to all the staff that made us smile the entire night!

BEAUTIFUL location on the Okaloosa Island, FL Boardwalk area but the food was nothing to write home about. Service was excellent though, the manager personally interacted with us multiple times, inquiring about our experience here. Overcast day with swarms of pigeons flying in between people at the same table and pecking around on the floor. That was pretty gross, slightly scary and HIGHLY uncomfortable. Aggressive seagulls no doubt the fruit of clueless "animal lovers" feeding them despite clear signs posted by the establishment not to do so, since they are WILD. I had lobster tacos that were tasty but I wouldn't be able to tell if they were lobster meat inside however. My fiance ate fried gator bites, hed raved about from a previous visit—but on this occasion he was greatly disappointed. He enjoyed the steak burrito for what it was though. Not terrible, just not what we anticipated and had soooo many other superior dining experiences during our Gulf-area vacation. Like I said the setting is worth a visit even if just for drinks and appetizers.
Rashea L — Google review
This place is on the beach. This place has a wonderful view of the beach. The food on the other hand is far from wonderful. It was a passionless plated pile of bleh. There was no effort made to make it delicious. It looked like it was produced on an assembly line and it tasted like it was assembly line produced, restricted diet nursing home food. The ingredients had quality, but there was a little flavor. There was no salsa offered besides mild and you only get that if you paid for nachos. I don’t indulge in alcohol often. On this day, I ordered a Moscow mule and it was a weak mule. It seemed to be made with knockoff Sprite and it tasted as if it didn’t have any Ginger-ale in it.(let alone ginger beer.) I had the $19.99 taco platter. 3 tacos and a serving spoon full of bland Mexican rice. Imagine a $15 taco salad served without tomatoes or guacamole. See picture. The Elote‘ was decent. It was a mass produced approach, but the flavor was robust and the corn was hot and sweet. A true testament to how bad the food really was would be how many families were observed who walked away, leaving plenty the $30 meals on the table. Get customers in quick, push something hot in front of their faces and get them out seemed to me the mission. This may work in the summertime with a crowded beach, but I don’t know how they are going to survive the off-season? Eventually the word will get around and the crowds will thin. I can understand not serving complimentary nachos (1 round) with an ocean front view during peak seasons, but what would it hurt in the fall and winter? Our service was excellent, fast and attentive. I would not eat here again. I would not recommend it to a friend.
Nathan K — Google review
Party of 5 and only waited 30 minutes. Atmosphere was like a dance club. Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. The waitress was very good at her job and always addressed our needs and quickly. The food was the best food we had on our whole trip. We all had Taco, Quesadillas, and the enchiladas. A bit on the expensive side but worth it! I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Andrew H — Google review
Our server Janet was so amazing!!! She gave us the best service. I came for the regular chips and queso with my skinny marg but Janet makes the experience 10,000 times better!!! Ask for her section! It’s the best in the house! We had a beautiful view of the gulf from the front patio.
Jk1368 — Google review
Service was ok, but since we went when they were opening, they were busy setting up. Food was ok, but over priced. Also no chips and hot sauce are provided as soon as you sit down like in Texas. 2 tacos and a small serving of Spanish Rice that was kind of chewy that my husband did not like was 20 dollars. My 2 chicken enchiladas and chewy Spanish rice was 20 dollars also. I liked the chewy rice, so I ate his. The atmosphere on the boardwalk is probably lots of fun at night. We wont go back. Was really not worth it.

Seafood restaurant
Floyd's Shrimp House is a must-visit seafood eatery in Fort Walton Beach, offering an extensive menu featuring raw and baked oysters, coconut shrimp, and more. This popular spot caters to seafood enthusiasts with a variety of shrimp preparations including fried, blackened, broiled, coconut-crusted, and spicy sauced options. Additionally, the restaurant hosts daily all-you-can-eat shrimp specials from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Rich was our server, we came right at open and were seated promplly. We ordered an appetizer and our entrees. Food came out incredibly fresh and very delicious The AYCE deals offer a great value and are well prepared. The ribs and sirloin kebabs were cooked very well, tender, and delicious. Rich's customer service was really a step ahead. Quick to tend to our needs, very kind, and kept the mood light and enjoyable every time he visited our table.

Food was good, we went for the $16 ayce meal and it had fried popcorn shrimp and fried fish. The atmosphere was fun and it’s on a beach so our neighbors were half naked but that’s part of the beach experience. Service was absolutely amazing idk our servers name (he had red hair) but he was amazing and attentive.

After leaving McGuires (did not stay to eat) just see other review) we stopped at Floyd’s Shrimp House. Our waiter was Jalean and he delivered a cold beer to the table very quickly. Checked on us a couple times, never waited for drinks. The food came out pretty fast, we both ordered fried flounder, fries and slaw, delicious!

(Written by my 10 year old) Floyd's is five stars. Always choose outside seating because you get quicker service outside. Also, you get a great view of the ocean if you sit outside. There are signs that say "SEAGULLS ARE AGRESSIVE DO NOT FEED," but I would definitely recommend feeding them. ( 🤣😅🤭) The food is very good and fills you up fast. I got the fried/popcorn shrimp, and I would recommend it. The server was super nice and had cool tattoos. There are cool Wikki Sticks instead of crayons and coloring sheets. I made some cool 😎 glasses with them. Also, there are some very mindful pigeons. This is one of the best seafood places I've ever been to. 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you’re looking for the perfect combination of fresh Gulf seafood, great atmosphere, and unbeatable service, look no further than Floyd’s Shrimp House on Okaloosa Island. My wife and I visited recently with another couple, and from start to finish it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in the area. We kicked things off with the gator bites appetizer, which set the tone right away — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. For our entrées, my wife went with a classic shrimp platter that came out piled high and cooked to perfection. I ordered the 10oz sirloin steak with potatoes, and I’ve got to say it was one of the best steaks I’ve had locally — perfectly cooked, juicy, and well-seasoned. Our friends ordered an oyster platter and another sirloin, and everyone at the table agreed: not a single complaint. The portions were generous, everything came out hot, and the flavors were spot on. Between the four of us, we spent just under $100, which felt like a great value considering the quality and portion sizes. The service was flawless. Our server was friendly, professional, and attentive without hovering. Drinks were refilled promptly, food came out quickly despite how busy it was, and we never once felt rushed. It’s clear that the staff here takes pride in making sure their guests are taken care of. What really makes Floyd’s stand out, though, is the atmosphere. The restaurant has covered outdoor seating overlooking the emerald-green waters of the Gulf, and there’s truly nothing like enjoying a meal with that view. Add in the live music on stage and the relaxed dim lighting, and it creates an unforgettable setting. The vibe was equal parts fun and laid-back — perfect for couples, families, or a group of friends looking to soak up the best of Okaloosa Island. Between the atmosphere, the service, and the food (which we all agreed is some of the best on the island), Floyd’s Shrimp House absolutely delivered. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back. Highly recommend this spot to locals and visitors alike. If you’re in Fort Walton Beach or nearby Destin, make Floyd’s Shrimp House a must-stop on your list. We’ll definitely be back! Follow me on instragram @explorewithusreviews

I cannot say enough amazing things about Floyd’s! We ended our last day of vacation here this evening. The food was perfection and the service was even more impressive! The fried pickles are a must, all you can eat shrimp was the ticket for the men, and I highly recommend the Surf & Surf for a healthier option. Let me also give a huge shout out to our waitress Stephanie who was literally the most impressive! We did not have to wait or ask for one thing all night. She is just the friendliest! We cannot thank you enough! We look forward to visiting again!
Stacey P — Google review
Only reason I gave service a 3 star was because we go there every time we are in town and this trip we went twice. The first night the guy seating us wouldn’t let us sit by the window. It was a 6 top and he told us they were getting ready for the “busy time” and they needed the bigger table for larger groups then proceeded to sit us at a table with 8 seats and the very next family to come in had 4 and he sat them at the table I had just asked about. We only had 4 as well. And the entire time we sat there the “busy time” never happened. Only about 4 more tables were filled. Also our waiter left our drinks empty the entire time we ate until he finally came back at the end and we asked him to fill them. However, the next time we had the most amazing waitress who was very tentative and check on us all the time and had the kitchen already starting the all you can eat shrimp and fish before we even asked so it was ready and she brought it out as soon as she saw someone was empty without anyone even asking for it! As far as the atmosphere, it was only because in the winter they don’t have the outside or upstairs open and it’s really fun when all that is up and running. So I highly suggest you go during warmer weather if possible. We have done both. Even my kids liked the vibe outside, especially if you can get one of the tables upstairs next to the beach!

Al's Beach Club is a late-night hangout with delicious burgers and craft beers. It's also home to weekly fireworks shows and DJs, making it the perfect place to party after dark on Okaloosa Island.
This was our last meal before heading home from Florida. We also got drinks from here, which were really good and the prices were very reasonable for the area. Their food is very wholesome, fresh ingredients and it tasted great. Their fries are homemade and seasoned well! You will love their Mac and cheese, we had a few orders of it and passed it around. Outside they have bean bag toss and connect 4 as well as a splash pad. You could also hit the beach or do some volleyball. They have concerts frequently as well as drink specials. Come in and check it out you won’t be disappointed

owls is a great place to eat and hang out because it's located on the beach and there is a pier right next door where you can fish or walk on and I have fireworks certain nights of the week. Al's always has entertainment for kids and adults and they have live music. There shopping in a few stores. Kitty Hawk Kite store is located there in the mall attached to Al's. The food is great!

Fun place to bring your family for good entertainment and play fun of children. They have outside game for them to play and water sprinklers for the kids to sit, play and cool off on. Plus, a beautiful view of the Pier and beach. Also a handicap ramp down to the sand. Can't go wrong. Food is of course way over priced fast food but hey, the amenities are great!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but I don’t have ONE bad thing to say about this place! The onion rings were really good and we sat at the bar and a couple drinks. Our bartender Mikey was a really cool guy and you can tell how much he loves his job. He had a great personality and hyped up my now fiancé to propose to me, which he did on the beach right after we left!!! The live music “Tribe Zion “ I believe was awesome and sang a little bit of everything. It was just a chill atmosphere and all the lights made the experience feel so much better. We will definitely be returning customers.
K M — Google review
We were disappointed with Al’s overall. We had heard great things about it and had high hopes, but left saying it was just a tourist trap. Their website says the hamburgers are made from their proprietary blend that is ground fresh daily from choice cuts of beef. If this is true, they are wasting their money because the burger tasted VERY ordinary. The handcut fries were just ok. I’ve had way better from other places. All of the food items we received were just ok. The drinks… well they were pretty. If they had alcohol in them it was not much at all. The atmosphere was good. Very beach bar vibe with live music. It was great for a onetime visit, but for the price we paid we were VERY disappointed. We will probably not return when in the area. We visited several restaurants and this was the worst food we had. Service was just ok overall. When our food was delivered they didn’t even walk around the table, actually handed it to us.
Melanie M — Google review
Honestly, Food: Great -- the food is pretty good. Basically bar food, in sandwich and burger form. They're yummy. My only con is that they--along with the drinks--are pretty expensive, but given location and proximity to tourist destinations, it's to be expected. Service: Decent -- they are very friendly and accommodating however bc it's bar service only it can be kind of slow. So bring your patience along with your beach volleyball. Atmosphere: Fantastic -- beach is right there. Volleyball is fun to watch and even better to participate. The boardwalk and pier are also nearby. The live music is a great touch, and I appreciate the washing stations near the beach.
Jubriel M — Google review
Overall a good place despite my rating. Food selection was limited and pricey. Drinks were good but also pricey. However, it's right on the beach and nestled between several other resrestaurants. It is not a full service place, food is ordered at the counter. Close proximity to the pier which is worth the time to walk out on.
Anthony W — Google review
The lady who took our order was not happy nor helpful. My wife asked for the fried onions and mushrooms on her burger. She said “we don’t have the mushrooms rn” My wife: “Oh that’s Okay, I’ll take avocado instead” She charged us for the avocado and fried onions. The cups are paper and dissolve quickly. The only reason to go here is because you’re already at the boardwalk and they have live music and water features for kids. I would not recommend. Don’t bother eating at the chain places at the boardwalk. Go to a local seafood joint instead.

We have truly enjoyed The Gulf restaurant. We have been here multiple times over the years visiting the area and its absolutely one of our favorites. Its not the normal dining location. Its directly on the intracoastal waters, you can even dock your boat. Outdoor open eating with lots of cover/shade, lots of room for kids to play, lots of tables, also has some inside seating. Large outdoor bar, and really good food! We have never had a bad experience. The service is great, and like I said, the food is fantastic. We just visited today and Sofia took our order. She was super nice and helpful with menu questions. Mikaila delivered our food and was friendly and even grabbed us a few more things promptly and with a big smile. Thank you! Fans forever :)

If you’re looking for fresh seafood with an unbeatable coastal vibe, this is the place to go. The shrimp and lobster roll was packed with flavor, bursting with freshness in every bite. The seafood boil was just as impressive—perfectly seasoned, tender, and clearly made with the freshest catch. The seaside outdoor seating made the experience even better. With the ocean breeze and relaxing waterfront atmosphere, it felt like the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. Avery provided outstanding service—attentive, personable, and really made sure everything was spot on. This is a must-visit if you want fresh seafood paired with a welcoming, seaside atmosphere.

Great place to eat and drink on Okaloosa Island. Great atmosphere. Most of it was outdoors right on the bay. Even the bar was outdoors but mostly covered. They do have indoor seating as well. This is a order at the window kinda place then they bring the food to your table. There is also a dock for boats to park.

Looked up places to eat near the aquarium and found many excellent reviews of this place. Definitely glad we went here food was absolutely amazing. Of course we all had to try each other’s dish all were so delicious. Everything was outdoors and it was raining a little bit. They had covered seating so still made for a great experience. Would recommend everything we had especially the shrimp tacos.

I took my family of 10 out on a boat tour and was able to dock at the establishment for lunch. The place has stunning views, plenty of photo opportunities, family and pet friendly! The little ones enjoyed the gift shop, feeding the fish, photo booth & corn-hole! We were ecstatic they could accommodate us with ease and not have to wait for seating. We walked up to the bar and Nicole was prompt and very welcoming! Delicious mocktail mojito & creamy frozen pina colada! We were able to order food from the bar and skip the line by the window. We were handed a metal number and the food was delivered fairly quick! Between the Mahi Bowl, Lobster Roll, Smoked Tuna Dip, Guacamole, Queso, Gulf Burger, Grilled Cheese, Surf & Turf Bowl & the blackened Snapper BLT, everyone was happy and no complaints! I’ll definitely be docking again soon with friends! I’m stunned I’ve lived in the area all my life and just discovered this place!

Stewby's Seafood Shanty, located on Racetrack Road in Fort Walton Beach, is a popular family-owned restaurant known for its delicious fried seafood offerings. The menu features a variety of mouth-watering options including shrimp and creamy chowders. The casual atmosphere and friendly staff make it an inviting place to enjoy a meal. Whether you're visiting the area or simply looking for a great dining experience, Stewby's Seafood Shanty is definitely worth a visit.
We came twice on our trip! The service was phenomenal and the food was phenomenaler! We can’t wait to come back for these delicious meals! The tacos were my favorite! Bring from Texas I didn’t think they’d be that good! But they were! The shrimp, catfish, baked beans and fries all so good!
Regina A — Google review
Love love love! This was our 2nd time at Stewby’s, and we dined at the shanty that offers fried or grilled fish. (The steamer building offers steamed or flat pan grilled fish, which we will try another time!). We ordered both the grouper and mahi mahi, grilled, which is seasoned with their grill seasoning which you can purchase for $8 at their counter. The grouper is definitely the best, and we preferred it over the mahi, although the mahi was very good too. The grouper just tastes fresher even though both are freshly caught. The hushpuppies and coleslaw are outstanding, might be the tastiest we’ve ever had. String beans and cheesy grits are solid. I would pass on the banana pudding - wish it were mixed with whip cream and had more banana like the recipe from NYC’s Magnolia Bakery. The keylime pie is very good. The indoor dining area is made up of picnic tables and you pickup your food from the counter on trays. We will be back!

We like to eat at different places when we travel to experience different things. However, this place was so GOOD that we ate here 3 times in one week! Everything that we tried was delicious! Here is what we had over the 3 meals: fried grouper, fried shrimp, grouper sandwich, steamed crab legs (from steamer), cheese grits, Cole slaw, beans, okra, onion rings, fish dip, shrimp salad, and potato salad. All were excellent!! We would eat them all again and recommend each (with the exception of the beans). This place is super casual and the appearance is nothing fancy but their food is the quality of a 5-star seafood restaurant. We jokingly said, “we don’t know who Stewby is, but Stewby knows what he’s doing!!” Hope to visit from GA again soon just to eat here. Highly recommend!

Your search is over! Stop thinking about it and head to Stewby's now! I cannot begin to tell you how much we enjoyed the food here! We were a group of seven who arrived, hot and starving. Kelli is excellent and took care of us right away. You can sit outdoors or indoors; both are great. The staff is FANTASTIC, wonderfully friendly, and the service was fast. The food is amazingly good, great quality! You won't find more bang for your buck anywhere. We loved it and hope to return before we leave Destin.

Great great fresh seafood ! All was excellent! Loved the fried shrimp 🍤 and the cheese grits but not quite as good as Metro Diner in my opinion ! Great iced tea too was fresh ! You order at the front then they call your number ! They have a great efficiency with their system! There was a line but not too bad moves quickly - we ate at the fried side the other building is the steamed side - like low country boil - crawfish etc ! Hats off to stewbys! Can’t wait to come back !

The fish tacos were so good! Im not a fan of coleslaw but when I ate those I immediately loved it. The steamed family feast was also AMAZING! Just the right amount of seasoning and the right portions. The hushpuppies were delicioussss! Mine did come burnt one time but mistakes happen. 🥲 Now the setting was great. They had the cutest string lights and tables. But the most you could fit on their tables would be a family of 4-6. Small but plenty. The service is also fast when the place isnt packed. Theyre popular so make sure to come at the right time. This is one of the best places to go to in Fort Walton, for sure.

Ridiculously delicious. I don’t know what seasoning they throw on their grub, but I want it injected in my veins. I got the chicken and colossal shrimp. My girlfriend got grilled shrimp and fried oysters. The batter was seasoned incredibly, the chicken was tender, shrimp cooked perfectly (not rubbery at all) , both hers and mine. Okra was pretty good, but I’d get it with a ranch instead of ketchup. There’s a reason there’s a line outside of this place. (We ordered pickup and skipped all the silly people in line.) Don’t go to anywhere else that claims to have seafood (besides Old Bay Steamer if u fancy like that) come to Stewby’s or face the wrath of the mighty Poseidon, God of the Seas. If you don’t you’ll regret it. Now look at these pictures of our demolished plates and the current prey of our mouths (okra, 3 of the SEVEN hush puppies they gave us, and key lime pie)

Absolutely delicious seafood! You will have to wait in line to get in to order but the line moved quickly, the steamer side had no wait. The fish of the day was Amber Jack-it was great grilled and fried. The fried grouper dinner is my favorite. Everything was breaded and seasoned perfectly-loved the flavor of seasonings for the fried okra. The cheese grits were amazing as well. Overall 100/10!

Additionally, the bistro is praised for its extensive wine list.
Nicole was a wonderful waitress with her recommendations, service, and knowledge for our dinner for 8. The cheese garlic knots were delicious! Fish of the day was grouper which was devoured! We may a lot of happy plates.

Not impressed. We pick up a pizza from this restaurant every time we visit FWB and have been very pleased in the past. This time, the pizza wasn’t worth the $30. There was barely any sauce and it was almost like the toppings were thrown onto an old pepperoni pizza with minimal sauce. It wasn’t even hot though I picked it up 15 mins after ordering. The onions and peppers were raw. The only reason I didn’t give one star is because there were plenty of toppings even if they were cold. I will not likely be back for their pizza.

Went here Thursday night, we didn’t have reservation but they were kind enough to seat us on their covered porch. It was loud because of the acoustics on the floor with the tent cover. Service was great except for a long wait for the bill at the end. I had chicken piccata. My niece had chicken alfredo and my sister had a portobello pasta. We would definitely go again.

We stopped into Ali’s Bistro to avoid the traffic heading toward Okaloosa Island—and honestly, it was the best decision we could’ve made. This relaxed, contemporary spot has a welcoming vibe, cozy outdoor seating, and a solid menu of Italian favorites and cocktails. The food and service were both top-tier. I had their special 18-ounce steak, and it was nothing short of amazing—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The drink I ordered was great too, and the complimentary olive oil dip with bread was a total smash hit. I could’ve just made a meal out of that alone. While parking directly at the restaurant is limited, there’s plenty of space available just steps away in the surrounding strip. Definitely worth the short walk. Whether you’re avoiding beach traffic or just looking for a local gem, Ali’s Bistro is a spot I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend!

Awesome meal, service and atmosphere. The olive oil had an amazing flavor. The ribeye was melt in your mouth tender. The chicken florentine was perfect. The only down side, nothing else is going to compare for the rest of our trip. 😂

Experiential!!!, Thank you Bolton and family for a memorable dinner. Loved the holiday theme, Ali’s homemade garlic/olive oil dip and the service was more than appreciated. I would say your restaurant is a must go destination. Thank you!

It offers a laid-back atmosphere and serves up savory fish baskets, sandwiches, and mouthwatering crab dips. The outdoor patio provides scenic views of the beachfront, making it an ideal place to indulge in Florida vibes while enjoying delicious eats.
Friendly and efficient service The Caesar salad was nothing to rave about but fresh and tasty, the hush puppies were a small portion for the price, but delicious. The half pound snow crab legs with drawn butter were incredible. Melt in your mouth 100% worth the work

We had a fantastic time at Angler’s. The service and food were great! Our server (Lydia) was phenomenal. Our food (Cajun Pasta) was so good. And our drinks were perfect. We sat inside but the view outside is awesome for those that prefer that seating. We visited several restaurants while in the area and Angler’s was by far our favorite. We will definitely return.

Came on a Saturday late afternoon /early evening. Brought our granddaughter and her friend and they sat at a table behind us. We had a great time, food and service was excellent and there were several TV’s to watch the football games! They even have a souvenir/gift shop where the kids picked out a few things! Specialty drink 🍹 menu had a large selection of cocktails! Highly recommend dining here!

Gulf views and amazing food. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress, Lydia, was awesome. I had the fried grouper, and it was delicious!! It was on my short list of restaurants, and we were able to visit after our visit to the Gulfarium, and it didn't disappoint.

JUST EAT THE RED FISH! From the time we walked in to the time we left we felt welcomed and appreciated. The service was great! We came around 6pm and they were slightly busy but getting busier. Now for the best part! The food! Red fish with Creole topping (not pictured) and Red fish with the Anglers topping, Oh my goodness, some of the best I've ever had. And that is coming from someone who eats a lot of red fish. The drinks were good too. We were too stuffed to try desert. The pricing was very fair and about the same as every where else in the area. (But this food was better) Thanks for Having us!

This became our breakfast place of choice on our honeymoon! The service was phenomenal (ask for Casi - she’s the best) and the food was spectacular! The biscuits are huge and fluffy. Get your fried potatoes “shipwrecked”! You won’t be disappointed. The crab cake benedict on their homemade potato cakes was the perfect choice if you like seafood! Definitely a must try!

Really disappointed. We are fairly local but had never tried it. Had to wait to be seated but that wasn’t the bad part. Took way too long to be acknowledged for our drinks. Ok, got our drinks and waited again. I got the crab cake Benedict see pic attached poached eggs were hard boiled no way around that and husband ordered over medium eggs well, that was even worse. Whites were so runny I’m not sure why they would even be plated. Couldn’t get the attention of our waitress so finally caught the eye of a gentleman and who took them back but felt like he wasn’t happy that we didn’t want to eat the raw eggs. Well, this all leads to the fact we wouldn’t go back. EVER!

I came her last summer 2024 for the first time for breakfast and I haven’t stopped coming every time I come back to Okaloosa since then! I eat their breakfast nearly every morning I’m there! Their food is phenomenal! Shipwrecked potatoes, seafood omelet, and the delicious huge homemade biscuits with the honey butter are all my favorites! But more than the food I love the friendly folks who own this place and work here!! We felt like we were locals coming by for our usual breakfast order!!!

I saw that this place had good reviews online, so my family and I decided to go there. There was a line at the door and it was very busy inside. Luckily we were able to get a seat and our lovely hostess guided us there. Our waiter was amazing. He made us laugh and was patient with us. Our waiter treated us like we were family. I decided to get the Steak Skillet. The Steak Skillet had of course steak with potatoes, peppers, and scrambled eggs. The Steak just pairs well with everything. I also had a little bit of my dad's blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were so fluffy and delicious.

The restaurant provides a cloth-covered table setting for couples seeking to enjoy delightful American favorites and inspiring Italian dishes. With its robust wine menu and impeccable service, Magnolia Grill promises to please its guests.
Came in on a Tuesday afternoon, and promptly taken to a table. The atmosphere is cozy, bright, and quaint. I was pleasantly surprised to have a table, right next to a fireplace! The tablecloths and cloth napkins, added a nice touch. Cathy our server, was fantastic! Her friendliness and knowledge of all the menu items and daily specials, made our dining experience top notch! Our IPA, & Blue Moon beers, were frosty cold! The French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had, and the food portions are huge! The Red beans and rice has the perfect amount of seasoning and has ample amounts of sausage. The Alfredo pasta was creamy with a tasty crab cake and loads of shrimp! I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant, for anyone looking for a delicious meal with lovely service!

The meal, service and ambiance was outstanding. There was live music being played on a keyboard. He took a request from my 80+ year old parents for a song he didn’t know. He looked it up and played it. My parents had grilled amberjack and rice plus soup or salad. I had the manicotti with fettuccine. My husband had the special of crab cakes over shrimp Alfredo. We had a flourless chocolate torte and key lime pie for dessert. Everything was spectacular. There is a quaint museum in the upstairs of the restaurant with War and historical memorabilia. It is well worth a meal there.

I’d like to start by saying the food was absolutely amazing! I was a bit concerned at first when I noticed there were no vegetarian options listed on the dinner menu, but our server went above and beyond by speaking with the chef, who graciously prepared a custom vegetable lasagna for me — and it was delicious. Our party of five all thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The portions were generous, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the history of the building added such a unique charm to the dining experience. However, the only downside to our visit was discovering that the server wrote in her own 20% gratuity without informing us. There was no signage or note on the menu stating that gratuity would be automatically added for a party of five, which felt a bit presumptive. Ironically, we had planned to leave a 30% tip because the service, food, and overall experience were exceptional. While this situation was disappointing, it doesn’t take away from the quality of the food or the great service we received. I just believe transparency is important and that customers should be informed upfront if gratuity will be automatically included.

We were served by an excellent server named Kim. She provided us with such an amazing experience. She was extremely kind and we loved her recommendations. We ordered the crab claws, oysters Rockefeller, crab cakes with Alfredo, and the prime rib. The oysters were okay. The rest? AMAZING. This food is so worth the price and everything was so flavorful.

Our 2nd time visiting here! Our food was amazing again this year. Best French onion soup and prime rib I’ve ever had. Our service on the other hand was awful. We had a large party of 16. They split us up into 3 different tables which was completely fine and we understood. But our servers were awful. We waited over an hour for a checks after we had already finished eating our and then another 30 mins to get our change back. I’m not 100% sure what the deal was but when we started asking about our change the server back very snooty. We will go back and I’ll just be hoping that this year they were just having a bad night 😅😅

A Smooth Departure from the Emerald Shores, it was – Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport Review, Jedi Master Style Departed I did, from the small yet mighty air hub known as Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. Easy, the path was. Calm, the Force felt. Only seven gates, there are—but chaos, there is not. A blessing for travelers seeking peace, hmm. Rental car return on-site, it is—no shuttle required, no confusion. Return your speeder and stroll inside, like a Jedi gliding through Naboo gardens. Check-in? Swift. Security? A breeze, like the soft wind on Dagobah. TSA, kind and efficient, they were. No lines, no drama. Arrived I did early, yet waited not. Food, hmmm… limited, yes. A coffee shop, a grill, and a bar (open in the PM only) await those in need of nourishment. But also, a small convenience store there is—for snacks, drinks, or forgotten essentials. Helpful it can be, like a droid at your side. Quiet, clean, and simple, this airport is. For travelers in the Florida panhandle, a fine launchpad it makes. May your next journey begin here—and may the snacks be with you.

Overall a positive experience from the airport itself. The airport is definitely not big enough for the amount of people here on a Saturday. Long lines at the few vendors and not enough seating at the gates. It needs better air conditioning for sure. The positives were that rental returns were close and quick. The staff, including TSA were helpful and friendly. The whole process to get to the gate was super fast and easy.

One of the best small airports I’ve ever flown through! ECP is clean, modern, and incredibly easy to navigate. Security was quick, staff were friendly, and everything was well organized. The terminal has a coastal vibe with comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, and a few nice spots to grab a snack or coffee. I also appreciated how close it is to Panama City Beach—just a short drive. Great experience overall, especially compared to crowded big-city airports. Highly recommend flying in or out of here if you’re visiting the area!
Fareed M — Google review
We have been using this airport for the last few years and have seen it grow up a little and now have 9 gates. It is always very crowded but the tsa lines are not too long even the non pre tsa lines. There are two places to eat as few shops many airlines and a coffee bar. There are also shops before and after security. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP), located at 6300 West Bay Parkway, Florida, is a modern public airport that opened on May 23, 2010—notably the first U.S. international airport built after 9/11 . It serves Panama City, Panama City Beach, and Bay County, sitting about 18 mi northwest of downtown Panama City and roughly 15–16 mi from the beaches, with a convenient 20–30‑minute drive . ECP offers daily nonstop service via four major U.S. airlines: American, Delta, Southwest, and United . Flight routes include cities like Atlanta, Baltimore, Houston, Nashville, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York, and Washington, D.C.—subject to seasonal changes . While international flights aren’t currently scheduled, the airport’s class and runway (10,000 ft concrete) allow for wide-body aircraft and future potential . Facilities are traveler-friendly: free Wi‑Fi, efficient check-in/security, and expanded parking options make the airport easy to navigate. On-site dining includes establishments like Emerald Coast Pub, Beach Time Grill, Grayton Beer Landing Strip, and Espressology, plus gift shops on both levels . Ground transport options are plentiful: seven major rental agencies (Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty), taxi/shuttle/limo services, plus rideshare pickups for Uber/Lyft . For military travelers, the Military Welcome Center—open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.—offers a quiet lounge, snacks, internet access, and a kids’ play area . Driving directions are straightforward: from Panama City Beach take SR‑79 north, then SR‑388 west for ~4 mi; from Panama City take SR‑77 north, then SR‑388 east for ~8 mi . ECP’s passenger traffic exceeded 1.87 million in 2024 and it supported nearly 87,000 aircraft operations . With its modern infrastructure, regional connectivity, and beachside proximity, the airport acts as an efficient and welcoming gateway to Florida’s Emerald Coast.

Flew out of here on a Friday morning in October. Super easy. Folks at Delta and TSA were great. Easy walk to check in and a short walk to our gate. I like this airport. However, if you fly during the summer, expect crowds at security and give yourself lots of time.

I’ve lived here for 15 years. The airport was just being finished when we moved up here from Tarpon Springs, FL after retiring. I travel to Dulles to see family about every 3-4 months, always on Delta, so I’ve always noted that the staff has always been professional and most accommodating. We have always been treated with dignity and respect and have always felt appreciated as customers. My hat is off to the staff of an airport does so well!!!

Cute little airport that caters to the panhandle beaches of Florida. Mainly Panama City beach, the surrounding suburbs (St. Andrew’s and Lynn Haven) — as the locals call it, “The Redneck Riviera.” This airport has a total of 7 gates. A small establishment on the land side and 3 coffee and food places on the airside. Staff are quite polite and hospitable like. Lines are seldom long but flights do get delayed and cancelled when there are heavy rains or typhoons. In general, a great local airport that does its job!
Nabil R — Google review
Landed and had to wait 40 minutes on terminal for a gate, then had to wait another 1.5 hours for bags to arrive at terminal. Evidently, they have only 3 people for all baggage, and workers say this is common. I fly all the time and have never encountered such a poorly ran airport.

Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport

Airport
Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is very easy to navigate. The staff is professional, and the airport is clean. TSA security was relatively fast, and there is a pre-check line available. While the food options are limited, they are adequate for the size of the airport, with places to grab snacks and drinks. Overall, it's a great airport to fly into and out of in Florida.

Nice little airport with very friendly people throughout the airport. My only ding is you have to walk outside to a ramp to get on plane. This time of year the rain can be very heavy at times.

Flying in and out of this airport was surprisingly easy. It’s not a huge airport, so everything feels a little more relaxed compared to bigger ones. Security moved quickly, and the staff I interacted with were all polite. There aren’t a ton of food options, but enough to grab something before boarding. Just be aware that the food options are very expensive. Overall, it made traveling a little less stressful, which is always a win.

You will not find a better airport than this one! ✨🤩✨ It’s never really that crowded most of the times I’m here. 🙌🏻 And Ian was very nice checking my bags for me and helping me with everything. 🐸❤️ He should get a raise. Thank you so much VPS!!! 👏🏻

This is a very small airport as others have mentioned. I give it 3 stars because sometimes it's 5 stars, and other times it is a complete mess. 5 star things: Convenience- you're 15 minutes from Destin and FWB. We used to have to fly into PNS or ECP, and those require an hour drive to our place. It's also a small airport so you get your bags in minutes and you can be off the plane and in your rental car in 30 minutes. People that work here are really nice and TSA moves you through quickly. Nice selection of vendors for food and drinks. 1 star things: it's a small airport, so if your flight is canceled, you are F'd. It's really hard if not impossible to get another flight on the same day. When this happens during prime season (spring break and summer), you'll be staying in some crappy hotel in the area for a small fortune. This has happened to me twice, and it always gives me pause when I book in and out of here. One other thing that used to be annoying- the TSA was pretty aggressive in the past, treating everyone like a terrorist and searching luggage for the dumbest things. It's not as bad as it used to be, but be aware. Overall I like the airport as our place is on Okaloosa Island, but be aware of the limitations of an airport this size.
Matt G — Google review
Quick and easy airport. Small, but that's just fine. There are two restaurants at VPS that serve food and adult beverages. They both have similar menus and it's typical bar food. That said, service at both is usually great. The airport itself is pretty easy to navigate. Not many gates, only two baggage claim belts. There are typically plenty of rental cars available. Enterprise, National, Budget and Hertz all operate out of VPS. (Sadly no Sixt... yet) If you're visiting Destin, Fort Walton Beach or the Emerald Coast, in general, this is probably the airport for you.
Michael S — Google review
This airport was clean and was a great place to come on an Allegiant flight. The bag check counter and security and gates for Allegiant are in different buildings. There was a free airport shuttle and the guy driving was very helpful in explaining how the airport was set up.
Lydia T — Google review
Call it growing pains if you want, but this place has some real issues. They built a new terminal, but kept the baggage claim in the old terminal. Then they put the parking and temp parking by the new terminal, so you have to walk a long way from new terminal to old terminal, and back to temporary lot to get your ride. And if your ride attempts to meet you at baggage claim damn sheriffs with power trips won't let you pick them up there. They make you circle back to the temporary lot. If you are wanting to fly and leave your car at the airport, good luck finding ANY long term parking anywhere close to whichever terminal you are headed too. It's a mess, and throw in OCSO cops and it's not worth flying from here.

Pensacola International Airport

International airport
Airport
Pensacola International Airport is a bustling regional airport in the Southeast, offering free WiFi and a variety of car rental options. Travelers recommend arriving 2-3 hours early due to potential parking and security wait times, but note that security checks are generally smooth. The airport features multiple dining options, with some undergoing renovations like Chick-Fil-A which is expected to reopen in a month.
Pensacola International Airport offers a convenient and efficient travel experience with modern amenities, quick security lines, and friendly staff. Located close to downtown and beaches, it serves major airlines with direct flights to several U.S. cities. The clean, easy-to-navigate terminal and rental car access make it a preferred gateway to Florida’s Gulf Coast.

I liked the smallness of this airport quite a bit. This regards a late winter experience this year, I saw in other reviews that the upcoming construction to enlarge the airport is desired and needed. I will say though, that if I have reason to head through again I will miss the small size and easy of passage through (at least during the off-season).
A D — Google review
Great airport. Though it is small, it gets you where you need to go. Clean, too. I like those glowing signs by the seats, which say the name of the airport. The attendants are nice, random store owners tell you where the water fountains are if you ask...I mean, the only downside is that it doesn't have a people mover. I love using those. But it's understandable, Pensacola being such a small city.
Penguin O — Google review
It’s clean, easy to navigate the drop off and pick up area. If you have TSA Precheck think twice before going thru that line. The regular line had 3 TSA lines open and was moving faster than Precheck because we were funneled into that regular line. I was not happy. I pay for the privilege of moving thru quickly and that was not the case. Be aware there are very limited choices as far as eating there. But that is the norm at small airports.
Carole C — Google review
The first thing I notice at an airport is how clean it is. PNS is the cleanest airport I visit. I literally tey to find a trash can that has trash in it, can't find one. Bathrooms are perfect, no congestion no long lines. For Me traveling to the emerald coast, Pensacola is the touch down destination!
Haden L — Google review
Southwest (I fly 90% of the time) agents are awesome and efficient when you have to check baggage. The TSA Pre✅ line moves relatively quickly. TSA agents are laid back, but absolutely taking their job seriously. This is the only airport where my bag always gets flagged for my deodorant (crystal ball-no alum). Gates are easy to get to and boarding is always on time, unless there is extremely severe weather. Today was a great example. My Lyft driver showed up late and drove so slow, and I got to the airport 30 minutes before boarding. No bags to check and lines were fairly full for TSA. I still got through and to my gate with 10 minutes to spare. I rarely get to park in the garage anymore, so plan on a long walk, but it’s mostly covered walking. Plans for a major expansion (which it needs and deserves) but I hope they keep in mind the true positives of this airport. Bar is always packed, but the severs and bartenders are nice and helpful. Expect to pay airport prices, even at Chik Fil A. And I always go to the parking check out to the far left that are managed by the sweetest ladies on earth. Pensacola is a great city and the airport is, dare I say, a comfortable place to go.
Brad W — Google review
I was nervous about flying, but the staff and American Airlines employees were the most thoughtful and kind workers ever. I needed a wheelchair and that service was wonderful...kind and attentive people took me to my gate and checked on me every 15 to 20 minutes. I understand the small size allows passengers more attention, but even the TSA agents wished me safe travels. Great little airport.

Pensacola International Airport (PNS) is a small but efficient airport that offers a smooth and friendly travel experience. Located just minutes from downtown Pensacola and the beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, it’s an excellent gateway to northwest Florida. Despite its modest size, PNS provides a clean, comfortable, and well-organized environment that’s easy to navigate, making it especially convenient for families and casual travelers. The airport features a single main terminal with modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi, charging stations, and comfortable seating areas. Dining options are limited but solid, featuring local favorites like Chick-fil-A, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and a few grab-and-go choices. The staff are consistently praised for their Southern hospitality—friendly, helpful, and quick to assist with directions or travel needs.
