Well worth the trip. They offer a special lunch menu during the week, either 2 main meals for £23 or Any burger get a second for and additional £4.95. We tried the burgers. From bacon, crispy onion rings , to chorizo, black pudding ,pullled pork and even spar ribs off the bone their selection is amazing. They were cooked to perfection. My stilton cheese burger had 2 patties Char grilled, with stilton cheese premelted dripping down the patties. With onion marmalade and all the trimmings on a brioche bun. Seriously the best burger for miles. The other dishes we saw coming out looked as inviting but for me I ll be back to try some of the other burger crearions. Paid £75 for the room upstairs which is lovely but very tight on space to hold 23 people. £16pp & £17 for gluten free afternoon tea we got 3 different sandwich fillers with hardly anything on the sandwich got about 3 each 1 scone each and a slice of cake. Unlimited tea no coffee or any service for alcoholic drinks … was told we had a male looking after us that would take our drink orders and he never came to ask us if we wanted anything else. Food was brought out dead on 12pm so by the time people sat down to eat it was going hard. Had to stand up multiple times to ask for water for the table and it took ages for them to bring it, dirty cutlery hair found in cake and when we told the staff we just got a sorry no cake brought back to us what we had paid for. Two people from the party didn’t show up and had paid previous and didn’t get money back but I’m glad they didn’t come because there wasn’t enough food for anyone else. By 2pm they was taking all cakes away plates glasses etc not asking if we wanted takeout boxes completely tidying up around us making us all feel extremely uncomfortable and had to leave. Overall experience I wouldn’t recommend at all. Very disappointed with how much it all cost and got nothing from it.

The real ale selection was excellent - amongst the best of the day - and they were all in tip top condition. The pub was pretty crowded but there was a fantastic atmosphere which we would have loved to have soaked up for longer but for our need to press on. An excellent job all round for all concerned and one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you to Taran and all his brilliant staff!

It was a very hot day and considering the conditions they had to work in (heat!!) they were very polite and professional. The pub/restaurant itself was quite warm and would benefit from Aircon to make customers more comfortable in the warmer weather.
